Real Player dont work in Firefox 5

Real Player dont work

Try using Firefox 3.6 that works with RealPlayer. You could [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 download] and install the portable 3.6 version whilst keeping the Release firefox 5 for day to day work, with all your bookmarks and settings.
You could also consider the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ compatibility reporter]
There are many [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?w=2&a=1&created=0&created_date=&updated=0&updated_date=&sortby=0&asked_by=&answered_by=&num_voted=0&num_votes=&q_tags=&q=Real+Player++5 thread] [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?q=RealPlayer++5&num_voted=0&num_votes=&asked_by=&answered_by=&q_tags=&created=0&created_date=&updated=0&updated_date=&sortby=0&a=1&w=2 s] and some seem to offer conflicting answers, but it is working with Firefox 3.6. I do not currently use Real Player myself.

Since these are media sites, my initial suspicion is a Flash issue. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

This is a copy of ONEof the keys  in the registry I changed  as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR  software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others  they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so  I downloaded the software and installed again.

  • Flash Player not working in Firefox

Suddenly Firefox will not play flash player content called
when I play games online. It worked fine a few days ago.
When I click on the link, it opens the game page, but where
the game should appear, I see a blank black box. When I click on
the "Play online game" link I also get a large empty black box.
I am running Windows XP on an HP Pavilion ze2315us laptop. I
recently installed trial version of Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.
In efforts to fix the problem I tried the following:
Removed adblocker addresses that might conflict.
    Checked blocked sites
    Removed and reinstalled Flash Player.
    Reinstalled Firefox.
Set folder options to use Firefox to open SWF files
    All to no avail.
I tried the web site in IE. Had to download and install Flash
Player again but it works fine in IE.
Afterwards, it still did not work in Firefox.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Real Player on Safari and Firefox

    Hello all,
I couldn't use Safari or Firefox to listen on Amazon website, Real Player audio samples. On Safari, the webpage goes to an empty page. Firefox, tells me that there are a missing file. I'm using Real Player 10.1.0 Universal Binary.
Does anybody here has the same problem to browse music on Amazon website?

I think it would be best to uninstall and reinstall the Realone player. Here are instructions for doing so. You can download a new player here.

  • Getting mp3 player to work in Firefox

    Hello
I need to embed some sound files in a web site and when I use the straightforward media plugin option the media player works fine in IE with a slimline control bar (as desired) however it does not work in a Firefox browser.
If I change the player type to x-mplayer 2 it does work but the control bar is bigger and not customizable.
Is there some other player I can specify that will give me a slim control bar (or at least customizable) and will work in both FF and IE?
I have found no solution after browsing the internet and would be grateful for your suggestions.
Is using Flash going to help in any way?
    Many thanks
    Wadyaro
    <embed src="mysong.mp3" width="32" height="90"></embed>   DOES NOT WORK IN FF
    <embed src="mysong.mp3" type= "application/x-mplayer2" width="32" height="90"></embed>   WORKS IN FF but undesirable control bar

To work in FF and IE, you need to have  an <object> tag and  an <embed> tag.  Note: the embed tag was never accepted by  the W3C web standards but it works in browsers that require it.
So your code should resemble this:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="366" height="56">
    <param name="movie" value="Player-skin.swf">
    <param name="quality" value="high">
    <embed src="Player-skin.swf"  quality="high" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"   width="366" height="56">   </embed>
    </object>

  • Flash Player not working on Firefox, playing everything low quality on Chrome

    Running Windows 7 64-bit
I was using Firefox and starting to watch a video on YouTube, and set it to 720p fullscreen. However, I noticed that the video was oddly low quality for 720p, and then I looked at the YouTube player bar and saw that even that was fuzzy and low quality. I tried to update to the latest version of Flash Player - the first time I got an error, but it seemed to install fine afterwards. I started up Firefox again and nothing using flash was working. Websites told me to install Flash Player. I am aware that this is a known issue, but I tried using Chrome instead and Flash Player worked just fine on that, except it was still low quality. I can't seem to find an option to change to high quality, and it still isn't working on Firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

    I went here:

What you've downloaded there is not the full version, but a Debugger. The full version can be downloaded from here and is only 4,403KB: Download standalone Flash Player installer

  • Real Player not working

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to access the videos at http://www.learnerstv.com, however I keep getting the following message from the embedded Real Player:
"A component needed to play this content is not available.
Real Player may be able to download the missing component."
At which point the prompt asks me if I would like to try opening the file in Real Player (not embedded in the web page, rather the actual program on my computer), if I select "Try in Real Player" then Real Player opens and says:
"Some needed components were not available."
And of course there are no components showing in the window, none available.
I've viewed the "Technical Help" section of the site and I do have the latest version of Real Player, I have Flash player and Shockwave installed as well. Interesting enough though, it does work for some videos, such as:
    http://www.learnerstv.com/video/video.php?video=36&cat=Physics (first video in series)
    but not for:
    http://www.learnerstv.com/video/video.php?video=37&cat=Physics (second video in series)
All the videos work however when I run them on Windows through VMware Fusion. I don't have any firewall/security protection running either.
Does anybody have any ideas on this?

Real Player, much like Windows Media, has pretty much abandoned the Mac platform. They still make a version (WM has a QT plugin that doesn't always work either). A lot of playback ability depends on the codec use and/or the kind of DRM baked into the video. Some of it requires Windows, which is why it works the PCs version but not the Mac.
If you can get it to work via Fusion, but not native on the Mac it would seem to be one of these compatibility issues. Your choice is basically to either use Fusion/Parallels or a regular PC or not use the video at all.
As for Firewall, don't worry the built-in firewall in XP is OK. There is also some good basic free anti-virus s/w. Check out AVG or Avast. Both offer free versions.

  • Flash player doesnt work with firefox no matter what i try to do.Have windows xp.It does work if i use to internet explorer.Dont know what else to do.Need help

Cant get Flashplayer to work with firefox

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash player; one for IE (ActiveX) and one for most other browsers including Firefox (Plugin). You do not appear to have Flash installed for Firefox (Plugin) on the system used to report your question (click "More system details" to the right of your original question, "Shockwave Flash" is not listed). You can check in your Firefox Add-ons > Plugins to see if "Shockwave Flash" is listed but disabled. When updating Flash on a Windows system with IE installed, you should always update both.
Download (for your OS and browsers), save, close all browsers, run the installers that you just downloaded from the following page:

  • Windows Media Player not working in Firefox 7

This pertains to a beta Internet radio page at http://www.radiofreeneptune.com/ with Windows Media Player embedded in the page.
Prior to Forefox 7, browsing the page with Firefox had the correct media player interface appear (black, with blue buttons) as soon as the page loaded. Clicking on Play caused the music to play.
Having updated to Firefox 7, Firefox stops working for about a minute when the page is first accessed (it appears to be buffering a lot of audio). A crude Media Player interface finally appears. Audio starts playing immediately, even though the embedded control has it AutoStart set to false.
FireFox has the Microsoft Windows Media Player for Firefox 1.0.0.8 installed.
Any idea what might be causing this?
    Thanks.
    Jack

Try to remove the old (Npdsplay dll in the plugins list) WMP plugin in case that is used.
The embed for Firefox has autostart="1" not not autostart=false (0) like the object for IE.

  • Flash Player 9 works on Firefox 2 and Netscape Navigator 9, but NOT on Safari 3

After hours of uninstalls/reinstalls of the most recent
release of Flash Player, repairing of disk permissions, and a
number of other moves to fix Safari ... so Flash content would
    play, I stumbled onto a semi-obvious fix. Safari's "Preferences..."
menu had been over looked. I did not go there and look under
Security > Web Content. There, I eventually looked and found
that "Enable plug-ins" was unchecked. With that simple preference
enabled, Flash media was again playing on Safari!. WS

I have the EXACT same problem. i cannot find a solution, this
is the first post ive read where someone has the exact same
problem. Mac powerbook g4, powerPC processor, OSX Tiger, Firefox.
Flash was working fine up until today for me.
Now movies give me the message;you must have adobe flash
player 9 installed'. when i try to install player it finishesthe
install then brings up Firefox Adobe page, which says additional
plugins are needed, when i click on the plugins install, it takes
me thru the install then says 'failed' with the option to install
manually, which takes me back to the original download page. i have
tried untinstalling, restarting, changing internet plug.
    preferences.....anyone ...help????

  • Flash player not working with Firefox 5

    Hi all:
I have been having problems with my Firefox 5 (also was happening with 4) and the Flash Player (newest and previous versions also). Basically, whenever I open a page with flash content, Firefox gets frozen and "not responding" appears on the top bar. After some time, it comes back
I've tried reinstalling Firefox and Flash Player (also formatting laptop - Windows 7) and this is still happening.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    W.

You might as well stop wasting your time. The problem seems to be centered around FireFox (since Adobe Flash seems to work fine with IE and Chrome).  After FireFox begin running Flash as a separate process, it no longer retains preset volume settings for Flash, instead, each new FireFox window resets it to max volume. As a result, several times I've had my ears blasted (this can lead to hearing loss and/or damaged audio equipment). This only happens with newer versions of Flash. Consequently, I no longer use the latest versions in FireFox. I'm thinking about totally dropping FireFox and moving completely to Chrome. Looks like neither Adobe or FireFox are gonna budge to fix the problem.
