Please someone let me know what i need to write in ProtectedModeWhitelistConfig.txt to make MyPlugin work even when the Reader X Protected mode is enabled.

2. When i Clicked on my one of MyPlugin button , I was getting class not registered error and logfile entries is as shown below. but it works fine if the Protected-Mode is disabled.

Nearly everything is working however i can't use the 'REG_ALLOW_ANY' key.

Also note that on Win7/Vista, due to UAC restrictions, even when running as admin, processes don't get access to write to HKLM. So adding a rule for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE would probably not work. And anyway, the sandbox doesn't need to write to HKLM anyway, so that rule is unnecessary.
This doesn't make sense?! What's the policy file and that specific key for if i can't access the registry? But this would be an explanation why it doesn't work. Strange though why it gives me the 'Custom policy syntax error' and not a 'your key is probably right but i don't have the rights to access the registry' error...

MyPlugin works fine in AdobeReader-9 but fails in AdobeReader-X(10).

Hi ,
The plugin which i created using Acrobat SDK works fine in AdobeReader-9 but it doesnt works as expected in AdobeReader-X.
The issues with Reader-X are listed below :
1. MyPlugin doesn't get loaded at the top as the other tollbars , which i was able to load MyPlugin in Reader-9. In Reader-X , MyPlugin gets loaded at the right-side panel under 'Tools' Tab.
2. In Reader-X, there is an option which we can select for 'Enable Protected-Mode'.
a. If this is enabled i am able to see all the buttons of MyPlugin but when i clicked on each button it wont do its task instead i get error message saying unable to create HelperObject. Why MyPlugin's buttons not performing its task when the Protected-Mode is Enabled?
b.If i disable the Protected-Mode , i will see only first two buttons of MyPlugin(MyPlugin contains 4 buttons) and the when i click on those buttons it will be able to do its task as expected. Why i am not able to see all the buttons of MyPlugin during Protected-Mode disabled ?
Please let me know what i should do to make MyPlugin work in Reader-X. MyPlugin is working fine in Reader-9.

We may have to do the same way for our Reader Plugin, which i have also not implemented it till now,also did not get any sample for Reader Broker process.
I did lot of search but i also didn find any.
So what i am doing is,displaying a message box to user if the Reader Protected mode is enabled. And ask the user to Click on a button to disable Reader Protected mode. After restarting the PDF the user will be able to access MyPlugin without any error.
As of now i am doing this, but i have to make MyPlugin to work even when the Protected Mode is enabled. For this i need to create the Broker Process.
I know you have also spend lotz of your time to find a solution for this. But we are not getting the right ways to achieve a solution for this.
If i get a solution for this i will definately inform you and if you get any solution please let me know.

hey i have a problem with this code, Im trying to read a txt file, containing users and scores, and list scores separate, but I get the fist 3 scores empty(0) can any one help plz?

Why are you creating the score array inside he while loop? What's that for? It looks like it's for all the scores, but if you have 3 lines, then you're creating 3 different scores arrays--one with 1 element, 1 with 2 elements, and 1 with 3 elements.
For all but the last one, you're creating it, populating the last element, then throwing it away.
For the last one, you create it, populate the last element (leaving the first three with their default value of 0) and then that's what gets printed.
When you have this kind of problem, print out a bunch of relevant stuff (and even some stuff that you think is not relevant) at each step of the way, so ou can see what your code is doing. Yout THINK you know what it's doing, but obviously you're mistaken. If you can't figure it out from staring at it, then you'll have to let the code itself tell you what's really going on.
You'll have to create the array before you start the while loop, which means you'll have to know ahead of time how many scores you have, or know some maximum that you could possibly have and make it big enough to hold that many.
Or,instead of an array, you couse use a List, such as java.util.ArrayList.

Code to read local notepad.txt from applet

Hi.
Further to my (unanswered) queries about reading a notepad.txt file from the local directory i.e. the same directory from which the html and applet were launched, the following code is supposed to be able to read the local file. It failed to do so both in Netscape 7.1 and in IE5
I've also received conflicting advices : some says we can read local files without using a signed applet or chaning the ACL, whereas others I'll need to use signed applets and / or acl to allow the applet to read a local file.
My research has shown that java applets are supposed to be able to read local files. Has something changed:

I read your note with great interest. I am trying to solve almost exactly the same problem as you are -
Reading a .txt file in IE5 from the same directory where the html and the applet were lauched.
Your code looks fine to me.
My code is very similar, and again generates a security exception - as I am having the same problem you had getting around Java security.
If you have been able to solve the problem, can you please let me know what you did.
Any modifications to your sample code that actually made it work would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is signing the applet to read a local file under IE5 really necessary ?
Can the file be read from the local IE file system without signing the applet ?
Please let me know your thoughts.

