  • After shutting down Firefox 3.68, an error message reading "Incorrect Function" pops up.

    I upgraded to Firefox 3.68 about four days ago. After shutting down Firefox 3.68, an error message reading "Incorrect Function" pops up. I click "OK." Nothing seems to happen, either good or bad.
    I installed Comodo Internet Security a few days before I upgraded to Firefox 3.68.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == After I upgraded to Firefox 3.68.

    I am the original poster. The problem seems to have nothing to do with my upgrade to Firefox 3.6.8 but with a configuration change I made to System Mechanic after I switched to Comodo Internet Security.

  • How can I eliminate (watch) in videos that read "ERROR: DECODE ERROR"?

    Usually when in a web site (like Fox News) & there's a video to watch I can't watch it due to the message "ERROR: DECODE ERROR". How can I eliminate this & watch the video? Thanks for your input.

    Have you tried to reinstall Flash on your system, uninstall from the control panel, then install from get.adobe.com/flashplayer/‎ and try the video again.

  • Incorrectly Decoded .pdf

    There is a pdf file that is being sent to many employees via email attachment, and 99% of them can open them up from a variety of different phones. A handful are getting the error of "Adobe Reader could not open because not supported or has been damaged(if email it was'nt correctly decoded)"
    I have read many forum responses from others with the same problem, but I have a question that might help narrow this down for me.
    If I open the pdf in notepad and it looks like chinese...what does that mean?

    You don't open PDF files with Notepad, but with Adobe Reader.  Notepad can only open text files.
    Sending encoded documents via e-mail is never a good idea.  Upload the document to a server (using a service like https://sendnow.acrobat.com/), then send the link in the e-mail message.

  • 990FXA-GD80 BIOS temperature reading incorrect?

    I got my board yesterday and i put in an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T CPU with cooler master V8 cooler. I have the Fan Speed on it set to max 2100 RPM and applied artic silver 5. On my old board MSI 890FXA-gd70 the cpu temp in the bios displayed 33-35C however in the 990 it says it is constantly at 53-55C. I took it apart again cleaned the cpu and the v8 with Isotropyl 99% alcohol, reapplied thermal paste (first time i reasoned maybe the layer was too thick so i only applied a small pea sized ammount of AS5 and spread it to thin layer) and again same problem. I then decided to check temps via software. So i installed Win7 fearing the cpu might overheat for some reason but it installed just fine. I downloaded HW Monitor since that program can be installed quickly and read temps on the fly and it displayed that the CPU cores (Cores #0-#5) were 27-28C idle and when i was updating the cores worked up to 35C-36C. I then installed MSI Control Center latets version 2.2.024 and it said cpu temp was 33C and system is 36C. I looked back to HW Monitor and matched System temp with TMPIN2 Temp listed in HW Monitor. TMPIN0 reads 44-45C constantly i reasoned this must be NB temp. I looked back to the bios after rebooting and the temps again were 53C-54C for CPU and 35C-36C for system. Based on readings from HW Monitor, MSI Control Center and AMD Overdrive (i downloaded that one too to be sure) I am going to have to assume that the BIOS temp readings for CPU are incorrect. In HW Monitor there is no reading labeled "TMPIN1" or "CPU" and it was the only program that would say the general temp reading of my CPU. Does anybody else have this problem? Should I just shrug it off and say meh it happens? If for any reason my CPU is running too hot what are the symptoms of overheating? Thank you :smiley:

    Odd you get correct(?) readings from software programs - they have no separate thermometer. Sure, BIOS may be incorrect. That is a common problem, but then your monitoring programs should be up the wall, too. More common is in fact, the BIOS readings are correct and programs are wrong.
    Comparing with a different system is impossible. Case and cooling can not be the same; a case built for a Pentium II wont cope nicely with a 6-core processor of today.
    well apparently its happening to me, and im not the only one. That other dude using water cooling and his bios temps are 20C of true readings. looking at it from a coding perspective maybe its just adding 20 to the temp. by mistake, but i can't say for sure since I am expert in programming languages not so much into BIOS and firmware kinda stuff.

