Reader incompatible with system configuration

Installing Reader Xl has turned all of my icons into Adobe symbols and will not open. Dialog box says that protected mode is incompatible with system configuration but still will not open even if I click to disable proteced mode. I cannot open Adobe Reader either. I use Windows 7

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. If my browser gets closed I have to uninstall the program just to open my browser or any other program. I scanned with Kaspersky TDSS Killer and it showed up clean. I have went to the Adobe Properties and tried it on the compatibility pack for windows 7 and also tried it on XP service pack 2. No luck.

When I try to open a document with Adobe Reader i get a message that says it is incompatible with my system.  My system is Windows 7.  How can i fix this?

start here (and untick mcafee unless you're certain you want it), http://get2.adobe.com/reader/
that link should display your os and language and offer a compatible version.

  • Problems With System Configuration

System Configuration is altered and not repairable. Selective startup is persistent. Normal startup is selected, but the Apply button is greyed out, inaccessible, and system always remains in Selective startup. As a result, Current User profile is probably
corrupted. Windows Store will not install (services are corrupt, SFC and DISM did not work). Outlook profile was deleted, needed to be reinstalled, and can not receive mail. Excel math engine totals values higher than actual amounts. IE automatically signs
into all Microsoft accounts (reset to default settings worked for a log on, but automatic sign in resumed afterwards).

  • Reading access to System Configuration

    Hi,
we need a role for developer which can perform only read-access to all tasks of Workset "System Administration".
I have created a role and I have added workset "System Administration" (Portal Content --> Content Provided by SAP --> Admin Content --> System Administrators --> Worksets --> System Administration) to role. I have modified the workset in the role by deleting not needed pages. I have modified Security Zones (System Administration -> Permissions -> Security Zones -> com.sap -> Netweaver.Portal -> high_safety ) for that role (ADD the created role with None/ Enduser). I have also changed the permissions of folder Portal Content (ADD new role with read / No Enduser).
But the user with the created role has write/delete access to all System Administration objects like System Administration --> Themes or System Administration --> Knowledge Management --> System Configuration.
Do anybody of you have an idea how I can modify the System Administration Workset permissions so that the user only have read-access to the objects?
    Regards
    Sabine

    Hi,
    it doesn't work.
Let me explain once again. I have created a customized role and I have applied two workset as delta link to workset System Administration and Content Administration that means the role contains two worksets - workset "Content Administration" and workset "System Administration". I have assigned the role to the user and it works for workset Content Administration. That means the use can read the PCD Content and the KM Folder but the user can not modify. But for the second workset - System Administration - it doesn't work. That means the user can perform modifications in  the whole System Configuration items.

  • Adobe Reader incompatible with Windows Internet Explorer 9

I recently installed the update for Windows Internet Eexplorer 9 on my laptop (Vista Home Premium) and have installed the latest Adobe Reader as well.
After installing Windows IE 9 I found that I was not able to view any letters etc online where Adobe Reader was required.
I tried all the suggestions in the associated help screen to no avail, so I finally 'uninstalled'  the Windows I E 9 update and magically I was once again able to view online letters etc.
I am wondering why the latest Adobe Reader is incompatible with Windows I E 9?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Judith Matthews [email address removed by host]

I believe IE9 is not supported with Reader9, but everything should work as usual. I have both on my machine and am able to use them without any problem.
Try repairing Reader from Programs in Control Panel.
Kindly refer to System Requirement section in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_9.5.pdf

  • Safari suddenly "incompatible with system" ?!?

We recently had to get our G4 Titanium laptop repaired -- the power socket was damaged. While in the shop, the repairmen said they had to reinstall the system -- Mac OS 10.2. But now Safari won't open -- it says it's incompatible with the system. I re-downloaded Safari 1.0, and it still says it's incompatible, and won't open. Help! I much prefer Safari to Explorer now, and don't understand what the problem is. When they reinstalled the system, they put the old system in s "previous systems" folder. Is that fouling things up? Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried clearing the System Cache and System Preferences on your computer? If the shop re-installed your operating system it's likely they "archived" you OS when they re-installed the system in order to preserve any software that was on your computer. It's possible that you have scrambled preferences files or system cache files which are "confusing" the operating system and preventing Safari from operating properly. Once you delete the files, "restart" your computer and the operating system will rebuild the system cache and preferences files afresh. Also, clear the Safari cache and preferences files, there may be two sets or a set that's not connecting to your current copy of Safari which may be causing the program to not run properly. If you're looking for specific instructions on how to do this, check the Apple Knowledge base. You should be able to find the detailed instructions along with do's and don'ts guidance. Hope this helps...

