Reader v9 doesn't print
Hi i brought a second hand hp 1100 printer off [unnecessary url deleted by host]
i can print fine from Ms office, paint in fact everything apart from adobe acrobat reader.
When i try to print nothing happens..
Any advice is the printer faulty?
Try deleting and re-installing the printer driver. As a work around try print as image command.

Hi everyone, my Reader doesn't print any PDF, even though the other programs do it regularly.
I've tried to uninstall the program and clean the configurations file but nothing has changed.
From another user account I can print with reader, so I think it's a configuration problem.

Thanks for your reply. My OS is Windows 7, but I was able to fix it by downloading the Patch from the Adobe website. Have a great day.

Adobe Reader 9.1.3 Doesn't Print on Mac 10.5.8
I have just installed an HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g printer. It prints from every program I have tested, including Safari, Pages, and TextMate. However, it does not print from Adobe Reader 9.1.3
I am running the most current version of Leopard, have run Software Update and updated everything, and have run Check for Updates in Adobe Reader (it reports that there are no updates available)

I am connected via wireless to the router, and then wireless from the router to the printer. Again, every other program prints without problem, so it is not a connection problem
I had seen a post about problems printing with Reader that suggested opening the Preview mode, and then printing from that, but when I click the Preview button, I get the message "Preview is not supported".
My workaround (other than not using Reader!) is to click Print, then open the expanded Print Dialog (click on the little down arrow), click on Advanced..., then select "Print as image". When I do that, it prints without problem.

[url deleted by host]To clarify my previous post, I had already seen http://forums.adobe.com/message/1770581 . I mentioned in my post that I get the message "Preview not supported" when I click the Preview button from the print dialog in Adobe Reader, and thus concluded that the "Preview" workaround discussed in that thread wasn't helping me.
However, re-reading that post, they were talking about using the Mac "Preview" application to print the pdf file. Like every other application (other than Reader) I have tried, the Mac's Preview application prints just fine, and is another workaround.
The only program that doesn't print for me is Adobe Reader.
BTW, I also have an Intel chip in my MacBook Pro.
Re-installing Leopard, as suggested by one post in that thread, is not a reasonable option for this problem.
In fact, since Preview allows me to view and print .pdf's , my solution is probably just going to be not to use Adobe Reader. In fact, had I not been new to the Mac, I would have known that I didn't need Adobe Reader at all.
However, I'm glad this happened, in the sense that I use CS3 on the PC, and had considered moving to CS4 on the Mac. However, since Adobe apparently hasn't figured out how to get printing to work on a Mac from their flagship product (!), I will be sure to do a lot of testing of CS4 before considering buying the upgrade. -
Fillable form on iPad doesn't print from Adobe Reader. Is there a fix yet?
I can fill in a fillable form but when I print it the filled-in text doesn't print. I just get a blank form. I'm using the latest Reader version on an iPad 2. there a solution available yet?
It should work with the update to Reader 10.4. "Enhaned compatibility with AirPrint means improved printing of completed forms as well as documents with comments."
I don't have AirPrint on my printer to test. Is your printer AirPrint compatible?

It's possible the fields were set not to print... Impossible to say for sure without seeing the file.

I believe this is all the relevant information from the log. I've not had any success finding this issue in the wiki or in the forums. Google's turned up no help. I'd really like getting this printer to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Last edited by Yaro (2014-02-25 19:44:17)I can't find that printer on the canon eu support website (canon uses model numbers on that site, not series designations) , and canon printers are not easy to get to work well on archlinux.
However there are 2 aur packages that provide the UFRII driver :
- cndrvcups-lb (built from source)
- cndrvcups-lb-bin (uses the binaries) -
Epson SX218 doesn't print (client-error-document-format-not-supported)
Hi there,
I'm currently trying to figure out how to get my Epson Stylus SX 218 to work. Unfortunately, cups (or the printer or whatever causes my problems...) obviously just doesn't want me to get this to work.
Here's what I've done so far:
I installed everything as described in the CUPS wiki article (so ghostscript and all the foomatic-stuff is installed, usblp is NOT blacklisted, see why below)
I installed epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-sx218 from AUR
I started cups...
Nothing worked (Printer not recognized, either with or without blacklisted usblp module...)
I searched the forums for a solution
I installed cups-usblp and reinstalled all the cups stuff
Printer got recognized! Yay!
So, now the printer is set up in cups using the avasys driver. But...
It doesn't print!
When I try to print a test page via the cups webinterface it keeps telling me
Unsupported format "application/vnd.cups-banner".

ORARRP doesn't actually do any printing itself. Via COM/Active-X, it calls the appropriate program that corresponds to the type of output, and then this program does the actual printing. For PDF, it calls Acrobat Reader to print the document. Acrobat Reader displays the printer dialog to let you choose which printer to use, and then when you click OK, Acrobat Reader prints the document and sends it to the printer.
I expect that you'll find that when you use Acrobat Reader yourself on this machine it has exactly the same problems with this particular printer configuration. If so, you'll need to contact Adobe for further assistance.

