Reason 6.5.1 Rewire

Anyone uses Reason with Logic 9.1.7 ?
I just bought Reason 6.5. It works fine when it is in stadalone mode, but when I rewired it from Logic, there's a massive latency problem. I've tried adjusting different buffer size from Logic....but no luck.
I've tried 32bit and 64bit in both Logic and Reason...and the midi latency is so bad.
anyone has the same issue?
OSX 10.7.4
2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 8G 800 MHz DDR@- FB-DIMM
Thx!

Is it possible to bounce the rewire track in Logic? I would like to create using Reason sounds in Logic, but them only use Logic program to mix the song. Is this possible?

There you will find what you need. It´s too long to suscribe it here. You have to do changes in Logic and in Reason.

  • No sound in Garageband after rewiring Reason to it

    Hello all,
i hope someone knows the answer to the following.
I am using Reason 3 with a rewired track to Garageband 3. (GB 3 is my host application)
When I press play in GB, both GB and Reason start running, which they should do because they are rewired. But, whatever I try, I can't seem to get the Reason track sounding within GB.
    Any suggestions here?
    thanks!

    Howdy,
I am sorry for this post, I am kinda new at all of this ReWire lingo.
I am glad I came across this post. I am having the same problem. I load GB 3 first. Then, I load Reason 3. I can hear the synthesizer in GB, but I also hear the piano setting. When I try to record I can hear the synth from Reason in GB, but when I playback I just hear piano?!?!
This may sound crazy, but I can NOT find my "Ableton Live" folder to delete. I have tried using the path through the Application Support, and it is NOT there!?
    Am I taking crazy pills?
    hope you can help.

  • GB and REASON are not syncing up via rewire... HELP!

Hello. I open GB, then Reason... however, rewire does not seem to work and Reaon does not recognize GB as it's slave. I am unable to link GB with Reason. How do I fix this or figure out what's wrong?

As far as I know, GB only works as a master with
    Reason being the slave.
Thanks... so I should open GB, then Reason?

  • Cant rewire reason 5 to Logic 9 after Mavericks update

    Hi there,
I am using Logic Pro 9.1.8 and Reason 5 and was having no trouble rewiring Reason to Logic untill I updated to Mavericks OS, after which Reason simply doesn't rewire to Logic anymore. I tried running Logic in 32 bit as well as 64 bit mode but it has't made any difference - I start Logic and then Reason (normal rewiring proceedure), but Reason is running independent and not rewiring.
Any ideas what I could do to fix this?

  • Help Needed with Rewire - Reason

    Hi guys
really need help with this 1.
I have been trying to route reason to logic for the past few days using Logic 7.2 and Reason Intel update.
I must add firstly that I have had this running but now there seeems to be something wrong.
I am doing all the usual like creating a Rewire oject that is routed to an arrange track.
I have everytinng ready in Reason and everyting seems to be working ok with even the output levels / note on etc etc showing there is activity.
Also Logic Rewire seems to be set right with reason selected and the rewire program and i can select the seperate devices within reason under the channel selector.
I just cant get any audio to com e through to logic when I program in notes, or do basically anything.
Routing the Rewire L + R channel to a audio track is ok this is why it is really blaggin my head.
    Please please help some1
    Many thanks

That's way too much code. Next time please post an SSCCE
when I run the testClearTable() method i get the following exception
    Exception
occured at clearTable: java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver found
    for jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1/onlineExamTable cleared!
You're trying to call DriverManager.createConnection(...) when the connection URL you're passing in is not valid for any driver you've loaded. So either your Class.forName to load the driver failed, or you loaded the wrong driver, or you messed up the syntax of the connection URL--each driver has its own syntax.
but evenso the test is returned as successful and the table does get cleared.. but why do i get the exception?Don't know. Not gonna read that much code.

  • Logic Pro X and Reason 7 Rewire Sync Issues

    Hello,
I'm running logic pro X (V10.07) and Reason V7.01 (in rewire slave mode).
My drum tracks come from reason, and I've recorded bass and guitar in logic.
My issue: When I play back the track FROM LOGIC, the drums are out of sync with the music. It's in the milliseconds but definitely noticeable and makes everythign sound...off.
Oddly, when I play back the track from Reason (I start it using the Reason transport, rather than Logic Pro X), the track sounds fine.
I've attached a screenshot of my Logic Pro X preferences. Not sure what to do here -- when I bounce the track down, it's the same as if I start it from the logic transport (i.e. the music and beats are out of sync).

Resolved. Turns out my version of Reason needed an update.

  • Using Reason in ReWire Mode

    Hi guys,
I'm having trouble getting Reason to work in ReWire.
I've checked a tutorial on YouTube and followed it to the letter but there is one part which doesn't seem to be working for me.
Namely, when creating an External MIDI track the video shows Reason listed in the browser window for Logic under "Library", which is then chosen, along with the relevant Reason Instrument for the External MIDI channel.
My browser doesn't show this at all, just the generic Logic sample library.
When I launched my session I was sure to open Logic first, and looking at Reason the Hardware Interface is showing "ReWire Slave Mode"
    What am I missing?
I'm running Logic 9.1.3 and Reason 3.0.5 and on my MacBook Pro listed in my sig.
    Thanks for any help

Use method 2 to help you set up Reason and Logic.
Also you might want to upgrade from Reason 3.0 to 3.0.4.
    good luck.

