Realtime playback even when red bar displays?

I created some crawling text in CS6 and it shows the red bar above it indicating from what I understand that it will require rendering, however, it seems to play back fine in real time in my Timeline. Does the red bar mean something else?
Thanks.

  • Choppy playback even when rendered.

    I'm having an odd issue with the latest version of PPro CC, where even when rendered my playback at full or 1/2 resolution is incredibly choppy to the point that it's really unwatchable (the audio plays back fine though). I don't recall having this issue before the 2014 update so I may reinstall PPro, but I wanted to see if anyone else had similar issues before I went ahead and did that.
    My PC specs are an 8 core i7-3820, 64GB's of Ram, and an Nvidia GTX670. My PC should be more than able to handle this video playback even when unrendered. I mainly work on short 2-5 minute videos using 1080p footage at 23.97fps.

    I've tried enabling and disabling CUDA playback too and it doesn't seem to effect it at all.

  • "Calculating Playback" even when effects switched off

    If I assign "Full Reverb" to a track there is a slight "calculating playback" pause when I hit play. So far so good.
    Why is it, though, that if I then switch off the reverb (by deselecting the green switch above the track's fader on the mixer), when I next hit play I don't get the effect - of course - however there is still a "calculating playback" pause. Is there a way of keeping the reverb in the track's effects rack ready for when I want to switch it back on, without having to have the "calculating playback" pause?

    Yes it is still processed even if it is bypassed. Full reverb is about the only effect that does require a lot of pre-processing and gives that delay. If you are happy with your settings for it you can always Pre-Render the track by clicking on the Lightning box at the top right of the track effects rack. You can still go back and change things if you need but if OK it will save the processing pause when you hit Play.

  • IPod pauses during playback, even when Hold is on

    My iPod recently started to pause all by itself during playbacks. The problem has been recurring, sometimes as frequently as a few seconds apart. It stops even when the Hold switch is on. Motion seems to make it worse, although the problem still occurs when the iPod is sitting still. I haven't dropped the device or otherwise subjected it to impact. Please help!!!

    You should restore it.

  • TableView scrolling even when scroll bar is in the middle

    All
    If we have a table that has events being inserted into it constantly when I move the scrollbar half way down the table keeps scrolling so I can't fix
    it on a certain row that I want to look at.

    I am having the same issue. Went to the Apple Store in Boston and the Genius Bar escalated the problem to the Engineers and they could not even solve it. They needed me to send them an image of the issue. I went to another Apple store and the Genius there had much better problem solving skills. He used his own critical thinking and discovered that the horizontal scroll bar sits at the same height. The height is exactly where the split keyboard ends. If you take screen shots and compare...you will find they are all at the same height. He thinks since the keyboard is a new feature they havent worked out the problems yet...and we will have to wait for the update.
    Ever since Steve Jobs has been gone the call to response for issues is getting increasing slower and slower. New products continue to roll out but they all have problems and bugs. Take Maps for instance...they still have not fixed all the issues (even with this 6.0.1 update). The Ipad mini I spend 700$ for and it is such a faulty product. For what I spent I would have thought I would have gotten a great product. I have all Apple products...phone, desktop, laptop, Ipad original, and Mini...but they have done me wrong over and over. It may take months for them to roll out the fix the way the compnay has been operating under Cook.
    When will the fix come....I do not know... best of luck!

  • In QC no images showing when Attribute bar displayed

    When I'm in Quick Collection, if I have the Attribute bar showing at all (even without any filters set), all my photos disappear and says "No photos match the filter". I've looked for every possible filter and nothing is on that I know of.
    Something that may be new in LR4 that I'm seeing is when I do have a filter set say for 3 stars and better it says "3 Stars And Higher Used Photos". What's the "Used Photos" all about? Is that what's confusing me?

    I was having a similar problem just now... it seems that the Book module was somehow involved.  I think the "Used Photos" have to do with which photos are used in a "Book".
    So, I switched to the Book module, and it added a bunch of photos to the new "book".  Then I clicked on "Clear Book", back to my collection, and, so far, all is well.

  • Why does the YouTube app say playback error every time even when I have wi-fi

    When I try playing a video it keep saying playback error even when I have wi-fi on. This has happened a few days ago.

