ReaderX+Acrobat 8 remoteapp=ReaderX not working

Hi guys
ReaderX works, until and acrobat.rdp (remote.app Serv2008) is being used.
Cannot find any registry entry on this yet being changed and will have to monitor this, but as result readerX starts 3-4 processes, all but one can be killed.
The last one seems to allocate a chunk of memory and stays happily running.
So far only workaround=uninstall, reboot, reinstall of reader, until the next time the remote.app is being used.
I have seen post-install changes regarding various Adobe products, but they are usually easy to ID and to remedy. this doesn't leave a trace.
Anyone has a good idea where to look or what might have been changed?
Thanks
Adam

  • Plugin created using C++ 6 and Acrobat 6 SDK Not Working in Windows

I have an Acrobat plugin compiled in Visual C++ 6 using Acrobat 6 SDK. The plugin works flawlessly in Acrobat versions 6 to 9 in Windows XP. While the plugin is able to add a menu iterm and tool bar icon in Windows 7, it causes Acrobat to hang everytime when activated in which event I have to close Acrobat. Since Visual C++ 6 is a 32 bit app, I have to believe that Acrobat 6 SDK is responsible for the behavior described herein in attempting to get the plugin to work in Windows 7. Any comments or suggestions regarding what Visual C++ version to use along with the appropriate Acrobat SDK to get the plugin to work in Windows 7 are appreciated. In doing so, I would also be interested in knowing what backward compatibility one may expect w/regard to previous versions of Acrobat in updating the plugin to work in Windows 7. As for the answer, correct me if I am wrong but I'm thinking Acrobat 9.

Adobe hasn't supported Acrobat 6, VC6 or the Acrobat 6 SDK for at least 5 years.  You will need to move to the Acrobat 9 SDK if you wish support.
And Acrobat 9 and its SDK are fine with Windows 7.

I am using Acrobat Pro XI not working at all in Windows7 64bit - tried everything. About a month ago I built new computer. Acrobat worked fine. In last week it started not producing PDFs using Save As and would crash when processing scanned document. So I redownloaded exe file, used the acrocleaner to erase existing program, and reloaded Acrobat Pro XI.
No the program will not start at all. Freezes when opening by clicking PDF file or by opening program icon.
    plz help

    Hi dufflebag123,
Please try the following basic troubleshooting steps:
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

Acrobat X Pro not working, Serial Number not recognized?

    Hi lv123321,
Do you have Acrobat only License no or is it a part of suite. If Acrobat X pro is a part of suite then you need to use the suite setup to install Acrobat.
Also if possible could you please private message me the serial no so I can try decoding it.
    Regards,
    Abhijit

  • Acrobat Reaader will not work before I accept End User License Agreement. But where and how?

Acrobat Reaader will not work before I accept End User License Agreement. But where and how?
Have installed version 9.5 on my Windows 7 desk-top computer.

I don't know what you mean by "where and how"; Adobe Reader will automatically present the license agreement to accept the first time you use it.

  • When I click PDF file, the file does not open and  installation software for creative suite automatically begin to start. Even after re-installation of creative suite 5.5, only acrobat reader dose not work and the same phenomena occurs.

Did you ever install Acrobat? It is not installed automatically with CS, but requires an extra installation step.

WHY DOESN'T THE COMPANY STATE ACROBAT XI PRO DOES NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS VISTA.
THE COMPANY NEEDS TO WARN PEOPLE.  THE ACROBAT TECH SUPPORT FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT IT'S NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS VISTA.

The Acrobat website and the box lists the compatible OSs. You want Adobe to list all of the incompatible OSs---going back how far.

  • PDFMaker in Acrobat 9 Standard not working

I'm running Windows 7 x64 and have Acrobat 9 (updated through 9.4).  In January, I downloaded a trial of Acrobat X, decided I didn't want it.  I uninstalled it and still have 9.  However (and I think this is when it began), the Create Adobe PDF function is not working - neither from Word and Excel nor from within Acrobat ("Convert from file").  In "About Adobe Plug-Ins", some are "Loaded", some are not and Convert2AdobePDF is not.  When I try to run "Convert to PDF" from Outlook, Ouloook crashes.
I have been going 'round and 'round, repairing and installing, trying everything I can find via Google and have broken down in despair (unfortunately, I am not exaggerating).  My Print to PDF is working but the resulting fonts are thin and anaemic.

