Reader X prints only color

Hi
I have windows 7 and reader x. I print everything else in color, but this PDF file it prints only in black? Specific file: producer "acrobat distiller" 9.4.6 (windows), version: 1.5 (acrobat 6.x). When I click print, then properties,under quick print it shows "color mode" that can be changed to black. I check under basic it shows color in there as well. But it still prints only in black?

This is a screen capture of the print preview of a document I was printing with Adobe Reader X on my HP 6500A-e printer. These black streaks are at top and about 2/3 way down on this example. It varies. The blotches, lines, whatever you want to call them, occurred at random on various pages of the document, using various printer preferences (varied quality, black/color, double-sided vs. single-sided, color vs. black ink, etc.). This happened with several PDF documents. It just started happening today, Feb. 1st, 2012. The lines don't show up until you print or do a print preview. They aren't there when you view the page in the Reader. What is going on? Using Adobe Reader X, version 10.1.2.

Adobe Reader 9 prints only one page

We have a Windows lab that we just updated to Reader 9, and now are having problems with some PDF's and only being able to print the first page. We first uninstalled version 8 before installing 9, and all the computers were cast with Symantec Ghost and we are using Deep Freeze.
It seems to be an issue with postscript printers, as we don't have the problem if you print to a file (XPS document writer) and then proceed to print from there. We've tested it with the IE plugin and also the application and still get the same result. The problem doesn't happen if you select "print as image" in the Adobe printing preferences. However, to set this as the default action it seems that you have to set it in the registry for every printer that is installed.
Does anyone know of any fixes for this? Thanks.

               Change Font and Resource Policy : was to change this to "Send for Each Page".

How do I only allow certain users to print in color?

Operating System Installed: Windows 7 Enterprise (64bit)
I work at a K-12 school and purchased the HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer (CE712A) for use in our computer lab. I would like to know if it is possible to have it so that only certain users can print in color (possibly put a password on it). I know the cost for color is higher, and therefore, would like it so that students have to approve through teacher if they want to print in color.
We are running it on our Print Server (networked) not through USB.

That's a very good question actually. In my corporate networks, we are talking about hundreds of laser printers and the ONLY thing we can do: only allow people access to a set of mono laser printers, not all printers. For example, the following printer is using B&W as default but can't stop users to print in colors if they could access to the resourse:

If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.

In the Print & Scan system preferences, does it indicate it is using a generic printer driver or a Gutenprint driver?
Also, if you click on Options & Supplies, you might want to check and see if has to be enabled. That kind of sounds odd though.
Another thing is it might not be showing. If the bottom of the print dialog has a button that says "Show Details," click it. Then, you can change settings in the popup menu.

My f4180 prints in color eventhough I have it set to print in black only.

I have been using my F4180 for a couple of years now. I have always used HP cartridges. For some reason, it will now only print in color. I installed a new black cartridge and the printer recognizes and that there is ink in the cartridge. When I remove the color cartridge it prints in black just fine, but as soon as I reinstall the color cartridge it prints only in color. I have never changed the printer preferences to anything but black only. I have run the diagnostic and it says everything is just fine, as long as I leave the color cartridge in. Any ideas on what to do?
Another issue is that in Print Preview all I see is a blank page. It prints fine but shows absolutely nothing in print preview. That is new as well. Any ideas on that?

Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem & the Startup right after that for clues.

In the Print dialog, select the Color Matching tab and then select Vendor Matching.

Group Policy for "let printer determine color" in Adobe Reader X

I need to make a group policy to activate the "let printer determine color" for a huge group of users/pcs, as the reader prints the wrong colors now.
It only needs to activate this single thing. The pcs are running Adobe Reader 10.1.0. Can anyone please help me?

Hi,
If your eprint jobs are printed in Black and White and not in color, then please go to www.hp.com/go/eprintcenter and then type your username and password and log in to the HP Eprint center. Then click on te printer and then click on Eprint Settings button.
Then click on print option tab and select Color and click on Save.
This will resolve the issue.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve color not printing on your Deskjet 3522. If this does not resolve the issues please provide some further details - what is the operating system on your computer? Does the printer make color copies properly?

Print only primary colors

Hello there,
I just bought 2 new cartridges for my printer HP Photosmart c4600 All-in-one series and tried to print docs in color.
- 1 HP 300 (CC640EE) Remanufactures High Capacity Black Ink cartridge
- 1 HP 300 (CC643EE) Remanufactures High Capacity Colour Ink cartridge.
However, it only print in blue, pink and yellow (no orange or other or so). Could you let me know how I can solve this?
We use it for our social entreprise and have many posters and flyers to print on daily basis and the quality is very bad.

I would also suggest using HP Genuine ink cartridges, not remanufactured cartridges, as it is a possibility the issue could lie with those cartridges.

Prints in color even when I check B&W only

Finally upgraded to Snow Leopard and now my Canon Pixma IP4300 only prints in color even when I check B&W only.

Someone else posted a similar symptom recently. They also had upgraded to 10.6 and were stating that their Canon printer was not printing in b&W. But the cause to their issue was that they were trying to use a B&W preset that they had created for the previous OS X. That preset was made for a different driver compared to the one they were now using on 10.6. When they actually changed the menu to Quality & Media and selected Grayscale the document did then print in b&w. So then all that was required was for them to delete the older preset and create a new b&w preset using the appropriate settings.
I wonder if you have a similar scenario because I am printing fine to multiple Canon inkjets in grayscale, so I don't believe it is something you need to report to Canon as has been suggested...

OJ Pro 8625 will not print in color only shades of gray

Printer was purchased two days ago. The printer will not print in color only black and shades of gray. alignment test on 2/28/15 showed color. cartridges show full.

I saw your post about how you cannot print in color, and I would like to refer you to try the steps I previously recommended in another thread. The printer itself prints in color, therefor there is most likely settings on your Mac that need to be changed.

Color Laserjet 2605dn prints only grayscale in Windows 7

Over the weekend I upgraded 2 PCs to Win7. I downloaded the most recent Universal Printer Driver from the HP website (dated Feb 18, 2011). The problem? From some applications, the printer now prints only in grayscale. For instance, all output from CorelDraw X5 is grayscale. In MS Word 2010, most output is grayscale, but curiously "Word Art" prints in color even when all else prints in grayscale. Opening a bitmap (photo, for instance) in MS Picture Editor, it will print in full color, but the same photo opened in CorelDraw X5 or imported into MS Word will print only in grayscale.
I have uninstalled the printer driver package (using Microsoft Management Console) and reinstalled it, with the same results.
Help!

I do not know of any availability of a previous driver for Windows 7 32bit for this printer. Did you try both drivers from this page:
Drivers for 2605dn
The drivers listed for PCL6 and Postscript, are different in size, maybe one will fix the problem. Make sure to uninstall one before trying the other.
