Reader update won't install--over and over

Adobe's install procedure fails numerous times over several months. I see no way to provide
feedback about the failure. Almost no information is given with the feedback. This strikes me
as amateurish software development & maintenance.
--Mischlbay

You need to install all previous updates before you can install this one. If you have done so and it still won't install. Then uninstall Reader. Run the Microsoft installer cleanup tool, then try to re-install all from scratch.

My macbook air says I have a software update to install and In order to do that I have to restart it first. After I restart it, it doesn't do anything and I do it over and over and it still doesn't update. Please Help

The order is generally as follows:
    Download the update
    Allow the update to install
The update will force a restart of your computer
So I suspect you are simply misreading the directions regarding the timing of the restart.

I am assuming the phone was working prior to you installing IOS 6? Did you use itunes to install IOS 6 or just run from the phone?
When I tried to do the Over The Air update to IOS6 on my iPhone 4, it errored out and I had to connect it to iTunes and select "Restore" from the summary screen after iTunes finds the phone is connected. If this works for you, it will go through a couple of reboots that take a few minutes to complete. It should then give you the option to start with a fresh new phone or to use one of your previous backups to load your contacts and other information, provided you have backed up the phone previously.
I hope this helps you my friend!

  • Trouble Downloading Updater receive error message OVER and over again

Hello! I have that little folder picture on my ipod and when I went to the support site, it said that I needed to download the updater. I signed in and clicked download. The next thing that happens is that I get this message:
Our apologies but there was an error with your session (perhaps you were away from your computer for a while). Click here to return to the download page. It happens over and over again and won't let me download the updater. I have a Compaq Presario V2000 laptop with Windows Xp. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I hope this is the right forum to ask this

Is your iPod connected while you're trying to download this file? If so, I'd try a different approach. Turn off your computer to get rid of all temporary files. Then, when you reboot, download the updater file to your desktop. (When the file starts to download, tell it to Save to your Desktop--it shouldn't "Run"--it should "Save" and then you can click on the down arrow and choose desktop.) After the download completes, then hook up your iPod and try to update it again. Is it successful now?
If you can update your iPod, save the update file to your computer, incase you have to go back to this version at some future point. Right click on the desktop icon and send the file to your preferred storage disk.

  • How do I update my iOS? I have the iPad 1 and have tried over and over to try and update the iOS version to iOS 5.1, nothing works it will start updating then say that it did not update? PLEASE HELP!!!

How do I update my iOS? I have the iPad 1 and have tried over and over to try and update the iOS version to iOS 5.1, nothing works it will start updating then say that it did not update? PLEASE HELP!!! P.s I'm running newest version of iTunes.

Connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes back up your iPad. After it does that disconnect it and go into your settings under general and under reset and select erase all content. After you do that reconnect to your computer, open iTunes and follow the screen options to set up your iPad as new. Once it is done doing that see if you have the latest version of iOS installed and if it does then either download gain the apps you had before or restore them from the backup made previous.

  • Install Disc 2 of Panther Repeats Over and Over?

Attempted to upgrade an older 800 MHz iMac running 10.2 to Panther, using Panther's Install Discs. After apparently successful install of disc one, the optimization froze at 17% and I had to force quit. When I restarted, the installer window came up and asked for disc 2, but the install seems to be installing over and over. Should I try installing Disc 1 again and hope that the optimization doesn't freeze this time? Is it possible that's related to the install loop disc 2 is showing?
PS My previous post articulated what happened when I tried to upgrade 10.2 to 10.2.4 off of Apple's website : I got the blue screen. That is when I decided to see if I could install Panther. Maybe my problems started with the 10.2.4 download?

