How do I read html attachments? When I open them, they appear encrypted. I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat version 8 - however, I still cannot open the attachments.
HTML attachments?
These attachments include which file extension?

How to read HTML files using UTL_FILE
Hello Friends,
How to read HTML files using UTL_FILE package ? According
to Oracle documentation UTL_FILE can read or write OS Text Files.
Thanx in advance..
AdiHI Hareesh,
i have gone through that blog.
i tried it...but i am getting mapping error no receiver determination fond because there are so many excel files.
my data is available on sharedString.xml but also it is in not same order.
i have no clue how to handle this part form the blog.
"This way our mapping will receive all data from the sheet in an XML format. The only thing that's left is to create an XSD file from the XML file we received in order to be able to use it in the mapping and as our Service Interface and we can proceed with mapping. As you can see from the sheet.xml files all the data is placed with column name and row number so it's not that difficult to map it to an table type format using the Message Mapping only (no java, abap mapping required)." -

Is profimail the only program to read HTML emails?
Hi all,
Is profimail (www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=profimail) the only program to read HTML emails?
Overall I think it’s a good program and I wouldn’t mind paying to buy it. However, it feels very weird that not even top-notch and expensive mobiles like the E71 can read HTML emails without additional software! Plus, I’d like to consider alternatives before making up my mind and buying profimail. As much as I don’t like HTML emails, I receive plenty, which are almost unreadable and impossible to decipher if opened as text emails.
I think the main disadvantages of profimail vs the integrated email client, Nokia email (email.nokia.com) or whatever your operator provided (e.g. ‘email on 3’ provided by www.seven.com)are:
- Price (profimail is not hugely expensive but not free)
- Battery life: if used in imap idle mode, it drains the battery more than the alternatives outlined above
- Not perfect integration with Symbian: you’ll see a small box on the homescreen with the number of unread messages, but you won’t be able to show the headers in the home screen. Not ideal but bearable; after all, it’s exactly what happens with sms messages
And the advantages are:
- Ability to read HTML email
- True, instant delivery of emails if used in imap idle mode (it reconnects automatically if it loses the connection).
My experience with Nokia email and email on 3 used on the 3 UK network is that emails are delivered with delays, sometimes very considerable ones. My understanding is that these systems work by sending some sort of ‘silent sms’ which prompts the mobile to connect to the server and retrieve new mail only when needed. The bottleneck is that the silent sms doesn’t always arrive instantly, for reasons I fail to understand (network congestion maybe?). This was a great disappointment because I previously had a E61 with Blackberry connect which was great: emails did arrive instantly
Let me know your thoughts! Bye!have you tried emoze ? and yes you might be right that it is a network issue rather than the program
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery.... -

You can't. If you could it would be a HUGE security bug, and would be quickly fixed.

Reading 'pdf' attachments to Outlook Express Email
I can't read 'pdf' attachments to my Outlook Express mail. I get an Error Message "This message does not have a program associated with it"
However, I can save the message to my computer 'My Documents' and it then opens fine with Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is associated with 'pdf' files in Control Panel - Folder Options.
Computer: Compact Presario
System: Windows XP
Outlook Espress 6
Adobe Reader 8
Thanks,
Darleenall versions of MS operating system handle this sort of differently but here is the general approach
(windows 7):
control panel -> associate file type or protocol with a specific program -> scroll down to PDF
if you have successfully installed ADOBE, you should see that as a choice, click on it and your system will update so now in OUTLOOK all PDF files will be opened by ADOBE, simple but not very straight forward. -
Recipients can't read email attachments
Scenario: Office full of Macs. All supposedly configured exactly the same (same OS, same version of Word, etc.) When one staff member creates then sends documents (so far Word and pdf docs), others can't read the attachments. The attachments, when opened in Word, look like gibberish.
The employee in question is using Mac Mail as the mail client. The others are using Thunderbird.
But here's the thing. When we take a file from the affected computer, put it on someone else's computer, then email it, the file comes over ok.
Also, we were able to test sending the same file from another Mac using Mac Mail and the file was okay.
I checked the mail preferences to see if he had the "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" option clicked. He did not.
Any ideas on where I should look to fix this problem?

