Realistic recording expectations for upcoming session

I'm doing some band recording this weekend and want to get an idea of how many inputs and Logic softsynths I can be recording simultaneously.
I have an MOTU 828mkII. Our drummer will be bringing a Presonus DigiMAX that we'll be hooking to the MOTU via lightpipe, and I'll be plugging in my Yamaha DG Stomp via the S/PDIF in.
Odds are we'll be using the 2 mic ins on the MOTU, all 8 Presonus inputs, at least 4 of the line inputs, the S/PDIF in, and likely up to two Logic instruments and maybe a loop or two... all at once. (So, appx. 15 audio signals plus the synths.) We'll be recording at 24/48 (48 is the best the DigiMAX can do).
Given my system (a brand new dual G5 running 7.1), is this feasible?
My last system was a G4-upgraded B&W G3 which, naturally, mostly puked when we tried to record on this scale. I was assuming this would be cake for a dual G5, but I honestly don't know if I'm setting my expectations too high.
FYI, there is close to zero possibility that I will be able to make any changes to my setup before the weekend (e.g., adding RAM... maybe). Ergo, advice to drastically upgrade equipment will fall on deaf ears.

It should be able to handle it. Just test it thoroughly before the session. Knowing how to tune/troubleshoot your system is necessary if you're running a G5 or a 7600. For your tests start with just Audio-no Audio Instruments, introduce them later.

QM_LSMW BY RECORDING METHOD FOR QP01

Dear QM Experts,
1.     I am doing LSMW by recording method for QP01 transaction code
2.     I am facing one problem while recording in inspection characteristic screen
3.     While saving another screen opens prompting to put inspection method, plant and version for inspection method.
4.     This is not at all needed as per the requirement.
I removed default Plant for Inspection Method version, Version Number of the Inspection Method while recording LSMW in inspection characteristic screen. Still it is happening.
Surprisingly when we create inspection plan though QP01 it never asks for these things.
Any remedies?

Do not use Recording for QP01.
There is a pragram named "RCPTRA01". It can be selected in step1 of lsmw>>Object Type and Import Method>> Standard Batch/Direct Imput>>Object 0240;Method 0000;Program RCPTRA01; Program Type B.
Then Step 2, define source structure. In fact you may go to step 4 to have a look at the structure of the target structure. It would be easy to copy that. The source structure would be as below, ZBI001 would be the top level and the others the same lever under ZBI001:

In step 3, define source fields for source structure. For easy define, you may click "Object Overview">> Table to get the possible fields of the related structure, and then copy to Excel; after that, you may copy the fields directly from Excel to fields difining window in step 3.
Step 4, assign the source structures to target structures, the target structures are named the same as the source structures above, just without the letter "Z". For example, assign ZBIMPL to BIMPL, ZBIPKO to BIPKO, except ZBI001 is assigned to BI000 and BI001 as well.
Then Step 5, you may find there are RECTY and default settings are "00" "99" "01" "03" "09" "18" for BI000, BI001, BIMPL, BIPKO, BIPPO and BIPMK. Let alone "99" and imput these value to field "RECTY" in corresponding source structure fields
Then you may run auto field mapping in step 5, and make some values constant, like PLNTY=Q etc.
Then a problem with the profile under field "PROFIDNET". Run TCODE 'SPRO' to IMG>Quality Management>Quality Planning>Inspection Planning>General>Maintain Profiles for Default Values>Profile: default values plan/general. You may find there is a box named "Entry tool", tick that box, if not it is not possible to run QP01 in lsmw. And at the same time you may find the profile is 0000001. Key the value to field "PROFIDNET" and make the rule as constant.
For step 6 there is nothing to do
in Step 7, unlike other objects, you can use just one .txt file for uploading the inspection plan. When specy file, select "Data for Multiple Source Structures(Seq.file); Delimiter: Tabulator; File structure: Field order Matches source structure definition(as in Seq.file) I find not possible to put field names at start of file, so "Field Order Matching" is very important
Then how to prepare the file? We can accomplish this with 5 excel sheets

Creat a new blank sheet and copy the fild contents of these 5 sheets into it, then you can sort the fields in A to Z order with Column A(MATNR), B(RECTY), and C(MERKNR), then the seq.file to be uploaded is completed.

