This is a foolish question, I know, and I don't expect an official response, just asking for opinions. What's the harm in connecting a 6 ft. AWG22-26 wire to the unattached terminal of the Realtek RTL8188EE wireless adapter?

    Hi:
If it doesn't push the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) into the danger zone, I don't see any problem with it at all.
I highly doubt it will, but unless you have the card and modified antenna system tested and validated by an authorized place that does SAR testing, you can't be 100% sure.
Here is an example of such a service, but more importantly, it describes what SAR is, and why testing is sometimes necessary -- even for laptops.

    Any of these will work:

    Rats.
I hope the replacement card fixes the problem.  Over the years I have had just one bad network card -- and it drove me nuts tracking down that it was, indeed, a failed card.
Good Luck - post back if you like and let us know the results!

  • Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter does not give me 152Mbps - Why?

Hi Our home internet connection is running at 152Mbps but the best I am getting is 50 on my laptop via WiFi. Having spoken to my ISP (Virgin Media), the suggestion was made that the WiFi adapter firmware needs to be updated. Is this correct/possible? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Keith

If you have one of the HP 15 models that is easy to get to the wireless card, and there are two antenna leads attached to the card, you can just replace the internal card with a better one of your choosing. If your notebook has an Intel processor, you can replace the RTL card with any one you want, such as an Intel 7260 dual band N or AC card. If it has an AMD processor, I would suggest replacing it with a Broadcom dual band N or AC wireless card. An Intel wireless card won't work in an AMD notebook. HP removed the BIOS restrictions on unsupported wireless cards in the last year to 15 months or so.

  • Realtek RTL8188EE adapter wifi problem

I have a  HP Pavilion 17-e016dx Notebook PC running windows 8.1 and I am having problems with the realtek RTL8188EE. When I connect to the my netgear R6300v2 AC router it has signal and speed issues.  I use inssider 3 to show the signal btw, I noticed the signal droped from -54dbm to -68dbm without moving the laptop and the router has good signal and speed for other devices except this laptop. So this wifi adapter has a problem with the r6300v2. If anyone can help me fix this or let realtek acknowledege this issue I would really appreciate it.

    Hello KMac10,
I see that you're having issues with the wireless working correctly. I will try to help you with this.
I was able to find a newer driver for the wireless adapter in your notebook:
Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows.
If after loading that you're having the issue still the following:
Go into Device Manager, click the "+" by network adapters, next right click the wireless driver and choose to uninstall. Restart the notebook.
Start with that and let me know how it goes.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Airport dual enet snow and usb 802.11g wireless usb adapter

Can I use a wireless 802.11g adapter with my imac (iLamp)to connect to my snow base station, or bo I need ans xxx.11g /b adapter?

Sorry - I missed that from the title of your message.
The answer to that question is no - an exclusively 802.11g USB wireless adapter will not be able to connect to a Snow Base Station. I'd be surprised if this was ever an issue - I don't know of any exclusively 802.11g USB wireless adapters that work with Macs.
I suggest you avoid use of USB wireless adapters with Macs. Yes some people have used them successfully, but still more people have nothing but grief with these devices. Very, very few USB wireless adapters have any MacOS driver support in the first place.

  • Identify 802.1x support wireless adapter

    hi guys:
IS there any good ways to detect if the client's computer support 802.1x(OS or adapter)? We would rather not check each client's computer one by one.Thaks for help.
    regards

No, not really. You'll just get a string of "Cannot Associate" type messages.
The other danger there is things like .... Intel had a series of drivers for the BG2200 that would cause MIC errors .... if the AP sees two MIC errors in sixty seconds, by default, by spec, it will shut down for a while. The radio goes off-air .... everything drops.
There is a timer / setting / parameter you can tweak to keep that from happening (I don't remember which one), but thoses are the kinds of risks you run when you don't / can't control the client specification.
    Good Luck
    Scott

  • Netgear WG311v3 802.11g Wireless PCI Adapter

I have a G5 Tower with PCI slots.
Is there a way to make this wireless card recognized as an AirPort card under OS 10.5.8?
Currently, it does not even show up System Profiler.

Just google "Netgear WG311v3 802.11g Wireless PCI Adapter". Apparently it supports Windows OS's. You can also inquire from the manufacturer.

  • IPad adapter was burnt out.

My 10W iPad USB power adapter was burnt out..
It was my first time to connect iPad with the adapter to charge. About after 6 or 7 minutes later, there were some sparks on the adapter itself. I disconnected the cable from the iPad immediately. But the charger doesn't work anymore. The iPad and the cable seems safe.
I bought in Apple store and delivered to here Seoul, South Korea. The power outlet has had no problems. I use it for charging my MBA everyday.
The iPad is not available outside USA. So what should I do?
BTW, why the charger makes sparks to be broken??

The power adapter we got will support 100-240 Volts AC at 50/60 Hz.
The part that plug into the wall is removable and will slide in and out.
There is a chance the removable part is where the sparking occurred. The 2 power prongs also flip out and may need to be fully at 90 degs to work.
As there are 2 points of machanical connection on a solid state device- I would check there first.
IF the sparking was just in the removal part then other Apple power cords will slide into the power adapter as well as kits for the type of electrical wall outlets used around the world.
Check the USB socket part of the adapter for any problems also.
you can use a powered USB hub or some computer USB ports to keep your Ipad charged if the problem is INSIDE the power adapter.

  • File Adapter: File Deletion Failure

    Hi everyone.
My File Adapter is having trouble deleting a file that I placed on a server through FTP. Even after executing chmodd 777 on that file. But, my File Adapter will delete a file that was created by another File Adapter on that same server.
Any suggestion as to why the File Adapter is able to delete a file created by another File Adapter but not able to delete a file uploaded through FTP?

    984188 wrote:
It is relevant in this case. As my original post stated, my SynchRead File Adapter will delete a file that is create by my Write File Adapter. The way you write the file is irrelevant... The user that is writing the file is the key... It works FileAdapter to FileAdapter because in that case the user that creates is the same that deletes... Anyway, the solution for your problem is to chmod directory where the files are...
I reckon your directory is sticky so one user can not delete files from the other user...
