Realtek HD audio driver updated

Question

For my HP Media Center m7060n with Windows XP the HP site indicates the most updated driver is as of Sept 2005.  I am having problems with Power Director 9 which I bought a couple of weeks ago and their tech support believes one of the reasons is an out of date driver.  I am reluctant to use someone other than HP for the driver primarily due to it being from unknown sources and thus a risk, or at least a perceived risk.
Any ideas on whether or not the 2005 version is the best for my situation and if not how to update it?

I retried the effort and was successful at downloading and installing the new driver.  HOWEVER, now I have no sound.  Under control panel, sound and audio devices, in the audio tab, it now shows "no playback devices".  Here is what dxdiag showed before and after:

Under device manager, it does show realtek, with the new drivers and it shows it as enabled with no problems.