Thank you, Bill, but I did try that (see above "I have been going 'round and 'round, repairing and installing...").  I run
repair, re-start and it still won't work and doesn't show as a loaded Plug-In.

  • CS4 - Acrobat 9 Pro not working on Win 8.1

    Hello
We have severe problems installing Acrobat 9 Pro from the CS4 Suite. Setup always cancels the installation (see Re: Error 1603 when installing CS4 on Windows 8.1).
However, we downloaded and successfully installed a standalone version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. But the CS4 serial does not work on the standalone version.
Can you send us a serial number that works? We can provide you with the CS4 serial for verification. Please send us an address to send it to you privately.
    Thanks a lot!
    Simon Sunke

Go to your Control Panel, find the Windows Firewall, after you open that, you need to click on Advanced settings. Click on Inbound Rules, scroll down until you see Java, it maybe listed several times. Right click on the ones that are blocked and select Properties.
On the General tab, you will see a section called Action, you will need to tick the Allow the connection. Apply and then OK, do that for all blocked Java entries.
EDIT: Sorry I missed where you said that it wasn't showing up. Are you looking in the "Inbound Rules"? If so, did you install the 32bit version? Even on a 64bit OS, you should have the 32bit installed. You can also always add the Java entry into
the firewall setting. I will type out how to do that if you need.
I tried to upload an image for you, but the site won't let me.
Now if Java was the only thing not connecting, then you should be good to go, if you still have an issue with Java, then follow the steps again, but this time, you will need to open the Advanced tab and under the Profiles section, check the private box,
    apply and OK.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro Not Working, InDesign is Finicky

I purchased CS6 a little while ago and now Adobe Acrobat X Pro is not working at all.  This is a major problem because I cannot access PDF files, which is the file type I use most.  Also, InDesign doesn't save my files correctly and sometimes just shuts down without notice.  I use those two programs the most so I'm not too sure what problems the other programs potentially have.  This same problem happened to my co-worker and she was emailed new download codes and now CS6 works perfectly for her.

    Hello emthree
You will have to contact Adobe Support regarding this - http://helpx.adobe.com/in/contact.html

  • OCR on Acrobat 9 Pro not working - will not explain why.

I ran the OCR function on multiple 500-page PDF documents for an upcoming project. For the most part, the OCR worked. However, OCR DID NOT work on specific pages within the documents (would usually happen once or twice every few thousand pages). I went back through the PDF documents to try and run the OCR on the individual pages that did not work the first time, and the screen showed the following error: "Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because:". There was nothing else in the error box - no explanation as to why OCR would not work on those individual pages.
Has anyone else had luck with this problem? I would really appreciate any help I can get.

Very likely the pages of interest have a least one character of renderable text. This might not be readily seen by you or me but it'd be there.
Acrobat's OCR will not process a page that has any renderable text.
    Be well...

  • Acrobat XI droplets not working in Acrobat DC and Preflight profiles gone

I can't find any of the custom preflight profiles from Acrobat XI in the newly installed Acrobat DC. Are they gone (deleted)?
I expected them to be upgraded... not to be removed without any notice.
Also preflight droplets no longer work. Dragging and dropping a file on a droplet made in Acrobat XI: it seems to load for 5 seconds, but nothing happens.
Should I tell our customers to keep Acrobat XI, and not upgrade to DC, or is there an easy way to upgrade Acrobat IX droplets (and preferably also keep any profiles)?
This is on Windows, I've not tested on mac.
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
As co-existence of A11 and ADC on the same system is not supported so its not expected for the older droplets to work with the newer version.
I checked with Acrobat 10 created droplets with Acrobat 11 and wasn't able to make it work either.
