Reauthorizing my computer after windows crashed

Hi,
My Windows crashed 2 days ago and I had to format my C drive and reinstall everything again. Now with the new installation, iTunes is telling me that I have "one more computer" authorized beside the one I am using now.
Is there a way to remove my old computer from the authorized computers list? And is it possible to view that list at all?

Another Microsoft "tax" and the answer is no.
This isn't a concern until you reach 5 authorized computers.

Anytime windows crashes or my computer unexpectedly restarts and Firefox is open, the "restore session" screen comes up, then no matter what (if anything) is clicked, Firefox promptly locks up.
I have to create a new profile and copy over the profile folder contents every single time. It is very annoying and frustrating.
I have tried deleting the entire profile folder after the crash, no change.
I have uninstalled and reinstall Firefox (with and without thunderbird), no change.
I have even go through the registry and manually deleted any mozilla and firefox key.
It has been going on in releases 4.x, 6, and now 7.0.1

Why not back up your profile (back to the Firefox parent directory), so that you can put it back easily? That way, you save the profiles.ini file as well as the profile.

After Window Crash & Restore Articles in Firefox print in small 4pt type reather than the normal 10pt-11pt type

With Internet Explorer web articles print in normal size type 10pt - 11pt. With Firefox web articles print in small 2pt-4pt type. This started after a Windows crash & restore.

The Packaged are already there on the server as the RHEL software DVD is copied on the server.
Yes it was working before the crash, And Even after the Crash i.e
after starting the server in Xwindows I was installing the rpms from RHEL6/Packages directory on the server even installed 10-12 rpms
and was in the process of installing the sabayon rpm i 've inadvertantly issued or run this command
rpm -ivh *.rpm --force --nodeps from RHEL software Packages directory.
and it ended up with Errors Header V3 RSA/SHA256 Signature, key ID fd431d51: BAD
   After that I could Not install any rpm from rpm or yum command.
   I 've Downloaded the new sabyon* and Other rpms from the net and tried to install them with rpm or yum command but
    got the same Errors Header V3 RSA/SHA256 Signature, key ID fd431d51: BAD
   with yum am getting this error
   error: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: Header V3 RSA/SHA256 Signature, key ID ec551f03: BAD.
I 've Tried searching on google as well for at least 10 hours but did not get any help from it so far.
The Reinstallation of OS is not AN Option for me rightnow.
   Could you tell something which i could try & may be that works.

Grub system boot messed up after windows crash

I have a dualboot system with Win XP and Arch. Yesterday Windows crashed while i was listening to music. Since then, when i boot my computer Grub throws an error message (i think it's error 17) and doesn't start the bootmanager. But if i boot from a normal Ubuntu-Live-CD an choose "boot from first harddisk" i get my grub manager and i am able to boot normally.
I tried to fix this by manually reconfigure grub like this:
1. Pop in the Live CD, boot from it until you reach the desktop.
2. Open a terminal window or switch to a tty.
3. Type "grub"
4. Type "root (hd0,6)", or whatever your harddisk + boot partition numbers are (my /boot is at /dev/sda7, which translates to hd0,6 for grub).
5. Type "setup (hd0)", ot whatever your harddisk nr is.
6. Quit grub by typing "quit".
7. Reboot.

It seems that my hdX is different to my sdX labels. sda is my linux harddisk, and sdc is my windows drive. But if i type root (hd0,0) i get "Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7", which means that this is an NTFS drive. So i tried root (hd2,0) (in my menu.lst, booting arch is also defined with hd2,0) and then i get "Error 21: Selected disk does not exist".
Now two questions:
1) Why is the labeling different? Why isn't sda1 = hd0 and so on?
2) How to restore my boot process? (this is slightly more important )

as for the remapping of drives, there's always:
map (hd0) (hd2)

Restart computer after EVERY crash????