    Hi, WB.
Maybe my problems started with the 10.2.4 download?
Quite likely. When an update fails, it's usually because something the updater expects to find in a particular place or condition is not found in the expected place or condition. This can be because the user has moved or altered it, or the hard disk directory has been corrupted or damaged by a forced restart, power outage, or other untoward event. So it's always advisable to run all the standard maintenance and Disk Utility repair procedures, and generally make sure your HD and file structures are in the best possible shape, before applying any software update — particularly an OS update.
If you performed an OS X 10.2.4 update that wasn't completed successfully, and then you tried to perform an Upgrade Install of OS X 10.3, the 10.3 Installer undoubtedly found your previous Jaguar installation in disarray — quite possibly scrambled enough to prevent the updating or replacement of some of its files. That would likely result in the 10.3 installation failing too, leaving you with an unusable mix of updated and outdated OS components.
Try using the Archive & Install method of installing OS X 10.3 instead of the Upgrade Install method. If that fails too, you'll have to back up your data and then perform an Erase & Install.

  • ITunes asking for Password over and over, wont open, won't quit

Hi All... My MAC is Driving me mad, please help!!!!
I'm pretty sure this is a Cookie problem from some of the other threads I've found and because it started shortly after insaling "Safari Cookie" - which I have now removed.
    Senario is;
If I dare to open iTunes 10.6 (latest one) it will open ok then ask for my Apple ID and PW which I enter again and again and again... sometime with a Remember box (which I tick) and sometimes not.
I have persisted with this wondering whether it will have an end when maybe all of my DL songs are individualy recognised perhaps, but after pasting it in well over 100 times I gave up.  I've also tried Cancelling the request but it just keeps asking me over and over untill it crashes.
On one thread I saw that it could be because the something in the way iTune Store's PW are formated/storeage/processed has changed and I should go to to the iTunes store and reset my PW, but if I attempt to open the iTunes Store iTunes crashes - evertime so I can't do it.  I did manage to reset it by clicking Forgot PW but after changing it no it made diference.
Inscidentally, when it does crash, it reopens whether I click "reopen" or not.  If I quit, it reopens, if I fource close, it reopens.  To reboot I have to Restart, Force Close, Force Close Force Close untill the Restart App gets to close when Itunes is in it's DownTime of the loop.
Just thought of something odd too.... after doing the PW change online, I tried entering the new one (over and over for a while) and then looked at the keychain and it still contained the old PW.
I've tried reinsalling iTunes, deleting all cookies and the Keychain PW (not the certificate as I'm worried I'll loose my perchased stuff?). Changing PW in Apple.com, changing Cookie settings in Safari to "accept all", used Onyx to repair boot and done all the automated maintainance/cleaning/permissions.
I can't think of any other useful info... but ask anything you need to know and please help if think you can!!
    Thanks
    James

  • I put my ipod on voicecontrol by accident so i typed in my password it said it was wrong i typed it in over and over and it said connect to itunes so I did then i updated it and it told me to restore it still says to connect to itunes please help.

I put my ipod on voice control by accident so i typed in my password because I wanted to listern to my music it said it was wrong. So i typed it in over and over again until it said connect to itunes so I did. Then while I was at it I updated it I waited 30 mins and then I couldn't turn it on. When it finally did turn on it still said please connect to itunes. So i restored it and rebooted it everything. And it still says connect to itunes. I go on itunes and it says ipod touch is in restore mode unlock password. Well I can't do that if my ipod is disabled. Please help.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Can't update or aquire new loops. also isn't reconzied by app store and keeps downloading the app over and over instead of updating.

Was playing around with 6.0.5 and noticed I had loops I could download. tried to do so and was told to try to download now or later. I tired to do so and it took me to the app store's update page but it showed no new updates available. I tried to uninstall GB and I for some reason don't have permission to do so even though i'm the only user. also the app store doesn't recognize that I have GB even downloaded at all. so I tried just downloading it from the store and ended up with two GB applications. one that was around 300mb and the other 800mb. the one I would download from the store would never start but would just try to update over and over again. I would delete it and restart my mac and try it again and same thing. I can't seem to do anything else. I can't get any newer versions from the app store because they don't run and I can't update the one version of GB that does function. so I'm kind of stuck with an incomplete copy of GB and a copy that doesn't run and keeps trying to download for 15mins over and over again.
I really have idea what else I can do...

    All I can suggest
    - Is to download the update file on onother computer/network and try to copy to your computer and try again
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
