Rear sound goes to front speaker with DDL/DTS Connect (Xfi Platinum)

DRear sound goes to front speaker with DDL/DTS Connect (Xfi Platinum)T Hey there,
I just installed the newest modded driver from [url="http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/X-Fi-Auzen-2-20-0002-0-RC4-2-dated-5th-November-2009/td-p/540790">here[/url] and now I have the problem that when using DDL/DTS Connect (yes I have it activated!): the rear left channel gets output on my front left speaker, and the rear right goes to front right. My externaldecoder is correctly identifying the output stream as DD/DTS and the front speaker and subwoofer works fine. Also when using my Xbox 360 the sounds correctly get to the rear speakers, so this is likely not a problem of my decoder.
Anyone had a similar problem to this? Any idea why this happens?
My system:
Windows 7 x64
Intel Core2Quad Q6600
4 GB RAM
nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

H I noticed this doesn't just happen with DDL/DTS Connect. The same behaviour happens when I connect my headphones to the plugs on the back of my computer. The rear plugs don't output anything, while the front plugs have "double" output.
I tried all kinds of different drivers, always removing the previous ones and restarting before trying a new one. Right now I'm with the official 2.8.003 X-Fi driver.
Please, somebody help!

  • XP 64 bit - 5.1 - Rear Sound comes from front Speak

    Hi,
    i have upgraded from xp 32 bit to XP 64. I have a problem with my elite pro:
    This card ist playing now the 5. rear sound on the both front boxes. I'm extremly frustrated because i'm trying to solve this problem since 5 Hours. I have tried a lot of drivers - the rear sound comes from the front.
    Anybody any idea ?

    "You know, you could just walk behind your computer and switch the cables front and rear cables... "?Brilliant, that would make all sound come out the rears. Why didn't I think of that??I've cleaned and reinstalled, tried drivers without updates, updates without drivers, the best i can do id enable CMSS 3D and get a kind of *******ised stereo that i cam fade front to rear. I cannot get 5. separation with XFi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro under XP64 and 4gB RAM, and it REALLY pisses me off that I accidenetally helped the OP and I'm stuck with the same issue LOL.

  • Audigy 2 ZS - REAR sound comes from FRONT speak

    This is an odd one.
    My "surround sound" is busted. All sound meant for the rear speakers come out of the front speakers, even in the "Test Speakers" control panel where it says each channel. The ONLY place this works from is in the Speaker Calibration control panel, where it plays the test sounds and has you adjust the volume/balance between the LR/FB/center channels - the test music plays properly there - but that's the ONLY place.
    My setup used to work - and as far as I know nothing has changed, except maybe an updated SB driver.
    Any ideas?

    Just updated to the latest drivers and this is exactly what is happening to me. Anyone ever come up with a fix?
    With the help of another user, I figured it out.
    Do you by chance have a Logitech QuickCam Pro camera? If so, it is setting the audio hardware acceleration setting to "Basic". It can't be restored to Full without unplugging the camera, setting it to Full, then rebooting, or disabling the camera's automatic echo cancellation function.
    I hope this helps!

  • All sound goes to all speak

    Odd problem here...sound on a specific channel is played on all satellite speakers. It's louder on the appropriate satellite speaker and quieter on the other 5, but it's sent to all 6. Sound to the subwoofer is also played on all 6 satellites. I can test this most easily with the Creative Speaker Settings, cycling through the channels ("Front Left", etc, and the noise).
    Windows XP SP2
    Audigy 2
    Logitech X-620
    All drivers are up to date bar the graphics card drivers, which surely can't be relevant, and the IDE drivers, which SP2 won't allow for some reason (another problem, but not relevant to this one).
    I have no idea what the problem is. Any ideas?

    Angilion,
    Try this:
    Unplug all of the speaker connections except for the front speaker output. Keep the sound card set to 5. and then run the test. Did you hear front left/front right from all of the speakers but not any of the other channels, or did you hear all of the channels from the front left/front right speakers with the front ones being louder?
    If you heard only front left/front right from all your speakers then the problem with your speakers. If you heard the other channels then the problem is with the sound card and you will want to get your card repaired/replaced. If it was normal (you only heard front left/front right from the front left and front right speakers) then move to using the rear input in the rear speaker jack. Repeat the test listening for rear right/rear left. Let us know what happens.

    Check what you upgraded/updated lately (PulseAudio upgrade to 5 brought some problems for several users, for example). Here is some information on surround mapping channels in alsa. You could try remapping in alsa, although I doubt alsa developers would just change surround devices, unless it is a new card. You provided so little information, that I can only speculate.

  • No Volume Control For DDL & DTS Connect with XtremeMusic under Win7

    ? I have an X-Fi XtremeMusic PCI card with Windows 7 (32-bit).
    I'm using the latest SB X-Fi XtremeMusic drivers for Win7 including hotfix.
    I've installed "Dolby Digital Li've & DTS Connect" and it works fine under Windows 7 32-bit, except for one thing. I totally lose software control of volume in Windows when in digital DTS/DD mode. No matter what I set volume level at, it is always sounds?the same (probably max). The only way to control it is manually at my receiver box. If I don't use DTS or Digital Dolby, I can control volume just fine (even in the classic digital PCM mode). My default playback device?under "Manage Audio Devices"?is the?SB X-Fi speakers. However I've tried every combination possible in the audio control panels and nothing will get that volume to work right. So this appears to be a bug in either the digital addon pack or the drivers for Win7. Can anyone else confirm this or possibly have a fix?

    K This shouldn't be the case. There's no reason why it can't handle volume control before encoding it into the DD/DTS?signal. PCM digital?works fine with volume. So the problem is somewhere with the addon pack. I have another computer which outputs Dobly Digital and volume is no problem on it. Of course it doesn't use a SoundBlaster.

  • Audigy 4 rear audio comes from front speake

    Whenever I caolibrate my speakers they work fine. However, when I go into speaker settings all of the rear right audio comes from the front right and rear left comes from the front left. I'm using the analog outs on my sound card. I've uninstalled the drivers and disabled my onboard sound. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the card, reset the defaults in the console, and updated the drivers. The only peripheral I have hooked up is a Fellowes brand mouse. I checked the outs on the sound card itself and audio only comes out of the front out, the green jack. I've seen that some people have problems with the drivers not working because the sound card is not recognized, but my computer recognizes it as and Audigy 4.

    Actually, this is the situation w/ Audigy 2 (6. card) too --> something strange w/ output channel mapping:
    Speakers set to 6/6., CMSS OFF, 5.2.8.64 drivers. This PC has only GB or RAM.
    With WDM, WDM/KS and Asio4All (uses WDM/KS functionality) drivers, output channels are mapped as:
    /2 ==> Front L/R
    3/4 ==> Front C/Sub L/R
    5/6 ==> Rear L/R
    7/8 ==> Front L/R
    when expected would be
    /2 ==> Front L/R,
    3/4 ==> Rear L/R
    5/6 ==> Front C/Sub L/R
    (7/8 ==> Front L/R) ?
    <i>With both Creative ASIO drivers channels are mapped as expected:
    Front L/R = Front L/R
    Rear L/R = Rear L/R
    Front C/Sub L/R = Front C/Sub L/R
    </i>

  • Asus Xonar DGX no rear sound / mic. Front panel sound/mic ok. [SOLVED]

    Hi guys,
    I have a ASUS Xonar DGX PCI-E GX2.5 sound card since my onboard audio crapped out on my motherboard. I just did a first time install on my desktop and the rear portion of my card refuses to work. If I connect up my speakers to my analog output in the back I don't have any options in my sound manager for the analog output to just be a 2.0 system. I get 4.0, 4.1, 5.0, 5.1. All of which do not work obviously. Also my microphone doesn't work plugged into the actual card. If I plug them into the front panel audio, both the microphone and headphone out work. I did some searching, and it seems like a likely cause has something to do with amixer being multichannel. I tried several commands but wasn't successful in getting the audio to work through the back. Any help would be useful, I'm still trying to learn a lot about Arch while doing all this. Thanks in advance!
    Solution. Using Alsamixer in terminal and selecting the analog out as stereo headphones, instead of stereo headphones (fp).

    Search for vid and pid combination, ergo 13f6:8788 in your case. This should be one of the search terms, vid and pid could be also separated, other search terms could include oxygen, sonar, dgx and so on. Simple google search should turn something up.
    Edit: The point is to locate a thread/post where the support for this card was implemented/talked about. It could provide some further insight.
    The simplest approach would be to download linux-rt sources from aur with yaourt, modify PKGBUILD, compile and then install.
    yaourt -G linux-rt
    cd linux-rt
    Copy this into PKGBUILD replacing the original:

  • Not getting sound out of a speaker with my Zen Xt

    I've had my Zen Xtra for 5 months. I've enjoyed it every day. But today, I began listening to it and to my surprise, no sound came out of the right speaker! It wasn't my headphones, as I soon found out. It is my Zen Xtra. I've read around this site and found to my great disappointment that there is nothing that can be done about this. This obviously didn't make me too happy, as it seems that I spent a good deal of money on a portible hard dri've. I've heard of things like this happening before with creative MP3 players. In fact, I've had two of my friends who had the same thing happen with their Zen Micros. I don't know how commonly this happens, but I'd assume it happens enough if you said something about it in the FAQ. This is a major blow to my customer satisfaction. I figure I've got a few options:
    ? Return my Zen Xtra for an insane fee (about half the price of it minimum) for it to be repaired, although this shouldn't have ever happened
    ? Attempt to fix it myself, which probably won't turn out too well
    ? Li've with it, but no longer recommend it to anyone or show it off in public again, and slowly save up for a product that works better
    Gi'ven my options, I'll probably just li've with it, but seriously Creative, this is a problem on your part if it keeps happening very often. More than one person that I know has been swayed never to buy MP3 players from you again. Don't get me wrong, they are great. But you're obviously messing something up with the headphone jack.
    Oh, and if anyone knows of a way to fix this, please help me do so.

    The early Xtras and Micros are well known for developing this fault, although at what level it's hard to say.
    I'm not sure where you are (or not) in the warranty period, but even if out of warranty I would contact Creative and point out this is a known fault. If you get nowhere with this you can attempt a repair, but I would strongly recommend only those with surface mount soldering experience try it. There's a page here on how to do the repair, but I'm having problems loading it at the moment. So it may not exist any more.

  • Sounds still plays through speaker with headphones plugged in

    I've recently been having problems with my sounds. I would plug headphones into one of headphone jacks on my HP dv6tse laptop and i would hear sounds through my headphones as well as my speakers. So basically I'm getting sounds from my headphones as well as my speakers at the same time when only my headphones should be getting the sound. Is this a hardware problem or some kind of settings problem? Please help!

    same issue, i have a hp pavilion dv6 6169sl

  • No rear sound 4.1 Vi

    Just a few days ago I had all my speakers working fine. All the sudden one day none of them work. Reinstalled the drivers and now only have the front two channels and sub. I can not get the rear two speakers to work. I have completly uninstalled the drivers and any associated programs for Creative, and reinstalled the proper drivers for vista 32bit. Can anyone direct me on what I should do to get all 4 channels to work again?

    Have you tried plugging your rear speakers into the front speaker jack in your sound card to check whether they are still operational or not
    Do you have any other audio-related devices installed on your system (webcams, headphones, USB audio devices, etc.) If so, can you list them
    Is your motherboard audio enabled or disabled
    Giving a list of what hardware you have in or connected to your system will help us troubleshoot your problem.

