Reader X, XI & Forms

I currently have the following installed:
* Adobe Reader X (10.1.3)
* Adobe Acrobat Professional 8
I was given a PDF form to update which I've done so. If I open it in Adobe Reader X, I can fill in the form and save it, as show here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2712
However, if I send it to someone else who has Adobe Reader X (same version) but not Professional, then cannot film in the form.
I'm unclear as to why they cannot fill it in and why its behaviour for them is different that for me. Will it only work in Reader X _if_ the same user also has Professional installed?
P.

Adobe Reader XI no longer requires that Extended Reader Rights for saving forms with Reader XI.
All prior versions of Adobe Reader still require Extended Reader Rights be applied to the specific PDFs.

    Hi,
    It is not possible to reader enable a form in LC Designer.
    LC Designer is part of a suite of server components (LiveCycle Enterprise Suite). Adobe have a component called LC Reader Extensions ES, which can be used to reader enable a form and maintain full functionality. But it is expensive (being intended for large organisations).
    Here is a summary of ways to deploy a form and the limits on functionality. It covers not reader enabling a form / enabling it using Acrobat / enabling it using LC Reader Extensions ES.
    Now if you reader enable a form using Acrobat, certain functions are turned off, including communications to and from databases.
    Hope that helps,

  • How to read a Oracle Forms PARAMLIST without knowing parameter names

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to read a Oracle Forms Paramlist on Oracle Forms (I mean read all parameters on it) without knowing any names of the parameters?
    I´d like to create a command line at run time and put on this command line all the parameters and its values, but I will never know the quantity of parameters and its names and values.
    Example of the command line I want to create:
    rwrun.sh batch=yes destype=file desname=/tmp/cmx_objetos.pdf desformat=pdf userid=***/***@*** module=/d01/oracle/VIS/apps/apps_st/appl/ecomex/fmx/cmx_objetos.rep parameter1=value1, parameter2=value2 ... paramaterN=valueN
    Thanks.

    As Francois said it is not clear if you are talking about Forms or Reports here. If Reports: check Get parameter name and type at runtime thread.
    But if you have no idea of the number or names of the parameters? How do you know which values to assign at all?

    Descriptive Flex Fields (DFF) and Forms Personalization are features of the Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) not a feature of Oracle Forms. Please post your question in the General EBS Discussion forum. If you have just a Forms question, by all means ask it here.

  • Can SPM 2.1 or 3.0 BI standard  data model read the data form existing BI P

    Hi,
    I am curious to find out, can SPM 2.1 or 3.0 BI standard  data model read the data form existing BI Procurement  (Cubes and DSO's) with no customization mapping?
    i know SPM 2.0 do not have that flexibility (Standard data model can read from BI), we would have to map transformation.
    I would appreciate your response..
    Rgds,
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
    What you can do in SPM30 is create an export datasource for existing BI objects and use them as direct datasource in SPM using template mapping.
    Direct transformations from BI object to SPM objects is not provided.

    Hello,
    I just solved this problem on my computer.
    Windows 7 comes with only one "Voice" installed. "Microsoft Anna - English (United States)" I'm not sure what you get if your in another country.
    You can test your "Voice/Voices" by running Microsoft Narrator. Click [Start] button and type "Narrator" in the [search programs and files] box. Press [Enter]. Your computer should begin talking. Click [Voice Settings] button to see a list of installed voices. Take note of the voices listed. "Mine has just the one."
    Adobe Reader must have a voice selected that you have installed. To verify your settings Run Adobe Reader. From the top menu click [Edit] then click [Preferences] at the bottom of the list. In the Preferences window click [Reading] from the left hand list. Find "Read Out Loud Options" Un-check [Use default voice] Choose a voice from the drop down menu that you have verified is installed on your computer. Click [OK]
    My Adobe Reader had 4 voices listed to choose from. I found this curious because I only have one voice.
    Hope that helps.

