Hi,
But once i right clicking on default framework page, i can see the desktop inner page in page table. But their i am not able to find portal favorites iview. Only i can see the option visible & fixed check box right side of the desktop inner page table.
Right click open default framework page ->  desktop inner page ( select check box before desktop inner page ) -> click on open ( you can find it in bottom) -> then you can find portal favourites iview to uncheck.
Right now you opened framework page ,so you are able to see desktop inner page but you should open desktop inner page also to see portal favourites iview.

    Niki,
    The documentation says that
The Portal Favorites iView contains a freely definable list of links for direct access to items that you use regularly. This can include the following:
    ●     Portal pages and iViews that run as full-page applications
    ●     Documents, folders, and other items in KM repositories
    ●     External items, such as Internet pages
So we can't do it for Roles.
    For detailed information see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3a/d609e5803111d5992f00508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">Portal Favorites</a>

  • Broadcasting the querys which have been saved in the Portal Favorites.

    Hi Friends,
I was trying to broadcast the report from Portal to User Email. I can do the broadcasting through the wizard as well as normal way.
My Question is ...i have saved some of the querys(iViews) in the portal favorites and when i try to broadcast , iam not able to find the saved iviews in the favorites.
Is there any way to broadcast the querys which has been saved in the portal Favourits.
    Thanks in advance,

As far as I know, you can not save Queries to portal favorites.  It is only saved in the backend side and you need Web BEx to access them.

  • Removing the 'Portal Favorites' link

We installed Collaboration and Content Management so that we could take advantage of UWL in EP 6.0 (SP11).  But now, the 'portal favorites' iView is in all our roles.  But I don't actually see the iView in the content config of each role, user, etc.  How do I turn off this feature, as we don't have KW fully installed and don't intend to.

    Hi BLPDave,
Disabling the Portal Favorites are not part of properties of Desktop Inner Page. You need to edit the Desktop Inner Page, by selecting in radio button and then edit/process, not properties button. Inside of the page you will see some iViews (Portal Favorites, Related Links, Detail Navigation, Content Area, ...), one of them are Portal Favorites that should be deleted or just hidden.

  • Layout set for the link within the portal favorites

    Hi,
I added a link to a KM folder in my portal favorites and when I click on this link, it opens this folder in a new window but with a standard layout set.
How can I use my own layout set when I open this folder from my portal favorites ?
    Thanks,
    Loïc LEVEUGLE

    Thanks for your answer Sumit.
In fact, I just had to change the "layout set" property of the iView "Km Navigation iView" of the folder "/Content Provided by SAP/End User Content/Standard Portal Users/iViews/com.sap.km.iviews/URL Access/" of the PCD.

  • Portal favorites not displaying the iview.

    Hi Team,
We have a home role with a welcome page which is the first role to be displayed to every user logged in to portal.
Now we have enabled the option "Add to Portal favorites" to the portal objects. So when a report (BI / Bo report) is added to the portal favorites we are able to see the report added to the portal favorites iview. But when we try to access the report directly from portal favorites the link is navigating to the exact report path but not displaying the report instead it is displaying the welcome page of the HOME role.
When i try to add Identity management iview of the User admin to the portal favorites  and try to aceess it from Portal favorites iview, it navigates to the identity management page but the welcome page is displayed instead of the identity management iview.
Can you please let me know a fix for this.
    regards

    Hi Team,
Any ideas on this issue will be very helpful

    1) first check your portal desktop which frame work it is using.
By default we use default framework page.
It can be found in the path   Content admin->portal content.   in pcd content navigate to  content provided by SAP-> end user content
There you can find the default framework page
open that and check the desktop inner page and click open
remove the portal favorites iviews and put your own iview there.
My suggestion is make a copy of your default framework page and customize it and use this framework page in the portal desktop
Search for customizing the default framework page and desktop in SDN. you will get lot of links
Here is the help link to know more on default framework page

  • Can't add to portal favorites with "&" in the name field

    Hi there
Interesting problem which has been identified this morning ... it appears that certain iviews cannot be added to the portal favorites, and upon closer inspection, it appears that those iviews all have the "&" character in the name field.
For example, we have an iview with the name of "SAA013 Summary of Sales & Gross Margin vs Approved Plan". As you can see, its quite long, so anything to save some space.
If I remove the & and replace with "and", then I can add to portal favorites.
Has anyone else come across this and found an alternate solution? I could probably get away with convincing the client to allow "and" to be inserted, but then there's quite a few iviews that will have to be renamed, which is a rather tedious task.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi,
For some reason the note wasn't released.
    Now it is released.
    Its content:
    Symptoms:
Portal Favorite doesn't work for object that contain the symbol "&" in the name.
    Keywords:
    Portal Favorite, navigation
    Reasons:
The problem was a missing in the encoding of the name
    Solution:
    Fix in SP12 patch #4

