Reappearance of albums in photos app

Since updating my iPad mini (128gb retina mini) to IOS 8.1 this morning, my photos app has re populated its folders with albums that have been deleted long ago, when I open them they have pictures from the albums that have been synced when it last was connected to my Mac just over a week ago, is there anything I can do to sort this out, getting the albums back to what was sync'd and stop it happening again?
I'm not at home right now so a fresh sync is about a week away, any ideas?

I can't imagine how it would be possible for synced photos to reappear unless they were synced to the iPad again. If they have been deleted from the Mac, then it is even more astounding that photos that you no longer have on your computer could end up on the iPad. That is technically impossible.  I know that iCloud Photo Library Beta is part of the iOS 8.1 update, but I don't use, know nothing about it, and don't plan on using it. I only bring it up since other than The camera roll reappearance, that is the only other new feature in the photos app, AFAIK.

  • How do i delete "All Imported" pictures under "Album" under Photo App in iPad 2?

hi, i now have many photos in the All Imported folder under Album in Photo App in my iPad 2.   I don't seem to have a way either in Ipad 2 or in iTunes to DELETE / REMOVE these pictures?
can someone let me know how?

Yes, delete all the apps currently in iTunes, then transfer all the apps currently on the iPad back into iTunes. Of course it will take some time to sync the apps back into iTunes, but it satisfies your desire to remove all apps from iTunes that are not on your iPad without the need to laboriously note what is and is not there. In fact as a bonus after removing all the apps from iTunes you could open the ..\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications folder and delete any remaining orphaned files that might still be there, before you transfer purchases.

    Hi LoboCatholic,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are desscribing. I am not certain that this will address your specific issue, but if you are having photo organization issues in iOS 8 on your new iPhone 6, you may find the following article helpful:

  • How do I create titles for albums in Photo app?

When someone sends me photos in an email and I download them to my ipad2 they automatically appear in the native Photo App. When I tap Album they are grouped together with the title “Camera Roll” whatever that means. My question is: How to I change the title “Camera Roll” to a title of my choosing? I know how to do this in iPhoto on my MacBook Pro where most of my photos are grouped in “events” but have no idea how to do this on my ipad. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Photos that are emailed to you and saved to your iPad are automatically saved to the Camera Roll. You can not title the photos or albums on the iPad without using a third party app. The photo captioning ability is not built into the iOS. You can search the apps store but one app that I know of is called Photo-Sort for iPad. You can also organize and create folders for your photos with this app.

  • How does one delete or rename albums in Photo App for IPad2

I cannot locate the tools mentioned in the manual for deleting or renaming albums in the Photos App for Ipad2

What version of iOS do you have on your iPad ? If you have iOS 5+ then you should get an Edit button at the top right of the Album selection screen which allows you to create albums and delete those new albums - you can't directly delete albums that were synced from your computer, you have to remove those from your sync list and re-sync in order to delete those.

  • Deleting photos stored under photos, not albums in photo app

I want to delete the large number of photos in within my iPad's photo app stored under photos, NOT those organized under albums in this app. How do I do this? I have checked Apple discussions etc with no success. It is taking up a lot of space on my iPad!

The photos that are shown under the Photos tab in the Photos tab are the same as are shown under Albums - it's just a way of viewing all of your photos on one screen, they aren't separate copies of the photos. So if you delete a photo from the Photos tab in the app, it will also be removed from its album.
To delete a photo from the iPad, then if it was taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc then you can delete them either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon top right of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.
Note that if you've copied photos into new albums that you've created directly on the iPad, then effectively you've only created pointers to those photos and not created separate copies of them - so if you then delete the original photo, you will also be deleting all pointers to it (so it will be removed from all albums that you've 'copied' it into on the iPad).

  • How to delete album in photo apps?

A friend loaded 291 pics into Photo apps of my iPad from his mac. I am using Windows Vista, I would like to delete for ever all those pics. How to do it? Than k you.

Photos that were synced from a computer can only be deleted by re-syncing. So connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, and on the Photos tab that shows on the right-hand side of iTunes when you've selected the iPad 'device' on the left, either select a folder of your own photos to sync or just select an empty folder - as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad, when you sync your photos (or empty folder) the existing synced photos will be removed.

  • How do u make new albums in Photos app?

Only have one album, that which was set when I purchased iphone.  Want to start a new album and can't find any info in the user's guide online.  Thanks.

Albums on created on the computer that you use to sync the iPhone. You create a folder system on the computer and put photos in those folders that when synced back to iPhone become "albums."  IOS5 will allow direct creation of folders on the phone, apparently, which will simply all our lives.  But keep in mind that the current way of creating folders means that you KNOW that you have backups on your computer for the albums on your phone.

  • IOS4, iPhoto: How Do you Add a Photo in It's Own Album in the Photo App?

Hi. The updated to iOS 4 erased one of my albums where I had a photo of Mother Mary in green monochrome as my wallpaper (green and black look for the iPhone). How do I add a new album into Photo App, put the image in that album and set it again as my wallpaper using Setting App? Thank you in advance.
    (I'm using iPhoto, 10.6.4 and iMac i7 (8GB))

You create a new album in iPhoto, put whatever pictures you want in it, and then resynch to iPhone. You cannot create albums on the iPhone

  • How do I export an album from the iPhone Photos app in a form that retains location information so I can import it to ArcMap or Google Earth?

I have an iPhone 4S with OS 5.1 installed and I have taken several hundred photos that are geotagged and that show up in the Places page in the Photos app. These were taken for field work and have data in them that we want to use to tie information in the photos to locations in a GIS application. Therefore I would like to be able to export the mapped locations along with the photos in a way that would allow me to upload the locations to ArcMap or to Google Earth. I know that the individual photos have location information but the process of uploading them to Panoramio one at a time is labor-intensive, whereas I can take an entire album in the Photos application and quickly display locations tied to photos on the screen.
Also these photos were taken before I enabled iCloud on my iPhone and I'm wondering how to upload them even though they were taken previously. When I go into the "share" menu my only options are email, tweet, message, and print. I'd like to send the whole album to iCloud so I can at least bring it back into applications on my Macbook Pro.
Does anyone have a recommendation as to how I can go about doing either of these things?

This is something that I want to do as well. I'm new to applescript, but I found this script:
    http://www.bagelturf.com/aparticles/tips/tipprint/index.php
Go to about half way down the page. The script works well, but I'd like to change it so that I only export Versions w/ a specified "main rating" (or greater than a minimum rating)
If you look at the script, there's a line:
"set theimages to every image version as list"
FYI: "image version" is an Aperture class that represents an image version. "main rating" is a property of "image version"
Is there a way to modify this applescript statement to spec only those "image versions" that meet a min "main rating"? I tried a bunch of things, and none of them compiled. (I need to learn Applescript)
If not, then how could this be done w/ a little loop in Applescript?
    Thanks for your help!

Known bug.  Quit the Camera App, double-tap the home key and delete Camera from the recent apps bar. Fire it up again, should be good.
