Reassignment of commitment items & fund centers in open PR, PO & MIGO docs

Hi
We are using Fund Management (BCS) in our system since last one year. Now starting from next fiscal year ( 01.04.2009) we want to replace some of the existing fund centers and commitment items with either newly created fund centers & commitment items or existing ones. We will be changing FM derivation strategy too.
How should one go about it? Whats should be the strategy and procedure for replacing the commitment items & fund centers in open PR, POs & other open document. I know there is option of reassignment of fund centers and commitment items using reassignment derivation strategy. But I am not clear about the steps involved and strategy one should use while doing so.
Pawan

Hello Pawan,
You can also combine reassignment with closing operations (Carryforward with reassignment)
Pls check the link, under 'Closing Operations -> Derivation Strategy for Reassignments with Closing Operations'
By doing so, you can carry forward for example open PO's assigned to given account assingment in 2008 to a new account assignment in 2009
Reassignment programs RFFMCHAN and RFFMCHAT are normally used when Wrongly assigned documents or changes in the responsibility areas of the functional assignment necessitate account assignment changes within the year, or when PSM-FM is implemented later than other components.
I hope this will help
Kind regards

• Reassignment of commitment items

Hello,
Due to new budget we need to update the commitment item in funds
commitment documents and purchase requisition that are already created.
What is the best way to do this update?
Thanks

Moderator: Please, use standard tools of reassignment

Hello Paula,
You can use the tools for reassignment available in Funds Management
Steps would be as follows:
- Define a derivation strategy for reassignment (tx FMYC)
- Select documents for reassignment (FMCN, FMCB..depending on your requirements)
- Convert documents (FMCT)
- Reconstruct FM documents (FMN3N for Pr's, FMN4N for PO's, etc)
See the online help:

Hello,
Please kindly check your customizing in the following menu path:
SPRO - Materials Management - Inventory Management and Physical Inventory - Settings for Enjoy Transactions - Settings for Goods Movements (MIGO)
Then you can choose for MIGO or per mvt type. If you have doubts, check the documentation available there.
In addition, please check the note that explains the integration between PSM-FM and MM related to commitment item.

• Commitment item group not displayed as level node when generate report FM

Hi all,
We created commitment item group or funds centre group through tcode i.e FM_SETS_FIPEX1. We create group with lower node such as hierarchy.
However when we generate the standard report with the commitment item group or funds centre group, we find no hierarchies as commitment item/funds centre group figure. Just flat, no hierarchies, no level node.
How to make it displayed as commitment item/fundcentre group ?
It maintained on drilldown report or something else?
Dewi

Dewi,
For report painter reports you can create groups using transaction FMRP_CI_SET_HIER - Create Group Hierarchy from Master Data Hierarchy or create sets using GS01, with them you can view the reports with the master data hierarchy.

• How update Fund Center and Commitment Item after posting

hi Experts,
Funds management was activated during the year and hence there are few open items saved without capturing Fund Center and Commitment Item. When i tried to clear these open item i get the following error
Line in document xxx xxxxxxxxxxxx does not contain any commitment items
Is there any program which i can use to update derivation to the already posted line item
Thanks in Advance

Hi,
Solutions proposed by Alexey are good if FM document was created for the FI documents in question. If, however, no FM document was created, reassignment process won't help. You can try FMN0 transaction after creating a derivation rule in FMDERIVE for these documents, but I cannot confirm that it would be sucessful as FMN0 transaction is not perfect.
The solution could be updating FI tables (BSEG/BSIS/BSAS) with FM assignment (fund centre/commitment item) and only then running FMN0 transaction. In this case, FM document will be created and you'll be able to process the items.

• Fund Center & Commitment Item

What is the difference between Funds Center and Commitment Item ?
Thank you
Ravi

HI
Commitment Item:
Commitment items represent the functional grouping of an organization within a financial management area (FM area). Commitment items classify budget transactions and business transactions affecting liquidity into revenue, expenditure, and cash balance items. You can assign budget for particular responsibility areas (funds centers) to the commitment items. Budget is used up as postings commitment items and funds centers with commitment and actual values. Funds reservations and business transactions entered in the feeder systems also affect the budget.
Fund Center
Organizational unit within an FM area which represents the structure of an organization (areas of responsibility, departments, projects) in the form of a hierarchy. You can assign budget to funds centers in Funds Management. Budget is used up as postings are made to funds centers with commitment and actual values. Budget is even consumed in Funds management through a reservation of funds or by business transactions entered in the feeder systems of Funds Management (such as financial accounting, materials management).Funds centers in Funds Management are arranged in hierarchies. You can define only one funds center hierarchy per FM area. There is only one top funds center in a funds center hierarchy. Every other funds center has exactly one superior funds center. A superior funds center is defined in the master record of a funds center.

