Real Player/Quicktime issue

At the moment when i highlight multiple tracks and click open...i get a new player for each track instead of just the one??
I would also like to know how i can add tracks to the player while music is being played??
Basically i want to be able to open and add music tracks like in windows media player back on the PC

Dare i suggest using itunes at it is actually a data base on top of Quick Time any ways.
For Realplayer press command (apple key) +Y to open playlist box and arrange playlist to suit.
Shift Command (apple key) +N will open a REALPLAYER Web browser window!
Personal rarely use Realplayer and only have it to listen to BBC RADIO 4 !

  • Real Player and Realdownloader are not downloading videos.

These apps were working until 7/2/13. The popup does not appear on the top right of the video. They do work with IE. Now I've deleted them with Control Panel and reinstalled, but no luck. I'm running an XP box.

Solved the whole Real Player-Firefox issues. Simply go your control panel, select "Programs", under "Default Programs" click on "Change default settings for media or devices". Find Video Files and choose Real Player logo to Import Music, Video and Pictures using Real Player. Click "Save" at the bottom of the window, then closeout and restart Firefox. You should see the "Download this Video" icon in YouTube videos once again and download at will. One caveat, it seems to work great on amateur videos and the like. I had an issue downloading some music videos. It's kind of hit or miss, you will have to keep trying to download a video if it doesn't work initially. I noticed that it downloads videos as a .dash file and then Real Player downloader will convert the file to mp4 or whatever format you have it set to in your preferences. These directions are for Windows 7, you will have to find the equivalent control panel options for other Windows OS. Good luck!

  • Real Player, Windows Media Player and Quicktime plugin problems - HELP!

All I want to do is view game trailers in different website in either real, wmv or mov etc. I have downloaded the programs (free ones) and installed them but they still persist not to work in the browsers. The program themselves work fine just not in the browsers where I use them the most. I have also checked the internet plugins file on my computer and they are in there. What can I do for them to work??

  • Real Player files (and quicktime)

I need to burn some Real Player (.ram etc) files to DVD (movies). I have tried ffmpegx to convert them but can't seem to get it to work.
Is there a good alternative for Real > Quicktime?
    TIA!

Lots of different methods could be used.
Increase the dimensions of the "source" file to get a larger dimension.
Change screen resolution (800X600 is good).
Since you are capturing just the data viewed on your monitor (and audio) the choices are yours to make.
The quality will not be any worse than the source and I use QuickTime Pro to "export" the high quality capture but it really depends on the source file.
If it is 15fps and you capture at 30 you're really not improving anything and making a huge file.
I mainly use Snapz Pro to record on screen "tutorials" and I save them as QuickTime .mov files. But it could be used when true exports are too complicated or extra software is too expensive.

  • N81 real player issues

    Hi everyone..my first post!!!
    I have a nokia N81 8GB and up til yesterday i was so impressed with it...then i transferred an mp4 movie by bluetooth my girlfriend created for me and found that real player displayed the following message;
"unable to play sound or video clip. trying to play partially"
I thought this was due to the fact i had transfered it from a samsung...but then i decided i would transfer it to my N80 and see if i got the same error...and the answer is no!!! it played fine!! so from the N80 i then transferred to the N81 and still the same error message!??
the N81 has real player version s60.31.33.01 A6
does anyone know how to uninstall that and download and install the N80 version s60.31.20.01 D
please please help as i really liked the N81 up until this point!!

    format - video/mp4
    resolution - 352 x 288
    bitrate - 110kps
    size - 5.49 MB
I have also tested it on my friends N81 to see if I was experiencing a tehnical fault with my handset but his O2 release is the same as mine with the same error message??!?
A colleague of mine who works for O2 said you can update the mobile realplayer software...but Im sure theres a way you can delete the software included and replace it with the older version...Or at least have both versions installed??!?
Perhaps you can offer some advice and how to resolve this issue as upto now I was really impressed with this handset and the fact it handled everything I wanted it to do!!

  • Quicktime superceding real player on my computer?

How do I set quicktime to supercede real player on my computer?

How do I set quicktime to supercede real player on my computer?
By setting a default player app for each class of media file. This can normally be done in either the Finder "Info" window or file's "Context" menu. Just make sure the files are actually compatible with the defaulting player app.

  • Real Player and Quicktime

I am a new mac user and finding some of the sites I frequent olny have their files supporting real Player. I really like Quick Time. Which one is better, or each has pros? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don't waste your time with Real Player. Try downloading the Mac version of Windows Media Player, that solved most of my problems with streaming video online.

I was having problems with the Real Player Video downloader, and saw the fix posted here in the forums, but all the threads are now closed. So, I was wondering...is there a consequence to making the alteration in the fix? What happens now? Does the browser have a different set of problems? Here is the fix we were advised to apply:
If the value is changed, what effect does that have?
"type about:config in the address bar
Then in the filter box type dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll.
Then change the value to false."

  • Extremely poor sound quality on all apps after using Real Player!

