Reasons for Add a combined query being grayed out?

I want to create a combined query but the option is grayed out. This report is a duplicate of an already existing document. I have checked that all the queries in this document are based on the same universe. Are there any other reasons that this may be the case? I have tried creating a document from scratch and the option to combine the queries is available to me.

Do you perhaps have "scope of analysis" set on the data provider? You can check by counting the number of objects visible on the query panel and then open the SQL and see how many select values there are. I have seen cases where the scope of analysis (which adds extra dimensions to the query in an invisible fashion) interferes with the combine queries option.
Note that normally you can check the scope by clicking the appropriate button on the query panel toolbar and invoking the scope panel. However, I have seen some cases where objects are in the SQL even without showing up on the scope panel... it's worth a check.

  • Function Add a combined query

    Hello,
I created two different universes based on a SAP BEx query. I can create reports with WebI based on both universes thats no problem.
If I want to create a combined query based on that 2 universes it is not possible the button "Add a combined query" is not available. Does anybody know when this will be available? Or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks for your reply.
    Kind regards,
    Jule

Ok, could you please try the following:
    1. Import the universe which you want to use.
    2. Go to File>Parameters>SQL tab.
    3. Check the checkbox for "Allow use of union, intersect and minus operator".
    4. Save and export that universe.
Then if the problem persists, could you please test if the issue occurs with the administrator account?

  • The textbox for setting a start page is grayed out, and I cannot change the start page.

When I go to Options form, the textbox for "Mozilla Firefox Start page" is grayed out, and unchangeable. If I navigate to a page, then set that as my start page, closing and restarting Firefox reverts back to the Firefox/Google startpage - my home page setting is not being saved.
I have tried resetting Firefox, restarting with add-ons disabled, even deleting and recreating a new profile, but it still does this.

Well, I lack the sufficient administrator privileges to uninstall the current install of Firefox, but - oddly enough - not to install a new copy to another folder.
So I installed the software, and viola - it worked!
    Thanks!

If Wi-Fi is greyed out, it is not possible to backup to iCloud.
If the device is backed up to iTunes and contacts, calendars, notes, etc are synced to a supported application or cloud service, and media and pictures are on the computer, then a restore will not cause any data to be lost.

  • Want to forward ports, but 'add' and 'default host' are grayed out! help!

Hey folks. Configuring my laptop to access a new airport express plugged in one floor below me. great signal connection works fine, but of course it isn't forwarding ports i want... so I go to set it up... now, the owner of the house set it up first, but he told me the password so I could futz with it... now when i pull up the base station config in airport admin, the relevant options are grayed out! The whole section in which default host option is located is grayed out, as are all the buttons e.g. 'add' on the forward ports tab! I've tried doing all the tricks I can think of; if anyone has any insight as to where to look to fix this, I'd appreciate it enorm.

Copy these commands into TextEdit, replace the bracketed part with your username and the quoted parts with the ext HD's name, retaining the quotes.
sudo chflags 0 /Volumes/"name of ext HD"
sudo chmod a+rx /Volumes/"name of ext HD"
Launch the Terminal app in /Applications/Utilities, copy and paste the first one into the window that pops up, and hit the return key. When the Password: prompt pops up, carefully type in your admin password, since nothing shows on the screen, and hit the return key. Copy & paste the other two, one at a time, following each with hitting the return key. You won't get the password prompt, since the initial one's good for five minutes.
Quit the Terminal app and you should be able to read and write to the ext HD.

  • Can't select videos for upload. All files are grayed out.

Ever since Safari 8, I am no longer able to upload videos to places like Amazon (for submitting video reviews.)
When I write a review on Amazon and choose Video Review as the review type, then click on the "Choose file" button, the files listied in the file selection window that opens are all grayed out. None can be selected. This only happens in Safari. I can use Chrome and Firefox with no problems.
    Anyone else seen this?
Any ideas how to get this working?
I've reported it as a bug to Apple a month ago and was hoping the recent 10.10.2 Yosemite update would fix it but it didn't.

I see what you mean Michael ..
Might be a cookies, cache, extensions, or plug-ins issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, from the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • Help with Sign Document button being grayed out

I am using Abobe X Pro and I am having an issue with the Sign Document button. When I am signing a document sometimes the 'sign document' button is grayed out. I am still able to use the 'place signature' button and once I click the 'place signature' button then the 'sign document' becomes active again and is no longer grayed out. This happens randomly. Most times I am able to use both the sign document and place signature buttons but randomly the 'sign document' button is grayed out. Even when opening the same exact file sometimes the 'sign document' button is grayed out and sometimes it isn't.
    What could possibly cause this?

hello gram2many, if you are having problems with the default flash installer, try it with this offline package (direct link to .exe on adobe's server): http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe

  • Is there a fix for the back page/forward page suddenly being grayed out?

I looked at the blog pages.. Seems 70 people have reported this problem. They page forward/back worked when i installed the upgrade and now it doesnt. Is there a fix for this that can be easily done?

First please update you browser from Firefox 3.6.9 to Firefox 3.6.15.
    To update Firefox-
    1. Click Help Menu and select Check for Updates.
    2. Let Firefox check for Updates and download them.
    3. Install the update when prompted by clicking Install Update or Apply Update.
    4. Repeat steps 1-3 till no other updates are found.
After updating Firefox you should be using Firefox 3.6.15. Check if the issue persists.

  • Cannot find color categories to add to outlook; they are grayed out.

Following the help info does not help as the color category seems to not be functioning. It is not in the ribbon and not in the right click for messages.  Also how do I add colors to the flags?  What am I missing?

    Diane,
As I stated in my previous post:
    1. "With outlook 2007 I was able to right click and choose my categories, with outlook 2010 (64 bit on WIndows 7 64bit)
when I right-click on categories column the contextual menu has no categories but simply the grayed option "Clear All Categories"."
    and
    2. "In order to set the category I found a workaround (but it's very time expensive), you need to click left on the category
column, Outlook will set the "one single click" category, then open the email and right click on the category color just above "from" field, now Outlook displays all categories availables."
For sentence 1.: that means that Office 2010 doesn't do a thing that Office 2007 did, so for me it's a regression.
From sentence 2.: derives that Office 2010 supports categories for IMAP. In my humble opinion the impossibility to set the category directly from mail list view is a bug.
    Regards,
    Massimo

  • In the download box, the check box for "always do this for this type of file" is grayed out for the type of file I want, and that application does not appear in the application menu, so how do I set it to perform this function every time?

The file type in question is InCopy, and the download box acknowledges that program as the type to open it with, but I never want to open it; I always want to save it. This feature works fine with other file types, but not with InCopy. I download thousands of files, so automating this is very important.