  • Making Multiple Digital Signatures Read-only in Form (Acrobat 9)

    I have created a form which includes two (2) digital signature fields.  What needs to occur with the form is Person1 fills the form and then digitally signs it thereby making the form fields read-only .  Person2 then digitally signs the form which should make Person1's digital signature read-only.
    Here's what I've done:
    1) For the Person1 digital signature field, in Digital Signature Properties, under the Signed tab, I have selected Mark as read-only <all fields except these> and selected the Person2 digital signature field.
    2) For the Person2 digital signature field, in Digital Signature Properties, under the Signed tab, I have selected Mark as read-only <all fields> since once Person2 signs the form I do not want Person1 to be able to clear the digital signature and make changes to the form.
    Here's what actually occurs:
    Step 1 above works fine.  Once the signature is applied all the form fields are read-only except for the Person2 digital signature field.
    The problem is that after Person2 digitally signs the form, even though I selected all fields as read-only, Person1 can 'clear' their signature which leaves all the form fields available for editing and leaves Person2's digital signature still on the form.
    I honestly don't care about 'validating' signatures on this form since it's going to be printed but I cannot allow Person2's signature to remain on the form and allow Person1 to edit the form.

  • Can not keep drawable signature option in reader on a form with a mailto: submit button added.

    I hope someone has run into this.  I have acrobat 11.0.10 to create fill-able forms and reader 11.0.10 to view and fill them.  Do to the nature of the forms a drawn signature is required and is available right up until I add a submit button with a mailto: action.  Then all that is available in the reader is the digital certificate.  I should add that I save the form without reader extensions.  Is there a way to add the auto-adressed mailto function for the person filling the form and still keep the drawable signature option for signing?

    - is it possible to have more than one form on the page. If so how do
    I determine which form is submitted isDefined('form1'),
    isDefined('form2') does not seem to work,
    /quote
    Yes.
    - if there are two buttons in the form how can I tell which one was
    preses as both seem to return true when tested with isDefined()
    /quote
    Give the buttons different name attributes. On your action page check
    with StructKeyExists(Form, "name_of_first_button") and
    StructKeyExists(Form, "name_of_second_button") which one was pressed.

  • Pdf reader requirements for forms designed in Livecycle

    HI guys,
    I have designed a few dynamic pdf forms that was developed using Livecycle Designer ES. These forms are online fillable forms and I will be uploading these on my site so my users can open these forms in their browsers, complete the form online and print it out for their personal use. These forms are more like online tools for the users. For this, I also have to provide a Troubleshoot guide to my users so they can refer to this if they are unable to open the forms or having trouble viewing the forms properly. So right now I am working on creating this Troubleshoot documentation and I dont want to give the wrong info to my users so I have some clarifications and some doubts and wondering if you guys can help me out..
    1) From what I understand, I think the users need to have atleast a v.8.0 of Acrobat Reader in order to fill these dynamic forms that was designed in livecycle designer ES. This is right? I think so based on my memory since I believe I read this somewhere. Would you be able to clarify this? Have I got the right version?
    2) Also, further to this I understand that the users need to have an Acrobat reader browser plug-in in order to open the pdfs in their browsers. So, I will be adding a list of various pdf plug-in download links for various browsers.
    3) I was wondering, what happens if the user doesnt have acrobat reader installed in their computer? What are the common other pdf readers that various users use? I know there are tons out there but I am trying to understand the common ones that majority of the people use other than Acrobat Reader. I mean users having mac or other OS. Will these forms also work in other pdf readers? Is there are a list of various pdf readers & the versions requirements in order for these livecycle forms to work?
    4) Other than the above points, do you think if I need to mention anything else in the troubleshoot documentation? Any points I may have missed?
    I am sorry..this is the first time I am uploading these online forms and I am trying to understand the requirements so I may be able to assist my users if they do experience any problems. So any help is very much appreciated!
    Thank you..

    Some users are having problems viewing my forms I created using livecycle:
    1) I have a created a few dynamic forms designed using livecycle designer ES..In order for my users to open these forms, they need to have atleast Adobe acrobat / reader version 8.1 or higher to view these dynamic files. However, quite a few of my users are saying that they are still unable to open these forms directly from their browser although they have downloaded the latest Acrobat X version and the browser plug-ins in their computer. It happens to both windows and mac computers. But they are able to download these files and open it directly from their adobe reader though. It happens with all browsers for them...some of them have even called up mac support as well as adobe support and they were advised that it could be a problem with my forms that I find hard to believe since it opens in my computer and opens for a lot of other users. Its only a few users still having this difficulties and I can't understand why! They have also tried enabling "Adobe Reader" as a default problem to open pdf files by opening the adobe reader. They also have tried uninstalling and re-installing the readers and still the same problem. These LC files just dont open inside their browser for them.
    2) Also, I recently uploaded a dynamic file in acrobat file sharing. I noticed that when I click on this file sharing link, it also shows the message that I dont have the latest reader installed (something similar to what my users say about my forms), Why am I getting the below message when I have the latest adobe installed? I am able to open other dynamic xml forms in my browsers..why does this happen? I wonder if other user's problem who open my forms from my site is similar to this problem I have with acrobat file sharing...not sure... (example url: https://acrobat.com/#d=fs-E6Bqml8r0FWI8aMu09g )
    To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from etc...etc...etc..
    What can be the problem when the adobe version is already updated and also the plug-ins are updated too?? I have read a lot of links in adobe site itself which suggest various methods to test out the forms, browsers, plug-ins, etc..and I also understand that it doesnt work for iOS & Android devices, but this problem still happens to some users even after trying out these troubleshoots. Can someone plz explain if there are other limitations or solution for these users?