  • "Multiple Tempo Events Detected" -- Propblem with Logic and Reason

I have just migrated from a MacBookProp to a MacPro. All seems well except for the rewiring of Reason. When I rewire, I get the error message in Logic "Multiple Tempo Events Selected" asking if I want to review the list. Since no song is open in Reason, this would appear to be some kind of glitch. Also, there is a huige amount of latency between Reason and Logic. When I have just Reason open, there is no latency at all when I play. the same in Logic when I create a software instrument. But in rewire mode, it is about half a second! Any advice and help would be appreciated.

Update on this: the tempo issue was relegated to one project where there was a tempo change within Logic, so I apologize. But I still have a tremendous amount of latency between the two programs.

  • Midi Delay when Using Rewire?

I am experiencing really bad midi delay when using
    LE7.1 & Reason 3.0 in Rewire mode.
Should this be happenening? I take it that I am setup properly for rewire or I would not hear anything at all. I can trigger Reason synths via LE in rewire mode but the delay is so bad that it is unplayable.I thought "latency" issues only occured when using audio. I have tried different buffer sizes to no avail.
    Any ideas?

ok I'll answer my own post.
Issue was a toggle box in LE prefs to control "Rewire Behaviour". Set it to "Live mode" not "Playback" mode solves this issue.

First, you don't need to do anything with the Environment if you don't need to send MIDI TO Live. If all you want is to get audio FROM Live, follow these instructions:
    1. Create a new track in the Arrange window. You should be given the option to create a ReWire track. If so, select it. Your new track appears in the arrange.
    2. In the parameters window on the left of screen, you'll see a value called "Channel". Click and hold, then select "Audio", then "Rewire", then "Ableton Live", then "Mix L/R"
    3. Now launch Live. Any audio you play should be piped into Logic via the channel you created.
If you need to control Live via MIDI from Logic, all you need to do is create a Rewire object in the Environment, call it "Live", and change the "Device" parameter (again in the parameters box on the left of the screen) to "Live" and change the "Bus" parameter to whatever device you want to control within Live (or Reason, or any other Rewire slave). This is detailed on page 238-239 of the Logic Pro manual, which is available here (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/LogicPro7_ReferenceManual.pdf).
Sorry that I'm not in front of Logic at the moment, and some of the names of things might be slightly different. But this should get you started.

  • Syncproblem Logic Pro with reason or Abletonlive

Setting up a loop (4 bars) in reason or live running rewire with logic pro. It doesn´t loop correctly. (when the loops starts over again it "hops" or misses out the begining.)
    All software is the latest.

It's still me, but hey ..
I'm sure Stefy, willing to spend 700 quid on Logic Pro, was not planning on using the build in speakers of any laptop to do music. If so: Wrong. You can however use the build in analog (or digital) output to hook up to a stereo or to active monitors, they aren't bad at all. I've done it myself a few times when on the road.
As for soundcards, I can warmly recommend the new tc Konnekt series. The mic pres are really good for the price (and I use Neve, SSL, Fairchild, Neumann and the like when it comes to pres on a daily basis, just so you know where I come from), and generally they seem quite solidly build and the drivers too (even though the GUI is a bit, ehm, quirky).
Express vs. Pro. Well. You do get some some quite good Logic-only plugs with Pro that aren't there in Express and with the intel based portables you can actually USE these plugs too. There's a few features that I really like in Pro that aren't in Express too. Strip Silence, Curve Tool, those sorts of things. That being said, having to deal with the XSKey sticking out the side of your laptop is a bit hairy, so what I do is I run Express when on the road-on the road, and Pro (XSkey and a couple of iLoks) when stationary-on the road (so to speak). Luckily, the two haven't got any probs whatsoever opening each other's songs. In fact, I've had clients come over with sketches they'd done in GarageBand and both Logics open them NP as well.
It would be good to know what you're actually planning to use Logic for, Stefy. Then it's much easier to advice you.

  • LPX and Rewire

I can not get LPX to rewire with Reason. Worked fine with LP9. Any suggestions?

I have just been dealing with the same issue. Reason 7.0.1 ReWires to Logic 9 but not Logic Pro X. I went into Preferences for LPX and went to Audio and found the ReWire Behavior and set it to Live Mode. I Clicked apply and it still didn't work. I ended up quiting and relaunching Logic Pro X and it started working.

  • MIDI feedback loops

Per a different thread discussion, I've started using Plogue Bidule to host most of my Audio units and I'm using IAC to send MIDI from MainStage to Blogue.
However, I frequently get popup dialogs warning me that there is a MIDI feedback loop and I'm prompted to "go online" or "stay offline". I'm doing the latter and everything works fine but I'm wondering how to fix this problem (or at least get rid of the dialog).
I'm not near the machine at the moment but I'm wondering if MainStage is automatically receiving MIDI back from those IAC ports and just blindly sending events out again? If that's what's happening, I can probably create some more dummy MIDI devices and associate them with those ports but it's a pity to have to do this.

This doesn't really answer your question, but I am using Reason with MainStage through rewire and can remote control reason fine with MIDI. Once I launch Reason I can create an external instrument channel strip in MainStage. Then I can set the port to Reason and choose a channel, and then map one of my knobs to send a specific midi controller on this external channel strip. Then Reason receives this midi controller whenever I turn the knob on screen. I imagine you should be able to do something pretty similar with Live in slave mode...
