Real time debug info by usb cable?

Hi all,
i've been developing applications for j2me enabled phones and found Midway's application (for Motorola phones) "debug log" feature amazing. You can see all kind of info, messages generated during the midlet download and installation on the phone, and the proccess followed during http connections, for example.
I've used it for the V550 Motorola's phone, but now im using a Nokia 6230.
Does Midway work for cell phones other than Motorola (i've tried a bit without result)? Or does anyone know if there is a similar application for the Nokia's phones?
thanks in advance.

All the manuals are listed at the head of the thread.

The TC cannot connect to the computer by USB.. it is network device.. it only connects by ethernet or wireless.. usb is for external drive or printer.

  • Difference entre Deployment License for Standard PC's- ETS RTOS et LabVIEW Real-Time Debug Deployment License

    Cordialement,
    Romain P.

  • Use of Time Capsule as a back up disk with USB cable

I want to speed up my Time Machine backups by connecting my Time Capsule (1st gen) directly to my iMac (mid-2011) using a USB cable.
Please note I do not want to use my Time Capsule as a router (as I have a new one) and I don't want to run an Ethernet cable between the new router and the Time Capsule either since they are in different rooms.
Will this work? Will the iMac communicate with the Time Capsule over a USB cable?

No.. it won't work.. the TC is now and always a network drive. Buy a USB disk if that is what you want.. sell off the TC on ebay or craiglist etc.

  • How to remove the usb cable

I just bought an ipad but I have to use real force to remove the usb cable.
I find nothing in de user guide about this.
    Is this normal?

Yes. It will loosen with time.
A very slight left/right wiggle (not up/down) whilst pulling may help.

  • Firewire vs. USB cable

So I've always used a firewire connection from my miniDV camera to my external HD, then another fire wire to the Mac to transfer media. My problem is Firewire external HDs are becoming harder and harder to come by and they are always more expensive. Now I believe that I had to use a firewire becuase FCE needed a constant stream of data for the time code and the USB cable transmits bursts of data, not a constant stream. While doing research on ACVHD cameras, it looks like the connection is a USB. Can I use USB with an ACVHD camera because the information being transmitted is already in a format the compture can read? Or will I still have to continue using firewire?

Let's see if I understand everything.
All scracth discs are set to external HD
    Current workflow:
    1) Shoot video that is stored onto miniDV tape.
    2) Connect external HD to iMac with firewire.
    3) Connect camera to External HD via fire wire.
    4) Use capture to move video to external HD
    5) Disconnect camera and edit using FCE while still having external HD connected to iMac via firewire.
    6) Make it all nice and pretty, burn DVDs.
    7) Once I'm done, I disconnect external HD and place on shelf.
    New workflow using AVCHD camera:
    1) Shoot video that is stored in camera using internal card or card I place in the camera
    2) Now do I connect my camera to my iMac or to my external HD to transfer footage? I would assume I can tranfer it to the external HD via USB cable.
    3) Once that is done, disconnect camera from extrenal HD, but leave external HD connected to iMac via firewire.
    4) Edit footage so it's nice and pretty in FCE, burn DVD
    5) Disconnect external HD and place on shelf
I buy Western Digital HDs from the local blue and gold big box store, and the last 3 times I looked while browsing, they only have external HD with USB, no firewire ports.
Or would a better work flow be
    1) Copy AVCHD media directly to iMac using USB.
    2) Use iMac HD only to edit footage and create project.
    3) When I'm done, transfer all project files to external HD via USB cable (if I cannot locate HD with firewire ports)

  • Another broken usb cable!

I have an iphone 5 and for about the 4th or 5th time i have a usb cable that is no longer working. They are pretty expensive considering what they actually are. Any recommendations for a cheaper option that actually works and wont affect my phone?

You must be very careless with your cables.  I have multiple iDevices and have never had a cable issue.  Of course, I don't yank on the cords or kink them.
BTW, the cables have the same warranty as the iDevice with which it came.  Is there a reason you didn't bring the broken cable back to Apple?  If a manufacturing defect was detected (and not user abuse, which I suspect is the case here), your cable would be replaced under warranty.

  • How can I tether my Blackberry over USB cable (to sync info)? [SOLVED]

Firstly, I have to thank all of you for making this such a great community and excellent guide to getting almost anything working on Linux - this is what makes Archlinux the best distro IMHO.  I have hardly ever needed to post anything here because the answers are almost always either in the wiki or the forums.
Lately though, I received a Blackberry 8310 and wanted to tether it to use its data plan here in Ecuador.  After following http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Blu … GPRS_Howto using a small USB bluetooth adaptor, this has worked well and the connection stays up nicely, though very slow (to be expected).  Blueman is a great program!  Looking at improving my connection speeds (and reducing my latency), I am now trying to get the phone tethered via a USB cable to the phone, rather than over-the-air (Bluetooth).
The problem I am having is that I cannot establish which device exactly is the USB port connecting to?  Before this phone, this worked fine on my Nokia E51 setting the modem to be /dev/ACM0.  On Nokia, I would connect the phone, select PCSuite mode and 'sudo wvdial movistar' or my /etc/ppp/peers/movistar script would work fine.  Blackberry however is a whole different kind of animal.  I connect it with a standard USB cable, select 'no' to mass-storage-mode on the phone, and can see it in lsusb fine but the only device I seem to be able to use is /dev/tty2 but modem not initialising.
How can I be certain which device I am using?  Will post some lsusb and dmesg.log out put when I get home to give you more info.
thanks for any guidance you can give me,

Well, haven't got much further here unfortunately, though I have more logs and debug information now:
First, I connect the blackberry to the USB port and run 'lsusb':
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0fca:0004 Research In Motion, Ltd.

