Readme file on download page says it is damaged or corrupt.

I think this has do with the digital booklet having a media type of "Music" instead of "Books". If you do a Get Info on the document you will see this under the Options tab. Unfortunately, this is greyed out for me and I cannot change it. Could it be that because of the Media Type for this file being Music instead of Books, iBooks is causing the download to fail?

Yes, unfortunately Firefox 4 and later require the Intel processor architecture. The error message apparently doesn't distinguish between OS version and processor.

You may have an email file that cannot be played by QT. But then you did not provide the exact wording of the error message.
QT cannot open all types of files. You might try installing the QT plug-in Perian 1.2.3 that will enable QT to play many more types of files.
What exactly is the type of file you have that you cannot open with QT? You can try using a third-party player such as VLC Media Player 2.0.1 or MPlayerX 1.0.14.

Sounds like your pc has lost track of one of the drivers that the pc needs to talk to the pad.
Goto Apple.com on your pc, and download and reinstall the most current version of I tunes. When it installs, all the drivers should be there.

I have FireFox 6.0 on Max (OS: Lion). Before this upgrade, when I downloaded a file, the "Download" page would pop up showing the current downloading process as well as all my previous downloads. Now all I see is a blank page when I click on "Downloads".

My current version of Chrome is having problems, too! It's so annoying. Anyone have any suggestions now? I basically can't view or download any PDFs because of this.
Does anyone else think this is a problem not only with Adobe? I would think Apple would have something to do with this? I assume you went to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Macintosh. Each update has 2 steps to download and the download should then be automatic. Generally, the updates must be installed in order unless indicated otherwise. However, the downloads should be installation files (not sure about the extension or type for a MAC) and not a text or readme file. I found 2 pages, each with a download button for the downloads. The last one should start the download as I mentioned. If the MAC version of Acrobat is similar to Windows in the update sense, you may be able to do updates from the Help menu within Acrobat.

JDK/JRE Download Page has Wrong File

On the JDK and JRE download pages, the download for Windows Itanium (IA64) actually contains the AMD64 (x64, x86_64) download, even though the file itself is labeled as IA64. Where can I download the Windows Itanium JDK (or even JRE at this point--I just need Java)? And who can I get in touch with to have this issue rectified?

Intel and Amd's implementations of x64 are basically the same. It's just Intel's Itanium architecture that's radically different. Originally it was supposed to be the replacement for x86, but it ended up in a niche server market. My point is is that the two architectures require differently compiled binaries. Java.com doesn't even list the IA64 binaries as most home users wouldn't have their own Itanium server. That's why you have to come to the Oracle page to get it. The IA64 download says it is meant for the Itanium processor so that only those with Itanium machines will download it. My issue is that the person at Oracle who posted the download doesn't know the difference and is posting the two as if they're interchangeable. While most users won't notice the difference, the few who actually need the Itanium binaries will.