Can you read this processes.txt

my mac pro is in near lockup with the hd churning as i run a clone and try to get some work done. i can't seem to quit out of APERTURE even after pulling down to CLOSE from the Dock icon and pulling down to QUIT from the pulldown.
ALSO, i have a terrible time reading the Activity Monitor and was wondering if someone can walk me through how to handle this issue by reading either the txt file below or in getting AM to behave (it's always so darn /jumpy/).
anyway, is there a proper way to go about solving this kind of slowdown or am i relegated to closing every software i can handle and then - i guess - i run a shut down of the computer if I can't shut down Aperture normally?

yeah, on the widgets i am in the process of putting the ones on the macbookpro on the mac pro so there are a ton open because i am half way through this process.
is there something a relatively new user can do about the two things you mention here? i mean, i feel like i am having deja vu everytime i try and address something like this because on the one hand there are obviously things that are not working but on the other hand it is like the bermuda triangle for me in terms of trying to figure it all out.
i /just/ put my external Time Capsule on the /excluded/ list of items in Spotlight in order to keep it from showing the indexing symbol. This worked (even thought it is still showing on the MacBookPro). Also, Aperture has gotten hung up and I am trying to wait it out so I don't have to crash out the database (I'm told this is a very bad idea and to be avoided if at all possible).
Is any of this related to Paralels by any chance? I had a prl_disp_vm or somesuch that was hogging 100% CPU at one piotn and it is unclear to me if they resolved this.

This is from the FileInputStream API documentation:
FileInputStream is meant for reading streams of raw bytes such as image data. For reading streams of characters, consider using FileReader.

such as C#, but not C/C++.

Based on your issue, could you please share me a screen shot about the intellisense right click menu items are grayed out?
Generally, I know that it is default that we can enable the intellisense for C/C++ by going to the TOOLS->Options -> Text Editor -> C/C++ ->Advanced-> IntelliSense like the following screen shot.
So please try to check if you set Disable Intellisense property as False in the VS IDE.

How do you make imessage work? We upgraded to verision5. The icon is there. You can type the message but the send button is not available.

There is some instability in iMessage. It is a versatile and confusing app even though there are so few options in its use.
I had issues trying to get iMessage work on both my iPads and my iPhone.
ON the iPhone, turning off WiFi service and then trying iMessage fixed the problem.
On the iPad 2, same thing. Turning off WiFi service fixed it.
On the iPad 1, I took a suggestion from zoomzoom and changed the WiFi network configuration on the iPad to use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS server and then use iMessage. That fixed it. Now I put the DNS back to default and it still works.
I suspect the iPod Touch will have the same fix as the iPad.
If you have a WiFi and 3G iPad or iPhone, try turing off WiFi and see if that fixes it.
Why? (beware, some of this is guesswork)
iMessage can talk SMS to cellphones and smartphones (that are using the cell-network). It can also talk Apple iMessage format to iPhones and iPads whether they are on cell-network or on WiFi. If you are talking to an SMS cellphone, iMessage figures that out and blindly sends your message. If you are talking to a iOS5 device, iMessage figures that out too, checks to see that they are on-line, and then does something different if they are or are not on-line. If you type in an email address, and not a phone number, I think iMessage attempts to see if the email address is registered with Apple (or iCloud or whatever) and if it is not, it does something to let you know, possibly by making the Send button not light up.
In order to register iMessage and an email, you have to let the iOS device see whatever service it is that iMessage uses. That is where the problem happenes. zoomzoom suggested manually setting the WiFi DNS to google's 8.8.8.8 IP address, then run IMessage, and that seemed to fix the problem. Setting the iOS device to use 3G-only (by turning off WiFi) also fixed the problem. I suspect going down to StarBucks or McDonalds and using their WiFi would also fix the problem. Once the problem is fixed, it doesn't seem to come back so I can't test these 'fixes'.
To change the DNS on your iPad find your WiFi networks configuration, click on the blue arrow, touch DNS, backspace over the number that is shown, type in 8.8.8.8 Then click on the WiFiNetworks button at the top of the screen. Now go run iMessage. After that, you can delete the DNS entry again and leave it blank. Your iPad will fill it in from the WiFi router when it needs it.

Richfaces fileupload with myfaces 1.1.5. Cant make it work

Yea i solved the problem. I mean at least i know what is the problem :) As you said richfaces 3.2.0 is not working with jsf 1.1. Richfaces 3.1.6 works fine with it. But the funny thing is there is no file upload component in 3.1.6 version :) So, i am using myfaces.
