Really weird ipod problem that i cant find info on

Okay, so i took my ipod to my dad's house over the weekend and his computer messed it up. Now when i import songs, they appear to convert to the ipod when I'm in itunes, but once i unplug the ipod from the computer (and yes i do eject it first) the songs disappear. For some reason i can't ad any songs to my ipod anymore. Earlier some weird message about a corrupted file chklis/file7 or something along that line at least came up. And well, I have no idea what to do. Ive been searching for help all night and i havent found any yet.

Assuming that your computer recognizes the iPod is connected, check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method I've seen posted. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer.

    any thoughts anyone??

Perhaps the reason you haven't had any replies is because there is no such thing as an 8GB iPod Classic.
I suggest that you begin by correctly identifying which iPod you have.

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.
If you have failed to do this, then you need to redownload:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Got my iphone 4s today but the camera has a bug that i cant find reported anywhere

Got my iphone 4s today but the camera has a bug that i cant find reported. When i take a picture or filming the camera screen shows the buttons in landscape mode( the buttons are at the bottom in landscapemode instead of the bottom end of the phone) and the object i am filming shows up 90 degrees rotated. If i hold the phone in landscapemode the object moves 90degrees rotated too. In i pan the phone the image on the screen goes up and down insted. Very weird.
But when i check the video there is nothing wrong with the movie. Please help....

Contact Apple and inform them you have AppleCare +. If your phone is working correctly they may or may not replace it, only they can anwer that question.

  • I have an old iPod classic that iTunes cannot find, I can't even restore it!?

I have an old iPod Classic that iTunes cannot "find" even though it shows it. I can't even restore it. Works fine except can't synch with iTunes to add new music!?

We (Appple techs) tried disk mode and that didn't work. At times the iPod would even "show" itself in iTunes and iTunes would say it was synching but when you looked at the iPod you could tell it wasn't ( it just said do not disconnect) and after 10 to 40 minutes later iTunes would say can't find iPod. We would then have to force quit iTunes because it was hung up and then just disconnect the iPod. The iPod works fine with headphones or a docking station, just can't add (or subtract) anything to it. It completely mystified all the techs in the store and all "senior" advisors on the phone- and that was about 4.5 hours getting tossed to one "expert" or another! Ah well, indeed stranger than life.

    find it

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. You can  have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

  • TS4006 how do i activate find my ipod? because i cant find it anywhere?

how do i activate find my ipod? because i cant find it anywhere?

In order for a lost iPod Touch to be located you have to have set 'Find My iPad' up on it before losing it, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network (how else could it transmit its location) - if any of these conditions is not true then locating it is not possible.

  • I tried to set up a new library for my old ipod nano so i could update songs on it however when i tried to import songs from a cd it crashed and i had to end task therefor not getting to sync the new songs with ipod nano. now i cant find old library

However during the process of adding new songs itunes crashed and i had to end task therefor not getting the chance to sync the new songs onto ipod nano. later when i plugged in my current ipod touch all my songs have disappeared and i cant find the original itunes library i had for it! is there anyway to get it back? i have tried pressing shift when opening itunes but still cant find the original itunes that i had!!

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

  • Really weird laptop problem, please help!

    Hi,
I just got a new laptop this weekend, Lenovo S205, everything is perfect and so far I love it.
However, one really weird problem i cannot find an answer for anywhere.
When I shut the laptop down it instantly restarts. Doesnt matter if I hold the power button down either, as soon as I let go it boots back up.
I have no peripherals plugged in or anything.
    I'm totally stumped!!
Its really annoying as the only way to turn my laptop off is to unplugged the battery, or just let it run down.
    Any ideas much appreciated.

    Hi and welcome,
did you prove your energymanagement & a few windows settings  at the end of this EM Settings in knowledgebase...
as well something could provoke restart instead of shutdown ...
Best is to exclude software failure,  restore to factory condition with dvds ..  Create Factory Disc
after factory restore ... if your S205 have same behaviour ...call your local service..

  • IPod problems that keep getting worse...

There isn't really a specific title that can fit my current dilemmas with regards to my iPod classic as there are many issues that I am currently pulling my hair out over and am in desperate need of getting my iPod back on the road.
Firstly a little background information as this may be part of the cause. I have had my iPod classic since the end of January this year, so it's not very old. My computer I am currently using however, is about 4 years old so is quite slow and battered. It does work though, and with relation to my iPod there is only one cause for concern. Whenever I plug my iPod in or any USB device that is, after a while the computer completely freezes up and the only way of resurrecting it is rebooting it. I don't know if this is related to my other problems, but this may be of use in diagnosis.
Anyway, about a month ago for some reason when trying to manually (I don't automatically sync my iPod) add an album, my iPod just seemed to flip out and the error 'Delayed Write Failed' came up. On ejecting my iPod all my 5000 songs and everything else had been wiped. After researching this problem on the internet I tried a thing called Disc Caching "Because iTunes tries to push as much data as possible as quickly as possible, Windows was unable to keep up, resulting in the error." this seemed to fit my problem, like I said the computer was old and this sounded about right. Unlucky for me, it wasn't that easy and I had no joy.
I've lost count of the amount of times I restored it and every time I try to add new music the same 'Delayed Write Failed' message comes up, or the computer just completely freezes before the message has the chance to come up. The message usually appears after putting 200 or so (there is a definite number of which I'm not sure of) songs on. I've also had the message 'attempting to copy to the disc 'iPod' failed. The disc could not be read or written to.' one or twice also.
This evening I tried again to get my iPod working, but it didn't even load up in iTunes (the programme opened, but that's as far as it got) and then resulted in a freeze up of the computer.
I shall try my iPod on another computer to see whether it is the compueter's fault or my iPod itself, as perhaps this may shed some light on the situation. For the record I also have an iPod mini that I use to run with, this has always been fine and is working now as well as it ever has. I also tried connecting my classic with a Firewire cable which worked fine on the mini and didn't result in a freeze up either, but of course this doesn't work with the classic (I do know why).
I would appreciate some advice on my situation immensely as I can't live without my iPod and I miss it so much. Any advice I thank in advance!