    I notice that the WiFi is "white", like all good KitKat icons, instead of White for connected with no internet, and blue for fully functioning.
    The 1x right next to it seems very dim.  If I turn off WiFi, the 1x gets bright white, and has the up/down arrows under it.
    If having the icon on my status bar all the time means that I actually will get data when I leave WiFi, then it's a winner.
    I "hotspot" a lot, and I used to have to make sure I had a data connection and launch the hotspot before I got on a phone call, because the only way to get it to connect was to power cycle the phone.

    Help!  My iPhone 4 displays a cord to an itunes icon and I can't get it to go away...even when plugged into my computer.  My computer doesn't recognize it as a device.  How can I just cancel all this and get my phone back to normal?

    You might want to try performing a hard reset of your device; this will restart it and generally clear out any errors, it will not erase any data on your device.
    Press and hold both the home button and the lock button (the button on the top right of the iPhone) for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.

  • When I plug my ipad in to charge its just coming up with a red bar in the charge icon and not charging

    When i plug in my ipad to charge its just coming up with a red bar in the recharge icon and not charging.... what does this mean and how can it be fixed... checked all cables, not broken

    First make sure you are using the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a good wall outlet. When the iPad battery is completely drained it may take some time on the charger before the iPad responds. Be patient and let the iPad remain on the charger for at least an hour then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%. If the iPad does not restart Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

    Assuming you are disconnecting from line power, when you say switched on, do you mean it was shutdown or in sleep mode?  If sleep mode the battery will still drain because sleep still keeps some things active and the battery does drain a little.  However, to go from 100% to 79% charge overnight is a bit excessive in sleep mode.  Unless you have some processes set to activate over night by the cron file and do things like backup the system.

    Hi Paul ,
    It could be a compatibility issue as well as Acrobat 8 is an older version.
    Do you get any error message while registering for the product?
    Try repairing it and once and also check for updates as well.
    Is it happening with all the word files or any specific one'?

  • Keep fixed resolution even when display not attached

    Is there any way to lock the display resolution on a Mac, even when there is no display attached? Or to change the set of display resolutions that are available when no display is attached?
    I connect a Mac to my A/V system via DVI -> HDMI. As long as the unit the Mac is connected to is turned on, the Mac gets reasonable EDID info and allows me to set it to 1920x1080, as desired. But after turning the A/V system off overnight, the Mac invariably reverts to some lower resolution, which wreaks havoc with window sizes and positions. I just want the Mac to stay at 1920x1080.
    I tried SwitchResX, which lets you add available resolutions and disable resolutions, but only when the display is attached, so it accomplishes nothing when the display is disconnected. I've confirmed the inability of SwitchResX to address the problem with its author.
    I purchased a Gefen DVI Detective Plus that theoretically learns the EDID information of a display, keeps that information available to the Mac at all times, and passes the video through it. This would be perfect, except A) it doesn't work correctly in the learning mode (I never did get an image up that way), and B) using a built-in EDID configuration it doesn't cleanly pass the video (it works sometimes, for a little while, but then sparklies start to appear and before long the HDMI connection is lost). Useless.
    I found information on the web about various .plist files, and I've edited most or all of them, all to no avail. I think I could give myself additional resolutions, while a display is connected, but, again, it's the behavior when there effectively is no display that is causing me problems.
    Unless someone here knows a way to lock the display resolution or to edit the set of resolutions available when a display is missing I fear I'll be moving and resizing windows for the rest of my days.
    (Note: This machine happens to still be on Tiger, but I'd be happy to upgrade it to Leopard if that would afford a solution.)

    Are you saying you already got it fixed but the problem is reaccuring??
    I am part of the unlucky ones who didnt't have applecare or the extended warranty. My iMac broke down 8 months ago. I no longer have any display. The strange thing was I left it at home because I went to uni, so there was a period of at least 10 months where it was not used. But still it failed within a few weeks of me getting back home. I was sucked in by their adverts making me believe they were a superior computer to any windows based. How wrong was I. It has now left me with a very bitter taste.
    Any of you guys know if it still will work if I connect an external monitor?

    You'll get no solution until you say what the problem is, rather than just ranting.  "Software breakdown" down is as meaningful as "car won't go".

  • Why the fk does this browser pick a prefill add even when iclick off the fkn list in the add bar and the add in the add bar isn't the fkn prefill one?

    i type an add. the one in the bar is the one i want, the prefill list lists similar. if my mouse goes over the list, this idiot fkn browser picks the one my cursor went over, even when i reclick the add bar and the add shown there is not the one from the prefill list.