• Open Purchase order can we maintain commitment item for the year

hi
my requirement is for the year open purchase orders we need to maintain commitment item previously it was not maintain from this year we need to maintain is it posssible

Hi
If your PO has an IO or WBS or a Cost center maintained in it - Run the Program RKANBU01 in SE38 and it will push all the past data of commitments into the CO objects
You need to activate Commitment management in OKKP as well as in IO Type... If IO was created w/o the tick ON, then I believe you dont have a choice here..

• MM-FM integration. How to stop update of Fund Center and Commitment Item

Hello!
Anyone please help. MM-FM integration.
Our problem is after automatic creation of PR and PO from work orders, and the fund center and commitment item in the PR and PO has been changed/updated by the user, and then we change something in the work order and save it, the fund center and commitment item of the PR and PO goes back to default value (based on FMderive). Is there a way to stop this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Rona

It seems like you have selected "Do not overwrite target values" option in both Funds Enter and Commitment Item in the derivation rule defined.
Go through SAP Note 666322, make sure the Trace feature in On and then choose the option "Overwrite Target Values" in both Funds Enter and Commitment Item in your derivation rule. After that, see the Difference before and after values in the trace log created after performing the derivation rule.
I am sure this will help.

• Commitment Item in SD Billing document (Fund Managment) ECC6

Hi,
We are upgrading from 4.6C to ECC6 and have activated Fund Managment (EA-PS).
At the time of carrying out the Billing in SD we are getting a error that no commitment item available for gl account but if I use the same revenue account and create a FI invoice (FB70) then the CI is getting derived thru the derivation rules (Rule:CI from Cost Element).
I would like to know why the CI is not getting derived during Billing in SD module.
Thanks
SS

Hi,
Thanks for your message.
I have maintained a derivation Rule:CI from Cost Element, so that the CI will derive from this derivation rule.
As mentioned if I use same revenue account and create a FI invoice then the CI is derived as per the derivation rules but while carrying out the SD billing then the error comes.
Kindly clarify.

• Fund center and commitment item not updated

Hi!
We are using Funds Management together with SRM. When we change the value of e.g. cost center and not the account assignment itself we do not get an update on fund center. When changing account we do not get an update on commitment item either. This is standard SAP and we have been asked to use BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI. Have anyone else had this problem?
I would really appreciate if anyone have some code for this BADI or any other badi e.g. BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI. It is only important that changes in PO when replicated to back end results in the correct update of commitment item and fund center.
Sincerely
Andres

Solved through BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI

• Fund Center and Commitment Item

Hi All ,
What is the Fund Center and Commitment Item also the use of it.
regards
sunil

The fund center is the budget which is issued by the managemnet for the specific area (cost center) . The same will be released in each periodical wise as per decision taken.
Example Maintenance team has one fund center. So all the times for his expenses the fund will be deducted from provision. Basically it is linking with cost center.
The commitmenet item comes under the fund center. It menas that you may have repair& services, Labour charges, spares etc. each commitment item has own budget value under your fund center. exaplme if you are taking the spares your spares budget will deduct.
I think u got something, but for explation here is not possible since its big subject.

• How to derive commitment item and fund center when create PR from MRP.

Dear Experts,
No commitment item and fund center are derived when I create PR from MRP. I have to run transaction fm_mrp_pr to derive commitment item and fund center. However, I want to derive FM assignments during creating PR through transaction MD04. I plan to use user-exit to derive FM assignment while PR is creating from MRP. Which FM bapi, functions,etc... can I use in user-exit to derive FM assignment? Do you have an idea?
Thank you in advance,
Sibel

Hi Sibel,
Please check if note 1247722 and 1127135 are applied in your system. If not, kindly apply it and retest your issue. It should resolve it.
Kind Regards,
Vanessa.

• No fund derived for stadistical commitment item: error F6804

Hello,
While posting a payment I face an exchange difference. The exchance difference account has an "stadistical commitment item" related in the GL master data.
While posting and following the fmderiver tracking I see that the account tries to get the line item related to the invoice but the due to fmderiver I overwrite that commitment item and I took the one (teh stadistical) from the GL master data.
Then, when it tries to save it I get error f6804 as the system says that it is not able to trigger the fund, but as it is stadistical it should not be mandatory, isn't it?
Please let me.
Regards

Hi,
Statistical nature of commitment item is relevant only for budget control. There will be no AVC applied to postings on statistical CI. It has no influence on the requirements of the system to introduce full FM assignment.
As for the fund, it matters only for the reporting: if it means something for you which fund to apply for these postings, then define a rule accordingly. Otherwise, pick any fund available.

Eli