    Hi there
On my Leopard iMac (Core2Duo) I am experiencing extremely poor 'lo-fi-like' quality on all audio from all applications including iTunes, Quicktime and Safari as a result of using Real Player to play a file online.
I very rarely use Real Player and this was the first time I'd used it in months to even a year. The file was a simple RAM file from a store website allowing me to listen to a sample of a music file. When played, the quality was low but I expected this from a music sample, and from Real Player. However, after closing Real Player, I noticed the sound quality had dramatically dropped to an almost un-listenable quality.
I have restarted and uninstalled Real Player with no luck. The poor sound quality still comes through my internal speakers, as well as external speakers, so it seems like a software issue.
Not sure what to do, please can anyone help as the audio is used all day every day on this iMac!
    Thank you

Just tried it as I did get iLife with my Mac. GarageBand froze for the first few times I loaded it up, then I managed to get it to work. Played with the on-screen keyboard which produced perfect sound.
Closed GarageBand, restarted iTunes, tested, working perfectly! Crystal clear sound back again!
Thanks so much for that, really appreciated!

  • Real Player video encoding

    Hey all,
I know that compressor will not encode to a Real Player video file (.rm), so I am looking for the best app that will allow me to encode (preferably from within FCP 5), to a real video file. The app HAS to be Tiger compatible.
I know Compression Master is not compatible with Tiger as far as Real video goes, nor is the free plug-in available from Real's support site.
Anyone know if the Squeeze Compression Suite is truly Tiger compatible in this regard? Any other options for me would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

    Interesting.
I'm assuming Real shows up as a custom option then within Compressor? I've uninstalled the plug-in, but if it works from Compressor I'll gladly re-install and try my luck.
Is there any special workflow I need to know to access the Real option from within Compressor?
I actually tried the Real export from QuickTime Conversion within FCP 5, and it worked, however, the issue appears to be synch.....my audio lagged the video by about 45 frames or so.

  • Software updates 10Sept2008/Real Player

    Hi
i just downloaded and installed the new updates for Quicktime, iTunes 8.0 and Frontrow. The software updates appear to have some negative ramifications for my Real Player software. As a result of the updates, playing Real ".rmvb" files is impossible. everything was fine and dandy before hand, i could watch it effortlessly, but now i am getting the following alert:
    "Unsupported document type.
    ile://localhost/Users/Ronan/Documents/Azureus%20Downloads/Scrubs%20Season%205/Sc rubs%20S05E13%20My%20Five%20Stages%20(2)%20%5BFuFu%5D.rmvb"
I tried browsing the Real website for clues, but all that could be found were forum topics from 2007 (which do not resolve the issue) and a George Clooney video. My Real Player is version 11 for mac.
If anyone has encountered this problem and has found a method of playing .rmvb files, i would be eternally grateful for the info.
    Regards,
    Ronan

  • No audio (line-out) for some QT and all Real Player

    This is strange.
This link, which uses Quicktime, will only play SOUND via my internal speakers: http://www.umeportal.com/player.aspx?fid=393&ftyp=3&pgid=7&hid=13728&fp=qt
While this link will play SOUND via external speakers: http://www.apple.com/getamac/
Same with all the HD trailers: http://www.apple.com/trailers/ The the SOUND plays externally ok.
Here's another one that will ONLY play from internal speakers: http://www6.islandrecords.com/site/promo/quicktime/killersbonesquicktime.html
Real player, will play SOME mov files externally, but most others mp3, mpg, mov, will ONLY play via internal speakers.
    Ok, what gives?

    Ugh....nevermind.
I removed USB Overdrive and external audio started working for everything.
This is strange becaues I have been using USB overdrive for about a week w/out any issues.
At the time I noticed the problem...I had been using QT to convert mov files to h.264, mpeg4, Sorensen 3 files and for some reason, using the QT export features -- with USB Overdrive installed -- mucked up audio play back. Go figure.

  • Real Player et al

I use Quicktime whenever possible, however some media on the web require Window's Media Player and/ or RealPlayer to play.
Any suggestions or cautions for me before I install these two other players?
One concern is that I don't want Real Player or Window's Media Player to override my Quicktime Preferences to have QT play media whenever possible, as well as possible compatibility and software corruption concerns....?
    Thanks,
    Russell
    G5 2.7 Dual   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

I have all three of the media players installed on my Macs. None have ever caused me any issues.
One thing to note is a possible conflict between Real and QT as to which player gets control of the .smil format. You'll find QT settings in the Sys Prefs/QuickTime/Advanced and clicking on the MIME Settings button. Remove the check mark (Miscellaneous) for SMIL 1.0 and restart the browser for these changes to take effect.
Many Web pages use Real Player (and SMIL 2) to link to files. If the QT plug-in is giving you error messages more than likely the format of the .smil file is Real Player.
Having three media players is like watching TV using three different sets.
But, dems da rulz. There will never be one player fits all until all content providers follow industry standards. QuickTime Player does follow the rules. Windows Media Player seems to want to create their own. And (IMHO) Real Player will be forgotten in a few years.
