Really disappointed that Adobe have removed the single app month-to-month plan
I have a client who have (Illustrator) design files that I update for them sporadically and unpredictably. I don't want to get the $600/yr plan because I may only have to update them once or twice in the coming year. But if I go for the $75/mo plan I/we may end up paying up to $900 if they need changes done more often then I expect.
The $30/mo plan was perfect for my situation. I am really disappointed that it is gone. I can understand if they wanted to up the price a bit, but going from $30 to $75 is a substantial jump.

I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015). -
I wanna ask about my iMessages, because everytime that I am using my apple ID it is always saying that my username and password was incorrect.But I am really sure that I have input the correct username as well as my password.How can I resolve this problem?
You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
My problem started after installing "smartsync app" which is supposed to sync my phone with the profilepage photos of my friends in facebook. All my apps crashed after using them for awhile.While using my apps, they will black out after a little while and the phone returns to the starting page. I have removed the smartsync app but my phone still behaves the same way. At the same time the dates that accompany my messages changed to another language. How can these be rectified?
Eek. Sounds like something in the app caused some serious software issues. You can try a hard reset, but I'd imagine you're probably going to have to do an iTunes restore to get it running right again.

I received an estimate of my next bill that was double what it should be after I removed one of my devices. When I called about transferring the device (a tablet) to my grandson and transferring responsibility for it to his mother, I was told by Verizon that my bill would be $10 plus taxes less and that we could accomplish the transfer by phone to Verizon. We did that while they were visiting me yesterday. She received a confirmation email of the changes to her account o.k. which agreed with her new plan. I received a confirmation that my next bill was going to be $140 - about double what it should be. I was told on my initial inquiry that there would not even be an activation charge since she was also a Verizon customer. What gives? I hope that e-mail was incorrect. If not, I cannot afford that and will take my business to another provider. Why is it impossible to talk to a real live person when weird. things like this happen?
First off all chill. Second what is your bill before all these changes and what do you think your bill should be and what does the e-mail say EXACTLY? No one can help if all you do is rant and provide ZERO information. Just wait for the bill THEN rant if it's wrong

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
Step 3

Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
You can then quit Terminal. -

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.

I have removed the old Java Updates (17/19/21) from my Program and Features list(Win7). They still appear in the Tools>Add-ons>Extensions list. How do I remove them?
In both SAFE and Regular browser windows, the UNINSTALL button is grayed out.
I have tried in SAFE MODE, as well as the Help>troubleshooting Information>Application Basics>Profile Directory>Open Containing Folder,,,(looked, nothing there),,,,in both SAFE and Regular browser windows.You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

Why remove the single most used item, the addons bar?
Why does their v29 change log says "added options", when the only thing most of us see are removed options, including the single most used section: the addon bar? I do not want to install an addon to see the addon bar that has been present since pre-Firefox Mozilla days. So why remove the single most used item? Did the previous pro-life CEO like it too much and the new management cannot have that?? Seems like Firefox is going backwards, not forwards.
With 20 years in tech support and working on thousands of user end computers, the number 1 area used by people both in offices and in their personal computers was the add on bar. Considering the sheer number of addons that make use of it (just a preliminary dig through the addons earlier today), I would say in excess of 75% of legitimate addons make use of it. By removing it, it essentially nullifies hundreds of thousands of man hours put into programming all those addons.
Why require an addon just to be able to make use of other addons? Sounds like a VERY flawed study to me, or there was no study and it's just Mozilla big wigs deciding to change what they want, spitting in the face of the open source/common community licensing. -
Where can I buy a larger hard drive for my late 2008, 15" macbook pro? From reviewing questions and answers on the support community it would appear that having Apple remove the old and install the new hard drive is recommended. But how/where?

You can install the new hard disk yourself if you want to. You just need a 2'5" SATA II hard drive, which is compatible with your MacBook Pro. You can buy one at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/ You can filter hard drives by computer, so press a "Click to view all...", choose your computer in the sidebar and it will give you the compatible hard drives.
There are different brands for the MacBook Pro. The most recommended are HGST and Seagate, which have good reputation. A 7200 rpm hard drive will give you extra performance -

You can turn iMessage off on your iPhone. That's relatively easy. Since iMessage is an Apple product/service, I have no idea how a Samsung phone will deal with an incoming one. For that answer you should probably contact Samsung support.

How do i remove the Tips app and the Health app that apple added to my iphone on the last update? Update 8.0.2? I didn't want these added to my phone. I have to remove apps every time there is an update. After the phone is updated I reinstall the apps I removed. After 8.0,2 there was not enough room for me to reinstall my apps because they added the Tips app and the health app. How do I remove them? When you hold your figure on the apps they added, X's pop up on all of the apps i've installed, but not on the ones that come on the iPhone and the ones that they added on this last update. Oh, knock off the fearmongering. None of those apps are spyware. Health stores all of its data on the phone. It will only back it up to your computer if you do an encrypted back up. The only data it collects on its own are steps, stairs and distance traveled. Anything else in it is information you've explicity authorized it to collect from anothr app you've installed. You're not required to put anything in Passbook, Podcasts, iBooks or Newstand.