Hello.
I've recently bought a brand new HP Laserjet PRO MFP125nw printer. The functions seemed really nice and the price was acceptable. I've brought it to my home, installed it following the manual, connected it to Wi-Fi etc. It generally works fairly well. PDF files are printed perfectly well, the scaning function works and it's generally a nice piece of technology.
The only problem is that it just doesn't want to pring Microsoft Word documents from my PC. It prints it perfectly when I try to print .docx from my smartphone using the app, but it doesn't respond when I try doing it from the PC.
My Office version is 2007 Enterprise. Do you have any idea what I should do?

I'll try plugging it into the wall and directly to the PC with a USB, we'll see if it works out.
About Word, i've already tried reinstalling Word, even installed a 2003 version to check if it works with that. Well it doesn't. And as i've written before, I tried turning some .docx files to .pdf using a converter, but it still doesn't print them.

HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless - Doesn't print black
I set up a new Officejet 8000 back in about August of 2009. I never used it much and it looks like I have about 29 pages which have gone through it. Now I'm trying to use it and the black doesn't print at all. I have gone through multiple print tests, etc. and the self test even just comes up in magenta.
The ink level on the black is about 50% so it looks like there is plenty of ink. I have also taken the print head out and shaken it multiple times.
I read another post that indicated these printers had problems and it sounds like a warranty replacement but it just seems awfully early to have any problems with it. Any thoughts on how to resolve or should I just call HP?i have about 11 of these crappy printers on my site, i think i have sent more back to HP than i have actively working.
the current issue i have is also the black printing problem, its getting to the point where im considering recommending another supplier. HP's quality have gone though the floor with the recent crap they are producing..
cartridges are fine, even though the Hp rep i spoke to blamed the issue on the cartridge, it works fine in another machine, and a new cartridge also has the same fault. the print heads are also fine & replaced & tested in a working machine, same fault. all the cleaning pages & stages made no differance.
only solution - wave good bye and post it back to HP - yet again..
come on HP you used to care about your products and your customers, but lately you just churn our any piece of rubbish.
why have you let your standard slip soo far.. why dont you care about your customers anymore. -
I have a new PC laptop with Windows 7 and Office 2010. I have an Airport Extreme, and installed Bonjour on my laptop. Bonjour "sees" my printer. When I try to print, the printer lights up -- but doesn't print. anyone have an idea? Thanks Gregg

As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.

Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 loaded fine, but doesn't print.

I just loaded Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 and it loaded fine, but doesn't print.
When I go to print a PDF, after entering the file name, an Acrobat software setup box asks for the serial # or "continue to use product on a trial basis".
I select the continue option, click "next" the box disappears - then nothing happens. This repeats each time I try and print, even after a reboot.
Having selected Acrobat as the default printer did not change anything. Help! DaveYou may have to update Acrobat. I am not sure that AA9.0 works correctly with Win 7.

DaveYou may have to update Acrobat. I am not sure that AA9.0 works correctly with Win 7.

When I print a Word for Mac document to a shared printer (that is connected to my iMac) from my Macbook Pro, print preview looks fine but the printed page has too much blank space at the top and doesn't print the bottom few lines. I have tried to adjust the margins and the page setup settings but to no avail. It used to print fine until recently. Is there a way to fix it so that the printer prints what print preview shows?
I should add that when I e-mail this document to myself and print it directky from the iMac, it prints fine.

Pdf creation - can it be set up so the background doesn't print, and text defaults to black?
Hi, I am creating a portfolio with a black background and white text. I am anticipating that most of the time it will just be viewed on screen, but in-case it gets printed, I want to know if there is a way that you can change the print view so that the background is not printable, and any text defaults to black. I have noticed when printing web pages this often happens, but not sure if it's possible through InDesign.

KarenHere is a way that this can be done: Convert the background into a button, this will allow you to set the background to be visible in PDF, but doesn't print. Note: with the button selected, you can access the visibility options from the flyout menu of the button panel. Copy the frame containing the reverse text and convert it to a button and apply the same visibility (visible in PDF, but doesn't print). Paste text in same position, make it black and send it to back (or create a layer behind everything and place text here). The black text does not have to be a button. When you export, make sure to have interactive elements selected. In PDF, background and reverse type will be viewable, but allowing the black text to print.

FCE4 serial number not valid, Lion
I just did a clean install of Lion and wish to install FCEv4 but the previously valid license number -although typed correctly and double checked- is now suddenly coined 'not valid' according to the installer. Is there a workaround ?

Dragged a .pdf onto the iTunes icon in the dock. Connected iPhone & opened iTunes. .pdf appears in Books. Selected it to sync. Synched. Appeared momentarily on phone, then disappeared. I had deleted the original file from my desktop. Is this a bug or