  • Field symbols and READ TABLE with system code 4

    Hi,
I have a hashed table and I am using field symbols to point to it to retrieve the field content. I then use it in the READ TABLE statement in the following way:
    Loop at x_data assign <fs>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'xxx' OF STRUCTURE <fs> TO <c1>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'xxx' OF STRUCTURE <fs> TO <c2>.
READ TABLE ZZZZ assign <fs> with table key a1 = <c1>
                                               a2 = <c2>.
    If sy-subrc = 0.
    endif.
I ran the debugger and I keep getting a 4. I am not able to get the value from a1 and a2 to see what it is and why it is causing a 4 sy-subrc. I know the value from the hashed table and the values c1 and c2 are the same, so the sy-subrc should be 0.
How would I read a hashed table using field symbols? I know that usig a standard table, I have to sort the table on the key fields() before I actually can do the READ TABLE using the binary search.
    Please advise. Thanks
    RT

    Hai Rob
    Go  through the following Code
Field-Symbols are place holders for existing fields.
A Field-Symbol does not physically reserve space for a field but points to a field, which is not known until run time of the program.
Field-Symbols are like Pointers in Programming language ‘ C ‘.
    Syntax check is not effective.
    Syntax :
    Data : v1(4) value ‘abcd’.
    Field-symbols <fs>.
    Assign v1 to <fs>.
    Write:/ <fs>.
    DATA: BEGIN OF LINE,
    COL1 TYPE I,
    COL2 TYPE I,
    END OF LINE.
DATA ITAB LIKE SORTED TABLE OF LINE WITH UNIQUE KEY COL1.
FIELD-SYMBOLS <FS> LIKE LINE OF ITAB.
    DO 4 TIMES.
    LINE-COL1 = SY-INDEX.
    LINE-COL2 = SY-INDEX ** 2.
    APPEND LINE TO ITAB.
    ENDDO.
READ TABLE ITAB WITH TABLE KEY COL1 = 2 ASSIGNING <FS>.
    <FS>-COL2 = 100.
READ TABLE ITAB WITH TABLE KEY COL1 = 3 ASSIGNING <FS>.
    DELETE ITAB INDEX 3.
    IF <FS> IS ASSIGNED.
    WRITE '<FS> is assigned!'.
    ENDIF.
    LOOP AT ITAB ASSIGNING <FS>.
    WRITE: / <FS>-COL1, <FS>-COL2.
    ENDLOOP.
    The output is:
    1 1
    2 100
    4 16

  • X201 finger reader active with system off

The fingerprint reader stays on when my laptop is asleep or off.  The green LED will be active, and when I slide my finger on it, the red one lights up.
I believe the fingerprint reader is a usb device, so this could be due to the new bios option to enable usb power when the system is off.  The issue is that the LEDs are on even when my laptop is unplugged!  This is a useful feature to me for charging devices, but I don't want usb devices drawing power when my computer is unplugged.
    Any ideas?

You have a couple of settings in the fingerprint application. One is found under the "More Settings" tab where you can remove the check that says "Enable indicator lights on sensor" if you don't want this light. I don't think that one will draw much power though. There is also a setting under the "Authentication" tab that says "Use fingerprint scan instead of power-on button". I believe this is the setting that allow you to turn on the computer using the fingerprint reader. I'm not 100% sure, but i believe there is a similar setting in BIOS where you also can disable this feature.

