Ready made business entities?

I just had an idea. In the interest of not reinventing the wheel ourselves people use all kinds of frameworks and libraries to diminish boilerplate code. But what about speeding up development by having a library of ready-made POJO business objects completely annotated for JPA and the new [JSR validation|http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=303]?
I'm sure there are many people who keep rewriting basic objects such as Person, Address, Department, Customer, Product, OrderLine, etc, etc...
Wouldn't it be useful to copy/paste these and adjust to your specific business?
Does anyone know if such a library exists? If not it's a good idea for an open source project.

No. The iMixes are created by users like you and me.
It's mixes they have created out of their own libraries.
Note that when an iMix is put up, any songs in it which are not available on iTMS, will not be shown in the iMix.

Can I get ready-made templates for presentation?

I am savvy user of photoshop but I am new to adobe preiere pro. I need to make a presentation for the site http://www.7boats.com/ . Can I get some good ready-made templates in premiere pro so that minimum edit is required by altering text/images? Is it included in the regular license or do I need to purchase anything extra? Any sugestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Premiere has some templates, you can check them out:
Title / New Title / Based on Template.
You can find free and licensed templates (like intro's, lower third) on the Internet but they are usually for After Effects and Photoshop.

Creating a template in Pages is straight-forward as answered here previously. Is there and equivalent for iBooks Author which can start with a blank page and build up the template as required? or can one only adapt a ready made template?

This has proved unsatisfactory to me so far. Lines are left in etc.

There are two basic menus for fonts - one from the main menu bar and one from the toolbar. You can also bring up the font manage dialog.
I don't recommend trying to hard to force an otherwise foreign font, as it inevitably needs to be usable/supported on iOS as well, and that can get tricky w/3rd party fonts, as an example, even with the expanded font support in the latest iBA.
If you need to discuss fonts more, I suggest starting a new thread....preferably with a slightly more brief title, thanks.

Image substitution in ready-made LiveType templates

Hello All ~~
I'm new to User Forums, so here goes:
I know my way around LiveType pretty well, but then I stumbled onto "Open Template" and was delighted to see a bunch of great looking sequences already made!
When I click the "arrow-down" in the timeline for any of these templates, I don't seem to see the images themselves represented in the Timeline. So here's the question:
Why am I not seeing the representation of sample pictures (always bicycle riders) in the ready made timeline, and most important, HOW can I substitute those pictures with my own. I have a good idea of how to import new pictures or motion clips INTO LiveType, but I can't figure out how to substitute what I see as "example" images in the already-made-up-templates.

Thanks for very good advice so far.
Problem is, I had to pick the one template for which there seems to be no explanation about how to manipulate it.
If you have Version 1.2, there's a template called "Title", "Clips".
I looked at another tutorial there for "matte-to" effects, but with both tutorials taken together, there's no explanation as to how "the-one-single-line" in this particular template can hold 4 separate motion images that, first: play together side by side, then whammo, they move their separate ways (with key frame assistance which is one thing I DO understand).....and yet, the 4 separate images seem to "live" on that one line in the timeline display....not FOUR separate images.
Any idea of how this works, or where to find a tutorial that explains/demystifies this???

Are there any good web sites that have ready-made playlists (just the names/artists/albums-not the actual mp3 files)?

Hi! I have downloaded a ready-made website and I can't seem to open it. The "theme" install instructions are talking about a "zip" file which I cannot see. Would anyone know why I can't open it? PLEASE HELP!! Thanks!

I have downloaded three "ready-made" websites for me and it is supposed to have Wordpress in as well. I can see the folders in my downloads but I can't open them. It refers to a "zip" file which I don't see nor a "dmg", only a blue folder. Can anyone help me to figure out how to get this open and set up on my computer? I guess you can tell I'm new and very frustrated. Thank you!

