Reasons why I should get an iPhone

Hi,
I'm an eleven year old boy and I really need help convincing my family to let me get an iPhone. I really need reasons to justify it and anything would help.
Thanks

In order to post on this froum, users need an Apple ID.  In order to get an Apple ID, users need to enter a birthdate prior to today's date in the year 2000.  Come back in two years and we'll be happy to discuss it with you.

  • Any reason why I should use Safari on my PC

I use Mozilla now. I now have an Iphone. Is there any reason why I should download and use Safari on my PC? I expect the functions will be different from IE or Mozilla or maybe better, but is it a good idea to download and use since I have an Iphone?

It's pretty irrelevant, unless you really want to sync bookmarks from your computer to your iPhone (you could do that with IE as well, but not Firefox).

  • Why do I get other iphones contacts from my itunes account on my phone?

Why do I get other iphone contacts from my itunes account on my phone?  I get my wife and son's contacts in my iphone.  I do not want.  I have tried cloud and no cloud that only provides all the contacts or empty file of contacts.

What laptop are you refering to? Did the drive crash or is the laptop dead? Is the computer you want to transfer to a mac with Itune?  If the other computer has Itunes, there are third part software that can transfer music and some file off an ipad to Itunes. Not sure about the Iphone. If you sync to another Itunes in another computer it will erase the ipad and install whatever is on the other Itunes. One of the third part apps. that comes to mind is Irip. Phone to Mac is another.

  • HT201210 I am getting an error message 2003 as the reason why itunes cannot restore my iphone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    HI
I tried installing ios7 via itunes. It took a back up of the iphone no problem, then installed ios7. When I went to restore the iphone the last back up was not the one done today. When i tried to restore it I got and error message 2003 which is not listed on the useful information list of error messages.
I would realy appreciate it if anyone could throw some light on what has happened and suggest anything that might help
    thanks

Well, it is indirectly addressed in that list.  These suggestions should assist:
    Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you're using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that doesn't resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.

  • Reasons why you should quit smoking

    Maybe once, maybe more...
You started out feeling the time was right, but for whatever reason, you're smoking again. Now, you're asking whether it's worth it to try quitting again. You bet it is!
Smoking is a dangerous and self-destructive habit. Various poisons contained within tobacco smoke cause or contribute to cancer of the mouth and lungs, heart problems, emphysema, gum disease and a variety of other physical diseases.
Cigarette smoking is the most preventable cause of premature death in the United States . That’s important! Want evidence of the dangers of smoking?
    Consider these statistics:
A smoker’s risk of heart attack is more than twice that of nonsmokers. Cigarette smoking is the biggest risk factor for sudden cardiac death -- smokers are looking at two to four times the risk of nonsmokers. Studies have shown that cigarette smoking is also an important risk factor for stroke. The evidence also indicates that chronic exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (secondhand smoke, passive smoking) may increase the risk of heart disease.
Most smokers sincerely want to quit. They know cigarettes threaten their health, set a bad example for their children, annoy their acquaintances and cost an inordinate amount of money.
Nobody can force a smoker to quit. It's something each person has to decide for himself., Sometimes the cigarette is used as a tranquilizer.. Once a smoker understands his own smoking behavior, he will be able to cope more successfully and select the best quitting approaches for himself and the type of life-style he leads.
Quitting is hard, but don't give up!
Quit smoking Now! For better Life,,!!!

With what I see now, I suggest that you wait a little bit, unless you can't , before buying your macbook pro. Here are the reasons:
-You plan on using boot camp as I can see, but I think it would be better for you to wait that Apple includes it in their next installement of Tiger (Leopard I think?). You would be certain that the program would work correctly.
-For the heat issue, maybe that if you wait that they get out a second and revised version of the macbook pro, the problem won't be there anymore (But we don't really know yet if the 17" macbook pro doesn't have this issue anymore).
But it's not really important, if you are alright with the heat and that you don't care about bugs with boot camp, buy one now.
For the size of the screen, I suggest that you go with a 15" MBP. From all the uses you told me you are going to make of it, I think you don't need to spend more bucks for a 17" MBP.
Unless you wish to have more space on your screen when you are using photoshop. The main advantage of a bigger screen is for the editing of movies with an editing program like Final cut Pro. Depends on your likeness.
But I have to tell you, if you plan on buying the MBP with the best specifications (2gigs of ram, 2,16gigahertz processor, 100gb 7200rpm), buy the 17". It's $100 cheaper! You can do the comparison for yourself in the internet store. But if you don't want your notebook to take too much space, then you'll have to buy the 15".
I hope this helped you out! Remember, it's up to you to choose, I just told you things to help you decide.

