Ready 2 download error on Laserjet pro 200 color m251n printer

I have a laserjet pro 200 color m251n printer that suddenly gives "error 2 download" can anyone profer solution on how to clear this error.
 I tried using the firmware downloaded from hp site  but gives "Fatal erro 7 while erasing.
Please somebody help me. It's very urgent.

I see you are getting an "error 2 download" message and can not complete the firmware update. Please complete the steps in the following document; A 'Firmware Corrupt Ready 2 Download' Error Message Displays on the Control Panel.
If the issue persists, I recommend calling HP and letting the know the issue as well as the steps you have already completed. It may be helpful to even let them know you completed all of the steps in HP document #c03109721.
If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
HP printers generally have a 1 year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link if you would like; warranty check. Even if the printer is out of warranty I suggest still calling HP to see if there is something they can do to help.

    Printer: HP Laserjet Pro 200 color M251n
    Firmware: 2014-06-04 , Version 20140521
    Problem:
    Since the latest Firmware update the printer is unresponsive in Sleep/Standby Mode no Events (all configured to wake up the printer) will wake the printer up. Even to connect via Webinterfac the printer is not responding. Ping also Fails.
    Tried to connect the printer to another Printer Switch Port/ wall plug changed network cables nothing worked.
    The only solution is to hard reset the printer (power off/on) to get the printer working again.
    Played around with the EcoSmart configuration but doesn't matter what is selected there its always the same that the printer stuck in Sleep/standby mode and won't responde.
    Is there somewhere the old FIrmware to be downloaded to try a downgrade if this would help?
    I really don't think there is anythink else I could try.

    we are on a comany network and I guess our network won't be the problem (cisco switches for our printer lan)
    in the meantime we replaced the HP Printer with a small xerox printer as we still have warranty we might give it back to vendor.
    I don't think there is any issue related with network settings if none of the wake up events are working.
    Bad Firmware I would call it.

    Hello, I receved my HP Lasejet Pro 200 m251n yesterday and unfortunately we did not get a good start together. When printing colors, the colors are not aligned. I have printed a few diagnostic pages that just confirm the issue. Reading the forums I found that recalibrating could be helpful. Unfortuately after ~15 recalibrations nothing changed. Some users on other model are reporting that a NVRAM reset could be a solution. Unfortunately I did not find a way to do this on my M251n. Can it be done ? Should I try it ? Or should I send the printer back ?

    I see that you are experiencing alignment issues with this printer you just received yesterday. You ran multiple calibrations with the same issue.  I can help you out.
    Print a Diagnostics Page to see if you have the same results. Trying to determine if it is a hardware or software issue.
    Go to Setup, Reports, arrow down and select Diagnostics Report.
    Here is a screen shot.
    I have provided a document with more steps for running a cleaning and checking print driver settings.
    Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
    Make sure the paper type is selected to the media that you are using, not the default setting unspecified.
    Please provide the following information so I can assist you better.
    What were the results of Print Quality Page?
    What are the Ink levels?
    What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
    How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
    What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
    I can send you that reset information in a private message.
    In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
    Update the printer's firmware. Just to rule that out. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251nw Drivers.
    Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.

    With the notes you have posted i see that you are unable to get on to printer apps, web services and eprint, please follow the steps given in the link given below and check the wireless connection and it should resolve the issue.

    In past days I changed ip range in my net and when I needed to set the new ip in my printer I discovered I forgot the web interface password.
    My printer have not touch display and for security reason I disable uso of menù from display. now I need to reset it. For my is good reset the printer as factory config. could you help me?best regards

    Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I see that you're locked out of your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251n's Embedded Web Server (EWS).  I would like to help. There is only one way to remedy this issue.  I will private message you the steps to complete a reset that will ideally clear out the password.  Note that completing this step will reset your printer's wireless configuration, ePrint address, and other customized printer settings. If you have created a custom @hpeprint.com address it will be permanently erased. For more information on custom ePrint addresses, click here.   Let me know if this works out for you.     Hi , Thanks for getting back to me! It's not abnormal to see some print quality issues once your toner is lower that 20%. Were you able to complete the steps in the document that I sent? Is there any cyan on the print quality printout at all? If not, it could be a defective toner cartridge. I would suggest contacting HP Support to inquire about a replacement if it is a Genuine HP toner cartridge.**Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance. If a replacement toner cartridge does not resolve the issue, then it's possible that the printer may need to be serviced. Hope this helps!Thanks again for posting, and have a great day.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw Printing Out of Alignment

    Images and color text print out of alignment.
    The issue started the first day we had the print.  It has taken me a while to get into diagnosing it but I have tried the following:
    I have tried replacing the toner cartridges with new ones (expensive).  The problem occured even with the original starter cartridges.
    I have tried a full printer reset.
    I have tried leaving the printer unplugged from power for 24 hours.
    I have tried several alignment features within the printer menu.
    Printing black alone is fine.  All other colors do not line up with each other or with the black.  Creates a 3D-ish kind of effect.
    The printers quality report shows all colors areprinting fine but not aligned to one another.
    I have included scans of a part of a rainbow print that illustrates the misalignment as well as the quality report page.