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
so I have my blackberry device listed by the looks of things..
I then run (for more info):

Maybe the blackberry required 'usb_modeswitch' - though I could not work out how to use this command
Any ideas out there?  Is there a simple way for me to probe USB devices in use?  As far as I can tell it IS /dev/tty2 but I need to confirm this.
    Many thanks,

tried synching iphone for the first time on new PC and got error followed by itunes logo and USB cable picture. No idea what went wrong and now phone is in this screen locked. please help!

I tried connecting to iTunes and neither the PC nor iTunes recognizes the device. I went through all the troubleshooting on the Apple website for this issue and nothing worked. I've reinstalled iTunes, the driver, everything and still can't get either the PC or iTunes to recognize the phone.  I don't know what else to do :-( any help or suggestions are highly appreciated!
I would hate to have lost all my info, especially contacts and calendar items since I have no idea what was backed up prior to the phone getting locked on this screen. I've been told that my only option is to go to the phone carrier and they will reset it for me, but that means it will wipe out all the info.
I hope someone has a fix other than that one.

  • My ipod touch is stuck in connect to itunes screen. I've tried to press Power and Home button at the same time for 10 seconds and all it does is go to a black screen. Press power button again and the usb cable with an arrow towards an iTunes logo.

I have a brand new Ipod touch with front facing camera. Not sure which generation it is. My wife connected the iPod Touch and chose the restore option when connecting to iTunes. It was a mistake and by the time I got there, I saw the screen with USB cable with an arrow facing towards iTunes logo. I cannot get the iPod out of this state.

    Try here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    Also reset the iPod.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Here are a few Links to a helpful Knowledge Base article and a White Paper that should help you out: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BBCAD1AB08F1B6BB8625741F0082C2AF and http://www.ni.com/white-paper/10435/en/ . The methods for File IO in Real Time are the same for all of the Real Time Targets. The White Paper has best practices for the File IO and goes over how to do it.

  • Real-time photo resolution info?

I had been using Quark 8 for a few months and now am back to ID CS 4. While using Quark, I noticed that when you re-size a photo by dragging its frame, Quark will tell you in real time what the effective dpi is of the current size of the photo. In ID, it seems I have to use the INFO panel, which doesn't update in real time. I have to resize the photo, then check out the INFO panel to see what my dpi is, then adjust some more. Is there any way to watch the photo dpi change in real time as I adjust the size?

If you wait a moment before you start to drag the info panel appears to update in real time. Showing effective ppi in the links panel is also pretty close to real time if you don't drag too fast.

  • Windows Vista - Sound Blaster 24 Bit Usb - No Microphone Playback Real Time Kara

    Hi,
I don't no if this problem was just discussed in another thread, if so please giveme simply the link...
I'm Italian, so sorry for my poor english or bad translation...
    PC: Laptop, "Toshiba Satellite A 200 24E"
OS: "Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack " - All update done.
Dev.: "External Sound Blaster 24 Bit Usb" - Driver downloaded from Creative Web Site
At the very beginning I tried the internal Sound Card (Realtek) to do karaoke in spare time, but couldn't hear anything coming from Microphone. So I tried to buy an external sound card. The result is the same.
On "Record Device" I can see the Microphone Device, the level is on top, when I speak in the microphone I can see the green bar light up, if I record my voice I can hear myself when I playback, but no sound in real time.
I read that a lot of people have similar problems, but everone solves in a different manner...
    I tried:
    - I read in other forums advices about to do something like unmute microphone on "Audio playback devices" >> "Speaker" >> "Levels", but I don't see any checkbox, I can see only Speaker Level Bar...
    - As read in other websites, to add a registry key (something like EnableInputMonitor in a specific path), but nothing changes. I cannot find other Device, not in Playback Devices, and not in Record Devices.
Please help, all was great with the same microphone, on old Packard Bell Laptop, old Sound Blaster mp3+ usb, and old Windows Xp.
If no solution, I 'm going on buy an old laptop with Windows xp, or an external Mixer, but I'm disappointed on spending more money...

    well ?

  • Red light after connecting usb cable each time

My ipod shuffle (4th gen) is weird and would not start. I know it's because someday I plugged out the usb cable right after I perform the sync task and forget to press the reject button first.
Now the symtons is: It won't start / recharge, and it even doesn't show any light. Each time I connect it to the PC or AC adaptor, it will show RED light in about 5 seconds, and after few seconds there will be no light and it just dies.
How can I fixed my poor faily new shuffle?

    Hey exkaede,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities! I'd go ahead and try restoring your iPod shuffle to factory settings, so the software will be restored to its original factory condition with updates:

If your computer doesn't recognize the iPod and it isn't appearing in iTunes, take a look at this document:
