Real "DOT tabs" solution

I've read most of the DOT-related topics of this forum, but I could not find the solution to my problem (and it looks like I am not the only one having this problem) : the DOT tabs disappeared from my "display settings". I don't know what I have done to make them disappear, but the fact is, they are not there anymore. I had them still a few days ago, even with SP2.
My config : XP SP2, Motherboard Gigabyte K8NF-9, Videocard MSI NX6600GT PCI-Express, drivers 71.22.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the MSI drivers, in vain.
Is there a known solution, something like a registry setting?
Thank for your help.

Hmm, well I doubt the BIOS had anything to do with it. Perhaps you used Live Update?
I usually see that if a newer driver get's installed or something like that. But all of a sudden without any changes made? Uhh..uh
Perhaps the msicpl.dll was deleted, or perhaps antispyware, or perhaps even spyware did it. maybe even changes in msconfig?
I haven't a clue really. Best thing is to revert back to the driver you know worked.
The file msicpl.dll is still present in my windows directory.
If I used Live Update? Mmmhh, maybe, I can't remember.
So, to your knowledge, there is no trick to make it reappear, such like a .reg for the regsitry?

  • Error 1097 for NI_AALBase.lvlib: Real Dot Product.vi

    Hello,
    I have recently upgraded to version 8.2 from version 7.1 (which I thought was superb!).
    Anyway, when I transferred my code over to 8.2 I got the following error message:
    'An exception occurred within the external node called by a Call Library Function Node. This might have corrupted LabVIEWS's memory. Save any work to a new location and restart LabVIEW.
    VI "Myprogram.vi" was stopped at a node " " at a call to "NI_AALBase.lvlib:Real Dot Product.vi:7"
    Note that I get similar errors for other vi's that use NI_AALBase.lvlib
    I follwo instructions to save in other directory and when I rerun the program all is well, until next time i start up LVIEW when it happens again.
    Now I thought that this may be a compatability issue between 7.1 and 8.2 as i did not unistall 7.1 from my machine.
    So i have now unistalled all NI software following NI instructions (editing regedit, etc) and I have only installed 8.2, but when i run my program, the error is still there.
    I looked up error codes in Labview and found that this is error 1097.
    I followed similar post on this website but not really got an answer on how to solve this problem.
    Can somwone please help?

    Hello Janell
    thanks for the reply. to answer your questions:
    -I installed and uninstalled about 4 times - each time removing all NI components and clearing the registry. Finally checking that all NI components were removed using MSIBLAST.
    What i mean by a previous release is that I got sent 2 lots of LVIEW discs for 8.2 - one lot in August and one in November 2006. So what i mean by a previous version I mean the 8.2 discs sent to me in August - same version 8.2 just different discs.
    I tried installing on another computer and moving the vi's over - it did not work.
    I tried everything! my local NI support engineers did not know where else to go.
    Finally yesterday, one of them sent me version 8.2.1 and the problem was solved.
    So, it is a bug in the 8.2 version!
    Thanks for your help.

  • RSAT and the missing Attribute Editor tab [solution]

    PROBLEM
    When you install RSAT on a Vista workstation or Server 2008 system, that is managing a 2000/2003 based forest, you do not see the Attribute Editor tab when looking at the properties of a User or Computer object in Active Directory Users and Computers(ADUC).
    MORE INFORMATION
    The Display Specifier is not updated in the Configuration Naming context, because the 2008 schema changes have not been executed on the forest. Part of the upgrade updates the forest Display Specifiers.  The Attribute Editor tab actually uses functions within the ADSIEDIT tool , more specifically the ADSIEDIT.DLL extension. Although the DLL is probably registered on the RSAT system, the ConfigNC need updating, in order to expose the tab in the ADUC interface.
    SOLUTION
    Use the ADSIEDIT tool (or other tool of choice...ADexplorer, LDP etc), with a user who has rights to modify the Configuration Naming Context.
    Navigate to cn=<languagepage>, cn=configuration, dc=<domainname>
                 (where <languagepage> is your relevant language...see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324097)
                 (where <domainname> is your domain dn)
    Under the cn=User-Display object, edit AdminPropertyPages and add the line 11,{c7436f12-a27f-4cab-aaca-2bd27ed1b773}
    Under the cn=Computer-Display object, edit AdminPropertyPages and add the line 12,{c7436f12-a27f-4cab-aaca-2bd27ed1b773}
    Under the cn=Default-Display object, edit AdminPropertyPages and add the line 4,{c7436f12-a27f-4cab-aaca-2bd27ed1b773}
    Open ADUC from the Vista or Server 2008 and you should now see the Attribute Editor for the object you selected.  Note: Attribute editor is only shown when ADUC is in Advanced View.
     -Stuart Hudman

    Never mind, i got it.... the prefix number is irrelevant as long as it is in sequential order... to be able to see the attribute editor tab for groups i just
    Under the cn=group-Display object,
    edit AdminPropertyPages and
    add the line 5,{c7436f12-a27f-4cab-aaca-2bd27ed1b773}
    the first number (5,) was my next available number.
    FYI: English is 409. the actual DN would be cn=409,
    cn=DisplaySpecifiers, cn=configuration, dc=<domainname>

  • IPad Safara Keeps Refreshing Every Tab - SOLUTION!