  • Use Adobe Reader to Save Form Data

    I use Acrobat 8 Professional to create several forms and enabled usage rights in Adobe Reader so that my users can save the form data locally using Adobe Reader 7 or higher. My questions are: (1.)Is there a limit to saving the form data? For example, the form can only be save 500 times per form or is it unlimited. (2.)If there is a limit to saving the form like 500 times, can the same form be recreated and the limit of 500 starts all over again? (3.)Do I need to purchase a license to save these form data? (4.)How many forms can have enable usage rights in Adobe Reader per Adobe Acrobat professional? The reason why i'm asking these questions is because I want to be in compliance with the Adobe license. My users don't have Adobe Acrobat Professional, but would like to use Adobe Reader to save the form data.

    >(1.)Is there a limit to saving the form data?
    It is my understanding that you can harvest data from a form 500 times whether that be from one user of 500 users.
    >(2.)If there is a limit to saving the form like 500 times, can the same form be recreated and the limit of 500 starts all over again
    You'd probably be walking on thin ice by trying that. Could be a loophole but maybe not.
    >(3.)Do I need to purchase a license to save these form data?
    Not if you stay within the limit that is stated in the EULA.
    >(4.)How many forms can have enable usage rights in Adobe Reader per Adobe Acrobat professional?
    Different forms? As far as I know there is no limit to the amount of different forms you use.
    In my opinion, if you think you are going to go anywhere near the limitations of the EULA, consult with your attorney before proceeding. The form enabling function was never intended for large business use. Adobe has another, more costly, solution for that.

    For manual Proviosioning - It works fine.
    It fails when I create user in OIM using flat file GTC . I have an access policy to auto proviosion that user with ldap.
    As mentioned before, I notice none of the prepops on Ldap process form are able to read value from Xel user form.
    Steps I tried Already:
    1- Checking access policy
    2-remapping process form adapters
    Pls. let me know ur thoughts.

  • Making a field as read-only using Forms Personalization.

    Hi All,
    I have one requirement.I developed one form which is used to display Customer related Information.Some fields are created under one block and "reason-for-write off amount" field is created under another block.I have created Master-Detail relation for these 2 blocks.If there is any "reason-for-write off amount" is present for queried customers then it shows the "reason-for-write off amount" data.check boxes also created beside customer number field in Master block.If there is no "reason-for-write off amount" for any customer I need to write it and when I click on "submit" button in my form it goes to database.
    Now my requirement is :
    I need to make "reason-for-write off amount" field as read-only and I need to CHECK corresponding Customer "check_box" and make "SUBMIT" button as disable using personalization.
    I wrote code in Personalization as
    Trigger-Event:WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE
    Condition: :DUMCUST.REASON_FOR_WRITEOFF IS NOT NULL
    Processing mode:BOTH
    Actions:
    object type: ITEM
    Target Object: :DUMCUST.REASON_FOR_WRITEOFF
    Property Name: Enterable
    Value:false
    object type: ITEM
    Target Object:      :XXMCS_CUSTOMER_DETAILS.CUSTOMER_NUMBER_CBX
    Property Name: Value
    Value:1
    object type: ITEM
    Target Object:      :XXMCS_CUSTOMER_DETAILS.SUBMIT
    Property Name: Enabled
    Value:False
    But it is not working..the applied changes are not affected in my form.I tried the above actions with WHEN_NEW_BLOCK_INSTANCE trigger also.I didn't write any validation triggers for these items in my FMB also.
    Could anyone please help me..
    Thanks in Advance.

