Real Posting Vs Statistical Posting

Hi All,
i have got some doubts related to these.
a. Is there any concept behind real and statistical posting?
b. What does it mean to get transaction data from real objects?
c. Are there any rules which can be applied on cost objects to make it real or statistical?
thnx in advance
nikhil

hello nikhil,
As real posting is concerned it is the actual transaction occurs which post the documents but as in statistical it is not complete posting so u can post it no. of times or no. of posting u can do in statistical posting . but in real posting u can do only one posting.
2.  Suppose if u r posting the document for real order then in this case ur cost centre will be statistically posted and data will also statistically posted on profit center.
if data is posted on real cost center then here ur order will be statistical .and prifit center will also be statistical ,
this means that in all cases the data will be statistically posted on profit center either u have real coste center or order.
3. yes u can do this in customising  tht whether u can make ur cost center real or stastical.
thanks

  • Cost center receiving the real posting even WBS Element are present

    Dear All
As per standard SAP documentation, when both cost center and WBS elements are present in the same accounting document, WBS element will take real posting and cost center will take statistical posting.
But in the MIRO document cost center took the real posting even the WBS element is present in the line item of the accounting document.

    Partha Pratim Bhar

    Hi
If the WBS element is not statistical, then the real posting should be to the WBS element. However, if you see, when the WBS element becomes a statistical,(when the check mark is added in the control tab) the field cost center becomes active and needs to be input.
In your case since you are deriving the cost center through a substitution rule. Normally if you rules of priority during a document posting, the substitution and validation rules takes a higher priority. So apparently the cost center will get the real posting!! Since the real posting is already made to the cost center, the entry to the WBS element would become a statistical one...
Thats the reason why the situation changes when you deactivate the substitution rule. I am not sure about the entry in the WBS element...My guess is that you would not be able to settle the costs in the WBS Elements.
    Hope this clarifies.

  • CJ88 one line is real instead of statistic.

    Hi
After deactiving a user exit on Assets i have a line which is real in FM instead of statistic when running CJ88 AUC to final asset.
Does someone knows how to correct this?
    best regards

    Hi Salvator,
I read again your issue and if I understood clearly you have deactivated the user-exit by mistake (now is activated again) and after running CJ88 you have a real posting instead of a statistical one. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If I am right,  I know that what I will say is obvious but did you try the following?
1 - Delete the real entry by FM_DLFI (i am really sorry I typed wrong in the first time).
2 - Reverse the settlement done by CJ88 (within CJ88 menu Settlement - Reverse).
    3 - Re-run CJ88
4 - Check the results in FM tables.
If you reverse with the user-exit activated again the posting will be correct, in my opinion.
Please let me know your comments.

  • PS: Settlement of specifiek amounts without real posting on WBS

I would like to know which settings are to be made to make it possible to settle specific amounts from WBS elements to lets say cost centers without posting on the settling WBS element first. This means that the WBS element that is to be settleted becomes a negative value.

    Hi
In continuation to my previous answer,
in fact there are two types of rules for amount settlments.
Rule 1: Settle specified amount each period
    Rule 2: Settle upper amount.
In the first case every month a fixed amount is settled from WBS and it can even
go negative if the debits are less
In the second case system settles specified or the amount available on WBS which is less in each period. In this way system restricts to a maximum amount available on a WBS and it will not go into negative anytime.
But in both the case every period there must be postings on WBS to settle
It is not possible to post 0,01 euro to a WBS element in say january 2007  and settle every month until the end of the year to another CO object.

  • Settlement for real CC with statistical IO for information

    Hi experts,
Is there a way to make a settlement with real cost center to cost center but with the statistical internal order linked to the posting.
Ex : FI posting GL: 60XXXX for 100EUR on CC A (real) and IO AA (statistical)
This should be settled on CC B
I would like to have for my settlement : 60XXXX 100EUR origin CC A origin IO AA
destination CC B dest. IO AA
Is there a way or user exit to do so?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    Hi Chris
As Ajay said, you can post to two cost objects.  Create an I/O type (Statistical) and create a field status variant with the CC and I/O mandatory if you can do so on one account, or just make them available for posting.
The FI entry will debit the cost centre (real) and also debit the Stat I/O statisticall.
Create a cost centre assessment cycle which can take the costs off the CC without it doing anything on the I/O.  Your I/O will still have the data.  If you would like the cost centre costs to be 'moved' to another one, create a distribution cycle rather.
Hope this clarifies it a bit.
    Kind regards

