Really low bounced volumes on mp3's

Hey again,
This has troubled me for a long time now, and to this day have never found an answer. I really get the feeling is a proper noob fail.
EVERY time I bounce a track from logic, be it to mp3 or wav/aiff, it's always considerably quieter than every other song in my iTunes library.
Is something to do with the normalize function? :s

Commercial recordings have been "mastered," which generally means heavy compression and limiting. Using the normalize function may increase the volume of your mixes, but probably not enough to sound like commercial CDs. Do some searches to learn about compressors and limiters and how they're used during the mastering stage--that should get you started.
Or, better yet, send your mixes to a professional mastering facility and be prepared to be amazed...

  • Low Speaker Volume

My Blackberry 8820 started having a really low speaker volume today. I have the volume bar cranked all the way up, and I can barely hear the person on the other end.  I've had it for a few weeks and the volume has been fine before today, so I have no idea why it's started doing this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Kato,
Sorry to hear about the low volume, that can be frustrating!  I would start by removing the battery, reinserting and powering back on.   See if your profile volume is set to high by selecting Profiles -> Advanced-> (active profile)-> phone ->Volume (set to high) ...if all else fails a master reset (Options, Security Options, General Settings, (press menu key) select wipe handheld will be last resort ( Dont forget to BACKUP!)
If these options don't resolve, I would recommend calling your service provider for replacement options....
    Good luck!

  • Really low volume on headphones with iPad mini iOS 8.2

    Hello,
Problem is with an iPad mini running iOS 8.2. When I connect any headphone/earbud to my iPad mini I can't hear a thing. Actually the sound is not totally muted but really really really low, almost imperceptible. The headphones are fine -tried them on mac/pc/iPhone-.  I've tried with different headphones (at least 5 different sets), tried adjusting the volume max-low-max (I can see volume bar on screen showing headphones), plugging unplugging the headphones -also plugging them very hard-, restarting the iPad by turning it off pressing and holding lock button and then sliding to power off, rebooting it holding lock and home button together. None of these have solved the problem. iPad speakers are fine. This issue happens with every app with sound: Videos, Music, YouTube, FaceTime, etc. I recently upgraded the software to iOS version 8.2. I'm sure this worked in the past.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Laura.

Unless you've accidentally set a volume limit within music settings, there's probably a problem with your headphone jack. You should also try a complete restore of your iPad just incase. Otherwise, since you've tried everything else, it sounds like its a hardware problem

  • My volume is really low even when turned all the way up.  Is there a fix?

I got this ipod for fathers day and just started messing with it this weekend.  The volume is really low.  I downloaded my music and have tried several songs plusdifferent earphones and the radio on the ipod.  I can hear it but it is to low to run with.  I think ill here myself panting over it.  Is there a fix or does apple support the problem?

    Hello dreuer
Try out some of the troubleshooting steps in the article below, it will go into checking Bluetooth connections as well as restarting your iPhone.

  • Really need some help with this low earpiece volume issue.

I'm taking my iPhone to an Apple Store Genius tomorrow to check out the low volume in the earpiece. Has anyone else taken their phone in to an Apple Store and had the issue addressed? Are Geniuses just saying it is within spec? Has Apple published an article on this?
I realize that people are also frustrated over the low speakerphone volume, but the low volume in the earpiece is particularly concerning.
While traveling down the road it is very difficult to hear the person on the other end of the phone when using just the earpiece (no earbuds, no BT headset). The volume while using the earbuds is plenty loud.
Can anyone please shed some new light on this? I have had my iPhone for one week and I've got a bad feeling in my gut that this is a hardware issue and the earpiece speaker can't go any louder. Bummer.
(Obviously, all of my volume settings are maxed out).
    -Joe

When the iPhones were first released, some people reported on their posts that they were able to take them to the Genius Bar, have a tech test it out, the tech would agree that the volume sounded low, and get their phone swapped right away. Unfortunately, there is no cut and dry answer because people have reported all sorts of different things- that the various software updates have fixed their volume, messing with the volume setting within iTunes, etc.
Personally, I think it is a software glitch. Why? I did this: I was playing the iPod without the earbuds and the volume was only set midrange. I covered the speaker on the bottom, cranked up the volume, and the sound coming out of the receiver was MUCH louder than it ever is when I am using the iPhone on a call. That to me indicates that the low volume it just a glitch that can be fixed, because it CAN obviously sound louder, just within a different function. Hope that makes sense.
    Good luck tomorrow.