  • DDL and DTS connect pack compatibility

    Does anyone know if DDL & DTS connect pack is compatible with Windows 7?
    Thanks

    I had to run the DDL pack installer in Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode to make it install (overrides OS detection). Otherwise I have no problems with it. I don't use the Windows 7 beta drivers because they suck, use the latest official Vista drivers until Creative releases a new set and you should be [email protected]

  • XP x64, all surround speaker signals going to front speakers

    Wanted to document an issue I found while trying to use my audigy 4 card with XP x64. Yes, I know you are probably looking at my spec at the bottom and asking why use XP x64. Or why after spending so much money on the pc, could you not afford a better sound card? Or why not use the on-board audio?
    Well I am awaiting to upgrade the sound card until a few more HDMI enabled cards come to the marked this year. Also I wanted to play some older games that support eax (which my on-board audio does not support fully) and did not want to go through setting up the emulation stuff in Vista.
    Anyway after getting the OS setup, I started looking at the sound setup and discovered that all but the two front speakers are not working. If set to 7. in audio console and windows audio panel then the signals to the side and rear speakers either don't work or come out of the front two speakers.
    Odd I thought since vista, I am using on my another hard disk (I just select which HDD I want to boot from at boot), using the same driver version, the sound works perfectly (so not a hardware or cabling issue).
    I tried drivers:
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
    SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
    SBAX_PCDRVBETA_US_2_8_000.exe
    In that order. All gave the same results. Did the normal things like driver cleaning etc.
    Then just for a laugh after hearing about old resolved issues with the drivers on systems with more than 4 Gb's of Ram, I removed some of my memory. And low and behold when only one? of the 3 channels of 2 Gb of memory is installed then it all works, full surround is back. But with 2 channels for a total of 4 Gb or 3 channels for a total of 6Gb of ram, I get this problem of only getting sound from the front two speakers.
    When I get the time I will try installing XP x32 to see if it not being able to all of my memory will help. Will post if it makes any difference.

    @Re: XP x64, all surround speaker signals going to front speakers& Same hell to me with my old Audigy 2 Value. Rear was redirected to front, and center was upmixed with front, all in 5. nati've mode. Stereo surround worked well although. In my old mobo, Asrock Dual Sata 2 had an option to disable the 4Gb ram detection. Although I had 3Gb, with this option disabled I only accessed 2,8 Gb, no big deal. I survi'ved. But with my new Asus M3A32-MVP there was no option to disable 4Gb detection, and for that, the issue is always present in XP x64.
    It's driver compatibility with XP x64. That's all. Audigy driver can't handle it in XP x64. In Vista/7 is fixed, but not in Windows XP x64 Edition. I tried the same steps that you did, with the same results. XP 32 bit worked well, because it also didn't recognize the full RAM.
    The funny thing is I contacted CL tech support and they said all worked well for them. Furthermore EAX effects doesn't wok either (check F.E.A.R. for example).
    Sorry, CL tech support HAS TO fix this. I don't know why they have forgotten XP x64 users.

  • No rear sound with SB PCI

    Hello all,
    I have a SB PCI 28 (CT4750) since a long time and I never succeeded in making it working with front and rear sound. I found some threads dealing with this problem but the solutions proposed didn't worked.
    The situation is:
    - the card is well connected to a 4. system with 2 cables
    - i'm under Windows XP, i have set sound speaker configuration to quadriphonic
    - with the latest drivers update (SBPCI_WebDrvsV5_2_0.exe) no sound come from rear speakers.
    - with the other drivers proposed (SBPCI28Setupus_w2k.exe, recommended by some threads about pci 28 problems) i have a little sound from rear but all sounds (front and rear) are of a very bad quality.
    Does anyone could help please?
    (sorry for my bad english)

    Hey,
    I've been having the same problem. I also have a SB PCI28 (Model CT4750) and I have tried both drivers as well with the same results. The SBPCI_WebDrvsV5_2_0.exe driver works the best but I am unable to get rear sound to work. The SBPCI28Setupus_w2k.exe driver fixes the problem of getting the rear channels to work but the sound quality is bad. It sounds as though it skips and pops randomly (5 - 60 second intervals) when playing music and doesn't sound the greatest when playing games.
    There HAS to be a solution to this. A driver that totally works or a setting change?
    Does anyone have a solution?
