Real player can't find mp3s on my Zire 72

I have mp3s on the 2gb card in my Zire 72 but it can't find them to play them. looking at the card from the Palm OS it shows nothing on the card and Real player can't find any of the songs either. What's wrong, does my OS need an update or something?
BTW, what is the maximum SD card the Zire 72 can read?
Post relates to: Zire 72

The Zire72 can use a 2gb standard SD card (not an SD HC one!)

Did you put the mp3's into the /AUDIO folder on the card?  Are you sure they are truly mp3 format, and not .wma?

Get the Apple USB Superdrive. It is available on the Apple store page of the Apple web site. Just look under storage on the left hand column under accessories for the Mac.  $79.  I have one since I have a lot of DVD's and CD' s. I burn DVD's made from movies created with iMovie.  Works fine. You may be able to find one cheaper at Other World Computing.
BTW, you can expect that future computers will not have optical disk drives. This is definitely true for Apple and I suspect other mfgrs will also as we move more into streaming video and downloading of apps rather than selling CD/DVD versions.

  • Can't find mp3 files

I created a new folder on my SD card called "music" and put a bunch of MP3 files in it from my computer.  I returned the card to my Tungsten E2, but can't see the folder or the files.  From reading on the forums, I now understand that I have to put these files into the RN_Audio folder that was already there.  Unfortunately the SD card is now full and I can't find the "music" folder on my computer or my Palm to delete the files and make room.  How can I locate those files and either move or delete them?
    Thanks!
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Put the card back into the Palm.  Use the Card Info application to Format the card.  This should erase its contents and create the proper file structure.  Then use your card reader on your PC and re-copy your .mp3 files directly into the /audio folder on the card.
Oh, and by the way, the E2 can only read and write to cards that are 1 GB or less in size.  If your card is larger than 1 GB, that's probably the source of the problem.

  • Where can i find mp3 files

i need mp3 files to put on my kids mp3 players - where do i find them?

Some online stores sell music in MP3 format. In addition, any song(except for very old iTunes Store purchases) in the iTunes library can be converted to MP3 when the default encoder is set to MP3.

  • Media Player - can't play MP3 files

I'm have trouble playing my MP3 files on Q10. (Car doesn't support Bluetooth music - only voice commands, hands free calling).
My MP3 files are stored on micro 8gb card - when connecting USB cable phone tells me it "can't connect to my computer(?)"
The USB connection DID work when I realised my 'Phone book was empty'. On voice commanding the settings to install Phone book (which it did) I am back to the 'unable to connect to computer ' message. Are these two events linked?
    What's going on?!
My old Blackberry Torch with card only (No SIM - 'cos it's in my new phone) plays MP3 files fine - but I want my Q10 to play the files.
    Help?

Thank you for your answer. My problem is with a direct link, [http://www.vocacionpasionista.com/Novedades/Un%20deseo%20de%20paz.mp3 this one] .
The data URI seemed to work but just while it's loading, when the page loads the player disappears.
The direct link doesn't work at all, just like with mine, that window pops up.

  • Windows Media player can't find device/ error number C00D1179 - F

This is a fix for the error where windows recognizes and installs the Creative Zen Micro running the version 2.X firmware (or any other MTP device) but neither windows media or creative's software can see it.
How I got this error to begin with...
I had to replace my zen micro because of a headphone jack problem that seems to be very common. It still amazes me that a company that obviously invested tons of money into developing a device like this would let something as stupid as a poorly designed headphone jack ruin it... When I tried to sync my new zen micro I exchanged for at the store, it recognized the initial device firmware. I upgraded to the 2.X firmware and it worked until the device rebooted with the new firmare. At this point, the firmware program couldn't see it even though windows had given me the whole "New Hardware Found" thing and asked me if i wanted to sync with WMP. No other programs could find it either. I tried numerous things to get it to work, but here is what finally worked. This may not fix all the issues of this type but I suspect it will fix most of them.
As this problem is Microsoft's and not Creatives, any device running PlaysForSure (I think "plays if your really lucky" is a better name) I looked at other device forums. I found this post that got me looking in the right place.
    http://www.misticri'ver.net/boards/archi've/index.php/t-3598.html
Step six said to look at the following registry entry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum
This made me look more carefully and realize that I had four Creative Zen Micro entries, confusing my computer into not syncing. The solution is below:
***WARNING- EDITING THE REGISTRY CAN REALLY SCREW UP YOUR COMPUTER!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
    . Unplug the device
    2. Open Regedit by Start -> run, regedit
    3. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SB
    4. You will see a bunch of folders with incoherent letters and numbers. Expand these once to see another unreadable folder. When you click on this, you'll see a FriendlyName field on the right side. If it says Creative Zen Micro or whatever your device is, delete the higher level incoherent folder, it should start with VID.
    5. Plug your device back in and let it reinstall
    6. Hopefully it will say docked when you open windows media player
This may not fix all problems of this nature. If it doesn't, look at the link in the earlier part of this post.
BTW, Creative support, we aren't all idiots who don't realize that we don't have WMP0 installed. If we tell you it worked before and stopped working now, and also included a microsoft debug file clearly showing that there is something very strange going on, don't send us a stupid thing to check like whether WMP0 is installed and make us wait 24 hours for the next useless response.

    Interesting. Thanks for the information!

  • Nokia Music & Real Player Can't give sutisfied ser...