    Look, many of us long time users of Firefox ''(12 years for me)'' feel pretty much the same as you do about Australis on the Desktop. I have tested and used the Australis UX Nightly builds from the days right after Firefox 4.0 was released; so Firefox 29 holds no surprises for me.
    The best that anyone here in the Firefox Support forum can do is to offer advice on how to modify Firefox 29 or to mention which extensions you can install to to fix what you don't like about the changes. Beyond that, I suggest that you use the Feedback page to let Mozilla know how you feel. <br />https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback
    "Bad design" ''(in your opinion)'' or not - use it as is, fix what you don't like, or switch to a different browser. Mozilla isn't going to dump Australis over user complaints, even if it would drag Firefox to its' grave.

  • My program always displays the same image, even when I change th image file

    I'm making a program that chooses an image file from a dialog, resize it and copy it into a folder. When the image is needed to be displayed, the image file is read and a JLabel displays it on screen.
    When I upload the first image, everything works fine. The problem appears when I upload another picture: the displayed image is still the first image, even when the old file doesn't exist anymore (because it has been overwritten). It looks like the image has been "cached", and no more image are loaded after the first one.
    This function takes the image picture chosen by the user, resizes it, and copy it into the pictures folder:
        private void changeProfilePicture() {
            JFileChooser jFileChooser = new JFileChooser();
            jFileChooser.setMultiSelectionEnabled(false);
            jFileChooser.setFileFilter(new ImageFileFilter());
            int result = jFileChooser.showOpenDialog(sdbFrame);
            if (JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION == result) {
                try {
                    //upload picture
                    File file = jFileChooser.getSelectedFile();
                    InputStream is = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(file));
                    //resize image and save
                    BufferedImage image = ImageIO.read(is);
                    BufferedImage resizedImage = resizeImage(image, 96, 96);
                    String newFileName = sdbDisplayPanel.getId() + ".png";
                    String picFolderLocation = db.getDatabaseLocation() + "/" +
                            PROFILE_PICTURE_FOLDER;
                    java.io.File dbPicFolder = new File(picFolderLocation);
                    if(!dbPicFolder.exists())  {
                        dbPicFolder.mkdir();
                    String newFilePath = picFolderLocation + "/" + newFileName;
                    File newFile = new File(newFilePath);
                    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream (newFilePath);
                    DataOutputStream dos = new DataOutputStream (fos);
                    ImageIO.write(resizedImage, "png", dos);
                    dos.close();
                    fos.close();
                    //set picture
                    sdbDisplayPanel.setImagePath(newFilePath);
                } catch (IOException ex) {
                    System.err.println("Could'nt print picture");
                }This other class actually displays the image file in a JLabel:
        public void setImagePath(String imagePath) {
            count++;
            speaker.setImagePath(imagePath);
            this.imagePath = imagePath;
            if(imagePath != null)   {
                //use uploaded picture
                try {
                    File tempFile = new File(imagePath);
                    System.out.println(tempFile.length());
                    java.net.URL imgURL = tempFile.toURI().toURL();
                    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(imgURL);
                    pictureLbl.setIcon(icon);
                    // Read from a file
                } catch (IOException ex) {
                    Logger.getLogger(SDBEventClass.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
            else    {
                //use default picture
                URL imgURL = this.getClass().getResource("/edu/usal/dia/adilo/images/noProfile.jpg");
                ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(imgURL, "Profile picture");
                pictureLbl.setIcon(icon);
        }

    When you flush() the image, you don't need to construct a new ImageIcon each time, a simple repaint() will suffice.
    Run this example after changing the URL to an image you can edit and update while the program is running.import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.Image;
    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
    import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
    import java.net.MalformedURLException;
    import java.net.URL;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class FlushImage {
       Image image;
       JLabel label;
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
             @Override
             public void run() {
                new FlushImage().makeUI();
       public void makeUI() {
          try {
             ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(new URL("file:///e:/java/dot.png"));
             image = icon.getImage();
             label = new JLabel(icon);
             JButton button = new JButton("Click");
             button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                   image.flush();
                   label.repaint();
             JFrame frame = new JFrame("");
             frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
             frame.add(label, BorderLayout.NORTH);
             frame.add(button, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
             frame.pack();
             frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
             frame.setVisible(true);
          } catch (MalformedURLException ex) {
             ex.printStackTrace();
    }db
