Reader list icon

How do I get my Reader List icon back on my iPad?

If you are running iOS 6, quit Safari completely and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Eyeglasses reading list icon

The eyeglasses reading list icon is missing from my toolbar.  How do I get it back?

    Hi nhollandsmith,
I asked an Apple One to One Instructor about this recently and this is what they told me to do.  When you find something you'd like to add to your reading list, first click on the "bookmark" icon in the upper left corner of the toolbar.  That will reveal "bookmarks" and the "reading list" glasses icon we're familiar with underneath it.  Click on the glasses icon and then just drag the web address down into the reading list column.  Hope that helps!

  • Reading list icon keeps disappearing

I am using OSX 10.6.8, I use the reading list icon a lot.. the pair of glasses on the left of the toolbar, but it keeps disappearing every day. I have gone into Customize toolbar but it disappears from there also.
Any advise on how or why it keeps vanishing would be more than welcome as frustrating the **** out of me..

Might be corrupted Safari preferences ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Switch to OFF if there are any installed, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, uninstall one extension at a time until you find the that is causing incompatibility issues with the Reading List.

  • Where is the "reading list" icon in Safari 8.0.4?

Where is the "reading list" icon in Safari 8.0.4? I need to put it in my menu bar but I can't seem to find it in "Customise toolbar" or "Prefs"

OK, your are looking for "Add to Reading List" button.
It is available by default but hidden.
Move the mouse pointer to the very left in the Safari address bar, a "+" sign in a circle will appear.
Click it to add an item to Reading list.

  • After Yosemite upgrade, my reading list icons are gone.

After Yosemite upgrade, my safari reading list icons are gone. I know this is a tiny matter, but finding stuff with a pic is sure easier than reading the list over and over. Any help? I've done the "search" help thing to no avail. I'm not all mr. tech when it comes to apple, but this can't be rocket science. Maybe brain surgery?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did anyone ever answer this because I agree that it is  a lot easier when looking for a certain site you need ? But strangely some icons do still show in the reading list but not all of them, just a few. Any suggestions ??

  • Reading list icon disappeared...

Hi, my harddrive recently died on me. They changed it, and then I used Time Machine to restore my computer. The problem is in Safari, it seems like I lost the icone for ''reading list''  (the glasses icone). I tried to update it but didn't do anything.

Did you check the readinglist prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page?
Note that the "Add page to Reading List" is only visible when you hover the location bar.
"Enter Reader View" will only appear if the content of the web page meets certain conditions.

  • HT5271 The reading list icon will not work.

I can save to the reading list but but it will not open every time and just keeps getting worse.

Quit Safari. Disable bookmark synchronization, if applicable.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar. Copy the following line into the text box that opens, then press return:
    ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the Finder window open. Relaunch Safari. Your bookmark lists will be empty, but they can be recovered. Add a few items to the reading list. Test. Same problem?

  • How do I make the Reading List window in Safari disappear

All of a sudden, a very irritating window or tab opened on the left side of my Safari Window asking me if I want to add the current page to my "Reading List".  I don't have a reading list, I don't want a reading list, and I want this window to go away.  How do I make it vanish?

    1. Click "View" menu in the Safari menu bar.
From the drop down select "Hide Reading LIst".
       or
    2. Click the Reading List icon Reading glasses in the Safari bookmarks bar.
         The left most icon.
    Best.

  • How do I make "Reading List" permanent?

I really like "Reading List," the part of Lion you can open by tapping the glasses image on the left side your Alias bar.
I have Reading List on all the time. However, when I turn Safari off and open Safari later in the day, Reading List isn't there. I go up to the Reading List icon, and the links appear again.
Is there any way to have the links in Reading List appear whenever I turn on Safari? Short of that, is there a keyboard shortcut to enable Reading List with a single key?

Okay, I did find a keyboard shortcut - Cmd-Shift-L - that will bring up your own Reading List. Reading List is one of those features that people don't seem to talk about, but it's as handy as top additions to the MacOS, in the same league as Spotlight.
That said, I can't seem to find any command - from Terminal or anywhere else - that will allow a user to boot into Safari with Reading List loading at the same time.
Does anyone else know how to customize this feature to automatically load Reading List while booting into Safari? Or is this a case to call Apple for software enhancements?
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to revert back to black text in my reading list?

I just updated Safari to version 6.1 and my reading list changed to white text on a gray background which is harder for me to read than the older black text on a light background.  How do I revert back to black text?
Also, clicking the older version Reading List icon (eyeglasses) used to show or hide the reading list but no longer does.  I must go to the View menue or use the multi key shortcut to do this now - not nearly as convenient for me.  Is it possible to restore this function?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Try transaction SCC1. With this transaction you can copy the configuration done under one request from one client to other client from same system.
For two different systems, check with Basis team for transports or else opt for BC sets.
    Thanks
    Vinay

  • Safari reading list missing

Reading list WAS missing. OS reinstalled. It workd for a while, now is gone, along with AutoFill, which appears but doesn't work.

Pages that support Reader will show Reader in blue right side of the Safari address bar.
    Reader Integration
When you select an article in your Reading List, Safari presents a Reader button on the right of the Smart Search Field. Click the button and the article appears without distracting content. You can also zoom, send the article using Mail, and print from the heads-up display that appears in Reader when you hover over the bottom of an article.
    Automatic Reader
If you view an item in your Reading List with Reader and then select another item in your list, Safari presents the new item with Reader.
From here >  Apple - Safari - Learn about the features available in Safari.
Click View from the Safari menu bar. From the drop down menu click Show Reading List
Click View again then click Customize Toolbar. You can drag the Reading List icon to the Safari menu bar.

Thanks for the question. The following article will assist you in finding your OS X version:

In OS X Mavericks, the reading list is managed from the Safari sidebar. You can add a page to the reading list by clicking the “+” next to the address bar:

There is no 'Edit' button in the reading list under the 'glasses' icon. There is no way I can delete that webpage. I erased the iphone but it did not work. Hey virginiefromfr,
I found this on deleting items from your reading list:
