Real player - itunes

Ok, I have 26 episodes of video shows, the problem is that when I try to "drag and drop" the file on iTunes, it doesn't work. So I try to "add file" and it still doesnt work. I figure the problem might be that these videos are all playing in realPlayer. How do i transfer the RealPlayer files into iTunes?
PS. I tried using QuickTime to open the file and it said "it is not a win32 valid application"

You can only play and add video to iTunes that is in a proper MPEG format and not AVI or RM files. more about video and iTunes can be found here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302758

  • Moving music from Real Player to ITunes

All my music is in Real Player. I just got my first IPOD and now I need all those songs to be in the ITUNES program. Is there a way to move it without downloading each CD all over again?

There are converter programs available. The problem is that RA is a lossy compression so converting them to something else will only lose more information resulting in even lower sound quality.

  • Can't move MP3's from Real Player into ITunes

i'm not sure how it has happened but my 'Real Player' music files & MP3's no longer automatically launch into I-Tunes. It looks as though ITunes is no longer my default player but when i try to rectify this i get a message saying "An error occurred while updating the default player for audio. You do not have enough access priveliges for this operation" !!! (This comes as a surprise as it is my computer!!!).
I don't remember changing anything other than instaling LastFM recently (this has now been uninstalled).
Any ideas what i can to make Itunes my default player again?
    thanks

LastFM probably changed the settings on you. As is often the case, uninstalling doesn't remove/reset everything associated with the file.
Have you tried changing the association manually or just with iTunes?

Prior to put them to iTunes, you have to convert the video in compatible format.
Best for that is Handbrake --> http://handbrake.fr/

  • Extremely poor sound quality on all apps after using Real Player!

    Hi there
On my Leopard iMac (Core2Duo) I am experiencing extremely poor 'lo-fi-like' quality on all audio from all applications including iTunes, Quicktime and Safari as a result of using Real Player to play a file online.
I very rarely use Real Player and this was the first time I'd used it in months to even a year. The file was a simple RAM file from a store website allowing me to listen to a sample of a music file. When played, the quality was low but I expected this from a music sample, and from Real Player. However, after closing Real Player, I noticed the sound quality had dramatically dropped to an almost un-listenable quality.
I have restarted and uninstalled Real Player with no luck. The poor sound quality still comes through my internal speakers, as well as external speakers, so it seems like a software issue.
Not sure what to do, please can anyone help as the audio is used all day every day on this iMac!
    Thank you

Just tried it as I did get iLife with my Mac. GarageBand froze for the first few times I loaded it up, then I managed to get it to work. Played with the on-screen keyboard which produced perfect sound.
Closed GarageBand, restarted iTunes, tested, working perfectly! Crystal clear sound back again!
Thanks so much for that, really appreciated!

  • Real Player? My saviour!

Recently I had to reinstall everything into my computer. Meaning I lost my entire iTunes playlist (including many purchased direct from iTunes). So now i have an empty iTunes and a full iPod, and because of this my only options are to either delete my ipod and repurchase and re-add ALL my songs -impossible! Or Import from my iPod to iTunes, also not possible as Apple in there "amazing" new technology **** doesn't allow you to do such "illegal" things.
But i wanna keep everything on my iPod, but still update it. Real Player has come to my aid!
I went to real player, asked it to manage my iPod, then while the iPod was connected to my computer I asked it to search for all music files through all folders. Hey Presto! Real Player found all the files from my iPod - you can only listen to them while iPod is connected.
Now I found a CD I wanted on my iPod, selected it, the asked Real Player to import it to my device(iPod). And now, there it is! on my iPod! Without all the shity hastle iTunes was causing me.

In fact it's easier than you think.
How's all the ad-ware and spy-ware with RealPlayer?
Anyhoo, if you are interested in getting the music from your iPod to your HD, let us know.

  • Using iPod Classic with Real Player

I recently received an 80GB iPod Classic. This is my first portable media player. I have purchased music from the Real Store using RealPlayer. This music is rights protected, and I do have the proper rights to use the downloads. In Real Player, these music downloads come with a .rax suffix, instead of .mp3. Can anyone tell me how to set up my system to play my Real Store purchases on my new iPod? Everything I've read leads me to believe it can be done, but I've tried the recommendations on the Real Support site, to no avail. I would really appreciate any insight.

Really? My general impression is that all copy protection is proprietry and, as far as the end user is concerned, is just a bad thing. iTunes can't read WMA protected content, Window Media Player can't read iTunes protected content. RealMedia just extentds the compatability headache. Media Players will generally cope with only one form of protected content.
I don't have any practial experience with the Real protected format, but the usual workaround for this is to burn your protected content out to CD, assuming you have the necessary rights, then import in an unprotected format. There will be a small loss of quality due to the re-encoding but this should be minimal. There are also programs that can speed up this process for some formats by virtualising the CD and automating the intermediate stages.

  • Transfer real player video to i tunes

I down loaded a real player video & want to transfer to i tunes how do i do this?
Also how do i make i tunes my default player as i never use real player
    thanks
    Paul

I down loaded a real player video & want to transfer to i tunes how do i do this?
iTunes cannot play Real content, so you'd have to convert your video to a format iTunes supports. I haven't used any Windows converters that can handle Real content, so I can't make any specific recommendations. Perhaps someone else here will be able to suggest a tool.
how do i make i tunes my default player as i never use real player
Go to the Advanced preferences in iTunes and click the Set button next to "use iTunes for Internet content". That will set iTunes to be the default player for all the formats it supports. That will of course not include Real content since iTunes can't play Real's format.
    Hope this helps.

  • I downloaded Real/Player. When I tried to play clip got msg: You do not have authorization to update this copy of Real/Player, R/P is op. on locked disc. Have no idea what to do?

I just downloaded Real/Player to my SnowLeopard Mac OS X version 10.6.8 dual core processor intel core 2.16 GH. 2.5 GB.  I downloaded and tried to play a clip from the web.  I received a message:  YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORIZATION TO UPDATE THIS COPY OF Real/Player.  Real/Player IS OPERATING ON LOCKED DISC.  I'm new at navigating on a Mac.  I would appreciate any help I could get for this or any beginner tutorials out there?

    BDAqua,
Ihaven't replied because I've been ill.  Thanks for your ongoing support, this is very frustrating being almost computer illiterate.
Here the link to the original Real Player download http://http://eu.real.com/?mode=rp_mac.  I uninstalled all Real Player Utilities and files on my hard drive and downloaded it again.  I cannot get a clean copy.  The clips I downloaded are still there and so is the problem, no audio, no video.  I opened up the console and it's like reading a different language, literally!  I know I'm taking a huge liberty but perhaps you can find something in the errors that will help (I thank you in advance this gives you any clues)

Add it to your iTunes library into the Tones tab, then sync tones onto your iPhone. That is, if you don't have iOS 7, which seems to remove that capability.

  • Cannot stream using Real Player

    Hi all,
Basically, I can stream to the phone using third party apps like Spodtronic and Vimio live TV, but I cannot stream anything using Real Player. It connects then just sits there on 'loading' until I get a server time out. This happens with music sites, mobile YouTube, Orb, etc.
One thing to note, I'm on T-mobile UK's basic Web 'n' Walk package which states in Terms & Conditions that it does not allow streaming, however, it seems there are others on the same package that can stream and I have been assured by a tech at t-mobile that I am not getting blocked by them. Interestingly, their test N95 had the same problem!
From the responses I have had on other forums it seems there are lots of others out there with the same problem. Not much in the way of suggestions for solutions though.
    Can anyone help?! Please!

    That's easy...Shuffle doesn't play RealPlayer music.
Does that just go for the 2nd gen shuffle? Because my
1st gen one does? Thanks for the help
News to me... Page 13 of iPod Shuffle (1st Gen) Users Guide:
Audio File Formats Supported by iPod shuffle
    • AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P) (up to 320 Kbps)
    • MP3 (up to 320 Kbps)
    • MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
    • WAV
    • AA (audible.com spoken word, formats 2, 3, and 4)
A song encoded using AAC or MP3 format has near CD-quality sound, but takes up much less space than a song encoded using AIFF or WAV format. When you import music from a CD using iTunes, it is converted to AAC format by default.
Using iTunes for Windows, you can convert nonprotected WMA files to AAC or MP3 format. This can be useful if you have a library of music encoded in WMA format. For more information, open iTunes and choose Help > iTunes and Music Store Help.
iPod shuffle does not support AIFF, Apple Lossless, MPEG Layer 1, MPEG Layer 2 audio files, WMA, or audible.com format 1.

  • Software updates 10Sept2008/Real Player

    Hi
i just downloaded and installed the new updates for Quicktime, iTunes 8.0 and Frontrow. The software updates appear to have some negative ramifications for my Real Player software. As a result of the updates, playing Real ".rmvb" files is impossible. everything was fine and dandy before hand, i could watch it effortlessly, but now i am getting the following alert:
    "Unsupported document type.
    ile://localhost/Users/Ronan/Documents/Azureus%20Downloads/Scrubs%20Season%205/Sc rubs%20S05E13%20My%20Five%20Stages%20(2)%20%5BFuFu%5D.rmvb"
I tried browsing the Real website for clues, but all that could be found were forum topics from 2007 (which do not resolve the issue) and a George Clooney video. My Real Player is version 11 for mac.
If anyone has encountered this problem and has found a method of playing .rmvb files, i would be eternally grateful for the info.
