Reading XML object from Request object

Hi,
We are using Flash in our web application in which we are sending an XML object using HTTP post method to a JSP where we need to parse the XML object and get the values. Can anyone tell how we can do it?

In fact we are not getting error in our page. following is the error

Reading Null Values From Request Object

For a proof-of-concept, I wrote a mini program that has 2 files. File #1 is main.html. There's a javascript function called addNewRowToThisTable that isn't displayed but it basically allows the user to create as many rows in the table as user desires. When the "Submit" button is clicked the file ReadIt.jsp is called and it's supposed to display on the first and last names of the people who had the checkbox for that row checked. The best way to illustrate the problem I'm having is through an example. Let's say there are 3 rows:
[x] Alan Anderson [Add New Row]
[ ] Bob Brady [Add New Row]
[x] Carl Chadwick [Add New Row]
[Submit]
Let's assume that only rows 1 and 3 are clicked. After the form is submitted the JSP will print...
firstNameArr .length = 3
lastNameArr .length = 3
isSelectedArr.length = 2
firstNameArr[0] = Alan
lastNameArr[0] = Anderson
firstNameArr[1] = Bob
lastNameArr[1] = Brady
Unfortunately firstNameArr[1] and lastNameArr[1] should be "Carl", and "Chadwick" respectively. I know the reason why it's failing is because my program relies on the array index of the "isSelected" field to perfectly match up with the "firstName" and "lastName" fields. It's unreliable because if the checkbox for a row is not checked then it won't show up in the JSP String array isSelectedArr. I'm not really sure how to get around this problem. I have 2 ideas at the beginning of solutions but I'm not sure how to follow through on either and I'm also not sure if either is the proper approach to take. My guesses are...
1) There's some way in JSP to use "getParameterValues('isSelected')" to retrieve the full array of "isSelected" items regardless of whether or not they're checked. That would guarantee that my arrays would match up correctly. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find this.
2) Maybe I can put in some sort of ID in the "isSelected" field that would relate the checkbox to the rest of the data in the row. The problem with this is that I've got a dynamic # of rows due to my addNewRowToThisTable method.
So the bottom line is that I'm thoroughly stumped. If anyone can offer advice I'd be very grateful.

it's sort of a kludge, but try this:
your javascript function adds new for fields that get submitted to the servlet. name the checkboxes uniquely with a patterm with said function, say isSelected-1, isSelected-2, isSelected-3... now also name the first and last name fields the same way. fname-1, fname-2, fname-3... lname-1,lname-2,lname-3.
when you get to the page that is supposed to match them up, go through all the request parameters looking for those that start with "isSelected-" take the last char (the index), convert it to an int, and then from your request do:
String first = request.getParameter("fname-" + indexThatWasFound);
          String last = request.getParameter("lname-" + indexThatWasFound);in looping over the request for each index recovered from the searching of the request for the isSelected-n values, you will get the matching first and last name.

By using a signed applet i am lunching a small application that returns an image object, how to read that without storing it in the hard disk.
Which means i need to read the image object return by the local application using applet or jsp .
i am using tomacat and an html page with an applet with it to lunch the application.

You can write that image in a binary format using OutputStream for System.out and then read it in your applet.

Is there any way to read XML directly from a Web Page ??

i have a url, which on sending request, shows XML in browser.
Now i need to read this XML in browser and then manipulate it according to my need and display it on another page.
actually the process is. :
1) i have to first retrieve an xml from other site. (XML will only be shown in browser)
2.)then i have to read the Xml and show it in according to my requirements.
Is there any way to read XML directly from a Web Page ??
is their logic to accomplish this.
e.g in Servlet i can do somewhat like this :

the average Java XML parser will accept an InputStream, so just open an URLConnection to the webpage, get the inputstream from it and feed that inputstream to the XML parser. If the URL has valid XML data, it will get parsed without problems.

FM to read XML files from Application server in ECC5.0

We need to pick up an XML file from Application server/FTP server. The requirement is to parse the XML file and process it to create material master. SAP provides standard function modules to read XML files.
Now we need to read the XML file contents of MM01 and upload into SAP Data Base through BAPI
I need to know about the Function modules to read XML files from Application Server and also about the FM's that will update the Date base tables with the data obtained form XML files.

Simply use the XSLT transformation 'ID'.
FIELD-SYMBOLS <ls_result> TYPE ANY.
CREATE DATA lref_data TYPE (your_structure).
ASSIGN lref_data->* TO <ls_result>.
CALL TRANSFORMATION id
SOURCE XML xmlstr
RESULT result = <ls_result>.
"xmlstr" contains your XML file. Just read it into it via standard I/O operations. "<ls_result>" will contain your DDIC formatted content.

Problem while reading XML file from Aplication server(Al11)

I am facing a problem while reading XML file from Aplication server using open data set.
OPEN DATASET v_dsn IN BINARY MODE FOR INPUT.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.

The XML file contains the details from an IDOC number , the expected output is XML file giving all the segments details in a single page and send the user in lotus note as an attachment, But in the present output after opening the attachment i am getting a single XML file which contains most of the segments ,but in the bottom part it is giving the below error .

How to read .xml file from embedded .swf(flash output) in captivate

I have been trying to read .xml file from the .swf (Flash output) that is embedded within the captivate file but no luck yet . Please if anyone got any clue on how get this thing done using Action script 3.0 then let me know. I am using Adobe Captivate 5.5 at present and Flash CS 5.5.
I am well aware about how to read .xml file through action script 3.0 in flash but when insert the same flash in captivate and publish nothing comes in captivate output. I would higly appreciate if anyone could help me out with that.

I don't think you understand: I want to open Dreamweaver and build a brand new site, then when I am done I want to host the dreamweaver site on the Business Catalyst platform. I dont want to use anything in BC to build the site, I just want to use the hosting platform. I do not want to import a BC site into dreamweaver or anything like that. I just want to use BC the same way I would use godaddy, or uhost or any other hosting provider. Based on your response you said that "of course its possible to build a BC site in Dreamweaver" I dont want to build a BC site, I want to build a Dreamweaver site and host it on the BC platform. Like I said before it doesnt seem like this is possible. As of now we can only build a new site in MUSE and integrate it into BC without using a BC template. Can you understand what I am saying. Donno about FM which will upload data directly to SAP, I think you have to do some mapping for it so that it will suit the SAP format. Again it depends on your requirement..

Getting value of parameter from request object

If i submit a form using button element of html form then i dont get name of the button element as Parameter of request object and hence its value.
why and how?

what do you mean submit a form with a button? You don't submit a form with a button, you submit it with a submit element. Unless you use Javascript to submit from an onclick handler in the button. In which case, you aren't submitting from the button, but from the script. I'm not sure that buttons are sent in forms. Why would they? If you are using buttons and Javascript, then you could use a hidden field and set it's value to the button's value when it's clicked before submitting the form.