  • Hi! I have an iPhone 4s and when I FaceTime the sound is really low. When I phone call someone, its totally different and works better. I also have a MacBok Pro and the FaceTime sound works perfectly there as well. Can someone pls help me? Thanks :)

Hi! I have an iPhone 4s and when I FaceTime the sound is really low. It´s really annoying. When I do phone calls it works, and on my MacBook Pro it works much better on FaceTime than on my phone. Can someone pls help to so solute this? Really need help! Thanks

This sounds like something similar to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3388112?start=105&tstart=0.
Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume)  or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call.

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen sound really low when playing movies/tv shows from video app

I just bought a ipod touch 5th generation for my daughter so she can watch her movies and tv shows that i purchased on itunes. On my iPhone 5S, I have no problems with the sound... Loud and clear. However with my new ipod touch, those same movies/tv shoes have really low volume. The sound while using Apps, Games and playing music are all fine. While playing from the video app, headphones are ok too... My problem is the sound from the speaker. I don't understand why all the other functions on the ipod that use sound is OK.
I have already reset my ipod and reset all the settings too... still didnt work. Please help! Thanks

The speaker is not that good but maybe yours is defective if you have the volume fully raised.
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted and have a poor contact.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R" or "R".
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem.

  • Audio via headphone jack is really low

The sound from internal speakers is fine, but audio via the headphone jack is really low.

    Hi Krich918,
Your computer can tell when you have something plugged into the headphone port, and it remembers a separate volume profile for each (internal speakers vs. headphones). You may want to double check that the volume is up on the Sound preference pane in System Preferences when you have your headphones plugged in, as outlined in the following article (apologies if you have already done so):
    Mac Basics: Set your preferences

  • I've recently spilt a little bit of water on my Macbook Pro 13" and some of it went into the keyboard, the first thing I did was get paper towels and dry it off, everything is except now the speakers sound different, and a little bit lower in volume

I've recently spilt a little bit of water on my Macbook Pro 13" and some of it went into the keyboard, the first thing I did was get paper towels and dry it off, everything is except now the speakers sound different, and a little bit lower in volume, basically the speakers just sound weird, there's no word to describe it, I can't really hear any bass from my speakers

Liquid spills, why your MacBook chassis is a one-way valve for spills
After a substantial spill many people will turn their notebook upside down and shake it, not only does this not work, but it spreads liquid havoc throughout your machine and makes things often as bad as possible.
The keyboard itself acts like a one way valve in the case of a substantial liquid spill. While liquid pours into the bottom chassis easy, it does not come out easily at all, and in the case of any spill, most of it will not come out by turning it upside down. Disconnect all power and contact Apple for diagnostics and repair.
Do not attempt to, after a spill, ‘dry out your MacBook’ and test it
After a spill most people invariably try to “dry out” their notebook by various methods, including hair dryers and otherwise. This both does not work, and after a substantial spill of any magnitude, even if the liquid was water, residue is left behind.
There are additionally many very tight places inside your notebook where liquids will linger for a very long time, and cause corrosion or worse.
Immediately unplug your notebook and contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and parts replacement.
In the case of very minor spills people will “dry out” their notebook and feel success that their notebook is working ok, however invariably in nearly all instances after 4-14 days an error / fault pops up and is usually followed by more.
In case of a spill, damage estimates are impossible,.....anything can be fixed, without question.......the question is cost.
contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and cost estimation ....possible parts replacement.

  • Camileo X400 camera - low audio volume

    Hi
I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I recently purchased the cameo x400 and when I upload it to face book the audio volume is really low.
I am using a new lapel clip mike which I have tried on other audio devices so that is not at fault. Is there something in the settings etc that I need to change when using the mike or can I edit it to increase the volumeon the software provided.
    Many thanks
    Ian

Did you check the user manual of Camileo X400?
    I recommend doing this.
Unfortunately it looks like the microphone volume isnt changeable.
Only the menu sound can be changed. This option can be found in Setup menu.

  • Whoever records conversation is low in volume

As the subject says, when I record a Skype conversation between myself and others, my audio is really low. A friend of mine experiences the same thing. His audio is low when he listens to his recording. All others are fine.
We are using the latest software versions, we are using mixers and XLR microphones, and have tried different settings in Skype (automatic setting as well as not allowing automatic control of sound levels). We have also tried increasing the gain both within windows and via our mixers. When we record in Audition all is fine, but we use mp3skyperecorder to record in Skype and this is a pain when not all callers are the same volume.
Is this just the way it is? Or is there a secret trick to allow us to control levels so that all voices on the recording are even?

this is a pain isnt it
I plug my beats into the iphone4s, I'm listening away, and then I get an SMS. I click close, coz I wont read that right now, and instantly my volume increases !!, but get this, as soon as the song is finshed and the next song plays, my volume reduces back down again. I need another sms to get my volume back up !!
So Im thinking, OK, the iphone wants to alert me with Chime - coz its a new SMS, raises its volume, but can neither sustain that volume through to my next song, nor if I unplug my beats and put em back in again.
    *** apple, sort this out!!