  • Statistical posting to Internal order and Cost center while real to PSG

    Dear SAP Gurus,
There is a requirement is to post statistical posting to Cost center and IO while real posting to PA. I tested and found that I can have only either of Cost center or IO as statistical receiver. Is this standard behaviour or some error in set up.
    Thanks,

    Hi
I am not sure how IS-H works.. But for sure, it should allow you to enter 3 stat objects...
There would be some ABAP trick pertaining to IS-H which I am not aware of...
I can guide you a bit...  During SD billing, ask abaper to put a break point and manually enter the values for cost center and IO and then post the doc.... One of these 2 will be the outcomes
    a. Either it will get posted or
    b. It will get over written before posting....
based on the outcome, you will have to decide your next course of action
Also, if your cost center to IO is one to one mapping (Chances would be rare), you can simply write a substitution which would always prevail
I am sorry I could not offer you a complete solution.. But, this is what comes to my mind...

  • Real or Statistical Posting....

    Hi,

  • Statistical posting object

    Hi All,
When there is a posting to cost center and profit center, profit center being statistical.
When there is a posting to cost center and internal order, cost center being statistical.
May I know where can i see in configuration of this setting of which object being statistical when there are 2 object affected in the posting.
    Thanks

    Hello
When you enter cost center and a real internal order/WBS during posting, the real posting goes to internal order and statistical postings to cost center.
When you enter cost center and a statistical order/WBS during posting, the real posting goes to cost center and the statistical posting goes to internal order/WBS.
There is no configuration. This is standard feature.

  • In one FI posting can we have two real objects?

    Hi All,
When I am posting FI document with two real Objects (WBS & Cost Center) still system is accepting and created document.
As per My knowledge in FI Document only one real object to be accept but my case it taking two real cost object, why?
Is there any logic & activity and change any setting for this?
    Thank you
    Anil

    Hi,
you can enter CO objects of more than one type in the FI document, but there is a "hierarchy" among the different object types that decides, which object gets the "real" posting. All other objects will only get a statistical posting, even if they are configured to allow real postings ( are "real objects" in your terms) .
    Examples:
You enter a cost center and an internal order in the document: --> order gets real posting, center statistical.
You enter a profitablitiy segment and an internal order in the FI document --> segement gets real posting, order statistical one.

  • Getting Error while posting through KB11N : No true sender object entered

    HI Expert,
We have stastical internal order defined and same we are using in Asset. Let me explain the scenarion.
We created the Purchase requisition with the stastical Internal Order then we did Purchase Order and MIGO -Goods Receipt.
    Now we realised that wrong Internal Order  was used. Now we want to tranasfer cost from that Internal order to New Internal Order. we are trying to post through KB11N but while giving the all details i am getting error as per below;
    No true sender object entered
    Message no. BK175
    Diagnosis
You have entered a statistical object as a sender. Statistical objects, however, are only intended for use with dual account assignments.
    Procedure
    1. If you require a dual account assignment, enter a true object as a sender also.
We are using cost element with having cost element category 90.
I don't no which is the true sender Object.
    Thanks in advance
ealry help will be highly appreciated.

Your postings had happened to a statistical internal order.  I hope the real postings might have happened to a cost centre.
You cannot settle anything from a statistical internal order.  It is just for information purpose only.  If the above posting had captured a cost centre (real posting), you can distribute/assess the cost from the cost centre to a real internal order for your purpose.

  • Internal order posting vs cost center

    HI,
I have a requirement like this; in our company we have allowed the posting to be made only through internal orders no
direct cost center postings are allowed. Is there any report to carry out a comparison between internal order posting and cost center postings? I just want to check the transaction which directly posted to cost center instead of internal order.
    please help.
    thanks
    best regards
    gayani

    Hi,
Do you want to trace postings which were done only on cost centres without I/O? You can go to KSB1 and select the line where Auxiliary account assignment is blank - this will mean that these lines were posted only to cost centre.
Also, if your I/O are real one, you can select in KSB1 postigns with '4' value type, which will mean that the posting on cost centre is real and not statistical; therefore, no postings on I/O happened.

