I lost a really important file (an iText Express document) randomly and then one day, a "recovered file" folder popped up and I assume it has to do with that, but the file just contains a doc with a bunch of coding. What do I do with that? HELP!!!

As the title question states, I lost a really important file with iText Express. I've been using iText Express for a year or two now because it's just the one application I downloaded for writing and saving documents. I was working on one for a few months and randomly one day last month, when I went to open it to resume editing my work, the file was gone! I searched my whole laptop and trash. Then one day, a "Recovered Files" folder popped up in the area my file used to be, so I assumed that was the file I lost being recovered and I felt relieved. But when I opened the folder, the document inside was a "SoftwareMap" document with a bunch of coding written in it. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with that or how it's going to help me recover my file?!? I lost SO much work!!! If anyone has ANY idea what to do, how this happened, or if the coding is supposed to help me recover my file, PLEASE help!!!

No, I already tried looking at that. The file that recovered was not in the trash, it appeared in my documents folder. I opened it up and inside was an iText Express document with coding. Then inside of there, was and then and this "SoftwareMap" document contained a bunch of coding and symbols and words.

I think you should call via phone or perhaps take it to a phone store. I suggest taking your id, box packaging and other necessities such as the reciept of the phone being purchased.

There is no download for 10.4.x or 10.5.x, there is a very slim chance you can get 10.5 by calling Apple, but usually you can only get it on eBay & such.

ok, long story short:
i plugged my ipod into my comp.
it beeped(never done that b4)
it said it was, like, unreadable(i just clicked sync as mentioned below)
i synced it
not all my music went onto it(im not sure, but: it said that thing where there are ((some number)) of total problems, and, like, it cant sync them cuz it doesnt kno where the file is or somethin, but, my library says it has like, 872 songs, but my ipod says it has like, 769, so im not sure
there are only 83 songs that dont have the little exclamation point
(((((Oh, by the way, i kno that u can like, double-click them to choos the file, but, i cant, cuz, b4, i had to get my music from my ipod to the comp and i manually moved the music folder, so, in that folder, all there are are names like: YVVO, APRH, and stuff like that, so, i dont kno whats what, and i also dont kno how to get my music back, so, plz help me!)))))

Really Tricky problem ! Plz Help !!!

In my application, i'm checking for the existence of particular id in the database. Where i'm checking it further for the existence of particular Project Against it(Each Record had 6 values of Project Id's linked to it.) The query i'm throwing is:-

But the problem is..how to catch the particular pid..like whether it's pid1/pid/pid3....or so....since i've to display only that pid whose value is equal to s2.

Are you trying to determine the pid value that s2 equals or are you trying to determine the particular pid column that equals s2?
If you want the pid value, then brumalis had it right. Namely just display s2, otherwise if you want the pid column e.g whether it was pid1, pid2 etc, then the best method that is generic is to use the union query approach, and place a static field in each query select statement e.g
strsql = "SELECT *, 'pid1' FROM empdaily WHERE ";
strsql = strsql + "eid=" + s1 + " And date=" + d1;
strsql = strsql + " And pid1=" + s2
strsql = strsql + "UNION SELECT *, 'pid2' FROM empdaily WHERE ";
strsql = strsql + "eid=" + s1 + " And date=" + d1;
strsql = strsql + " And pid2=" + s2
strsql = .......................... and so on until pid6
Obviously you'd change 'pid1' etc to something you require, such as a simple column index or something.
Either way I agree there must be a better data structure than what you are using, like a child table with a pid and pidtype or something similar. And as for not wanting to change.... well odds are it'll come back to bite one day ;)

okay so i bought the new ipod video 30 gig, like a few days ago. i just bought two episodes of Lost from season 2, the first two episodes of the season. they play fine on my computer on itunes, they wont play on my ipod. this is what happens: i click on the episode, it pauses for 3 seconds and than a blue/purple screen comes up for like 6 seconds and than it goes back tothe menu with the two episodes.
i also bought the new CD from Anti-Flag today as well from itunes, they play fine on itunes but on my ipod it skips from song to next song without playing it but when i plug it in my computer it says it played X number of times.
plz help me.

Try this...
Part 1:
1. Navigate to \iPod_Control\iTunes on the iPod in Windows Explorer. You may have to turn on Show Hidden Files and folders. To do this, go to Tools-->Folder Options, click the view tab, click the bubble to show hidden files and folders, click Apply, and click OK. Look for the presence there of a file named iEKInfo. Is it there? If so, make a copy of this onto your computer somewhere. While there, make a copy of iTunesDB also. Don't delete these copies.
2. Create a new, administrator user in Windows . (Start-->control panel-->user accounts-->create a new account)
3. Log out of the current user.
4. Log into the new user.
5. Restore the iPod as documented in this article:

6. Open iTunes.
7. Set the Music sync preference in iTunes for the iPod to Manual mode.
8. Download the free single of the week from the iTunes Music Store.

12. Disconnect the iPod from the computer.
Does the song play?
If the iPod is able to play this song, follow these steps:
Part 2:
1. Log out of the new user.
2. Log back into the original (affected) user.
3. Reconnect the iPod to the computer.
4. Drag some of the older purchased content (that would not play before) to the iPod.
5. Eject the iPod from iTunes.
6. Disconnect the iPod from the computer.
Does the affected content play?
Is the iPod still having the same issue? Try these possible solutions:
Part 3:
* Delete the SC Info.sidb file as documented in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302386.
* If the issue persists, recreate the iTunes Music Library as described in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93313.
Does the music play?

I don't want to sound too harsh, but you really need to read the manual and do the tutorials.
You shoot, capture and edit in FCP. You export that to MPEG2 using compressor and you import the resulting video and audio files into DVDSP. You add a menu and set up buttons to get to the footage, and you set up navigation so that your client can get back to the menu at any time. You build and format that (i.e. burn the disc).
That's the process, but it is very much more detailed than any of us could write here.... it's all in the manual and tutorials

HELLO all,
i noted a strange thing, when i insert into access table the date it swaps the month and day part for some reason in some records .
why is this happening,
plz. help.
code is as follows

As far as I know, the way dates (and times) are stored in a Micro$oft Access database has nothing to do with the display format. The format is only used for displaying the date that is stored in the Access table.
A "field" with "Date/Time" datatype in an Access table maps to the "java.sql.Timestamp" class. Therefore, in order to insert a value into a "Date/Time" (Access) "field", you need to create a "java.sql.Timestamp" object. According to the javadoc, the "java.sql.Timestamp" constructor takes a parameter of type "long" (i.e. java primitive type) -- which represents the number of milliseconds since midnight, 1st January, 1970.
Therefore, you don't really need to use "Calendar" or "SimpleDateFormat".
As I understand it, you are trying to insert yesterday's date into your table. Below is an example using a sample table that has two fields -- 'name' and 'updated' -- which (hopefully) will help you. Note how I determine yesterday's date -- using millisecond calculations only.
The below code was compiled and tested on Windows XP with J2SE SDK 1.4.1_02 and Micro$oft Access 2002.