  • Logical Standby SQL Apply Using Incorrect Decode Statement

    We are seeing statements erroring out on our logical standby that have been rewritten (presumably by sql apply) with decode statements that don't appear to be correct. For example, here is one of the rewritten statements.
    update /*+ streams restrict_all_ref_cons */ "CADPROD"."OMS_SQL_STATEMENT" p
    set *"APPLICATION"=decode(:1,'N',"APPLICATION",:2)*,
    "STATEMENT"=dbms_reputil2.get_final_lob(:3,"STATEMENT",:4)
    where (:5='N' or(1=1 and (:6='N' or(dbms_lob.compare(:7,"STATEMENT")=0)or(:7 is null and "STATEMENT" is null)))) and(:8="APPLICATION")
    The problem comes in, we believe, with the attempt to write the value "APPLICATION" to the application column which is only a 10 character field. the value for the :1 bind variable is "N" and the value for :2 is null.
    We see the following error on the logical standby:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kgh_heap_sizes:ds], [0x01FCDBE60], [], [], [], [], [], []
    ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [ACCESS_VIOLATION] [kxtoedu+54] [PC:0x2542308] [ADDR:0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF] [UNABLE_TO_READ] []
    ORA-12899: value too large for column "CADPROD"."OMS_SQL_STATEMENT"."APPLICATION" (actual: 19576, maximum: 10)
    Is this a configuration issue or is it normal for SQL Apply to convert statements from logminer into decode statements?
    We have an Oracle 10.2.0.4 database running on windows 2003 R2 64-bit os. We have 3 physical and 2 logical standby's, no problems on the physical standbys.

    Hello;
    I noticed some of your parameters seem to be wrong.
    fal_client - This is Obsolete in 11.2
    You have db_name='test' on the Standby, it should be 'asadmin'
    fal_server=test is set like this on the standby, it should be 'asadmin'
    I might consider changing VALID_FOR to this :
    VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES)Would review 4.2 Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating a Logical Standby Database of Oracle Document E10700-02
    Document 278371.1 is showing its age in my humble opinion.
    -----Wait on this until you fix your parameters----------------------
    Try restarting the SQL Apply
    ALTER DATABASE START LOGICAL STANDBY APPLY IMMEDIATEI don't see the parameter MAX_SERVERS, try setting it to 8 times the number of cores.
    Use these statements to trouble shoot :
    SELECT NAME, VALUE, UNIT FROM V$DATAGUARD_STATS;
    SELECT NAME, VALUE FROM V$LOGSTDBY_STATS WHERE NAME LIKE ;TRANSACTIONS%';
    SELECT COUNT(1) AS IDLE_PREPARERS FROM V$LOGSTDBY_PROCESS WHERE
    TYPE = 'PREPERER' AND STATUS_CODE = 16166;Best Regards

  • When I open an imported PDF document that contains maths symbols ,those symbols are read incorrectly

    In particular, there are systematic errors so that ,for example,  equals signs in the orignal become minus signs in my opened version and minus signs appear as blanks..
    Here is an error message that I receive
    'cannot extract the embedded font EFNJGD+AdvP4C4E46 Some characters may not display or print properly'
    I am using Adobe X reader with recent updates, Windows 7, A new PC with Word,
    Other UK users don't have the same problem when I forward the guilty PDF files to them
    Any help appreciated !

    It could be the case that the particular font is not available on your system and is not embedded in the PDF either. Hence, some symbols specific to that font are not displayed in the PDF.
    The font could be avilable on the other user's machine, which would be enabling them to see the PDF contents corectly.
    Try and install the same font on your system and see if the problem is resolved.

  • BPM field in tags read incorrectly

    I'm using iTunes 6, and I have all my MP3's tagged with their BPM (used an analyzer on my PC). However, iTunes is not reading a lot of them correctly, and the BPM's show up as rediculous values varying from around 328 to 64428. Some files are fine.
    If I view the tags in any other program, they're fine.
    Any ideas?

    I experienced the same issue and after some research discovered that the cause was MixMeister (the PC program that wrote the TBPM frames) wrote the value with a decimal point which is actually against the original ID3v2 spec, it is required to be an integer. Apparently iTunes for Windows supports reading the 'misformatted' BPM field while iTunes for Mac chokes as we see. As a solution I wrote a small Java app to truncate the fractional values from the TBPM frames. If anyone is interested in using it feel free to contact me at brian(at)jaxzin.com

  • Fscanf reads incorrect value ? -Xcode

  • Apostrophes are read incorrectly

    I am trying to create a pdf that can be read out loud, however, the Read Out Loud tool reads apostrophes as "vertical line" and misreads other symbols such as hyphens.  The source document was created in Word 2003 using mostly Palatino font.  Any idea of what is causing this and how it can be fixed?  What makes this odd is that if I read only one paragraph, it reads correctly.  It's only when I choose to read the entire page or document that this occurs.

