Really need basic information
i am about to change from toshiba satellite a200 to a mac (still confuse of macbook or macbook pro). i want to know and need some basic informations, because it's relly my blind spot:
1. is macbook already enough for design usage (than macbook pro, but i want to know if macbook is already ok)?
2. what about its bluetooth connectivity, could it connect with all kinds of bluetooth?
3. can i install ms. office 2007 without remove its mac os program, and without installing windows program (this one really need a complete explanation i think)?
4. what are the basic programs macbook have?

The macbook is enough machine for you to start with basic design and editing. But you will notice a significant difference between the quality and colors when comparing a macbook to a macbook pro. Either is a good choice but I assure you that you will not be disappointed if you spring for the pro.
The Bluetooth capabilities are great on both machines. you can sink up with phones, other computers, mouses and keyboard, etc. It really is nice.
You wont be able to install microsoft office 2007 since there isnt a microsoft office 2007 for macs. you would either have to go with 2004 which was written for the ppc chipset and will have a little bit of a delay from the translation of the program or go with the brand new 2008 which is written for the intel chips.

I conclude that you tried to move the jvm, and now it can't find its required dlls.
Or: You may have to set the current working directory before you load the jvm. -

Real time business process example would be sedning credit card data to the Bank for Authorization. This is a synchronous call.

Knowledge in SAP would be helpful.

If you are a developer then you would need to do only the configuration in Integration Directory and Integration Repository. some amount of coding if you are doing complex mapping

ITunes 101- I need basic information
Now I am interested in using iTunes for burning some CDs of my favorite music. I have some basic questions.
- For downloading or buying my favorite music, where is good place to download/buy? (Is the iTune store only place?)
- After downloading/buying music, if I make my favorite music CD, what do I need to do? (just buy writable CD and burn those downloaded music within iTune?)
Please give me some idea to start. Thanks!iTunes is certainly not the only place to buy music, but it is certainly the easiest to use with your Mac. There may be formatting issues to consider when buying elsewhere, and you may have to convert formats before they will play on iTunes.
As for burning a playable disc with your music, once you make a playlist in iTunes, you just select that list and click on the burn disc button in the top right corner of iTunes. It will ask you to insert a disc, and you can put in most any CD disc you can buy, though I would stay away from the cheapest stuff out there for quality reasons.

Need Basic Information About Importing Word Documents
I just purchased a 24" iMac, after years of using a G4 running OS 9.1. I still need (primarily) a word processing progam and am considering either Word in Microsoft Office or Pages within iWork. I have used Office on both the Mac and PC platforms for years. However, I don't use the other applications within Office that often anymore. And with a new version on the horizon, I'm not sure if I want to buy Office 2004.
My questions focus on Word documents. I have many Word documents on my G4 that I still need to use. My belief is that if I buy Office, I should have no problem. I need to know whether I can I import these Word documents into Pages? If so, will they look the same (formatting) and can I work with (edit) them? What can I expect?
Also, when friends and colleagues send me Word files as attachments, will I be able to open them in Pages?
I appreciate your replies and any recommendations you can offer. Thanks in advance for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Welcome to Apple discussions.
In general, you should have absolutely no problem opening and editing Word documents. Keep in mind that some of Word's more esoteric features don't exist in Pages, so it may be possible that more complicated documents won't look exactly the same in Pages as they do in Word. But I exchange docs with Word users all the time and have no problems.

I have the opportunity to teach a bunch of students at my school Flash. I am NOT a Flash programmer. I am/was a C/Unix and VB programmer. So, I have 4-5 months to LEARN everything I need to learn (of course, I will continue to learn while I am teaching but I will have more time now) by then. So, I started with the trial products.

and it seems they are "assuming" a certain setup and knowledge.
1) They talked about a MYSQL database. So, does that mean I have to install MYSQL on my computer?
2) Then they talked about a webserver. Does that mean I need that installed too?

I just think they should put "prerequisites" at the beginning of it.
I really need more information about EACH project that is related to FLASH. What basic information do I need, what do I really need to learn this stuff quickly and easily?
NOTE: I posted this in Flex, but I really need information about EACH product related to FLASH, since that is what I will be teaching. I will be teaching both the programming/designing part of Flash.

Yes, it will do a full backup.

Only if you want to be able to go back in time to those previous Time Machine backups. When you plug in the new larger external drive, you will only be able to go back as far as the first day you plugged it in and ran the first Time Machine backup on it. -

No app is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

You can try removing the card in your account information, but if that credit card expired before you removed it, you might be stuck now,
Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores in iOS 6)>Apple ID. Tap your ID. Then tap View Apple ID. Enter your password. Tap the arrow next to Payment Information and select None if it is available in your settings. See if that will work for you.
If iTunes doesn't accept that or if you didn't have None in the options, you are stuck until you enter e new card. -

You guys really need to fix Messages.
The messages application within Mountain Lion is the most dysfunctional piece of software I've ever seen released, and not patched. Since ML was released, messages has been causing my 2011 MBP to freeze up on resuming and constantly locks up when I type something into the search field. If spotlight can index my entire harddrive, messages can index basic text messages. Also, messages is unable to send files at random times. The files transfer window shows all the files that had attempted to reach me, but their progress bars are stuck. Deleting .plist files for messages fixes this problem, but you should not have to do this. This program is absolutely unacceptable. You guys really need to patch this, or better yet, develop an entirely different messages. Something as simple as this program should have ZERO problems, especially being so late after its release. PLEASE FIX.