    For some time now when I am using Safari on my iPad the different tabs constantly reload. So, whether I have two or nine tabs open, if I leave one for a minute while looking at another and then return, that page reloads upon opening the tab. As you can imagine this is quite frustrating. I'm wondering if more than a few others have experienced this as well! I wasn't having any problems like this on my iPhone's Safari app so I knew some solution must be possible.
    I just found that by going to Settings/Safari/Open New Tabs in Background and turning that setting OFF it has cured the issue! I currently have six tabs open and none of them are reloading!
    Hope this helps someone!

    THis did not work, I'll try closing the app if possible And try again.
    but before I had IOS 8 I had 7.1. Something and my tabs never reloaded. I could have them sitting no problems and now, now every single tab reloads regardless if I go to another tab for a second. It is NOT the website, because prior to updating I kept mygoodreads pages open and they did not reload at all. I'm really sick of this and I think Apple needs a solution such as making it not refresh at all.

  • Adding Tabs to a ToolTipText

    Hi. I learned (from someone else) how to add several lines to a ToolTipText using HTML (because \n won't work):
    public void setToolTipText(String[] TextLines)
        StringBuffer finalText = new StringBuffer("<html>");
        for (int l = 0; l < TextLines.length; l++)
            if (l != 0) finalText.append("<br>");
            finalText.append(TextLines[l]);
        finalText.append("</html>");
        this.setToolTipText(finalText.toString());
    }What I would like to know now: is there a way that I can add tabs to my ToolTipText? HTML (as far as I know) doesn't have a real tab specification. And the \t character doesn't seem to work here...

    Thanks. I used both of your suggestions, and it worked great.
    Here is my solution:
    // Allows multi-line messages with tabs.
    // Of course, the tabs are fake because HTML doesn't allow real '\t' tabs.
    public void setToolTipTextWithTabs(String[] TextLines, int TabSize)
        StringBuffer finalText = new StringBuffer("<html><table align='right' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0'>");
        for (int l = 0; l < TextLines.length; l++)
            finalText.append("<tr><td>");
            finalText.append(TextLines[l].replaceAll("\t", "</td><td>" + CreateRepeatedString(" ", TabSize) + "</td><td>"));
            finalText.append("</td></tr>");
        finalText.append("</table></html>");
        this.setToolTipText(finalText.toString());
    public String CreateRepeatedString(String original, int times)
        StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
        for (int t = 1; t <= times; t++)
            buffer.append(original);
        return buffer.toString();
    }It doesn't work exactly like normal tabs, but it's actually quite a bit cleaner. I'm using these ToolTipTexts as a preview for something, and now I like the previews better than the end result! So I'll try to find something to put the final result into HTML like the ToolTipTexts.
    Thanks again.

  • Solution Manager Setup System Monitoring DB Administrating Alerts

    Greetings experts
    Can someone please explain how I can get "DB Administrating Alerts" to display in Solution Manager.
    Satellite system (FSD) database MTE's are all active (RZ20).

    Issue: DB Administrating Alerts do not display.
    *Solution Manager 7.01 SP3 / DB2 09.05.0002 / AIX5.3
    Regards
    Peter Babbington

    HI
    1.Do i need to configure the CCMS_OnAlert_Email, for every alert that you have, in the satellite system?
    Best thing I would say is to copy method ( RZ21 --> Method --> Method definition )CCMS_OnAlert_Email to Z_CCMS_OnAlert_Email in Solman and assign this auto reaction to  MTE class of satellite systems.
    2. How do i configure this out of solution manager, and bypassing the satellite system?
    You have to install/configure sapccm4x( for monitoring abap ) on satellite systems by giving details about Solution manager. Then the alert will be sent to Solution manager from satellite system and the configured auto reaction will send mails .
    Also go through the links

  • Real Player messes up Safari

    Using the latest version of Safari 4.04 and I was trying to listen to the audio streams on this page (http://www.walkwiththeking.org/audio.asp) and they were not working so I foolishly downloaded the latest version of Real Player (as I was using a version from 2008). Know I still cant listen to the audio of the page above, but also whenever I go to this website (http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/Backto_theBible/) I cannot listen to the real audio tab as I get a "plug-in not found" error message. The old version installed all worked fine. How can I UPGRADE back to the 2008 version of Real Player?
    The latest version was installed as for some reason FireFox works like a charm on the page, yet FF has issues with the Windows Media plug-in while Safari does not, please dont ask me to explain it. So I keep 2 browsers for these hassles.
    John

    The latest version of RealPlayer is 11.0.1 and that works with your links, although it takes a while for the audio to start up. Also, your system meets the requirements for that version.
    So, something else if preventing you from hearing the audio. Did you close Safari before installing RealPlayer, as well as repair permissions after installing it?

  • Title length in JTabbedPane tabs

    Has anyone ever written code to make JTabbedPane tab titles shorten automatically when there isn't room for all of them in one row?
    Our users like neither of the many-tabs solutions that Swing provides (scroll and multiple rows of tabs), and would prefer a style similar to Eclipse where the tab titles shorten if there isn't room for the entire text.
    All I really want to know is - did anyone do it? And if so a few hints as to how you achieved it.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Well here is the code I developed in case it is useful to anyone else. Didn't have to do anything clever like work out the length of the text in the end - as you will see in the code:     import java.awt.BorderLayout;
         import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
         import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
         import java.awt.event.ContainerEvent;
         import java.awt.event.ContainerListener;