  • Posting Asset Acquisition to Internal Order

    Hello Gurus,
We are using an Investment Order to collect the actual acquisition cost of an asset.
ie, When we do F-90, we are assigning an Investment Order to the asset line item, but the problem is that after the posting of F-90, the value of the transaction does not reflect in the IO reports.
Please advice, what could be the cause and if there is any way in which the transaction can be reflected in the IO reports.

    Hey Sachin,
That was a really nice reply, thanks a lot.
However the scenario here is a little different. Here all procurement expenses are being posted thru PR and PO to an AUC and in such PO a Cost Center [for real posting] and a statistical Internal Order[Investment Order type] is being assigned.
So, here no settlement is taking place between the IO and the AUC.
Now, at the end the AUC is being settled to the final asset.
The users complaint [always complaining ; - )] is that when the AUC is being settled to the Final Asset, the value is not reaching the IO, where they have posted a budget and want to compare the actual with the budget.
Looking forward to hear soon from you.
    Thanks Again

  • Depreciation that doesn't post to G/L - how to report?

We created a new depreciation area which we have to do for managerial reporting.  The true depreciation will post and we'll report mainly for FI.  However our new parent company requires for managerial reporting that we look at a statistical depreciation (which of course is at different %'s then the real depreciation and can go into negative book value).  So we have the new depreciation area and the key at the different %'s - my question is how do we make it so we can look at that depreciation area and see what the monthly statistical depreciation should be?
Does anyone have any experience with having two different depreciation rates for an asset and wanting to post both?  One for FI and one for CO?  The real posting would be there for CO as well - but with CO reporting we can look at different cost elements to look at the statistical postings and ignore the 'real' postings.
    Any words of wisdom?
    Thanks
    Karla

    Karla,
These are the options for Posting:
    0     Area Does Not Post
    1     Area Posts in Realtime
2     Area Posts APC and Depreciation on Periodic Basis
    3     Area Posts Depreciation Only
4     Area Posts APC Directly and Depreciation
    5     Area Posts APC Only
6     Area Posts Only APC Directly
    Now you use I think:
1     Area Posts in Realtime     for your normal depreciation area
0     Area Does Not Post         for your statistical area
I don't think that you can change an existing one and that you have to create a new depreciation area
With the transaction AFBN - New Depreciation Area you can copy the values from your arera to the new one
How to set this up is based on your requerements.  When it create postings you need an extra set of G/L accounts and when you want to have it in CO then cost elements for the costs.
In the most cases you use then 9.... accounts.   You need to change your reportings stuctures to other wise you get 2 times depreciation in your reports.   In the most cases you have 2 versions. One by depreciation area.

  • BAPI/Function Module for posting internal order + cost center plan

    Hi Guru:
Is there any function module/BAPI, which could be used to post internal order + cost center( both of them )plan data?
    Like post a record:
    internal order = 10000
    cost center = C1000
    amount = 1000$
    for plann version 30?
It seems the BAPI could only contain 1 cost object, either cost center or internal order.
    Thanks.
    Eric

    Hi again,
I think you may have missed something important here. In R/3 there can only be a single "real" cost object for any one posting. If not then the whole SAP financail model would collapse as there would be "double postings" and that is certainly not wanted.
If there is a need to post to two cost objects, like in your case, then one of the cost objects MUST be statistical.
In your scenario SAP has thought of a solution that might be of help for you. An internal order can be set to be statistical in master data. When posting to both the cost center and the internal order then you will get a real posting for the CC and a statisitical posting for the IO. Reporting does work with this as per your requirement.
Hope this gives you some hints for how to proceed.
    Regards, Johan
Aaaaah. Noted that this was only plan data. Sorry. But the same still applies for plan data postings as well as for actual data postings. If there should be just one posting that could be "drilled down" from IO to CC -> If you post twice then, when doing "Grand total" for instance, double values would appear. So, still IO should be statistical. //Johan