  • Report with system configurations of a landscape

    Hello,
Is there a way (report, t-code...) to get a report of all components in a system, or systems of a solution. By components I mean, server info (cpu, memory...), installed OS, SAP Version, SAP SP versions...
The aim would be to easily extract the desired info into an excel sheet.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot install itunes on computer says system configure

Trying to install itunes on computer keeps comming up with system configure error please help

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Apply System Configuration Settings Broken in SIU

I'm making a NetRestore image for a small lab with 14 MacBooks.
I want to apply Computer Name and Host Name and ByHost preferences to the clients.
I'm building a NetBoot image in System Image Utility using the Apply System Configuration Settings to Apply Computer Name and Hostname settings from a file, using a tab delimited file of MAC_Addresses(en0), Computer_Names and Hostnames.  Here's a few example lines:
    70:cd:60:28:13:14     Abana     Abana.local
    70:cd:60:37:9f:ee     Abigail   Abigail.local
    70:cd:60:38:8c:ea     Afra      Afra.local
Finally I'm using Change ByHost preferences to match Client after install to change a few settings like the visibility of Bluetooth in the menu bar and activating iChat's Bonjour Messaging.
The trouble is that the name and hostname never get applied and the ByHost settings don't end up matching the retored Client.  It seems as if the step is simply ignored, even though it show that it completed successfully.
Has anyone successfully used Apply System Configuration Settings in Lion Server's System Image Utility?
    My Workflow is fairly simple:
-Define Image Source (A preconfigured Lion client install on another partition)
-Enable Automated Installation (With Automatic Erase of "Macintosh HD")
-Apply System Configuration (As explained above)
    -Create Image (NetRestore)
The workflow completes everytime without error after 2.5 hours for an 11GB image and the clients NetRestore just fine but the System Configuration Settings remain unchanged.  Help?  Ideas? Experience? Documentation?

    Hi Ed Palma,
    I have the same problem.
The NetBootClientHelper, who sets your System Configuration Settings, is not correct installed in your NetRestoreImage after creating an Image.
I try manually install the NetBootClientHelper in my Master-Installation and create a Image again.
Here are the steps necessary to get the necessary files to manually install the NetBootClientHelper in you Master-Installation.
    1. Create an NetRestore-Image, or use your exsisting Image with System Configuration Settings
    2. Open (mount) in .NBI-Folder your NetInstall.dmg
    3. Goto Packagesa > Extras an Copy these Files to your Desktop/tmp
Here you can find the files do contain the System Configuration Settings, as sharingNames(.plist) an bindingNames(.plist) and the NetBootClientHelper-files an Startup-files.
    4. Goto var > tmp > niu > postinstall an open the installClientHelper.sh with Texedit.
Here you can see which files you must be installed in you Master-Installation so that the NetBootClientHelper automatically starts at the fist boot.
This is a work-a-round, I hope that apple solve this problem with the next update.
Sorry for my bad english and good luck.

The solution I was looking for was to launch Adobe Reader in Protected Mode.
I could not identify issues preventing Protected Mode from starting.  What ended up working, was to do a complete uninstall, followed by a reinstall.  Now we can load Reader in Protected Mode.

  • Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to a problem with your system configuration.

From Adobe website:  "Note that this list is not regularly maintained as Protected Mode now runs transparently in the background and it is unlikely that users will experience issues."
This explanation on the Adobe website does not explain what the problem is with the "system configuration".  What is the system configuration problem?

    Hi Steve,
As mentioned on the troubleshooting page as well normally application like antiviruses, encryption and system maintenance tools causes this kind of problem. These software software intercepts some system calls for the Reader sandbox. Could you please check if you have any of these kind of software installed? Could you please answer following question then I would be in better position to help you?
    1. Version of Reader being used
    2. OS
    3. What happens if you choose launch unprotected? Do you see a failure or Reader launches?
    Thanks

  • Adobe reader cannot open in protected mode due to an incompatibility with your system configuration.

I keep getting the error message: Adobe reader cannot open in protected mode due to an incompatibility with your system configuration.
I have Windows 7 Home basic Service pack 1 and have already uninstalled and re-downloaded Adobe reader XI twice. I have also read other threads on this forum, and
tried the suggestions, including running Kaspersky anti-rootkit, no threats were found.
My Adobe reader shortcut icon shows a small blue and yellow shield in the bottom right (I uninstalled Windows essential protection), but the problem prevails.
I would rather get to the root of the error and fix it and not just disable protection mode!
    Please help.

    Hi,
Please refer to the solution in:- Error: “Acrobat Failed to Load core DLL”.
Also, may want to try disabling all Non-Microsoft Startup Services.
