Reader XI doesn't save changes to any document !!!

I have a problem with adobe reader XI version 11.0.0.7 which started very lately in which I try changing settings at ctrl+k (Preferences) then just as I close the program and reopen it everything returns as it was and my document returns to page 1 with default zoom instead of my changes!! Although I have the save recent changes to document box checked. Also any other box that is checked or unchecked returns to what it was right after reopening the program.
My OS : win7 ultimate 64bit
P.S: I don't have Adobe Acrobat.

After 9.5.1 iphoto doesn't save changes in its library

Since I've updated iphoto to v9.5.1, iphoto doesn't save changes made to the library.
When I
- delete event
- import event from aperture
- import pictures
everything goes well until I close and reopen iphoto. Than everything is the same as when I opened iphoto before the changes.
So it doesn't save the changes in its library.
Anyone experiencing the same problem? Or anyone who has a solution?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Suddenly unable to save changes to shared document (10.6.4 server & client)

Hi,
a client of mine has a network with a 10.6.4 server and mixed clients (10.6.4 and 10.5.8). People edit documents within shared folders (mainly using Word and Pages) and all works as expected until, sometimes, some of them suddenly can't save changes to the file they were working on, so they have to save it locally (BTW, the mounted disks are still accessible)
The strange thing is that the above does usually happen around 7 PM: I've tried to find out if there are periodic maintenance tasks on the server, other than "daily" (scheduled at 3 AM), but I found none.
The server is running Time Machine, but I've disabled backup of either OpenDirectory and SharePoints data to temporarily avoid a known problem related to it (spontaneous unmount of network volumes and so on).

It sounds like a permissions error within her Home folder. Repair Permissions doesn't touch anything within the Home folder. Use this procedure for that...
1. Start up from your Install Disk.
2. Choose your language.
3. Choose "Reset Password" from the "Utilities" Menu.
(Don't worry we are not going to do that.)
4. Choose the option at the bottom to Repair Permissions and ACLs on your Home Folder.
5. When finished restart from HDD.
Terminal would be quicker,,,
sudo chown -R $USER ~press enter
You'll be prompted for your password, when you enter it, it will be invisible. Next enter this command…
chmod -R u+rwX ~press enter

ADF Faces + BC 10.1.3: prompting to save changes after any navigation

Hello all,
Working on an application that uses ADF Faces + Business Components. We're using the PanelPage component and using a menu tree model bean specified in faces-config.xml for the menu1, menu2, and menu3 facets of the PanelPage.
What we'd like to be able to do is, regardless of what page the user is on, be able to check if the user is trying to navigate via the menu without having saved changes and then prompt them "do you want to save your changes" with a Dialog.
Creating the dialog is the part I know how to do, but how could I, in a generic way:
a). Have some code execute during the navigation. I assume this is a custom ADFPhaseListener/FacesPageLifecycle class, but not sure.
b).Detect whether the model has uncommitted changes. I assume this is something on the Application Module, but could not figure this out.
Has anyone done something like this before?

OK, gang, here's an update:
I wanted to try to, in a generic way, capture changes that have happened to the data without having to go through a change listener on each field. Since my pages are all based upon BC View Objects with underlying Entity Objects, I have cobbled together some code (with lots of stuff hard-coded for now) that is able to tell me whether the data has been modified or not. The way I have the code right now, it works if the page is based upon one view object that has one underlying entity. Extending this to a view object that has multiple entities should be relatively straightforward (just loop through all of the entities and look for modifed status, instead of looking at only the first one).

Ipad app doesn't save changes in dropbox or email

I created a fillable form in Acrobat pro and saved it in dropbox for client access. I open the document on my ipad using the adobe reader app. I type in info and have the client sign it, then I re-save in dropbox and email it. When I open up the document it shows none of the saved changes.

You need to view the form in Acrobat or Reader on Macintosh or Windows to view the edited form. It can't be a third party product like Apple Preview or an iOS app.
The other possibility is that when you copied the file to Dropbox, it didn't replace an earlier version of the file that was already there. It might be a good idea to edit the name of the filled in form if you are returning the file via Dropbox.

Adobe Reader XI doesn't save my signature file.

Each time I click Place Signature I get the pop-up "How would you like to create your signature". How do I get it to remember the signature file?

I select "Use an image", I browse to find the jpg file and Accept it, and I place the signature image into the pdf document. I can then click "Place Signature" while I'm still in this document and it works fine but usually doesn’t work anymore once I exit the Reader. However, I just exited and re-launched the Reader and the signature is still there when I click Place Signature. I’m hoping it stays there. Thanks so much for the time you spent helping me. Can I contact you if it disappears on me again?

Mac Mini doesn't save changes when reboot

Right now my Mac Mini will allow me to install and change settings on the computer. Once I reboot the machine any and all changes I made are gone. How can I turn this feature off so that changes I make will still be there when I reboot?

I use to buy songs in my iPhone and then sync them via iTunes to my MacBook Air.
After sync my recent purchases to my MacBook Air, in iTunes I change the "Genre" for some songs to have a real ordered collection...
Ex: "Some song title.mp4"
original genre: Pop
new genre: Electronic
but I have found that after buying more songs and sync them with my Mac, iTunes sort of "rolls back" the change I made to Genre info. I mean, I cannot find "Some Song Title" under "Electronic" genre but on "Pop" genre. That's so annoying!!!

Reflow doesn't save changes

after saving and quiting reflow,, changes are not saved. does anyone have a solution for this problem i really need help here..

Are you using the latest version of Reflow (version 0.51) ?
This sounds like a problem some users had on an earlier version, but we believe it was fixed some time ago.