So, the problem is in the Mac Mail set-up.
Have the user try changing some of the parameters.
Though Ernie has show himself to be smarter than I, I think that it has nothing to do with Exchange or anything besides how the Mac user using Mail.app has it configured, and -- so -- how the email is constructed and sent from that machine.
You said, "I checked the mail preferences to see if he had the "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" option clicked. He did not."
Okay. So set the option, restart Mail, and try it.
I have it set. I send Office docs, PDFs, everything, to people using every email client you can think of. I cannot think of one time I had a problem like this.

How to read html to a NSString from the Internet
Please help the rookie:
What is the recommended way to read html-content into NSString variable when writing an application for iPhone?
Thank you.
Message was edited by: .Net and Obj-C developerYou don't have to remove Homepage Sites just to host
iWeb Sites.
They can even work together (from your iDisk) to
share pages or files.
The easiest method would be to remove the Homepage
files (Sites, Movies and Picture folder files) that
are used by Homepage from your iDisk.
Once deleted your pages are gone from the Web.
Dear Quicktime Kirk, I want all my files and bundles to be in the same place, and with iWeb, that means on my Desktop (although I could put backups on my iDisk, I know.) So, if I understand you correctly, then if I delete the Sites, Movies, and Picture folder files that are u sed by Homepage from my iDisk, then my old .Mac Homepage website will GONE, right?
Well, actually, wouldn't it be a good idea to just delete the whole shebang? Because everything (or almost everything) has been copied already.

Can somebody let me know how would I go about reading html with empty spaces into a JTextPane ? Supposing I have text like
<html><body> ABCD EFGH</body></html>When I read the above HTML into the JTextPane(with HTMLEditorKit), it gets rid of all the spaces I put in and considers only one space. Add to that the text is trimmed both ways, so all the spaces I put in at the start of the Document are trimmed.
Somebody Please ?Camickr:
The pre tag makes a mess of the formatting. Alternatively If I consume the Space Bar and insert '\ 240', I would lose my line wrapping. The line would break in between a word which is scary. The only reason for that is probably the LineBreakMeasurer used by the Editor considers a space and since that space is overwritten by '\ 240' or '& # 160;' , its messed up.
BBritta:
Your solution would never work for a JTextPane since the only way I know to put in a space is '\ 240' and not ' ' .
Thanks Camickr and BBritta. Any other thoughts on this appreciated. I can post in a sample code if required. -
Unable to read PDF attachments past 1st page in iOS4
I have upgraded to iOS4
Now I am unable to read PDF attachments past the 1st page.
I have received a number of suggestions (like resetting the phone) but to no avail.
Anybody else with the same problem? Thanks for the valiant attempt!
I uninstalled Stanza and hard reset the iPhone (Home+Sleep until the Apple appears)
I tested a couple of new messages with fresh PDF attachments, and the problem
did not go away.
At this point I may have to consider some sort of software corruption with my iOS4

How do I set BI Publisher to read html tags from the database?
How do I set BI Publisher (Release 10.1.3.4) to read html tags from the database? For example if the text is quoted with a bold tag I want my output to display the text in bold. Is there a setting or something I can set?
I took a look at Tim Dexter's blog as suggested and the sample worked, but for the elements in the xml file not for the value coming from the database, however this is good to know as well!
I have data in the data base column which looks like this:
'MS Applied <B(bold tag)> Mathematics</B(bold tag)>University of Southern California'
I want the data to be rendered like this:

Reading html data & uploading a file in single html form using htp package
Hi
I have designed a html screen using htp package in which i have few text items and file upload button. I have to validate all forms data like text items and check box elements and upload file to unix. I am using java script for file validations and cgi script to upload file. With this I am able to either read form data or upload file but not both.
At a time I want to insert a record to database with html form values and upload file to unix with htp package. Please suggest how can I read html form data + uploading a file to unix simultaneously in a single htp procedure.
Thanks,