My Phone Model Nokia 6120 Classic. When i heard music or see Video,if i want to forward or Backward the music/video, i can't do that.this give me bad impression. Pls. Solve the Problem.

In S60 phones that don't have media keys, you will normally find that pressing and holding the scroll up/scroll down sections of the navigation key will fast forward/reverse video played either through the gallery or opened directly in RealPlayer.
When playing music files in the phone's built-in music player, you need to hold down the scroll left/scroll right sections of the navigation key (pressing either once will skip track, holding them skips through the current track until you stop or the end of the file is reached).

  • Mac Intel and Real Player - some info

I've been grappling with the problem of getting Real Player to run on an iMac Intel for some weeks. I have now solved my problem so post my experience here in case it is helpful to anyone else.
Only a few weeks ago Realplayer was not written to run on the Intel iMac. This was not obvious from the Real site (a sign that marketing people are in charge over there, all negative information is banned in case it creates a bad impression, never mind the cusotmers going mad trying to find out some basic and essential information).
Well Real Player does now run on the iMac Intel. Again the Real website is useless for any serious information about the why's, when's and wherefore's of this, but it can now work, so I'll be happy with that.
However when you install the Realplayer (I installed the free version, don't have experience with the paid for version, experience so far doesn't incline me to pay for it) it may not work straightaway. One apparent problem is that behind the scenes it seems to set your Audio output to a higher bit rate than is appropriate. This creats the apparent behaviour that Real player runs, and successfully streams, but no sound emanates.
Here are the things I did at the end of which it worked.
    1. Find the Real Player application under Finder, click on it and select "Get info" (from Finder menu) and tick box to run under Rosetta. I am not sure if this is now necessary but I did it and it works, so I'm not undoing it.
    2. Open, then close GarageBand. This was recommended by other posters.
    3. This is what took me ages to get right.
    Go to Applications/Utilities
    Open Audio MIDI Setup
It should open in the Audio Devices tab, if not, click on Audio Devices tab (top middle, left tab)
In selection box marked "Properties For", select "Built In Audio"
At this point the right hand pane should open with details of the built-in speakers for the iMac Intel. Note that if the right hand pane is empty or has a message about Output not being supported, this is because you need to select "Built In Audio" under the "Properties For" box.
Makes sure that under the Format selection box you select "44100"
Close Audio MIDI Setup and then run Real Player.
    Hope it helps someone.
Or maybe I was the only one left struggling with this!

  • I inserted a DVD into my MacBook but can't find it, open it, or eject it.

I tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions on the Mac help menu.  Usually when I insert the DVD the DVD player pops up.  However when I open QuickTime player can't find the DVD anywhere.  It seems like the computer isn't reading the disk.  There is no icon appearing on my desktop that I can place in the trash/eject.

    Many ways to eject:
-dragging and dropping the icon for the CD into your trashcan
    - Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the left mouse button until the disc ejects.
    - Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
    - Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
    - Press COMMAND-E.
    - Open the Terminal application in your Appl/Utilities folder. copy & paste the following:
    /usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
    - Boot the computer into single-user mode (hold down command - s through the boot process.)  At the prompt copy & paste:
    /usr/bin/drutil eject
Restart the computer enter reboot at the prompt or shutdown
    - restart hold down trackpad button

  • C5-03 Office vs Real Player

I used podcast to download news in video format. First it worked well. But another day the phone read all the video news in text or something like that and play with office. Then the Real Player can't play those news any more. Can any one know how to keep office and real play can still play the video files?

you're right, my nokia hangs a lot too. It closes any running apps without warning and sometimes it closes the internet explorer too. The features are same, the new browser's option button get in my way most of the time when ive got to click on something. I cant zoom in, (which i could in the previous browser) click unlock is still there, the clocks the same and the speed is still the same. AND THE MOST STUPID THING IN MY C5-03, THE INTERNAL MEMORY IS WAY TOO LOW! When i unpacked it and checkec the memory, only 10 out of 75 mb was free, which eventually decreased too, and when i explore the phone memory, its always empty. And because of this, i cant install apps. Because the default download location is the phone memory and i couodnt even download the software update. C5-03 is a stupid phone.

  • Have sansa mp3, Windows media player on old pc now want to move music(mp3) to ipod touch and Mac itunes can't find a way to do this

I have a Sansa mp3 which I used Windows media player to download music to.  Family made the move to Apple.  Now need to move mp3 music to itunes on Mac.  Can not find way to do this.  MP3 device does not show up when connected to Mac by USB. Please help!

In the iTunes folder there should be a folder saying "Import to iTunes". It is either in Music/Itunes or Music/Itunes/Media. Put the music you want on your iPod in this folder, start iTunes, and sync.

  • Can't move MP3's from Real Player into ITunes

i'm not sure how it has happened but my 'Real Player' music files & MP3's no longer automatically launch into I-Tunes. It looks as though ITunes is no longer my default player but when i try to rectify this i get a message saying "An error occurred while updating the default player for audio. You do not have enough access priveliges for this operation" !!! (This comes as a surprise as it is my computer!!!).
I don't remember changing anything other than instaling LastFM recently (this has now been uninstalled).
Any ideas what i can to make Itunes my default player again?
    thanks

LastFM probably changed the settings on you. As is often the case, uninstalling doesn't remove/reset everything associated with the file.
Have you tried changing the association manually or just with iTunes?
