Real time requirement of XI

can any one tell me the real time requirement of XI, and what r the buisness need in which the client will prefer to go for XI, and some real time scenarion or situation in which XI can is used .

The XI comes in to picure depends on the business Requirements.
Let's take an example suppose a Company XXX it's having several branches in few areas..this company may be using SAP Systems and the comapny may be having different vendors..the vendors may be using different systems..let's assume the vendor is not having SAP systems their Landscape...eventhough the Comapny XXX want to communicate with the vendors...that time they cannot communicate each other...they can communicate each other their business process only by using XI.
Here Comapny XXX having SAP System their Landscape and the Vendor using a web application...in this scenarion the communication done by using any EAI tool.We are using XI EAI tool to communicate each other.

Real time business functionality using SAP Xi and hardware included????

Hi All,
I am quite new to sap-xi. i have practised some of the scenarios that can be done with xi.
I was just trying to visualise some of the real time business requirements where SAP XI is used.
For example
Some may have used Sap XI to transform data between file server and SAP system or may a web serve asking for details from sap system to display datas or some times sap xi systems sits betweem an integration server (like biztalk etc) and sap system.
Can anyone of you can give me some of the real time requirements you have dealt with over the years
in terms of business functionality and servers involved in the whole system?

How do I generate a compiled app with a user interface running real-time?

Hi everyone,
I've developed a simple application that uses a PXI chassis to run. It toggles some discretes and does some simple things, but it doesn't really have any "real-time" requirements. We're just using the PXI chassis because we have it and we need the discrete I/O.
My question is this - how can I convert this application to a compiled real-time app and yet maintain the front panel on the local PC. LabView appears to simply do this for me. I am connected to the real-time target via ethernet. When I compiled the program, it puts it in the target's startup directory, but how do I run the front panel from the local PC?

CompactRIO Real-Time Deployment Requirements

Hello, I have a few questions regarding the requirement of NI's Real-Time Deployment Option and a cRIO. I have multiple licenses of LabVIEW 2009, some with the Real-Time option and some without. That being said, I am wondering what functionality will be missing from the machines that do not have the Real-Time option installed on them. I borrowed a cRIO from someone and was able to read a voltage from the cRIO without having the Real-Time Deployment, so I am not sure what I am missing regarding functionality and not having Real-Time Deployment installed. Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I see three pieces of software potentially involved:
1) LabVIEW
2) LabVIEW Real-Time Module
3) LabVIEW FPGA Module
With just LabVIEW, you can deploy a prebuilt bitfile to the FPGA and communicate with that bitfile. You only need the NI-RIO driver. (In order to built bitfiles, you need the FPGA module.) However, without the Real-Time module you won't be able to communicate with the controller portion at all.
With LabVIEW and the Real-Time module, you can interact with the controller and multiple hardware cards. If you don't have the FPGA module (to build a bitfile), you can use the Scan Mode interface to the FPGA. With the Real-Time module, you can also deploy network shared variables to the controller itself. (Once they're deployed, they stay deployed until you specifically undeploy them or format the controller.)
An ideal setup perhaps for you would be to do the following:
On a computer with LabVIEW, the Real-Time module, and the FPGA module, create a startup executable (for the controller), create a bitfile (for the FPGA), and deploy network shared variables (to the controller) that can be read from LabVIEW on any other computer. Without knowing more about how your cRIO was configured beforehand, it's hard to tell how you got a valid voltage reading. It's possible that you used the process I outlined here.

Is Ardence RTX required when I use PCI-7831R with labview real-time module for RTX target

I am new in the labview real-time field. I want to use labview real-time module for RTX target on only one desktop. My card is PCI-78331R. Is Ardence RTX necessary? Why I cannot find my card in the MAX after I configured the RTX?

Hi Ziaozhongda,
You must have the RTX runtime engine installed before the LabVIEW Real-Time RTX module will install. Additionally, you should follow the instructions in the "Using the NI PCI-7831R with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module for RTX" section of Getting Started with the NI 7831R (page 8).
Please see Configuring Hardware for Use with RTX.

Updating a Real-time Infocube

Hi All,
In one of the requirements in BPS planning.
We are using the Exit function for validating the data.
In our function module we are fetching the data and two of the fields in the cube needs to be modified in the cube after completion of the validations.
I would like to know if there is any existing functionality or Function module in BPS planning for this for updating the Real-time Info cube.

How do i use multiple threads( very much real time), using JavaFX?

I'm creating an application, using JavaFX because one can create awesome GUI using JavaFX. I need to know how to create real time multiple threads using javafx.
JavaFX doesn't support creation of multiple threads, but i think there is another way of doing it. I need it work in real time as my application works with an hardware (wacom intous 3 tablet), and i need mutiple threads to get all the parameters from the stylus of the tablet simultaneously...
any code which will help me out or explaination on how to go about this is appreciated...

How can I display a .csv file as a real time waveform using labview

Hi folks.
As stated, Im looking to display a .CSV file (obtained via RS-232, example; 100,101,102,102,102,103...) as a waveform in real-time. What is the best way to approach this? Im thinking LabVIEW. I have version 7.1 but am not really experienced in using it. I'll give anything a go though. Also, I have Visual Studio 2005, so I was thinking VB???

How to save data in a 4D array and make partial plots in real time?

Hi, this is a little complex, so bear with me...
I have a test system that tests a number of parts at the same time. The
experiment I do consists of measuring a number of properties of the
parts at various temperatures and voltages. I want to save all the
measured data in a 4-dimensional array. The indices represent,
respectively, temperature, voltage, part, property.
The way the experiment is done, I first do a loop in temperature, then
in voltage, then switch the part. At this point, I measure all the
properties for that condition and part and want to add them as a 1D
array to the 4D array.
At the same time, I want to make a multiple plot (on an XY graph) of
one selected property and part (using two pull-down selectors near the
XY graph) vs. voltage. (The reason I need to use an XY graph and not a
waveform graph, which would be easier, is that I do not have
equidistant steps in voltage, although all the voltage values I step
through are the same for all cases). The multiple plots are the data
sets at different temperatures. I would like to draw connection lines
between the points as a guide to the eye.
I also want the plot to be updated in the innermost for loop in real
time as the data are measured. I have a VI working using nested loops
as described above and passing the 4D array through shift registers,
starting with an array of the right dimensions initialized by zeroes. I
know in advance how many times all the loops have to be executed, and I
use the ReplaceArraySubset function to add the measured properties each
time. I then use IndexArray with the part and property index terminals
wired to extract the 2D array containing the data I want to plot. After
some transformation to combine these data with an array of the voltage
values in the form required to pass to the XYGraph control, I get my
plot.
The problem is: During program execution, when only partial data is
available, all the zero elements in the array do not allow the graph to
autoscale properly, and the lines between the points make little sense
when they jump to zero.
Here is how I think the problem could be solved:
1. Start with an empty array and have the array grow gradually as the
elements are measured. I tried to implement this using Insert Into
Array. Unfortunately, this VI is not as flexible as the Replace Array
Subset, and does not allow me to add a 1D array to a 4D array. One
other option would be to use the Build Array, but I could not figure
out if this is usable in this case.
2. The second option would be to extract only the already measured data
points from the 4D array and pass them to the graph
3. Keep track of the min. and max. values (only when they are different
from zero) and manually reset the graph Y axis scale each time.
Option 3 is doable, but more work for me.....
Option 2: I first tried to use Array Subset, but this always returns an
array of the same dimensionality of the input array. It seems to be
very difficult, but maybe not impossible, to make this work by using
Index Array first followed by Array Subset. Option 3 seems easier.
Ideally, I would like option 1, but I cannot figure out how to achieve
this.

