Reappearing outdated api files

We use Autonomy Interwoven FileSite 8.5 and are having an issue with an outdated api file reappearing. Whenever we update/repair Acrobat, an old (dated 11/30/2007) api file shows up in C:\Program Files (x86)\adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins. The correct (06/15/2012) api file remains in the plug_ins\Interwoven folder but the outdated imanacrobat.api file also shows up. Having this outdated api file is causing us issues with saving PDF documents. If we manually delete the 2007 api file everything works well until the next Acrobat update, then it comes back again.
I have opened a support case with Autonomy and they are convinced that their software is not the problem. I have tested a repair when the computer is disconnected from the domain environment by disabling the network adapter so that I could make sure it wasn't getting the file from our network somewhere. The imanacrobat.api file keeps coming back. Using Procmon while repairing and watching the file recreate produced no pointers as to where this file is coming from. Searching the local registry does not find anything related to the api except for the pointer to the good one.       Anyone have any ideas as to why api files keep reappearing or how I can get rid of the problem?

The Interwoven API file is not part of Adobe Acrobat.  So the Acrobat installer should not have an effect upon a third party plug-in which uses a different installer.  It sounds like you or your IT department may have packaged the Interwoven API file with Acrobat.  Now normally when Acrobat repairs or updates it follows the Windows Installer Technology specification and references the MST file as part of the process and uses that to keep all of the customizations that you originally made to the MST and the MSI file as a package.  The question here is "How did you modify the Acrobat installer?"  Was it with the Adobe Customization Wizard?  Was it with a third party installer utility??

    Hi Bernd,
Thanks very much for your reply.  Based upon your assertion that "ReadOutLoud.api" is part of the "typical" Adobe Reader installation, I searched for and found how to activate and use it (from the "View" menu).  It couldn't be more simple - most operations like this are "really very easy" the *second and subsequent times* that you perform them. :-)))
thanks again, and best regards...   ...jkashn

  • Python API files

    Hi,
These (generated?) files are instrumental in library function names autocompletion or calltips or some such things. Some genius invented a killer name for them (pun intended). This API acronym virtually disables Google. I'd be most grateful for some relevant links. Expanded API acronym is welcome, too.

There are also cryptic boxes like 'Add from Installed APIs' and 'Add from Plugin APIs'. That's all I have to go on. I've got an impression that it is a Python feature, not Eric's.

  • Outdated numbers files in Time Machine Backups

I'm able to use Time Machine to backup my macbook wirelessly to an external hard drive attached to my iMac. However, I recently noticed that I am failing to back up the latest version of a numbers file.
Has anyone noticed any incomplete or outdated files - that shouldn't be - in their number file back ups?

Are you checking the files though finder or through TM and the dated desktops?
Using TM to check the latest dated desktop I have, the Numbers file is up to date.
The old versions of the files are also available to go back to if necessary.

  • Deleted folders reappear when downloading files

This is very strange.  I have one folder on my desktop that I've deleted 100's of times.  When ever I download a file from the internet and asked where to save the file -  this one particular folder reappears on the desktop.

OK - don't know how this will help the problem, but here's the folder in question.

  • Help! Distiller 9 API File Naming Question

Not well versed in options for distiller first off.
I would like to create a module that when a user is saving a pdf file :
1). user is prompted to scan the file name from a barcode
2). a suffix is added to the barcode scan, "-" + either including the users %username% + date/timestamp or from a serial increment file
    basically <barcodescan + "- " + suffix>.pdf for filenaming convention
    is this possible?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Trying to automate pdf file creation?  using distiller joboption with vbs..or am I going down the wrong route/
I was thinking along the lines of::  But... not sure how to incorporate that with the distiller for savng a file.  What we are doing is scanning in documents to create a pdf.  We want the file naming to be :  user scans with a scangun a order# from a barcode and then the a suffix to make it unique to the system is added to the file name.  the pdf file that was just created is then saved with that file name
    Sub GetFileName()
    Dim GetWorkOrder As String
    Dim SaveFile As String

  • Opening outdated exs files

couldn't find anything on this.....  i have logic 9 now, and a newer imac.  i decided to dig up a logic 7 project.  the exs file "mini lead" is missing.  i found it on my old hard drive, both the exs files and the sample folders mini lead 1 and 2.....  so, i went on the new imac, executed command shift g, and put them in library>application suppot> logic>pluggin settings>exs.......  i could not find an obvious place to put the audio files.
when i opened my project, i noticed that the mini lead did not appear in my preset list on the exs24, or in my channel strip presets when i tried putting the file in the channel strip folder.  so, i tried loading the mini lead exs from the synth module while the folder was in the aforementioned pluggin folder.  it was exactly the file the computer navigated to when i clicked on the "load" function in the esx24 menu.
my hope, is that this can be remedied by locating the audio folder where the samples for the patch belong.  (?)
if so, where is the sample library folder at now?
if not, is there a way to do this?

However, having said all that, as you asked..  the correct paths for exs stuff should be...

    and
Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments for the exs instrument presets themselves
There is also a second place for GB exs presets too..
Library/Application Settings/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files for GB exs samples
    and..
Library/Application Settings/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Instruments for the GB exs preset instruments
Note: These are all found in the Local Library found in the root of your System Hard Drive and not in the User Library....

  • Changing file type API to open with Adobe Reader 9.2

In windows XP, if I go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\plug_ins, it shows the API extension to be File Type AcroExch.plugin
This seems to be because Adobe Acrobat 5.0 is installed first on the PC, then Adobe Reader 9.2 is installed on the PC.
On a clean PC, if I install Adobe Reader 9.2, then the file type becomes API file.
How do I change the file type from AcroExch.plugin to API file?

I want to do this because I have a 3rd party plugin which will not work otherwise.
The 3rd party plugin is FileOpen Installer.
    http://plugin.fileopen.com
If Adobe Reader 9.2 is installed on the PC first, then the folder c:\program files\adobe\reader 9.0\reader\plug_ins looks like the attached JPG Adobe Reader 9 Plugin working.jpg
FileOpen Plugin works with the above situation.
Note that it is a 3rd party supplier which sends files which require the 3rd party Plugin FileOpen and a test document is here
    http://fileopen.bl.uk:8008/FileOpenFreeLink-1.0/entryPage.do;jsessionid=FADC8178CCD0236480 199338A79483E7
If Adobe Acrobat 5.0 is installed on the PC first and the Adobe Reader 9.2, then the folder c:\program files\adobe\reader 9.0\reader\plug_ins looks like the attached Adobe Reader 9 Plugin Problem.jpg and the test file sent by the British Library above will not open.
You get the following when you try to open the British Library test file (see British Library2.jpg)
FileOpen is installed as a 3rd Party Plugin in Adobe Reader 9.2 and I can see this under Help About 3rd Party Plugins FileOpen Installer.
(Note Adobe Acrobat 5 runs via a network install and is not installed onto the workstation so I can't remove it via Add/Remove Programs).
So I am guessing the problem is to do with the API file type being different when Adobe Acrobat 5 is installed first?
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Where to find file AForm32.api mentioned in Acrobat SDK?

    Hello everyone,
A paragraph under the following path in Acrobat SDK
"Acrobat Interapplication Communication > Interapplication Communication API Reference > Acrobat Forms Plug-In > Forms plug-in OLE automation"
suggests to place the AForm32.api file in the Acrobat's plug-ins folder:
    Quote:
Registration in the Windows registry (which is different from the class object registration described above) happens every time Acrobat loads the plug-in. Therefore, you must run Acrobat at least once with the AForm32.api file in the plug-ins folder before its type library can be found for object browsing within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment. This is also necessary in order to allow early binding. Declare the program variables as objects of the corresponding classes in AFORMAUTLib, and not simply as Object.
    Question:
Does anybody know where can I get the mentioned file AForm32.api ?
    Thank you.
    surotkin.

AForm32 is now AcroForm – it's the same thing.
However, I don't believe that we expose the COM APIs in the Standard edition – only in the Professional edition.

  • Office 365 Files REST API and chunked upload

    Hello,
I am currently working on integration with OneDrive for Business and I need to upload large files in chunks. I need to do something like  this but using
the O365 Files REST API. As far as I understand this is currently not supported.
Are there any plans to support
uploading in chunks? If yes, can you please provide some (rough) estimate?
    Thanks
    Andrey

Thank you for the quick answer!
We are trying to upload the files using javascript and we are currently working with this API:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/office365/api/files-rest-operations
We have also noticed that the roadmap for Office 365
http://roadmap.office.com/en-us contains SharePoint API Partial File Upload Support.
Does the update pointed in the roadmap refer to the API we are using? Or if you are saying we can already do chunked upload using it, can you please point us to a working sample?
    Thanks
    Andrey
