Gettting rid of the bookmarks section under url bar??

hey guys
i want to keep all my bookmarks, but only access them buy going to the bookmarks tab at the very top of the computer screen (in between history and window)
under the url and google bar and refresh button there is that whole bar with the quick clicks to your recent book marks...(its the bar with the little book button at the very left)
is there anyway to hide this? so under the url bar its the actual website...i know it wont make TOO much extra space on my window but its annoying, instead of clicking on one thing such as the back button, i accidently click on a bookmarked page thing every now and then.

Go to the View Menu>Hide Bookmarks Bar. If you want to remove the Tabs bar, disable Tabs by deselecting the various tab options in Safari Preferences>Tabs

Suggestion list under URL bar not showing history/bookmarks

Yes, the Location bar setting is set to "History and Bookmarks". Yes, I have tried safe mode without any success.
Are there any other troubleshooting methods? Only like 2-3 websites show up and they never change. Auto-complete seems to work just fine, and my history is being recorded correctly if I hit CTRL-H.

Very strange!
You might have some Extensions which could be affecting your Awesomebar. For example, the DuckDuckGo addon will replace your history and bookmarks with search results instead.
Could you please click the [[Image:New Fx Menu]] button, click addons, and once the Addon Manager has loaded, click Extensions? This will show you a full list of the extensions you've got installed - could you please let us know what they are?
If it's not an extension causing it, then it would be worth [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|resetting FIrefox]]. Resetting will give you a fresh start and should solve the problem. All your cookies, history, bookmarks and saved passwords will be kept.

Safari won't load/can't find url or url invalid

I'm having issues with Safari either unable to load a page, saying url is invalid or ? in boxes where pics are supposed to be. It's the worst for pages on Apple.com and Facebook. Below are the errors/warnings system log and I apologize but I'm not sure what any of this means other than it's an error. Also, I've put in a case with Apple Support unfortunately, my cell coverage at home ***** & every time Apple Support tries to reach me my phone drops the call. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I know it's a lot to read, sorry.

Quit Safari.
Check for Login Items: Open System Preferences/Accounts then select the Login Items tab. Delete any files or apps you have listed there.
And go to /Library/Startup Items. Move any files in the Startup Items folder to the Trash. Relaunch Safari to test.
Quit Safari. Open a Finder window select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder. Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash. Relaunch Safari.
From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset. Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Deselect: Enable plug ins Quit then relaunch Safari. If Safari loads web pages, follow the troubleshooting help here. Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit, relaunch Safari.
Try Safari in another user account. Same problem there, log back into your admin account, launch Disk Utility. Verify the startup disk. If it needs repairing, help here for Using Disk Utility to Verify and Repair Disks
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.

Link Webi Report to External URL using URL contained in Dim Object

I am trying to create a link in my WebI report to an external URL which is stored in a Dimension object.
The object is simply a string format which contains a link to a Lotus Notes database
Example:
Notes:///CA2573920000079B/0B4D8972EDD5DE7CCA257109000682B7/32250ACFEAF2B80FCA2573AB00831255
When I put the link into Internet Explorer I get the appropriate Lotus Notes databse, however, when trying the same in WebI using the following formula:
="<a href=[Notes url1] target='_blank'>Test</a>"
I get the following URL when clicking the link from InfoView
http://auyhoz04.an.orica.net:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/viewers/cdz_adv/[Notes%20url1]
If I hardcode the URL into WebI
="<a href='Notes:///CA2573920000079B/0B4D8972EDD5DE7CCA257109000682B7/32250ACFEAF2B80FCA2573AB00831255' target='_blank'>Test</a>"
It works without a problem.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple...is anyone able to help?

When you build a URL on the fly it requires a certain way to encapsulate everything. Here is another way for you to try it:
="<a href="+Char(34)+[Notes url1]+" target='_blank'>Test"+Char(34)+"</a>"
Plz note the use of Char(34) which generates a double-quote. This method should help you with getting a dynamic product delivered to your audience.

Get site collection url, site url and list url from a full uri?

If I have incoming: only URI's of the format http://a.b.c/d/e/f/g/h/i/j/k/l/m/n/o/p.docx
(And these are coming from multiple farms and multiple site collections) (and i have a web api on some remote server) (and have all the authentication details)
And I want to query just the single the item via csom : check one column and if value="yes" then download the doc:
a. how do i get the absolute site url out of it for " clientcontext ctx = new clientcontext(THISURL) "
b. how do i then get the list uri out of it to push a caml query to to then retrieve it
I could :
a. strip off the filename, that is the easy part :)
b. I could paste "/_api/contextinfo" behind it and POST it first as a httprequest. Then first get the site and web url and later on
find a way to find the list url (which is probably the first item behind the fullWebUrl), but it seems weird to mix this in the mix

Sorry, GetList is only available in the O365 version of Microsoft.SharePoint.Client. If you could test for a root site collection and if there is not one then take the scheme ... + Uri.segments[0] and then get the context. After that you can use
the GetFileByServerRelativeUrl. The following demonstrates this.

There are many differences in the newer version, but most noteworthy is the total lack of an ability to.copy information. One cannot.long click on a link and choose to copy said link. One cannot click on the URL bar and see the URl of the active page - rather, one is asked to input search terms. One cannot long click on a bit of text within a webpage and have the option to select and.copy that text.
My questions are thus:
1. How can one enable such features on the latest version of FFox Android (14.0)?
2. If this is not possible, where can one obtain earlier versions of the browser?

There is unfortunately no ability to get copy and paste into Firefox mobile, right now. However, this is something that is actively being worked on, and hopefully with be released in Firefox for mobile 15, in roughly 6-8 weeks.

We are making a url in a string and putting it in a form tag a lot like this

the url in the browser address box stops at the 1st ampersand in the url string

Me too, pass form elems and method is post. This situation I have to use method of get though, no control over situation. It's not an emergency anymore since the urls passed ok as links instead of buttons. Hope to have as buttons later. Thank you for answering and for advice.

I figured it out. To do this you'll need (I needed) to enter the list of PC's that the policy applies too. Not completely intuitive but makes sense now that I pulled my head out of my @ss. ;-) Thanks, Bill

I just update OSX v10.9.4 and safari got many issue. I do not mind safari using yahoo as default search engine. I have key in home.sina.com become www.home.sina.com in safari url path. I try in my pc laptop and everything work fined. I key in www.nanyang.com it become www.nanyang.com in yahoo search. I want to send issue to support and apple website is a mess

LockScreen.app using 3Gb real memory under Server 10.5.2

I'm using ARD to remotely administer a brand new XServe with 16 Gb system memory. I run long lived ARD sessions, typically using 'curtain' (screen lock) mode. I recently noticed that Activity Monitor claims that LockScreen.app is using more than 3 Gb of real memory. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a memory leak in LockScreen.app? Is there any way to avoid this?

Permissions Repair is still slow in 10.5.2, but faster than before and with no error messages. On my MBP 160Gb with >1mil files and only 12Gb of free space, it took approximately 4 minutes instead of the 10+ minutes it took just prior to the upgrade. It still hangs on 1 Minute but then gets on with it quite a bit faster after the initial hang. Still much slower than in Tiger 'though.
