On windows 7 64-bit. Reader XI (11.0.09) sometimes starts the process but does not appear in the applications. This happens however the application is started i.e. start menu, double click pdf, double click AcroRd32.exe. It

11.0.09 is hanging for us - backing out to 11.0.08 fixes the issue

My G5 (non intel) starts up but does not go past the grey apple screen

My G5 (the non intel kids machine) starts up but does not go past the grey apple screen. It chimes, the grey apple screen comes up 20 seconds later with the rotating thing-ie, then the fan kicks on 1 minute 35 seconds later. It stays on that screen indefinitely.
I tried restarting without any cables connected to it with the same outcome. I tried to insert the OS X disc and pressing the "C" key and cannot get past the password page. I also tried to start it pressing the OptionCommand+PR keys with no results.

I am experiencing this problem as well. I had assumed it was a result of attempting to uninstall the Boot Camp drivers because I was getting a blue screen error every time I tried to startup with Windows. But I had also installed some updates for OS X at the same time so it could have been caused by that as well. I've erased everything now and I am trying to reinstall OS X but I'm three attempts in now because the installation has just been getting stuck in an indefinite loop at random points during the installation.

PDL - thanks for the suggestions - here are the results:
A button on the form that executes "this.print();" works fine.
Changing "this" to "event.target" results in the same error.
document.getElementById("PDFObj").Print(); works fine.
However, the reason that I'm using ".postMessage([message])" instead of ".Print()" is because I actually have a toolbar that has save, print, zoom in, zoom out, page up, page down, etc.... I simplified the switch statement in the post above to only include print, but in reality has a case for each of the functions above. The postMessage call is triggering the error, since the catch statement is printing out the error message above. Any idea why this would work with Professional but not Reader.

I have 2 Macs, connected to the same Wifi network. But sometimes, the shared computers does not appear on the left hand menu of the toolbar for me to access shared folders between the computers. Am I doing something wrong?

I recently bought a MacBook Air for work. Whilst at home, both my Macbooks are connected to the same Wifi network. Sometimes, the 2 Macbooks are connected and I can access the shared folders, which is great. However, every now and again, the connection seems to be lost. Is there something I need to set up so that every time both Macbooks are switched on and connected to my Wifi, it will automatically be linked?

I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem. The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6. (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time!

I am unable to delete any of the installed apps on my iPad2. If I press on the icon i wish to delete, it merely starts shaking but does not show me the X sign for the delete.

Check your restrictions:
Settings>General>Restrictions>Deleting Apps
The Hide features is no longer available.

Deferred Event Subscription Processed but does not execute PL/SQL Rule Func

I am creating a simple Business Event Subscription w/ a PL/SQL Rule Function in my 11.5.10.CU2/10gR2 E-Business Suite environment. My custom code simply inserts a record into a custom table. When I setup the Subscription to run synchronously (i.e. Phase < 100), the PL/SQL function executes and a record is inserted into my custom table. When I setup the Subscription to run in a deferred manner (i.e. Phase Code >= 100), no record is inserted into my custom table.
The Service Component "Workflow Deferred Agent Listener" is running. A close inspection of the WF_DEFERRED queue tables reveal that the message/entry is being processed (I can see the status change from READY to PROCESSED), but the PL/SQL function is never executed.
I would prefer to setup the Subscription to be deferred in order not to degrade performance of the user's session that triggers the business process. What am I missing?

If you are using global variables in your custom code to insert, you may want to stop and start the WF agent listener and then try firing the event.

Appraisal process roadmap does not appear

When we open an employee's appraisal document via ESS or MSS, the 'appraisal process roadmap' / 'appraisal document header' is not appearing. The area that corresponds to this header is blank. Rest all is fine. Can you guys please let me know if there is anything that needs to be done from my side. We are on EhP5.

I have configured it for a form and assigned the standard role to the user. The form is visible, but not the process roadmap.
When i assign sap_all to the user, the roadmap is displayed.

Emac-starts up but does not open desktop

trouble is with e-mac. I installed new adobe photoshop elements, had to restart and all I get is 9.2 opening screen , smiling mac and then just an apple in upper left corner --a blank stripe and nothing more across the top. tried the c key on start-up/ tried pressing option on start-up. used the diagnotic CD- all's well there. Do I have to start from scratch and loose two years of work? I feel desperate!

Getting nuts! simple onSubmit process but does not work...

once again my little problem:
on page 1 i have a report. every row has a link:

where END_ID:22 gives the id of the row to a textfield on page 21 which is launched.
on page 21 there is a small "report" of only the chosen row to give us again the details of the chosen row.
there are additionally 2 buttons, button END_ID which stores the id that we've got through the link's URL, and another textfield P21_AUFTRAGSDAUER i can enter some stuff into.
and there's a submit button that submits the page (NO redirection or something like that).
now on the same page 21 i created an onSubmit process which should update the chosen row. it's launched after all verifications and stuff, and its source is

Oracle 9.2.0 starts, mounts but does not open with the error ORA-01113

I have installed Oracle 9.2.0 database in RHEL2.1(Update6). Installation is done successfully but when I tried to start the database service the following error displays.

Hi!
It seems that something went wrong with your db (instance crash with database file corruption or corruption in the control file. If you just installed the database you could save yourself a lot of trouble by just running the dbca and create a new database.

My Firefox crashed on starting, & I sent a report. I started again, but does not recognize the password that I set for it some weeks ago. What do I do now?

I have check for a virus, via AVG; none found on a scan of the whole computer.
I have called up Firefox at least twice to reach UWO & its Convergence pgm to get my mail. Convergence asks for my security password. I have entered it very carefully several times on two separate tries of Convergence, & it is not recognized. The only thing unusual that has happened is the Firefox crash immediately before I called up Convergence. I think this password is a Firefox thing, required whenever the site wants a password.
What do I do now?

Firefox shouldn't require to enter a password to start, so if you need one then you may not have the official version from the Mozilla servers.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

5.0 update loads whether I want it to or not, and afterwards is open, but does not appear open on the screen, so I have to uninstall Firefox and reinstall 4.o, which works for a few days until the 5.0 update loads by itself, and I repeat the process.

After Firefox automatically updates to 5.0, I cannot open Firefox from the desktop icon, because it's apparently already open, yet I don't see it, and can't find it! It has effectively rendered the internet unusable for me until I uninstall Firefox, and then reinstall 4.0 without the update 5.0. This only lasts a few days before it automatically updates again.
A backup question is, in the event you have no idea what's going on, is how do I prevent 5.0 from automatically installing itself?

Moved 8.1 - Nodemanager starts but does not work... SSL problem..

We moved our weblogic 8.1 installation to a new production machine (which used to be very easy with weblogic 5.1) but of course, it didn't work because of the SSL demo certificates which were tied to the old server name. It dumped the following line on the log and refused to work:
...Certificate chain received from localhost - 127.0.0.1 failed hostname verification check
We changed our demo certificates as stated in the documentation (certgen, keytool...) and now it starts ok but does not work either. Now we are seeing the following expection on the logs:

I have seen this myself moving domains to a different server. The way I got around it was to set the Hostname Verification for the admin and managed servers to None. This is done via the admin console, SSL tab, Advanced.
