Really annoying issue with templates

I just bought and installed FCPX. No templates are showing up in the titles, generators and theme browsers.
Just some effects show up in the effects browser. All templates exist if looking inside the Final Cut Pro.app file.
Anyone got any idea?

Just a few thoughts:
1) Quit FCP X and Trash preferences (this is usually the first thing to try when FCP X misbehaves) - download the free Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion to do this easily
2) Restore default layout. Go to Window->Revert to Original Layout
3) Trash the layouts folder (inside ~/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro) - to access the (hidden) Library folder in your home folder, hold down the option key when using the Go menu in the Finder.
4) Trash the application and download it again from the Mac App Store.

Really really annoying problem with slooooow Adress Book

I have a really, really annoying problem with Address Book.
Ever since I connected it with the MobileMe service it has this problem, and I just cant get rid of it. I have tried logging out and back into the MobileMe service, resetting the sync history etc., but to no avail.
Each time I open the application it freezes for about 5 to 10 seconts, then that blooming annoying, Windows reminiscent, rotating rainbow circle appears for about a minute at a time. Then it goes away and the application works..........that is until try something demanding like adding a new group or changing a group name, then it starts over. It is making the Address Book almost unusable and very un-Mac-like.
Can someone please help???

Try deleting this plist:
(yourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
As well, the general approach at this time is to ask if you've checked for any problematic fonts (all languages) with Apple's Font Book (look in the Applications folder). Find and remove all duplicates also.
Start there to be sure all fonts that are in play come out with a clean bill of health.
Also, don't hesisate to perform wholesale deletion of old and/or little used fonts - be skeptical of anything that has come from Office 2008, including those related to an Equation Editor installation.
By all means be sure your 3rd party apps are Snow Leopard compatibl

Issue with Template Builder

Hello All,
I am having issue with template builder after loading the XML data when trying to insert a field I am getting the following error
Run-Time error '6';
Over flow
Where as my collegue is not getting the error. The differnce what I observe is In menu options
for me it is showing as
tempalte builder-->Insert-->Table/form
where as for him it is showing as
tempalte builder-->Insert-->Table/form ->Wizard (some thing like this)
Is this the version differnce? please let me know

Annoying issue with Logger

When I tell my FileHandler to append to an existing XML log file, it adds the follow two lines to the log file every time:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE log SYSTEM "logger.dtd">
This means that, if I have had hundreds of iterations of my loop, i get hundreds of XML headers in my log file, which seems asinine (not to mention the fact that a new LOG tag is created every time too). Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

I'm sure you'll just take issue with my response as well, based on a topic from the other day...
but I'd have to say it sounds like you're using loggers for the wrong reason, if you think you need to append to an existing XML-based one. Maybe you should be logging to a flat text-based one instead, or shouldn't be integrating with (and dependent on) logger output to the degree that you are. There's probably a different design approach needed, but of course I'm not all that involved in your project. Just trying to point out that you may need to revisit the design instead of sticking with it the way you are.

Some annoying issue with my Z97 Gaming 7

First issues.
-SSD is detected, but doesn't show folder even though it shows there is data on the drive. I have to reboot and then go into the bios. I don't do anything in my bios I just need to get there and save and close. Then it will work until my system goes into sleep mode. Sometimes after coming out of sleep mode folder are gone again and other times are just random. --- Tested drive on my other system works fine.
- My front USB stop working. The items I have plug into the front USB are not be detect at all. Test components on my other computer all is working well.
and now my SSD isn't be detected.
This is a fresh install of Windows.
This is my last MSI product that I will purchase. I haven't had so many issue from a Manufacture. I have to run my Graphics cards at full power so I don't get flickering or others issues. Now the issues with my motherboard.

Swift keyboard; annoying issue with Facebook

Hello all,
I'm not sure if this is something for the forum so apologise in advance if this is the case.
My only main gripe with the Swift keyboard is when it's on and you enter someone's name to tag for someone reason when you hit enter it removes the tag, you have to turn back to the normal keyboard to avoid this.
It's very annoying - can anyone help at all ?

The remote PC selects the system language of the device running the remote desktop client and not the keyboard language. When switching the keyboard language on your device, you need to manually switch the keyboard language on the remote PC.
Open settings on your device.
Tap General and then tap International.
Tap Language and select the language running on the remote PC.
Open the RD Client and connect to the remote PC and check if the Windows keyboard language matches the language that you selected.

Header & Footer issues with Template Builder 5.6 ???

Is anyone else having problems with headers and footers in Template Builder version 5.6? I am able to add headers and footers, but they don't display in the preview in Word and they also only display on odd pages when ran thru the concurrent request manager (I checked my Word page setup settings and I don't have the deifferent odd/even pages selected.) I am able to resolve my problem by installing v 5.5 on another machine and saving it in that version.

We use headers and footers in every template. This worked in both 4.5 and 5.6.2.

Annoying issue with "special characters"

I need to produce these special characters:
¤
and
ø
Now ofcourse I can copy and paste to get them, but after writing them to a file, they don't produce the same character, if that doesn't make sense I'll try to clear it up. I run a windows game through wine, and in the configuration file I need to use special characters in my name, they look fine in the editor, after I write the file, then go in game, the characters are completely different. Which is quite annoying. Is there anyway I can get these to truely be the character I want on linux?

more info, I wrote the file with vim, I then opened it with nano to see exactly what I saw in game. Is this an output problem of vim?

