Real reason behind the non-feature of FM recording on Vision M 60 g

Hi there,
I have buyed the Vision M 30 go then for any reason, some a day it stopped freezing at the main screen and even reseting and formating the player has not make it able to work again. So I went where I had purshased it and paid the difference with the 30 go for having a 60 go using the year warantly given by Creative. Except for the very bad desagrement of loosing the AC adapter (that I paid for in the version I brought at the begining), I found also that a nice feature I was using a lot with the 30 go version was not built in the 60 go version wich is the FM recording. So here stand my real question :
Why does Creative have not brought FM recording feature to it 60 go version ?
BTW, for those who don't know it, in real fact, I'd mesured that autonomy on 60 go is less than 30 go. Size (thickness) is bigger (probably because of the 2 micro hardri've on over the other inside). Weight is bigger (don't have mesured the difference). Ver 30 go was always spinning to read data and sound was just impossible to hear, but the only way to know was to take it in your hand then look out for vibrations. Ver 60 works by caching data (probably to save electricity because making spinning 2 disk takes more juice than ) at a speed that makes it possible to hear in quiet enviroment at a level it is possible to hear in medias (such as movies) for wich there is quiet moments. Finaly, not the last, ver 30 go was fanless, but ver 60, probably because of the 2 disk, start the fan to lower temperature at a regular interval (probably faster in hot ambiant temperature and less in normal ones, but didn't test it to see).
If it were to buy again, because of the no AC adaptor, no FM recording and all those reasons, having the ONLY advantage of doubbling the HD size, I don't think I would again.
I may be a hard to convince as a consumer because I'm also an electronic/electrical engineer and my standards, expectations and observations go further than more people, but I still think you product overcome in almost every aspect of the IPOD.
At last, I'm really sad about having upgraded to 60 go, but please, at least, 60 go beeing the top lvl of its category, just build a new firmware adding this feature ! That will almost cost you any penny at all, but the image you will give to your customer will worth money in its own way. And as we say, for 0 unhappy customer, of 0 will say it to the company. Also, in 0 happy customer, will say it to other people, but for unhappy customer, 0 people will be told to DO NOT buy the product. That was one of most important thing I've learned from my marketing course when at the Uni'versity !
Sorry for bad English: as you may have observed, it is not my first language.

I my own case, I was only using the radio recording feature for talk radio I was unable to listen at specific moment in the day...
I li've in Canada and I shouldn't have to pay for USA pressure groups, nor Europeans should.
That's very bad.
I wish to get an official answer from Creative on this matter.Message Edited by killerfrog on 04-4-20072:2 PM

It's helpful for Mozilla's engineers to be able to measure how Firefox behaves in the real world. The Telemetry feature provides this capability by sending performance and usage info to us. As you use Firefox, Telemetry measures and collects non-personal information, such as memory consumption, responsiveness timing and feature usage. It then sends this information to Mozilla on a daily basis and we use it to make Firefox better for you.

  • What was the original reason behind the 1.5 interface?

Anyone knows? The fact that the update pops up in "Software update" makes no sense to me if it's only intended for a small majority of users. Any thoughts about why the MBPs were shipped "crippled" to start with?

Right. But I've been using macs since 1984 so I know what to do when I see a firmware pop up but do you really think I'm in the majority? The majority is going to install the firmware.
Yes, but 'the majority' are unlikely to perform hardware upgrades themselves, and so, will be unaffected in any case.
So my original question was: What were the motives of Apple behind the original 1.5 interface?
The answer above still holds - we are users like you, and have no insight into the thought processes of the engineers at Apple. You will not get an answer from Apple here. Of course, you are free to while away the summer hours waiting for one...

  • HT2534 The none feature is no longer available!!! Is there a way around this?

When trying to activate an appleid account it is asking for a credit card now. Apple support documentation states it can be done with no credit card but this feature is no longer available. Anyone know a way around it?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Open iTunes and navigate to the app store. Select a free app to download. A simple way to do this is to scroll down to the top free apps box on the right hand side, hover your mouse over the first item and click on the free button that appears when you hover over it.
A pop up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID click "create new account", click continue to create your account. Check the box to accept the store terms and conditions and click continue.
Enter your email address, password, security question, and date of birth, click continue. Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Note now that the last option says "none".

