Reader X does not work!

My new Win 7 (64 bit) with Reader X installed, will not read my Wells Fargo Bank Statements. With Reader 9, it read the pdf statement just fine. I called Adobe and got the $39.00 bit, which I'm not happy about. I can't find on the Adobe web site how to download a previous version.

But are you getting some error messages or does the PDF simply does not open up?
Have you tried disabling the protected mode from within Reader X preferences?

In password protected files user is not allowed to add any comments.

Protected Mode of Reader X does not work if explorer.exe is not a parent process [2008R2 RDS/TS]

We are running IE8 as a RemoteApp on Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services "Terminal Server". It has Reader X installed.
When opening linked PDF document, it shows the protected mode "fail" dialog.
If, instead, explorer.exe is launched as remote app, and ie8 is started from explorer,
opening PDF files in protected mode works.
This is regardless of settings, 32/64 bitness, whether iexplore is launched as remote app or
in full RDP session using "alternate shell:". If explorer is not parent of the process subtree,
protected mode doesn't work.
What might be the issue, and is there a workaround that does not involve starting explorer.exe?

This problem is fixed in the latest Reader X update 10.1.

Reader X does not work as an OLE server?

I updated Reader 9 to X and noticed that I cannot embed PDF documents any more into another application (for example in MS Word I used Insert -> Object -> From File). With Reader 9 everything worked fine.
I have tried to embed PDF files using several applications and I have used Windows XP and 7 and the result is same. I do not have English Windows available so I cannot provide exact error message.
Is this bug or is OLE server functionality really removed from Reader?

Nice to hear that this is actually a bug. Otherwise we would have been in trouble...
I advice our customers to wait until next Reader update and not to turn off that setting permanently.

Adobe Reader Installer does not work

I am trying to install Adobe reader on Windows 8. I downloaded Adobe Reader the Clicked the downloaded file and gave the permission. Then the Adobe Reader Installer window will show up but it's empty and has nothing on it. When I close it won't close either. I have to use windows task manger to close it. I tried to download it with another browser but still getting the same problem. I made sure that flash plug-in is working too. I used the direct link. Still can not install it.

The email feature in adobe reader XI does not work with windows 7

When I try to attach a PDF directly to an email from within Reader, my gmail login screen flashes briefly and then disappears without allowing me to enter my password (and therefore will not connect to my webmail/gmail)

Hmmm - I do not even get to the Gmail page; all I get is
...and I do not know where to specify a password for my Gmail account.
I will do some more testing later, but for now I have to go out for a while.

O my old e-reader app does not work any more. In the reading room are 8 old books autorised with my old (unkwown ADobe ID account number and pass word.

How can I synchronise my old unknown ADOBE ID account number with the new one? ([email protected])
Is there another way to place the old books tothe new reading room of the new app. Bol.com.ebooks?

Adobe reader x does not work while in firefox but works with internet explorer

while in firefox 6.0 i cannot open pdf files with adobe reader x. how do configure firefox correctly as i have no problem with internet explorer opening pdf files? os is win7 ultimate.

Built in PDF reader plugin does not work in Safari 6.0

Safai 6.0 won't open PDF screens within a web link. Instead it shows a blank screen.
Any help to fix this problem would be great

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy / paste: /LIbrary/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go then move the Adobe PDF (or just PDF) browser plugin to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Built-in pdf reader plugin does not work in 5.1.7

Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

ADOBE ACROBAT READER PLUGIN DOES NOT WORK

when I click on a pdf document, nothing but a white page shows up (I do have the correct Reader plugin and it appears enabled.)

I had the same problem after updating Firefox to version 4.0 and Acrobat Reader to Version X. For me (Win XP) what solve the problem was deleting the Acrobat Reader Plugin (nppdf32.dll) in the Firefox plugin folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins). So now there is only one Acrobat Reader Plugin left namely the one in the Acrobat Reader plugin folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\Browser).

This.print(pp) with interactive type silent or automatic does not work after upgrade acrobat reader 9 to acrobat reader 11

After an upgrade of acrobat reader 9 to acrobat reader 11 the automatic printing of a pdf. The pdf is opened, but the print does not happen. With acrobat reader 9 it works. But with acrobat reader 11 the printing does not happen.
I discovered when you specify pp.constants.interactionLevel.full it works on acrobat reader 11. But when you specify pp.constants.interactionLevel.silent or pp.constants.interactionLevel.automatic it does not work on acrobat reader 11. But with the full option we have a dialog print box
we do not want.
In our jsp we load a pdf document and create a message handler to detect the print events of a pdf document that is in an <object> tag.

From the JS API Reference of the print method:
Non-interactive printing can only be executed during batch, console, and menu
events.
Outside of batch, console, and menu events, the values of bUI and of interactive are ignored

Excel File read using WebUtil does not work. Gives java.lang.NoSuchMethodEr

We have a form which reads from an Excel File. The form works in development env., but in the live env when we deployed the form it does not work. Form fails @ the 1st call to Client_OLE2 where we set the Excel file to read.
For both the envs. the values are given here:

I sounds like you might have missed a configuration step on your Linux application server (AS). I recommend you go back through the configuration of your AS and verify each step of the WebUtil Runtime Setup Checklist was completed correctly. Seach the Forms Help system on "Runtime Setup Checklist" for a copy of the checklist.

I don't want to mess things up even more! Geez--I'm almost 60 years old,
need to work and this might be costing me a job. I'm not 20 and text and
e-mail etc every day. I'm just asking for a little help that as I see it ,
is due to a "glitch" with Adobe's software. They can easily in their
technological minds put a warning on anything before someone downloads

major corporations, are in it for the money. What has happened to customer

I need a step by step with my hand held and so it won't screw up things even
MORE. Adobe...get your customer service and your software together...This is
draining. I may lose a job over it. I need to have my computer running well
at this point in time as there is no extra time to spend dealing with
software issue that are a result of Adobe's software incompatibility.
I was on the phone for TWO hours last night telling people exactly what was
going on. I even read the error message word for word. No one would help me
unless I coughed up the money that I don't have...and in addition I will

PDF Portfolio does not work with iOS Reader 11.3.2 on iOS 7.1.2

Well this is upsetting. I created a PDF form with several pages of the same form (it's a travel log).
My hoping to use Adobe Reader to complete the form and save back as a week at a time won't work.
I created the form using Acrobat Pro 9 from CS5.
Does anyone know if a PDF form in a Portfolio should work with Adobe Reader on the iPad2/
Also, what can I use that works with forms as a portfolio?