  • LAN related error 79 LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP M276nw

    Hi. I read all the error-79 related posts in the forum bur nothing works.
    I updated to the last firmware possible. There are not print job in the queue. The power cord is directly connected to the power outler, no UPS...
    It worked well when I installed the printer a couple of weeks or so ago but now the moment the printer is on it starts cycling: error 79 - restart - error 79 - restart, and so on and on.
    It seems related to the LAN connection. if the printer is in wireless mode all is working perfectly.

    Hi @Rand_xi,
    I read your post and see that you are getting a 79 error when using the Ethernet connection. I would be happy to help you.
    If you manually set the printer's IP, make sure that it is outside of your router's DHCP range. I have seen this fix this problem on another post I had previously.
    If you are still having issues, restore the printer defaults and use the automatic IP address that is assigned to the printer to see if that helps.
    Try turning off the IPV6 off on the printer to see if it makes a difference.  Go to Settings, Network Setup, Network Services, IPv6 and turn it off.

  • Hp laserjet pro 200 color m251n factory reset

    My hp laserjet 200 M251n has stoppped working,  won't print and no display in LCD panel, only power light is on.
    I'd like to try a factory reset but the only option in the manual is via the menus and the "OK" button which of course is not working.
    Is it possible to do a cold (factory) reset on thsi printer?

    I went to refill the tray. When I tried putting it back in it was hard to get back in.  I moved the printer to make sure nothing was jaming it.  They tray went back in and now is stuck. It's it won't release. Totally stuck.  Need help!  Thanks!

    I understand that you are having issues with the paper tray being stuck. I would be happy to help you.
    Make sure the printer is on a flat surface. Open the Jam access door to see if that will help to see what the tray might be caught on. You might have to gently wiggle the tray to get it on the grooves to remove it.
    Here is a picture of the printer. Number 5 is the Jam access door.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M276nw - Cannot Send Faxes via WIFI

    Hi all,
    I have a problem sending faxes from my laptop through the HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M276nw printer.
    I can send faxes from the printer device itself if i place a doucment into the feeder.
    The problem exists when connecting to the all-in-one device via the WIFI, printing is fine and connection is active though when trying to fax a dcoument from my desktop utilising the FAX driver it complains about the printer being offline and cannot communicate to the all-in-one device?
    any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  
    I understand you're having an issue sending faxes from your PC through the HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw.  I would like to assist you with this.  
    The following might help:
    Click on Start / Devices and Printers
    Double click on your printer's Fax icon
    Click See What's Printing
    Click Printer
    If 'Use Printer Offline' is checked as you'll see in the screenshot below, be sure to uncheck it.  
    Next, try sending the fax through your laptop as before.  If you run into the same issue, try the following steps to rule out Windows settings as interfering with fax sending capabilities:
    Click on your Start menu
    In the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboard
    When the System Configuration Window opens select 'Selective Startup' and uncheck Load Startup Items
    Click the Services tab. Check the box at the bottom for Hide All Microsoft Services
    Select Disable All
    Select Apply and OK
    Restart your computer when prompted
    Once the computer reboots, trying sending the fax.  
    To enable the programs after you've tested  the machine, just open MSCONFIG the same way and under the general tab, just click 'normal startup' Hit apply and OK and reboot one final time

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - new - Device error and Cleaning cycle issues

    HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - this is a new printer a friend purchased at Staples. It connects WiFi okay and prints when prompted to but it then does a "Cleaning" cycle after every print job. It also displays "Device Error" at the same time. It has been powercycled as instructed and the error continues to reappear and the "Cleaning" cycle continues as well after each and every print job. My friend paid Staples to set up this printer to a new Acer Laptop and D-Link router he also purchased before he brought them home. He was told everything works fine .. they lied .. Laptop and router have no issues .. just the printer. The Laptop sees the printer okay and software is installed without issue. Any ideas why the "Device Error" and "Cleaning" cycle after every print job is happening? He is on the verge of taking the whole outfit back as Staples has not assisted him and instead directed him to download the manuals from HP. Any suggestions are appreciated

    1. Press the Power button to turn on the product.
    2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    4. Wait at least 15 seconds.
    5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
    7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the power button to turn it on.
    Try that out and let me know if it helps.

    Im having an issue with the installation of the software and the scanning of the printer. When i try to do a full install it goes well up to the part where i have to reconnect to usb port to my computer, at that point the installation starts to go very, very slow. When it get to 99% it gives me a fatal error saying i have to restart my computor and do the process again. i have done it multiple times with no success. I followed by going online and getting the drivers from HP and did the installations individually. I am finally able to print. When i go to scan a documents i only get 3 options on the printer: scan to usb, scan to network and scan to wireless.  I dont have anyother options and i have downloaded the drivers for the scanner. I dont know what to do anymore.

    I will do my best to help you be able to scan with the Laserjet pro 200 color MFP M276nw printer.
    There are only 3 options from the printer to scan to, scanning to PC isn't a option with this model, if you want to scan from the computer, you would have to use the  HP Scan Software on the computer.
    I have provided a document for how to scan through the HP Software and from the printer's control panel.
    Scan from Windows 7 With the Full Feature HP Software for HP LaserJet Multifunction Printers.
    Scan From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder) for HP Lase...
    If the scanning software and drivers still didn't fully install and you had the fatal error again, uninstall the software.
    Disconnect the USB cable first. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Then start the installation again, immediately follow the steps in this document after connecting the USB cable please.
    A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. Disregard the printer model. This should allow the software to fully install properly.