More than 1 ms MOMO digital IO 7358 in LabView Real-Time 8.5, error downloading EPOS dll file into RT

I have several problems here, I tried to google but still I could not solve the problem.
Here are my questions:
1. I tried to download an example program of EPOS which require to download a DLL file into the RT, but it failed, here's the error (I attached the picture) 01/02/2008 13:29:50.511 [error] LabVIEW:
Failed to load shared library EposCmd.dll:_VCS_GetProtocolStackName@16:C on RT target device.

I found a similar problem and it said by installing Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support into the LV-RT, and I did, but still failed. Any one can help me about this?
2. I posted a question also in lavag, I think this section is more appropriate. "I
am trying to use the digital IO of the motion controller of 7358, but then I realized the delay is more that 1 ms (I checked using the oscilloscope), I attached the code (MOMO = Must On Must Off). Is this real, I mean the hardware delay between on-off is as big as this? Anyone knows the solution for this?"
Note: I am using LV-RT 8.5, PXI-7358 Motion Controller, EPOS 70/10

Hello bono,
1. From what I have seen, this error is usually caused by one of two things. The first is the Shared Variable software components not being installed, which is covered in this Knowledgebase. The other is due to a corruption of the ni-rt.ini file on the Real-Time controller. You can follow the steps layed out in this Knowledgebase, which gives three possible remedies. You could also try reinstalling the software (firmware) or create a PXI Uninstall disk from Measurement & Automation Explorer by selecting Tools»Remote Systems»RT PXI Disk Utilities»Create PXI Uninstall Disk. Boot the PXI Controller from the PXI Uninstall Disk, which will erase the ni-rt.ini and ph_exec.exe on the target. However, you will need to reconfigure the controller after doing this.
2. Due to the nature of the digital I/O on motion controllers, it is not surprising that you are seeing around a 1ms delay. It deals with the fact that it must update the motion controller with the new value on each control loop. This Knowledgebase gives a little more clarification regarding the 7350 specs.

How to create a Real Time Interactive Business Intelligence Solution in SharePoint 2013

Hi Experts,
I was recently given the below requirements to architect/implement a business intelligence solution that deals with instant/real data modifications in data sources. After going through many articles, e-books, expert blogs, I am still unable to piece the
right information to design an effective solution to my problem. Also, client is ready to invest in the best
infrastructure in order to achieve all the below requirements but yet it seems like a sword of Damocles that hangs around my neck in every direction I go.
Requirements
1) Reports must be created against many-to-many table relationships and against multiple data sources(SP Lists, SQL Server Custom Databases, External Databases).
2) The Report and Dashboard pages should refresh/reflect with real time data immediately as and when changes are made to the data sources.
3) The Reports should be cross-browser compatible(must work in google chrome, safari, firefox and IE), cross-platform(MAC, Android, Linux, Windows) and cross-device compatible(Tabs, Laptops &
Mobiles).
4) Client is Branding/UI conscious and wants the reports to look animated and pixel perfect similar to what's possible to create today in Excel 2013.
5) The reports must be interactive, parameterized, slice able, must load fast and have the ability to drill down or expand.
6) Client wants to leverage the Web Content Management, Document Management, Workflow abilities & other features of SharePoint with key focus being on the reporting solution.
7) Client wants the reports to be scalable, durable, secure and other standard needs.
Is SharePoint 2013 Business Intelligence a good candidate? I see the below limitations with the Product to achieve all the above requirements.
a) Cannot use Power Pivot with Excel deployed to SharePoint as the minimum granularity of refresh schedule is Daily. This violates Requirement 1.
b) Excel Services, Performance Point or Power View works as in-memory representation mode. This violates Requirement 1 and 2.
b) SSRS does not render the reports as stated above in requirement 3 and 4. The report rendering on the page is very slow for sample data itself. This violates Requirement 6 and 7.
Has someone been able to achieve all of the above requirements using SharePoint 2013 platform or any other platform. Please let me know the best possible solution. If possible, redirect me to whitepapers, articles, material that will help me design a effective