Actually this program is not possible for QP02. If you want to make some correction on the inspection plans in SAP, you'd better delete them and upload the revised one.
This program is very similar to CA01 Production Routing and thus also applicable to CA01. But I recommend using Object 0170;Method 0002;Program RCPTRA02; Program Type D for CA01, because it provides testing transfer at the end so that you can check out logical errors, and much fastee. Pity that for QP01 there is no such program

Recordable CDs for music

Hello all,
(If this is not the right place to post my question, please let me know.)
I have been making music CDs without any problem for quite a long time using Audacity, a digital audio editor to export mp3 or any other audio file format as AIFF files, which can be read on a CD player, and Toast 6 Titanium for burning to a CD.
For no apparent reasons, the last 6 CDs I've burned cannot be played on a CD player; either one player would eject the CD after a while or, a different player would show there is no disc in the tray.
My first reaction was to bring the iMac to Tekserve where a new optical drive had been installed last month to replace the original which was not working any longer. I explained the problem to the technician who said it may be due to the media I've used. It sounds strange that the problem lies with the media as I've using the same brand (TDK CD-R80) on all recordings I've made successfully up to this point in time.
The technician asked me to make a recording on a blank CD at the shop. I did it using the same burning software on my iMac. This recording was played on a CD deck without any problem.
Apparently, this proved there was nothing wrong with either the optical drive or the software, so I came back home with my iMac in the same condition as it was when I brought it for servicing.
I have Toast preferences set to leave open all CDs, so I tried recording a second session on the same CD used for recording at the shop. This second session recording was not playable on my CD deck nor on a different one.
I then took one of the blank CDs the technician gave me (memorex CD-R 700 MB) and made a new recording. This one played right on a CD deck. So, the problem seems to be the media used although quite many CDs of the same brand previously recorded are all playable on a CD deck.
I wonder whether:
1- recording music on a standard CD-R does not always render a CD playable on a CD deck; and
2- additional music sessions recorded on a previously recorded but open CD does not reproduce on a CD deck.

This is not a surprise. Not all reader devices support multiple sessions. I think the number is getting less over time. I'd advise against recording any audio cd with multiple sessions. The format on the cd for multiple sessions is different than the standard audio cd.

Logging for one session

I'm using java.util.Logging mechanism for logging in my web application. I always use logger via class name - e.g. Logger.getLogger(MyClass.class.getName()).log(....)Now, I wonder if there is a technique or best practice to show only log records for one user session.
For example.. I have a servlet that after receiving request creates one thread, which creates n-threads to get some data from different web services. Naturally there can be many concurrent users using this servlet. I would like to use logging mechanism to show log records only for particular user (session).
The only solution that came on my mind is to put sessionId into all threads names, create custom Logging handler that puts thread name as record parameter and then filter out records that contain parameter with chosen sessionId.
Is there a better solution?

One of the things getting logged is the session id.Do you mean the database session id or the Apex session? The database session id changes when a different session is used in the pool. The Apex session doesn't change until the user logs out.
So we set an application item to the value of the session id during authentication.You don't need to do this. The database session can be found in the user context using SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'SESSIONID'). The Apex session is available using V('SESSION'), it is also can be found in the user context, together with the Apex username using SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'CLIENT_IDENTIFIER'). So you can get the session ids from the context when you log information.

Oracle Trace File generation for a session

Hi,
I am using oracle 10g(10.2.0.5) in RHEL5 server. i have used the exec dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session(147,3,TRUE); statement to trace a particular session. i am able to trace successfully but i have created a new table in that session where i am not able to find any create table statement in the generated trace file but i can find the insert statements which i performed on the newly created table in the trace file.
Does DDL statements not recorded in the trace events???

How to set record history for a customized form?

i have created a customized form and register it onto apps. everything is working fine expect for the Record History part. while going to Help -> Record History for my customized form it showing error message -

How do I record sports for one specific team for the channels I subscribe?

For example, I want to record all the Golden State Warriors games that occur on HDTV or if not available on HDTV then record them on normal TV, without recording blank channels that I are not on my subscription or a lot of superfluous programs that use some of the key words but aren't the game itself. If I record a series for the key word search "Golden State Warriors" or "Golden State" or "Golden State NBA" I miss games, record some non-game programs, or record channels that are blacked out to me. I could do more selective searches with TiVo so that I just got the games I wanted, but I can't find enough granularity in the Comcast DVR system to record Warriors, Giants, or 49ers games. The closest I can come is to save these searches, and every few days sit down and manually scan through all the items the return and select the right ones! Even dong that, none of the searches turned up yesterday's Warriors game on 720 at &;30pm. So I assumed it wasn't televised. But I happened to look at channel 720 that evening - and the game was there! What's going on? The Comcast system seems to work fine for the simple task of recording a TV sitcom series such as Chuck or The Mentalist. But to record the games of my favorite sports teams requires a DVR system that can find the games on whatever channel they are on, and only record those channels which I subscribe to. Any suggestions on how best to record my favorite teams using the Comcast DVR?