  • IViews saved in Portal favorites - start of these shows no data

    Hi experts,
we have WebQueries that are executed in the Protal. After I get the output of the query I save the view under the portal favorites (Save as). This will be done correct. Unfortunately, if I click on the Portal favorite link I get no output.
The screen is complete empty. It seems the execution of the view runs in a endless loop.
Could you give me information to solve the problem and to get the view with all data ,please?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Marco

In the favourites you are saving  a link to start the iView, not the results of running the iView.  Let me give another example. If you run an iView that starts an SAP transaction and you enter some data and use the execute button, you see a report or whatever. Using the "Add to portal favourites" only adds the option to start the transaction - you still need to enter your values etc and use execute,
Try saving the portal favourite link before running the query and see what happens.

  • BW Bookmarks, favorites,  views, variants etc in EP, best practises

    Dear experts,
I've read a lot of discussions in these forums, but unfortunalty I haven't found an answer just yet. I'm looking for a "best practice" for the following scenario:
Using Portal Role upload, roles are uploaded into the portal and the iviews etc are created correctly. However, the iviews to the Web Queries, of course, are static. In other words, the URL to the BW Web reports is the same for every user.
Now, each (portal) user wants to modify an existing report and save the report with their specific settings (such as "booking period", "material list" etc). This can be done via the Save View button or the Bookmark button. But these end up in the BW system, not in the portal.
The buttons "Add to portal favorites" does not do the job as required either, since it doesn't save the bookmarked/personalized URL into the favorites, but the static one (the one created during the role upload) instead. The button "Add to favorites" adds the BW URL into the favorites and not the portal-BW URL.
So, what is the best way to provide the users the iviews/links just like they saved them?
    - create an iview that reads the bookmark id's from BW (table RSZWBOOKMARK) which als generates the portal-BW URL automatically?
    - modify the "Add to portal favorites" or "Bookmark" functionality to properply read the URL and add it to the portal favorites?
Platform is SAP EP 6.0.14 and BW 3.5.14
    Please advice, much obliged
    Marcel Rabe

    Hi all,
we actually came up with a very nice solution. It was build in BSP (I would have preferred webdynpro, but i wasn't the one who ended up building it).
The BSP reads the table RSWZBOOKMARK which we extended with an extra fields to store a description. Everytime a user clicks on the bookmark button a javascript is called that opens the BSP page. While this page is loading, the bookmark is stored in the table and is immediatly displayed in the BSP. the extra fiels allows us to add a description to the bookmark. So the BSP has an entry page and a display page, and it's very easy to program.
Using the style sheets of the portal is fits the corportate look and feel.
    Cheers

  • Problem with display/layout of Portal-Favorites

    Hi community
I've got a little display problem of the Favorites iView in the Portal.
Below you can see three different screenshots of the Portal Favorites. Please disregard the Links itself, the problem is in the border/layout of the whole thing.
    [Screenshot|http://www.schuess.net/images/Unbenannt.jpg]
The first picture shows the problem first hand.
In the second picture you can even see that the Favorites seem to be misplaced by 5px. Perhaps they have an absolute position to the browser window?
The third screenshot is the result of setting a border of 5px in the Theme Editor under
Tree -> Border. That's not as intended because a) theres this little 1px-line on the top-left and b) the tree-border stops at the end of the tree nodes.
Please tell me how I can make the Favorites-iView flush or which setting I have to change.
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hi dear reader
    My problem is solved.
The Favorites-iView-Property "Isolation Method" had to be changed from "URL" to "Embedded".
    Now it looks smooth
    Try on

  • How can i add a new link to Portal favorites?

    Hi,
I have created a portal application and configured it to a porta frame work page byy adding iViews and portal pages.
I would like to display an iView as a link in the  portal favorites. I have added it to portal favorites as related link. But nothing is displayed in the portal favorites when i logged in as application user.
How can i add a link to the created iView just like  the "DeveloperContent" link shown in portal favorites when we login as portal administrator?
    Your help and suggestions solicited...
    Best regards,
    Sudheesh

    Hi Sudheesh,
The Related Links option is for Content Administrators to add links that they think will be useful for a certain page or iView...an end user can't add their own links to the Related Links iView. Also, you don't need Knowledge Management installed in the Portal for the Related Links iView to work. Also, Related Links will be available only on the pages/iViews that the Content Administrator has created them.
Read more about Related Links here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e3/1d37600aa111d7b84700047582c9f7/frameset.htm
Portal Favorites is a nice option for end users to decide which iViews or pages they would like to be available from every Portal page.
To open new iViews/pages in a new window, rather than in the current Content Area, adjust the Workprotect mode of the portal (either the user can do it for their preference or the Administrator can do it for everyone):