IMovie 09 doesn't save changes to iMovie 08 project - Help

After having issues with trying to export my project in iMovie 08 I have just installed iMovie 09 but when I make changes (eg, Use the map of the World to display our travel) and close iMovie 09 down, the changes aren't saved.
Also, I tried to copy and paste the project into a new one and it selects the movies, pictures & transitions but not the audio files. Can this be done? When I try to duplicate the project I get an error saying that I don't have the permissions to do it although I am the author and administrator.
Pls Help.

Your camera definitely should work with iMovie. I viewed a YouTube video earlier today that was shot with the Nikon Coolpix L110 and (clearly) edited in iMovie (not sure if it was '09 or '11). It was this one:

Possibly there is a glitch with iMovie. Try deleting the preference file. Close iMovie, then in Finder locate the file named "com.apple.iMovie8.plist" in your User (Home) folder Library/Preferences. Drag the file to the Desktop. When opened, iMovie will rebuild the .plist file with the default settings which can be changed if desired in iMovie's menu item iMovie>Preferences.
If all works OK, drag the original .plist file to the Trash. The file can become corrupted in some circumstances, such as when iMovie quits unexpectedly or is Force Quit. Deleting the file will not harm existing Events or Projects but may fix iMovie's odd behaviour.
It will be well worth upgrading to iMovie '11 - it has many new and enhanced features and can be purchased from the Mac App Store at a very reasonable price ($AUD17.99)

PS If possible, try your camera with iMovie at an Apple retail outlet. If it works there, then there is something amiss on your Mac. Perhaps try a different User Account on your Mac.

Pages 09 is installed. But on the received e-mail was not a serielnr for activating pages so i cannot save or print any document.

I have downloaded Pages 09 on the i-Mac with the Lion version.
In the e-mail for confirming was mentioned an Ordenr....... and a long nr of 12 figures......
After making a document,it was not possible to save or print out.
I get a sjabloon with the text that I have to activate iWork first.
Next click gives me the sjabloon that i have to buy the complete version iWork!!!!!
or to fill in the serialnr of Pages mentioned in the sended e-mail from apple store.
I have tried that long nr (in case that this is the productserialnr....) but no any result.
Apple-store employees were not able to help me.
Where can I find the serialnr...as nr in the email was not working.
We have also tried with apple employee to remove Pages of the computer and empty the trash
for complety removig,but....... we still keep the message that Pages is INSTALLED.
So long we have this message we cannot re-downloadin program Pages according the apple employee!!!!
Apple is not able to solve this problem.
In mean time I have used my back up and also controlled the e-mail.

This might be simple but it works well for me.
1.
Right click on the tool bar in IE8 and uncheck adobe PDF to disable. Click yes when it ask if you are sure.
2.
Open Adobe
READER located in the start menu.
3.
Click on Edit and then on Preferences.
4.
Select the "General" category.
5.
Click on "Select default PDF handler"
6.
Adobe Reader should be already selected. Change it to reader if it is not.
7.
Click on "Apply" and except changes.
8.
Restart the computer and you are done.
Now you can open and save PDF's from IE8. Once you save it, you can right click and "open with" Acrobat if you choose.
Be careful to not make Acrobat the default or you have to start over.
You can still create PDF's from docs, scans, and picture like before. You might think this is a work around but it really isn't.
Some forms that are available on the internet can't be opened by Acrobat for security reasons.

How do I save changes to a document using VPN, Safari and Excel Mac?

Hi. I'm using VPN to reach documents on a server. I want to make changes to an excel document and save the changes back to the server. I'm using Safari and Excel Mac. When I'm finish making changes I tried to save the document back to the server. The changes was not saved? When I tried it on a PC it works well. Why can't I save the changes? I did this after I wrote this. I have looked at the documentation but I can't find what I am looking for. Is there another way to open a file for viewing that has the full capabilities or using the normal program...one that uses something besides AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF. The sample that did have a view used AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF so it wasn't helpful. All I need is normal program functionality of adobe standard or profession within the application. The users have a full version installed on their PC.

How to SAve changes with theGET_PREVIOUS & GET_NEXT

I have a form that I like to make changes and go to the next record, I've used the built in Next & Previous Button, but those doesn't save, I get the Warning (Are you sure you want to leave this page without saving?) so I need to click on Apply Changes and that send me back to the previous page or (if I change the navigation) back to the same page and then I click Next.
My question: Is there a way to do both at the same time, Commit the changes and GO to NEXT or PREVIOUS Page, with a single button?

Yes, go to the Next (or Previous) button properties page and go to the URL Redirect section. Change it to "No Target", this will make it submit the page as usual instead of the warning popup.
Open up the On Submit Before Computation Branch that is attached to the Next (and Previous) button and change its firing point to OnSubmit After Processing. Make sure that any unconditional branch on the page has the highest branch sequence (999) so it is evaluated last.
Assuming you have a Automatic DML process (Process Row of ...) process on the page to save changes, remove any When Button Pressed condition from it and make it conditional upon the following PL/SQL expression

Scripting error when I save an Office 2003 document on a sharepoint 2007 infrastructure

We need to click several times on Yes button to be able to save the document.
We have been able to fix this problem by repairing Office 2003 client, but when a new user logs on the computer, the problem gets back on his profile (then a new repair from this profile fixes the issue).
We want to know if there is another solution, because we have 600+ clients which will encounter this issue and it will bother us to repair each Office 2003 client on each computer, specially during a Windows 7 migration process.

I figured out a method to finally install Office 2010 bypassing the error stated in the title, by manually removing all the keys that included the term "Office 2003" from the Windows registry.

Please note that you need to be very careful when manually editing the Windows registry as it may cause problems to your operating system and even cause a massive failure requiring you to re-format your disk.
