Real Player .rax files

i used to use real player and have some songs i would like to bring into itunes. is there a way to convert .rax files for use in itunes?

Welcome to discussions! After "googling" .rax, it appears that this is the file extension for the protected files from the Real Player site. If that is the case & they were downloaded from the RP site, the only thing you can do is burn them to an audio CD, the audio CD should act just like a store bought CD.

I have numerous real player movie and tv show files which I would love to watch on my new Ipod but I can't even get Itunes to open a .rm file. Can Itunes convert .rm files?..

Problem with streaming on Real Player - only on Mac OS X

I am having a serious issue since the last sunday. I use to listen to some radios from my home country on my Mac, and everything was fine til the day I turned on my computer and got this message from Real Player: " Requested file not found. The link you followed may be outdated or inaccurate. rtsp://real.rbsonline.com.br/liverbs/*/broadcast/rdgaucha/gaucha.rm "
I tryed everything, and the link seems to work perfectly on any windows computer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Real Player several times, tried to use other softwares like VLC to play, and nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions? Please help.

When I'm using disk utility and use "verify disk" I get the following message:
"First Aid failed

Real Player video encoding

Hey all,
I know that compressor will not encode to a Real Player video file (.rm), so I am looking for the best app that will allow me to encode (preferably from within FCP 5), to a real video file. The app HAS to be Tiger compatible.
I know Compression Master is not compatible with Tiger as far as Real video goes, nor is the free plug-in available from Real's support site.
Anyone know if the Squeeze Compression Suite is truly Tiger compatible in this regard? Any other options for me would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

I'm assuming Real shows up as a custom option then within Compressor? I've uninstalled the plug-in, but if it works from Compressor I'll gladly re-install and try my luck.
Is there any special workflow I need to know to access the Real option from within Compressor?
I actually tried the Real export from QuickTime Conversion within FCP 5, and it worked, however, the issue appears to be synch.....my audio lagged the video by about 45 frames or so.

Can't move MP3's from Real Player into ITunes

i'm not sure how it has happened but my 'Real Player' music files & MP3's no longer automatically launch into I-Tunes. It looks as though ITunes is no longer my default player but when i try to rectify this i get a message saying "An error occurred while updating the default player for audio. You do not have enough access priveliges for this operation" !!! (This comes as a surprise as it is my computer!!!).
I don't remember changing anything other than instaling LastFM recently (this has now been uninstalled).
Any ideas what i can to make Itunes my default player again?

LastFM probably changed the settings on you. As is often the case, uninstalling doesn't remove/reset everything associated with the file.
Have you tried changing the association manually or just with iTunes?

Does anyone know a video converter to convert Internet video recordings. Its in an IVR file, I can get it to work on real player on a widows but cant get it to work on my mac.

Try downloading and using VLC. It is a very popular media player that plays just about every file format out there. That way you would not need to convert it.

Can't download real player file from link

I'm new to the mac world and I am trying to download a real player file (.rm) from a link that is on one of my course websites (I've tried Safari and Firefox). When I "right click" and select "Download File" it just downloads the actual html link, not the file. I'm able to download the file on my PC with no problems. Am I just missing something with the mac?

Are you running RealPlayer 11? That includes a downloader that tells you when a file is actually available for download.

How do I convert rmvb (Real Player) files to MPEG?

I have a few .rmvb (Real Player) music video files I'd like to convert to MPEG so that I can watch them on my Apple TV. I've tried ffmpegX and HandBrake both both freeze when importing the rmvb files. Is there not a program that will convert these files?

you might be screwed then.... realplayer files are usually quite hard to re-encode due to the closed nature of the files.

Cannot Play .DAT Movie Files in Real Player/Java Media Player

Hi,
I wanted to play some movie files in Solaris 10 (Was curious if the movie might be rendered more crisply in Solaris than Windows :) ) but found that .DAT files are not played in Java Media Player.
So I downloaded the Real Player for Solaris 10 x86 (The bin file which is a self executable installer). Now Real Player plays mp3 songs without a problem, just like Java Media Player, but it does not play any movies with a .DAT extension.
I thought may be I need to download a small patch and hence googled a bit, but could not find anything. So googled again to find if there was some work around, but could not come up with anything.
Has someone faced a similar problem? If anyone could help me with this, I would be really thankful.
P.S: I have boasted to my friends how good Solaris 10 is and if I get the .DAT movies working in Solaris 10, they will surely think of getting it installed on their comps cause it pretty much does everything else !!

That application is in the Applications -> Utilities Folder.
Change the popup menu under "Properties for" to Apple logo Built-in Output. And change the Source to Internal Speakers, and format to 44100.0 Hz with the downward pointing triangle next to the Hz rating.

Real Player not executing the 3gp & MP4 Files

Hi,
When i run the 3gp and MP4 format files in real player it shows the following error
"Unable to play either sound or video can be paly" and it automatically start the sound of the clip and not show the video.
Also when i record any video by camera it also shows the same error while running the same file by Real Player
Firmware Version is : 12.0.026.
Please help me to resolve the problem.

I also got the same error on my Nokia N79 and hence took it to the care centre but the care centre told me that the file size must have been too large cause it can play files upto 100mb .

Real Player files (and quicktime)

I need to burn some Real Player (.ram etc) files to DVD (movies). I have tried ffmpegx to convert them but can't seem to get it to work.
Is there a good alternative for Real > Quicktime?

Lots of different methods could be used.
Increase the dimensions of the "source" file to get a larger dimension.
Change screen resolution (800X600 is good).
Since you are capturing just the data viewed on your monitor (and audio) the choices are yours to make.
The quality will not be any worse than the source and I use QuickTime Pro to "export" the high quality capture but it really depends on the source file.
If it is 15fps and you capture at 30 you're really not improving anything and making a huge file.
I mainly use Snapz Pro to record on screen "tutorials" and I save them as QuickTime .mov files. But it could be used when true exports are too complicated or extra software is too expensive.

Playing .ra files using Real Player SP

I used to play music files from redhotjazz.com site using Real Player. Since moving to Lion I now get the message A general error has occurred. I am running the latest version 12.0.0. of RealPlayer SP.

I recall having similar issues. We changed to name the files .mp4 and have no difficulties. We still use the prefix.