  • The Reasoning Behind The "Two Week Notice"

In the UK we have anywhere between one week and three months for a notice period. It's becoming more common to have to give the employer three months notice and them to give you one months notice.
I've never actually understood the two weeks thing in the US, it seems that someone can just up and leave whenever they like and potentially leave a company in a bad place and likewise the company can just get rid of people whenever they like.
In the UK we seem to have slightly better employment protection laws.
As ever, this is all personal opinion based on my views of things in the UK.

PLEASE READ: This is not about me. I am not thinking of quitting my job. This topic is merely for an open forum discussion.Though there is no legal reason for giving your employer a two week notice and it is mostly done out of courtesy, can you think of any other reasons why you should give a two week notice if you plan on leaving your current position? Now, I agree that if you are planning to leave your current position and there has always been a pleasant rapport between you, management and your co-workers, by all means give two weeks at least, but there are exceptions to the rule. Look at it in another perspective; your company wouldn't give you a two week notice if they were firing you, would they? Here are some actual situations that have happened to people I know and the reason why they won't ever give a two week notice again. • Allowing Multicast to work between real servers behind the CSM??

    Hi,
Just want to know if it is possible to use IP Multicast between real servers on a server subnet that is configured on the CSM. If so how could this be setup?
I've attached a copy of the our CSM config. In particular, the server subnet in question is "vlan 386 server". The Real servers belong to "serverfarm FARM-VISTA-TEST".
I suspect that maybe an interface vlan 386 needs to be created on the router, with pim sparse-mode enabled?
    Any ideas?
    thanks
    Sheldon

the CSM does not know ip multicast, so your multicast needs to find another way to reach the servers.
You will also need a static route on the servers to point 224.x.x.x to the MSFC and keep the rest of the traffic going to the CSM.
Another solution is to use bridge mode.
Create a duplicate vlan 386 on the CSM and the MSFC.
    ie:
    MSFC---vlan387-----CSM-----Vlan386
On the CSM, you configure vlan387 with the same ip as vlan 386 - this will tell the CSM to bridge the 2 vlans.
Configure an ip from the same subnet on the msfc int vlan 387.
    configure multicast on vlan 387.
The CSM should normally bridge all unknown traffic including multicast.
All you have to do on the servers is change the default gateway to be the MSFC instead of the CSM.

  • Reason behind the usage of Infosources in BI 7.0 versus BW3.5

    Hi Expert,
As a general understanding, Infosources are very well required in BW 3.5 wherein we have to assign datasources.
But in BI 7.0, transformation & DTP concepts have replaced the above old concept. But in my current project, we are using Infosources in BI 7.0 environment. I really don't understand the exact functionality underlying in Infosources.
Could any one help me in this regard. Pl give me ur personal ideas apart of document links.................
    Thanks in advance,
    Suman

    IMHO,
Infosources is a legacy of old 3.5 data flow - for example if you activate business content data flow - most likely there'' ll be an infosource . And even if you migrate data flow to 7 version there still will be an infosource (infosource also migrates into new 7 infosource with different object type). I don't see any particular profit in removing infosources in above mentioned setup especially if there are any ABAP routines involved.
Besides, as already mentioned - it is sometimes a good thing to have extra transformation between source and target to perform your calculations.

  • What is the reason behind the concept of "browser as a desktop" (first sparked by Opera)?

In 1998, Opera created a concept of browser as a desktop (by enabling in-window tab arrangement). Later on, Opera made the top of the browser window to act like a second taskbar. Though the tab arrangement is not used in other browsers, the second taskbar (one-button menu in tab bar, docked to title bar) became standard with introduction of Google's Chrome.

  • The real reason for the iTunes update

There was nothing wrong with iTunes actually - they just wanted to torture Aperture users running Software Update to check for Aperture 1.5...
"Look - an update! Oh, that update..."

I'm in the same boat. I've updated to 10.4.8, updated to Aperture 1.5, even have all the previews. I want to sych my iPod to a few Aperture albums. The iTunes Photo section lets me choose either iPhoto or Aperture. The "synch with all" button is checked (but showing 0 photos in parents), and the "sych with album" is greyed out. It doesn't appear to be seeing my Aperture library (if that's an issue), which resides on an external drive.
I don't know what the tricks are to get this jump started. I'm hoping that when everything works, I can just select Aperture albums like I select playlists with music.
Has anyone succeeded with this yet?