  • Can someone tell my why I cant get my Iphone to connect to Itunes

Having trouble getting IPhone to connect to Itunes

Unless you provide more details, we would just be guessing.
    Let's start with the obvious.....
Your computer is turned on, correct?
The iPhone is powered on, correct?
You plugged the cable into the iPhone and the computer, correct?

Launch iTunes on your computer, log into your account information and you will see what the charge was for.

  • Explain to me why I should get another iPod

My son's iPod's headphone jack no longer works. Apple repaired this about a year ago (for a sizable fee) and now they tell me that I'm better off buying a new one because the cost will be about $250 to repair it AGAIN.
We also had to replace the battery at a sizable fee awhile back.
Toss in the fact that my own iPod has never worked right, but that's another story.
So now I'm at the point where I'm being asked to shell out money to buy another likely-defective iPod . I remember when Apple was a respectable company instead of just another place turning out flimsy product with built-in planned obsolescence.

I appreciate both Rich and Doc's feedback. Excuse me for venting, but I kind of went through the roof after talking to Apple.
Rich, I understand your point about car insurance, but I don't think that insuring a $36,000 product (much of which is for liability and not for repair) is exactly relevent to a two-hundred-something dollar product. I have any number of things in my house that cost more than that and don't have to carry insurance in order for me to have piece of mind.
    And Doc:
So, what is the issue here? Are you complaining about the cost to repair the headphone jack?<<</div>
Yes....charging almost the cost of a new product to repair something very basic is unacceptable to me.
Why are you using Apple technicians instead of finding someone else who is qualified and can do it cheaper?<<</div>
Good question and perhaps I'll look into that.
Is it the fact that it has to be repaired again? <<</div>
Well, I'm certainly not happy about that, especially since the cost of a second repair for something they've already fixed once is astronomical.
Or the fact that they won't repair it for free in perpetuity? <<</div>
Where did I say that I expected it to be fixed for free? It was out of warranty and I accept that there will be a fair charge. But if I take my $36,000 car in for a new tire, I don't expect to pay $36,000 just because the car is no longer under warranty. That's bascially what annoys me.
But I'll just chalk it up to experience. I've owned Apple products since my first 2E. I still have an old Mac classic that still works and we probably have 7 mothballed Macs in the house, most of which still function plus a couple other Mac's in use. But in the old days, Apple was a better company to deal with, IMHO. My experiences over the past several years have not been pleasant and I now find myself questioning if it's necessary to still buy their products.
    Thanks again for your input.

  • HT1178 is there any reason why I should turn on 5ghz or is 2.4 good enough? I have my mac wired and I have apple tv wireless 3 iPads 2 phones and 1 iPod.

Not sure if 5ghz is better than 2.4? Im running 8 devices on my wireless at 2.4 just wondering if I should connect anything to the 5ghz. thank you

If you have a simultaneous dual band AirPort router, then both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are always being broadcast at the same time.
Wireless devices will automatically connect to the best quality signal based on their wireless capability and distance in relation to the AirPort router.
You really don't have to worry about any of this.  Just let your wireless devices decide on the best signal to use and it will all happen magically.....most of the time.

  • Any reason why dictation should suddenly stop working in Pages?

Been working on Pages today on my Mac. All going along swimmingly using the dictation function.
    Then suddenly, it stops!
    Haven't got it working since.
Running latest Mavericks, on a three year-old MacBook Pro 17 inch; Pages is the latest edition.
    Any ideas?
Otherwise it's back to typing in again!
    Cheers!
    Mark.

    I'm using spoken punctuation.
I think the problem is a combination of a few things perhaps: my MacBook Pro is just over three years old, runs only 8Gb RAM, perhaps struggles with an English accent, and maybe Pages sin't quite the old Pages any more.
I can get it to work for about twenty words max before I hit the beach ball.
Also working out about the same on my 18 month old iPad as well.
Will just work within the limitations.
Thanks for all your help and comments, chaps!

  • Any reason why i should upgrade my 7 yr old iMac?

Aperture and iLife apps have slowed down and can be tedious when in use. Will a new imac speed this programs up? Otherwise browsing and googling are unaffected. What to do?

    FYI,
Your year and model iMac can take 6 GBs of RAM max.
    Here's the RAM spec.
6.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
You can replace one of the 2 GB RAM modules with a 4 GB RAM module from Mac RAM vendor OWC( macsales.com)