  • Nokia Lumia 1020 Very Low Earpiece Volume

    Hi
My Nokia Lumia 1020 has very low earpiece volume. At even maximum volume one can find it really hard to hear. I have brushed off any dust etc.. but still the problem persists. I have also read other users facing similar problems. What a pity that such a great phone cannot fulfil basic purpose of having a phone. What's the solution as I want to switch back to Samsung note 3.

    Hi, hugosilver and kleo1712.
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
To help us isolate the issue, you can not hear the person on the other line, the person on the other line cannot hear you, or the audio quality is poor when in call? There are several fixes that you can try to possibly resolve whichever the exact issue you have with your phone is. See: http://www.nokia.com/ph-en/support/product/lumia1020/troubleshooter/?categories=Audio%20and%20sound,.... (Note: The provided link is intended for customers who are located in the Phiippines. it is really annoying
The last resort perhaps is to send the phone to a Nokia Care Point for further device evaluation.

  • Very low sound volume on Portege R500

The sound volume on my R500 (R500-11c to be exact) is ridiculously low. Only with volume maxed out (100) and using headphones do I hear anything at all, and even then it's way too low to be useful. I can just make out the test sounds in the left and then right earphone when using the test sound found at Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers (there are no Headphones to be selected) -> Properties -> Advanced -> Test. Unplugging the headphones I hear nothing from the speakers, due to the (very low) sounds made by the fan and HDD. Playing music (with headphones) I can just make out that sounds are being produced, but I can't even make out what is playing.
I've tested the things mentioned in the "Satellite 5105-S901 Sound is very low (even on max volume) using supplied Toshiba driver" thread with no success (including Loudness Equalization).
I'm running Vista Business 32bit, and have tried the driver_audio_realtek26117B.exe, driver_audio_realtek_TC00157600B.exe, and Vista_Win7_R243_x86.exe driver files, and also used the util_mute_off_25847B.exe utility.
Enabling mute makes the already faint sounds go completely silent, so I don't think it's a mute issue.
Jack detection does work, I can see that in the Realtek HD Audio Manager program. Using that program's sound test (Speaker Configuration) I have to go to a completely silent room, and even then I only hear something in the right earphone. (I think; it's so darn low I could be imagining I hear it.)
Decreasing the sound volume slider from 100 does make the almost inaudible sound even harder to even notice, and at around 45 it is no longer audible even in a quiet room with headphones.
So it seems that I somehow need to reset the audio chip to "normal" level. Or it is broken and can't output anything more audible.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can try next? I can boot to XP or Linux if anyone has any ideas on how to get sound there, just to get started. (They're silent as well, I haven't done as extensive testing under those as under Vista.)

    Hello, and thanks for answering.
Yes, I have tried increasing the volume in control panel -> Realtek HD audio manager. No success.
I have used a bunch of different drivers, both from toshiba's website and realtek's.
Recently did a fresh XP install on another hard drive (don't have Vista install media), tried both 5.10.0.5869 and 5.10.0.6066 drivers (5.10.0.6066 is from march 13, 2010), sound still as low no matter what I do.
Did the really desperate thing: bought a new (used) sound module on ebay ("Toshiba Portege R500 (PPR50E-00L048EN) USB jack" on ebay.co.uk), but it has the same problem as the original one.
A hardware problem... well maybe, I was thinking perhaps the sound module doesn't get enough power from the motherboard, but since there is some sound (although very low), the USB jack on the module works, the headphone/mic jack detection works, and the diagnostics found in the Control Panel all say that the device is working OK, I don't think it's a hardware problem.
I'm guessing there is a problem with the drivers initializing the sound to a ridiculously low setting, and increasing the volume level to 100 makes it go up to a level equal to perhaps 2 in a regular system. That should be solved by a fresh install, but it isn't.
Perhaps the BIOS messes up the sound? But re-flashing the BIOS doesn't help...
    Anyone got any other ideas?
I've googled and found people having problems with low sound volume on other laptops using the ALC262 chip, but no general solution.