    It could be the case that the particular font is not available on your system and is not embedded in the PDF either. Hence, some symbols specific to that font are not displayed in the PDF.

  • CAS Latency reading incorrect and system hanging

    well i searched (maybe not enough) and tried a few things, but i'm stuck.
    at BIOS post screen shows memory CL3, regardless that i have set CL to 2 and ddr voltage to 2.6
    memory:
    Kingston Hyper X
    KHX3200A/1G CL2
    2-3-2-6-1
    2.6V
    2x1GB Stick of PC3200 DDR400
    MoBo:
    k8t neo-fis2r (6702)
    hdd:
    200GB Maxtor SATA (on the VIA slot)
    OS:
    windows xp pro sp2
    also this issue which may or may not be related... after my windows login screen my desktop background comes up but nothing else, and hangs like that for a few minutes, then all of a sudden the rest loads up.  maybe 1 out of every 30 bootups the computer boots right through without hangs.

    Ahh I think I have the answer. A64's can handle up to 4 banks of RAM at the rated specs without dropping back to a slower speed. In Kingstons own specs they show each of these DIMMS at 4 banks each so by using two you have 8 banks of RAM. So your forcing the CPU's memory controller to drop back to get the rated timings. I would get better RAM if it was me. Most 1GB sticks are 2 Banks each so you would stay at the rated speed easy with 2GB of RAM. I know the RAM I have works on that board at the rated speed even though it requires a tad more voltage. I have tested them and had no issues.
    http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX3200A_1g.pdf
    Keep in mind as well that the memory controller is not on the MB but rather in the CPU with any A64 CPU. The only thing the MB does is to keep Bios settings about the RAM which it sends to the Memory Controller at startup. However if the specs are wrong the controller will either balk and not post or it will force the RAM to drop back in speed to work.
    I know this also may help. As you have an A64 stay away from any type of Value RAM as it always seems to hold unpleasant suprises. Stay with a good quality RAM as there is very little difference in prices but can have many issues if you try to save a buck or two.

  • Z87 mpower max reading incorrect temperatures

    So I just installed my new motherboard and processor, an Mpower max with an i7-4770k.  I used 3 different programs (MSIs command center, HWMonitor, and Speedfan) and they all report the same numbers.  Right now my PC is idling at 45C (113F) sys temp and 47C (116.6F) CPU temp.  The ambient temp in this room is 26.6C (80F).  When I measure the actual temperature near the CPU or the hot water line from the H60, or anything at all in the case, I'm not reading the same temps, I'm reading 38C (100F) from the water, and 41C (106F) under the heatsink.
    Right now that's not much of a discrepancy... but under load the temps start reading in the 90s and max out at 100C (212F), meanwhile I'm only measuring a max of 60C (140F).  Does anyone know if this is a known issue with this board?  Or should I exchange it for another one?  I have updated the bios to 1.6 already in hopes it would fix it... but it hasn't.
    For reference... the case is a Corsair 750D, GTX560Ti graphics, 16gb of Gskill ripjaw x memory, 5 hard drives, a samsung 840 pro SSD, and the cooler is a Corsair H60 with arctic silver 5.

    Quote from: PirateDog on 23-December-13, 07:01:28
    Ideal range for temp of the mainboard inside the case is 37C or less. What does it read? Your case has more intake than exhaust with a positive pressure as the result which can create dead air spots. For a CPU cooler, a Zalman CNPS9900Max-B would probably outperform that particular liquid one.
    There actually shouldn't be any positive pressure.  The way the 750D is designed there isn't all that much airflow from the front intakes, so the 140mm and 120mm i have as exhausts should be moving the air through.  Also the ambient temp of the case is 32C (90F).
    I believe my setup is fine, the board is the issue here.  I mostly just want to know if this is a known issue with the board, or if it's just some kinda fluke and that I should exchange it.  I don't want to waste the time exchanging it if they're all going to do the same thing...

  • Disk Utility reading incorrect HD size - cannot format disk

    I have a 250 GB external SATA drive, which I want to format for use with Time Machine. I had a power failure in the middle of the format to HFS+, and now disk utility reads the drive as a 2 Terrabyte drive rather than as a 250 GB drive (and cannot format it or mount it).
    Does anyone have ideas on how to regain access to this drive?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks neutron. I am trying that now - Disk Utility tells me that it will take 25 days and 19 hours to complete the erase, but I'm willing to let it run.