    in your iterator declare the inputfield with disabled = true .
    p_replacement_bee = cl_htmlb_inputfield=>factory(
                                id        = p_cell_id
                                disabled  = 'true'
                                value     = comments ).
    this will generate the html like below
    <input type="Text"
    class="urEdf2TxtEnbl urEdf2TxtRo urV" autocomplete="off" id="TAB1_1_4" ct="InputField" name="TAB1_1_4" st="r" tp="STRING"
    readonly value="some value" onblur="sapUrMapi_InputField_Blur('TAB1_1_4',event)"
    onkeydown="sapUrMapi_InputField_keydown('TAB1_1_4',event)"
    onkeyup="sapUrMapi_InputField_KeyUp('TAB1_1_4',event)" onfocus="sapUrMapi_InputField_focus('TAB1_1_4',event)">
    now you can use js getElementById as this now has a id attached (TAB1_1_4)

  • Cannot create a Response File in Reader X from form created in Acrobat Pro 9

    I created a form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I distributed the form using option "Manually collect responses in my email inbox" and "Save a local copy and manually send it later". When I send that form and get a response, I open it in Adobe Reader X but I do not get the pop-up option to save to a Response File. I do get that option to save to the response file if I open the file with Adobe Reader 9. Has anyone else seen this problem and is there a solution?

    I figured a way around this in case anyone has the same problem in the future. I just opened Acrobat Pro X, clicked combine files into PDF, selected the file I wanted, saved the "binder" as PDF then saved another version as Reader Extended PDF. I think this helped because it essentially creaded a whole new PDF with the old PDF in it and getting rid of whater hashes or document properties in the last one that wouldn't allow it to work in Reader. Opens perfectly on other computers.

  • Issue attaching files in Adobe Reader from a form created in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended

    Hello all,
    I am having issues- big ones- please help!
    I have created a simple form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 extended version that will be made available in a local drive for our salesmen to open not online or in html format- fill in and send back to their manager and the factory- there are 2 e-mail submit buttons on this form and the user selects which one to send to.
    This form also has a button for save and for print. Everything works great except that the attach a file button I created. It works in Adobe Acrobat, but not in Reader. When you click the button in Reader it compresses but nothing happens.
    I have tried many different things- including extending the rights to adobe reader.
    Also, this form has a password protected security and I have given permission to print, to fill in the form and sign existing signature fields. When adding the security I made sure it said compatible with Adobe 3.0 and later versions.
    I know I have to do the security before I extend the rights to reader and not the other way around.
    Don't know what else to do.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    A.

    I've attempted using Acrobat Pro to do the conversion, but it simply won't allow it.  Are there easier ways to have an online or fillable form, created in an Adobe program, such as LiveCycle or Acrobat Pro, sent or saved in a pdf format?
    For example: I make a form using an Adobe Program and put it online for people to fill out.  They fill it out and click a button to email it to me.  When I open it, is there a way to see it as a PDF document?
    Thank you for your help thus far.  It has been much  more informative than many of the forums I've attempted to decipher.

  • Calculations not working in Reader Enabled PDF Form

    I created a basic Excel spreadsheet and imported it into Acrobat 11 to make a fillable form. Acrobat inserted most of the fields but I had to add some to complete the form. I went into the properties of the fields and set up the calculations using the standard Acrobat calculations. I want the product of field1, field2. When I preview the form, the calculations work. I then close the form for editing and save as reader extended PDF with more tools. When I open the pdf in reader the calculations do not work. I then researched many possibilities on the forums and even called adobe twice with no resolution. I was able to import a blank excel spreadsheet, then created three new fields with calculations and they worked in reader when I saved the form as a reader extended pdf with more tools. So my question is where does my problem originate? Is the problem with the excel spreadsheet or excel formatting ( Excel 2013)? Is the problem with Acrobat 11? When I asked the support tech at Adobe he said that he hasn't heard of this problem before. I have spent hours and hours on this, I have created new forms from scratch and even on different versions of word and acrobat. I figured these calculations should work, am I wrong? ( I have also tried using every calculation option including JavaScript). Thanks in advance for any help.

    It's hard to say without seeing a sample. If you can post one somewhere, I'd be happy to test it out. If you can't post somewhere, you can email me at: acroscript at gmail dot com