It's not clear what you mean by 'see the folders in my downloads but I can't open them', although it seems possible that a zip file opened/unzipped to create them.
Perhaps if you include a screenshot, and/or a link to the site where you got these, and describe exactly what happens when you try to open a folder that won't open.

Are ready-made borders/frame designs available in PS CS6?

I used Photoshop Elements 4 for many years and upgraded to 10 about a year ago; I recently downloaded Photoshop CS6 for the trial period. In my projects I regularly use the ready-made frame and border designs that are available in the “content” section of PSE. I thought that a more extensive program like CS6 would offer a larger variety of ready-made frames, but I have been unable to find any at all. I’ve checked the Adobe help pages, the CS6 user manual, and also googled for information; I’ve found tutorials on how to create frames but nothing about any ready-made designs. Are they not offered as part of CS6? Thank you in advance for your help. (PC, Win7 OS, PS CS6 vers. 13.0 x64)

Thank you all for the information. (I never would have found those frame options without your screencap, R_Kelly.) Having worked with PSE for so many years, the concept of “action sets” is completely new to me, as are many other features of CS6. I can see I have a significant learning curve ahead of me, but it seems that once I learn it, CS6 will offer me much more flexibility in my designs. In the meantime, it’s good to know there are ready-made options available for download; JJMack, I can just imagine the many hours you have put into the packages you are making available, so I appreciate the link.

Ready made Automation Software. Appreciate your inputs

Hello all.
I have been working on a few simple Labview applications for my Company which is an Aerospace Hydraulics Components Company.
While I was doing a few research for a new project someone asked me why I was using Labview for Automation when there are ready made software that other companies can customize for any applications we may need.
He says he brought this up in a meeting a few years ago but it never went anywhere. He says it would save time and money. The only one I found is microComander.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT ELSE IS OUT THERE THAT IS MORE HIGH LEVEL THAN LABVIEW?
I love Labview although I'm not you r typical labview programmer since I was a text based programmer of windows application but since my background includes Navy Aircraft Hydraulics it is somewhat simple to understand the projects in my company. I also worked as an Engineering Techncian here for a few years. I do not really have a mechanical or electrical engineering degree.
I would like to make sure we are making the right choice even if it means that I will not be able to work with what I like (LabView). Don't want to spend more time than I have to on each project since we may have quite a few.
I would appreciate your opinion on this matter.

A quick google of microCommand appears to have come up with a general purpose library for instrument control. From its buttons and display elements it looks like microCommander is written using LabVIEW.
While I agree that you shouldn't re-invent the wheel you do have to look at what is available and ask if it will meet your needs. Off the shelf libraries don't always meet your need since they implemented what they believed was needed. They did not have you project requirements available.
Using LabVIEW you have access to a complete programming language. You can still use off the shelf librabies in in LabVIEW. So, you can have the best of both worlds.

Deletion of Business entities

Hello real estate gurus,
My client wants to be able to delete business entities without starting at the bottom of the hierarchy (without first deleting rental contract,rental space,pooled space,building,land and finally business entity). Please advise if there is any BAPI or function module that can do this or would this be a huge custom program technical development starting at the bottom of the hierarchy.
Any help would be appreciated.

add-on for this. But Adobe must have done this until now. Why there

Skype for Business - Is it Ready for Business?