So I was able to find my teams and set them up as favorites... but the recording options are very limited. For example I can only record all shows that this team is listed, once per day, or once per week. The problem with the once per day option is that it records the very first time the team shows up in a show title. So for example it records the pre-game show and not the game (this would be a baseball team). And the problem with once per week is the same thing. If there is a program that has a football team listed before Sunday arrives then it records that show and not the game! All I want to do is record all the games the first time they air! Is that so hard? Also, for some reason it won't let me set up a series recording for my teams nightly replay on COMCAST SPORTS NET! For crying out loud your sports channel does a nightly replay of my baseball team and it won't let me record it as a series. I even tried setting up a manual recording sessions but guess what... It does not have the option to do it every night. So I can only manually record one day then I have to set up another one each night. Which ends up being the same as not being able to record the series. Basically Comcast has not figured out a way for sports fans to record their favorite teams as a series. Instead you either record EVERY show that has that team in the title (which includes things like celebrity golf shootouts, pre-game shows, replays, discussions shows, etc...) or you have to hit the record button for every game (and for baseball that means doing it almost every day). So, is there some solution I am missing?

You can't do anything in the background of iOS. Apps are still one at a time (with a few exceptions like Music), and suspend when the app is closed. It's also against the App Store guidelines to sell apps that would allow such actions.
Though, maybe you could get your Voice Memos saved to MP3's, which can play in the background of other apps.

Server 2012 R2 - The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter

We seem to be having an issue recently after introducing new Windows Server 2012 R2 servers where they fail to register DNS correctly. The Windows Firewall is off and the servers are on the same VLAN with no firewalls between them.
When I do an ipconfig /registerdns or wait 24 hours for the system to try we get the following error:

The reason the system could not register these RRs was because the DNS server contacted refused the update request. The reasons for this might be (a) you are not allowed to update the specified DNS domain name, or (b) because the DNS server authoritative
for this name does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol.
To register the DNS host (A or AAAA) resource records using the specific DNS domain name and IP addresses for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator.
On our DNS server we have set for the internal.local zone Secure Updates only so that looks good because it is Active Directory that should be handling this authentication to update the record I assume. Just to mention that when also doing an ipconfig /regsiterdns
the update fails within a few seconds.

This issue is only affecting Windows Server 2012 R2 clients and testing with Windows Server 2008 R2 clients works no issues. So is this a mis-configuration or a bug with Windows 2012 R2? I have checked all DNS settings on client / server which all look good

How do I keep a page as my home page when dragging icon to left of URL to house image & confirming that I want it as home page works only for current session, so when Firefox next opened, I end up with some stupid search page which McAfee doesn't like?

A couple of days ago, I connected to the Internet as usual & opened Firefox, only to be greeted by an almost blank screen with a Google-type search box in the middle & this message from McAfee:
"Your default search settings have changed. This may pose a security risk. Would you like to restore them to McAfee Secure Search to provide a safer searching experience?"
instead of my usual home page (BT Yahoo). I naturally clicked on the "Yes" option in the message, but rather than restoring my BT Yahoo home page, all that did was to insert the McAfee logo to the left of the search box in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The first time it happened, I had to search for the BT Yahoo page & then followed the standard procedure for setting it again as my home page. It worked only for that session: each time I shut down Firefox or restarted my computer after that, all I got was the blank "search page" & restoring the previous session was the only way to get back to BY Yahoo. How on earth do I make the home page setting permanent?
As far as I'm aware, I have done nothing to alter my search settings. However, I am anything but computer-literate, so I may have done/pressed something without realising it, but trying to understand what is now happening is far beyond my limited IT skills.

Example - I have a report based on the procedure ,when the user execute that it takes say 3 min. to return rows.
Is there any possible way to capture this session info. for this particular execution of query along with it's execution elapse time?

You can use the dbms_utility.get_time tool (gives binary_integer type value).
1/ Initialize you time and date of beginning :
v_beginTime := dbms_utility.get_time ;
2/ Run you procedure...
3/ Get end-time with :
v_endTime := dbms_utility.get_time ;
4/ Thus, calculate elapsed time by difference :
v_elapsTime := v_endTime - v_beginTime ;
This will give you time elapsed in of 100th of seconds...
Then you can format you result to give correct print time.

Based my research, OOB SharePoint don’t allow anonymous users to contribute contents(Edit, Upload and Add) into list and library.
This is by design behavior, and it’s a consideration about security in order to help protect your site from potential script injection attacks.
For anonymous users, only the View Item permission is available for libraries.

Are you meaning to create sites on SharePoint Online by invoking web services in your own program? SharePoint Online indeed provide some web services for custom programming, however, the web methods for creating a new site seems not included in them. Here

As to create a site collection, the parameter "Template" is the name of the template you want to use, as to find the name of the custom site template, you can use the powershell command "Get-SPOWebTemplate",
it will list all the templates with the names.
Note, The Template and LocaleId parameters must be a valid combination as returned from the Get-SPOWebTemplate cmdlet.