Annoying issue with LV7

I found out I can not input the character # (ASCII code 35) with LV 7:
- on a string control the character is simply not typed
- on the diagram typing # seems to be a shortcut for enabling the grid alignment.
I'm using an italian keyboard.
This issue occurs only with LV7.

Hi Alberto,
A friend of mine was telling me that he had problems with control charaters and LV7. I tried his code and it was fine on my machine. He found a workaround and we never found the source of the mystery.
As for myself, I now see a strange behavior with LV7.
It closes itself while I wire-up a new vi... >(
It happened twice yesterday... -strange-

Having issues with templates in pages,

I downloaded an avery template to make mailing labels - I needed all 30 labels to be the same- but when i went to copy and paste the rest of them the document started jumping all over the place halfway through and created extra pages that I then couldn't get rid of- HELP!

I am on OS X 10.9 the most ubdated version of pages I would assume. I haven't had a mac for a while and I am getting back into the differences between a mac and a windows computer. But I remember using pages before and not having this issue.

Dreamweaver CS6 file update issue with template

I am working my way through Adobe's Dreamweaver CS6 Classroom in a Book on an iMac computer. I'm in Chapter 9 and have placed some button links in a webpage within the template. But when I go to update the about_us.html file from the template, the update indicates that it will only update files from Chapters 6 & 7. Thus I cannot update the Chapter 9 about_us file (or any other files in Chapter 9 I'm presuming). What can I do? I do not know how I can manually update the link html statements in the about_us file because they are greyed out (inactive, due to button region locking that was done in Chapter 7. I'm really stumped and blocked from continuing, so I sure could use some help. Thank you in advance!

It's hard to say what you could have missed, if Templates aren't done just right, things can go wrong fast.
I would go back to chapter 7 (the last point things seem to work correctly) and redo everything up to chapter 9 to make sure I didn't accidentally skip any steps. Pay particular attention to any step pertaining to creating new pages from templates or applying a template to an already existing page.

Issue with template Dreamweaver...

I did create the template with dreamweaver and then I create the page of my website but when I change something in the template and I save I get this error...
and what happens is that in my code appear this characters > or >>>>>> and I haven't idea what is the reason of this

Issues with templates?

Hey folks,
Im working on a school project that I need to turn in tomorrow and I am trying to get a borcure I made in iWork Pages to print. I am using the "Classic Brocure" template.
The issue is that the top and right sides of the page dont print. It's just about a quarter of an inch or so, and I would move the printing area in except when I change the printing area it just moves the text... not the actual document.
How can I fix this? Is there any way?

Hi Dennis, I have come across your sage advice a few times now, and wondered if you can help me solve the problem I have about printing a brochure that I have modified from the Three Panel Brochure template that Pages offers....
When I try to print, it flips the pages so they print upside down from eachother. I can only find duplex printing as a setup option, there is nothing that says "brochure" printing.
I have just picked up a new canon mp530 printer/scan/fax, thinking the new software would help in configurations, but it prints the same as my old pixma4000....
can you, or anyone PLEASE advise?

Funky and annoying issues with my ipods harddrive, can anyone help please?

this is the first time ive been to an ipod support forum, ive tried everything and this is the last resort please help!
ive got a 4thgeneration ipod (non-color) and this is my 4th one, after a random period of time (between 4 weeks to 2 months) they all break. The hard drive starts making crazy sounds, randomly the unhappy face appears and eventually you lose everything, im not having a great experience with this product and apple refuse to refund saying theyll just replace it with another one (3 ipods later its still not working)
It hasn't been abused, i've treat this one like it's worth its weight in gold and its barely been moved since i've gotten it (mostly been using it for temporarily storing files). I unmount it (safely eject/remove hardware) before unplugging it and do everything by the book.
This time it's gone beyond what normally goes wrong..
As a last resort i tried restoring the ipod to factory settings, something must have gone wrong during this process because now the ipod is convinced that it is just a 400meg drive, is there anything i can do to restore it to its full 40gb?
formatting just gives the option to format it to 400meg, fdisk wont work because its a USB disk, same thing with partition magic.
any ideas?
im desperate lol! also, if not, what are the chances of convincing apple to refund me so I can get an iRiver?
having said that, my friend has the exact same model and has had it about 7 months without any problems, maybe im just unlucky!
id prefer to repair it rather than send it off again for another refurbished model, any ideas?

not sure what you mean sorry!, I used the ipod updater tool to restore it to factory settings.
Apologize for that one, I somehow assumed you tried to reset it with holding "menu" and the center button or via "settings->reset to factory setting" in the iPods menu.
i've tried formatting it with windows but it only allows me to format it to the drives 'maximum capacity' of 400megs, fdisk for linux tells me the maximum partition size can be 400megs also
Well, that might be the thing you shouldn't have done. The iPod must be formatted with the Updater! Other programs (like Windows Explorer and Partition Magic) mess up the iPods firmware.
As the "400MB" appeared after the Updater treatment, the drive surely is messed up. Try the latest Updater once again. If this doesn't work out, you could run chkdsk and use the Updater afterwards.
If there's still no avail, you would have to send it in one more time.

Issue with templates and updating .html pages in my website

I have taken over updating a website for the charity I work for. I have updated some eleements of the .dwt template page, however it does not seem to be updating the other .html pages for the website. I do not get the update pages box just a box saying 'You placed the editable region "breadcrumbs" inside a block tag. Users of this template will not be able to create new blocks in this region. Move the region outside the block tag if you want users to be able to do this" - I click OK and it saves the .dwt page, but does not update any other .html pages.