Hello Support,
We are evaluating Skype as a potential main solution for all our telephony systems.
We currently see many issues in the Gui Client and whole management proposal from our perspective.
Not sure how others have dealt with it.
With all respect, to us it seems the Business version of Skype is really limited for Companies with few employees.
Some of the problems we see.
1) Can't manage centrally the Phone/Contacts directory.
This means that adding an Employee account in the Company forces every single Employee having a Skype account and add that user in their own "Directory". This is something that is natural to be done centrally and pushed to the end-users.
2) The number of restrictions on the Client are definitely not sufficient in a Corporate Environment (end-users should not be able to: Add, Change, Remove or Block Contacts, modify any of the settings or views of the GUI etc). Basically the management console should control every aspect of the managed clients GUI and functionality. Best if those settings could be "pushed" to the end-points instead of dealing with GPO as it is more flexible. You may have totally separate domains (not trusting each other) and GPOs might not be the best way to distribute client settings. GPO would not work on Corporate Phones for example.
3) The system should have the ability to prevent a user to log off from Skype and log on with their personal user. In a Centrally Managed environment you don't want people to mess with the setup. Also, user name and password of their "Skype Client" may not be shared. There are many businesses in the Energy Sector where machines are setup x role and not x user (so when one Employee leaves the account will not be removed).
4) The msi should have the ability to embed (or pass via parameter) the main account where the Client is registered. In the Skype Manager I should then be able to see how many "devices" have been currently installed for the same user and manage/approve them accordingly.
The management office may not approve the Company Skype account on a device that does not belong to "Corporate".
5) Calls may be done world-wide but Support isn't.
Some countries (Singapore for example) are simply refused a chat session with the Skype Support with a "Not supported in your own Country" and redirected to a "Self Service" FAQ.
6) Skype conflicting with the Lync proposition and may be completely replaced by Lync in the "near?" future.
Not clear if MS wants to make money on the "voice" platform, on licencing or both.
Skype would be an attractive platform if those problems could be resolved but if potential business clients are pushed to Lync then the competition becomes Cisco Unified Communication, Huawei E-Space, Polycom UC etc (totally different ballgame). A company going through that complex setup would then also have to consider free open source such as Asterisk (using any free XMPP client and SIP integration).
So, if one wants to go completely "free" and have a very simple setup Skype could be an excellent choice, but the current issues (from our perspective) hinder the chances a mid-size / large enterprise adoption of the platform.
I have looked at the SkypeKit solution that may be used to completely re-create the GUI and probably eliminate many of the previous listed points, but rewriting the GUI is not a small task and you end up getting stuck with a proprietary "in-house" solution.
It'd be nice to see Microsoft views in this matters.

I am an export manager consultant for a French company. Starting in September, I shall be in charge of sales personnel in France as well as international sales primarily those from North America. I want to set up bi-monthly video chats between the sales team, the office and be able to talk with all people (maximum 8 people) when I am travelling, am in the office, or from abroad. Unfortunately, I need to be reacheable 24/7. I also have my company.
The office has PCs, two IPads and I have a MacBook Air.
The Company has 4 personal accounts. I have my own personal account at the moment.
Should we all merge these accounts under one roof? Can I add my personal account to this eventual business account?
What is the best solution to be able to video chat, have a minimum credit on each salesperson's iphone and be able to manage all this without too much trouble? (I have not been able to find the requisites needed for a Skype business account and its advantages over a personal account.

Which file do I work from with ready made template zip files?

I'm determined to figure this out. I hope you can save me some time. I'm new to website building and have built websites from scratch. Now I've been given asked to make a website for my employer using a zip file of a company template. When I extract it I get 2 folders HTML templates and Templates. If I click HTML Templates > it opens 3 folders HTML, IMAGES and INCLUDES. I have been given instructions that the templates provide me with the CSS, HTML and code I need to make standard pages. The zip file is to contain all thecode plus a number of ready pages complete with content containers already laid out and all I have to do is enter dummy content of my own. Sounds easy but making my own seems a lot easier! Where do I start. Just need a few tips and off I'll go I'm sure. Hoping you can help me otherwise I'll ask for help internally tomorrow. Thanks.

Selecting Business Entities For Classification Assignment

I have several entity services which I can access when configuring UI Patterns ie Object Editor
However wherever the configuration requires an entity or buisness entity I do not have any entries to select.
ie Current Business Entity in the Classification Assignment Screen or Dynamic Attribute Administration.
I am confused by the meaning of business entity in this context, is this related to Knowledge Management indexes rather than entity objects created using entity service?
Any suggestions would be appeciated.