  • Reason behind the Vertical lines while iphone asleep

Whenever my iphone was asleep for more than 10 or 15 min, some vertical lines appeared on the screen to last only a few seconds and then dissapear. I had no idea why this happened until a couple of minutes ago.
I noticed that although they only lasted a few seconds, it was definitely a pattern.
I now know what is the source of the problem.
*I had configured my iphone to fetch data every 15 min (since my gmail account is not push). As soon as the phone was asleep, whenever it was time for the iphone to fetch data (while asleep), the vertical lines appeared. Now I know that it happens only when I have that option ON, since when I changed it to fetch manually, the lines did not show.*
Any ideas why this happens? Is this a software or hardware issue?

Hi. I recently updated to software vesion 2.0.2 and started to notice the vertical lines you describe. I had never noticed them before. I have spoken to Apple iPhone tech support and they say they have never heard of this issue. They have asked me to do a restore on the phone via iTunes to see if it is a software or hardware issue. If it still happens after restore they told me to go to Apple store to see about a possible replacement. I have tried the resore and so far I haven't noticed the lines but it is early days.
By the way I have noticed the lines appear randomly and sometimes when I receive an email and get the audible signal I can see them.
Let me know how you get on if you try to restore iPhone

    1) Do you get same difference if you simplify the query so that it includes only one table (i.e. a) with predicates on that table?
    2) DB Version ?
    3) Is XDS_ACTIONDATE supposed to be a date stored as NUMBER?

  • When you open multiple documents, what's the rhyme and reason for the order the tabs are arranged?

Hi, a student had a question and I honestly never thought about this: when you open multiple documents in Photoshop CS4, what's the rhyme and reason behind the order they're arranged in (left to right?). Sometimes they're in one order and sometimes they're in another, and it doesn't always correspond with the filenames or the order in which they were selected.
Thanks, hope someone can enlighten us. It's probably really obvious, but... !

My student says that's not exactly what she was asking. What she meant was, is the arrangement of multiple tabbed documents open within Photoshop (which one is furthest left, which one comes next to it, which one is furthest right etc) dependent on something? In what order they were opened, alphabetical, date created or what?

  • Has the underscan feature been removed from the display settings for a projector in 10.8.2 for any reason or is this an oversight

    Hi
Does anyone know if there is another way to find the underscan feature in display settings for Mac OSX 10.8.2 other than through the display settings.  We set up our ceiling mounted prjectors at the start of September when we moved into our new school building at a significant cost. The projectors linked to the teacher's Imac projected onto the interactive whiteboards at the front of the classroom perfectly on 10.8.1.  We recently updated to 10.8.2 and now the projected image no longer fits on to the boards and is about 2 feet higher up to the wall.  The underscan feature is not available to drop this any ideas.
Moving projectors is not an option due to the cost of bringing in the contractor to extend the ceiling mounts.
    thanks

We have an SR raised which is now with development, but so far we have not been able to pin down what is causing this.
Basically we see entries end up on the recovery queue with nothing written in any logs, even if we increase the level of logging to debug.
This does not happen under load, the exact opposite. If nothing is going on and then we get 5-10 processes start, we see about 1% end on the queue. I pushed 500,000 messages through it last weekend and nothing ended up on the queue, yet a run on Monday of just 100 caused 2 entries on the queue with no explaination.
I have tried everything I can think of, but so far have not been able to re-create the condition at will, it is completely non-deterministic. It also happens on all 5 of our rigs, so it is not machine specific.
I have tuned the BPEL engine and it easily copes with our throughput. We are running with a 10g dehydration store, either single instance or active-passive depending on environment, but I do not think this is going to be causing an issue.
We have about 20 async processes and sub-processes and the problem can occur at any point, although mostly on Invoke and Callback. Each process contains a mixture of async (to BPEL), sync (to External) and a reasonably number of database adapters in each process.
It is not the fact it is placing the entry on the queue that is my issue, it is the fact we have no idea WHY it has ended there as there are no log entries.
Any ideas what else I can try?
    Pete