I'm getting a new laptop for my birthday in about a week, so there's no need to reinstall Windows all over again. Plus I would probably make the computer blow up or something if I did this.
Tonight I tried my iPod on another friends computer. Although his is also old, it did not freeze up like mine. Now that is obviously a problem with my system and has already been addressed. However my iPod again proceeded to misbehave. It got to about 270 (ish) songs and then the dreaded error came up saying 'attempting to copy to the disc 'iPod' failed.' But when I ejected it, it still had the small amount of music that I was able to put on, on it.
Later, I tried to put about five songs on but the error: The iPod 'x' could not be synced. An unknown error occured (-1303).
So now I have diagnosed that it is obviously the problem with my iPod. Although, should I try it on my brand new laptop that may get rid of all the other previous problems?
I would be eternally grateful for any help as I can't stand life without my iPod!

  • IPod problem that has no solution

The problem seems to have no solution anyway, so I hope someone here might have some advice. I have a 5th generation iPod with video for Windows that is a little over a year old. It's always worked fine until recently.
I had to send my computer in for repair so I backed up all my files onto my iPod. When I got the computer back they did a complete restore so the files on my iPod are the only available copies. I've reinstalled iTunes but neither the computer or iTunes seems to recognize the iPod anymore.
I tried all of the 5 r's except the restore option because I don't want to lose these files that have already been lost on my computer. Not to mention that I can't restore it without the computer or iTunes recognizing it. I also can't update the software for this same reason.
The other problem is that since the computer won't recognize the iPod I can't charge it.
I can't seem to figure out any solution. It's like a catch 22. It needs to be fully charged to fix the problem of the computer not recognizing it but since the computer doesn't recognize it I can't charge it. It's not dead, but it will be if I don't solve this soon.
Since it worked fine before I sent the computer out I feel like its probably not a problem with the iPod. But on that note, I know its not the USB ports because they work with other peripherals.
Also, I just ordered a MacBook and I am planning on moving my files over to it when it arrives, but I can't do that with a nonfunctioning iPod.
Any ideas? Please help if you can. I would really appreciate it.

You can use the USB Power Adapter accessory to charge your iPod without connecting it to your computer. Just plug it into a power outlet directly. I think it charges faster this way too. That should solve your power problem.
As for the files remaining on your iPod. You might consider switching your iPod to Disk Mode:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
This may help your computer recognize it as a regular USB drive. If that works, you can then copy all of your files to the computer using Windows Explorer. After that, you can consider restoring your iPod now that the files have been transferred back to your computer.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • 5 th generation weird Ipod problem

About 2 months ago I bought a 30 GB ipod video, until couple of days ago I didn't have any problems with it. Well what happend was that I left my ipod uncharged for about 24 hours and when I plugged it in the very low battery sign showed up, and than
instead of charging the ipod the battery icon disappears after about 20 seconds and nothing happens.I can't start it but in my opinion the battery can't be dead already after using it for about 3 months. Please help
P.S. Since I live in Ukraine and I bought this ipod in Poland I cannot really return it to the store.

    Let me add:
    - Yesterday, I plugged in my iPod and iTunes would not recognize it's presence. I believe the computer did though.
    - I then restarted my computer, reconnected the iPod, and iTunes recognized the device.
    - I updated, then proceeded to run the battery all the way down.
    - Today, I plug in iPod knowing that it needs charge.
    - The screen lights up entirely white, and shakes. Holding the unit close to my ear, I hear a "buzz/hiss" sound.
    - Windows says it cannot recognize the device and recommends I reinstall the drivers or get a new device.
    - I tried plugging it into various other USB outlets.
    - Now, it does nothing. Not even a white screen and/or charge animation.
    - I've tried other devices in my USB ports, all work fine.
    - This is bad. Expensive and new.

  • An assortment of problems that I cant get my head round.

Okay, so Im making a basic game for a college project, and I have a few problems that really just dont make sense to me or I simply dont know how to do.
Heres a zip of the .fla and as3 files:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?7v2wfcgd47h7xv3
The first issue I have is that where the player spawns, a sort of invisible block is left and the player is unable to enter that area. This also happens when the trigger block is destroyed. I'm sure I've used the same code before for the same idea and it worked, but alas, this doesnt.
As you'll notice, currently the enemy code is quite complex. I was wondering if theres a way to put some code in the enemy class and set it so that if it hits a waypoint to simple reverse its direction
The third point is that, the current graphics used are obviously horrible and will be invisible when the final game is made. How do i make it so that when the blockNorm object is made, it makes say blockNormSkin at its exact location. It would be good if this is inside the blockNorm class so that it does them all automatically and I dont have to code them all indivdually.
Relating to the above point, instead of that I tried just drawing on the actual graphics I wanted to use. This resulted in the player object not working properly at all. (I know this is vague, and so if you have any idea why this happened, say and I'll try post an example of it).
I think thats everything, but I may update the post later if I remember anything. I know this is a lot, so any help about any of the points would be a great help. Thanks!

    Hi
First, an important note dont use method names with uppercase as the first letter only for class names, like that:
    class ShareInPortfolio - is ok
    void Addshare(ShareInPortfolio s) - should be: void addShare(ShareInPortfolio s)
there is a convesion for the JAVA language.
Second: unitTest method is a part of a class, so make it static method and rename the name from UnitTest to unitTest and call it like this: CLASSNAME.unitTest