I heard or read somewhere that its BEST to restart the pc after a crash or the problem may just lurk there....this helps most of the time but again is Very frustrating......Here's another question it was said to look at nVidia - I have the GeForce 7500LE - are they any known problems with this one? It's been 2 months of work on and off to get a 25 minute, 100 photo slide show put together with transitions,music and titles.....on a bad day (lots of crashes) I leave the project alone for a day or so (to rest) but I had envisioned loading the pictures with automatic cross dissolve and tweaking a few transitions and adding titles and music and expecting it to take but a day or so....would a dedicated pc striped to the bones and even without internet acess do the trick....I'm grabbing at straws. Remember I'm a novice about pcs so just finding the specs can take me awhile......I thought the PrElements was for someone like me.

In the meantime, it sounds like you've possibly got a few issues going on.
For crashes, take a look at this ARTICLE. It might help you gather "clues" as to what is happening, and maybe even point out the problem.
This ARTICLE will give you some tips on getting a computer ready for an editing session.
Last, let's talk about your still images. What size are they? For a DVD Project, the rec. is for no larger than 1000x750 pixels. This ARTICLE will give you tips on resizing, if necessary.

Reinstalling PSE 10 after Windows crash and saving old projects

Hi!
My windows installation has crashed - no chance to get it alive again. I have an important not finished film project on 3 harddisks and diverse partitions (as it is recommended: Media, the raw captured video and so on). On C is only windows XP and the programm and its folder. The project itself and the prel file is on D with all the rest of the Data of the other programms. All Harddisks are ok.
When I reinstall Windows in the same way as it was before, and on C also PSE again. And then click on the prel file. Will it work to continue then?
Will there be any loss? Will it work as before? What should I take care of?
Are all the informations of the project where the parts of the project is stored in the prel file? Are they / some (also?) in the programm folder of PSE on C?
(As there are the 3 Harddrives and more partitions it could be that during the installation xp does not assign the drive letters and partition letters absolutely the same way it was before though....)
Shall I after having reinstalled windows and PSE copy the old programm folder to C again? (After the installation the programm in the new proper XP is registered of course and would be looking the same exept of the installation dates.)
I could save and copy the old PSE folder in programms on C with a linux live CD and put it on D before reinstalling XP and erasing all that was on C before. (The rest will not be touched, as it is on the other partitions / drives).

And to answer another question, yeah. its the same computer, and I have sucessfully reinstalled one other product via disk and code.

HT1660 How can I get my library from my i pod back to the computer after a crash?

I lost my library after a computer crash. I'd like to transfer everything back from my I Pod if possible. I reinstalled I tunes and the screen looks totally different There is no 'file' to work from and the disc does not get picked up from the drive.

Have you failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer? not good.
You can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You can purchase programs to get the other music.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device.

How do I get a reinstall on my computer after a crash for photoshop elements?

Alright so this is what happened, the last time my computer crashed my dad had to restart it because the virus was so bad, he even reinstalled windows and all for me, except when I went to find my Photoshop elements that was included with my deal on my mini hp tord boontjie, I couldnt find it. I must have thrown it out when I moved without realizing it, and I was wondering if its possible to get a reinstall of this product because im not willing to pay that much for photoshop elements. If anyone could help me on this issue, i would be very glad. Thanks in advance.

It didnt come on the computer, it was in a seperate box inside the same box, so you had to upload it on there with a memory card, im asking about the photoshop elements, if its possible to recover that, because the only reason I bought the laptop was for the photoshop included in the deal..

How can I deactivate Creative Cloud after windows crashed?

Good morning everyone,
Ive following issue that my Second PC crashed and Windows restored itself. Unfortunately it deleted half of the creative cloud programms. My issue is now that i cant reeinstall Photoshop and Aftereffects because it always says that all license are already in use. So is there any way to delet ore log myself off a license without the program beeing installed anymore.
I would be realy thankfull for any help.

Welcome to Adobe Forum,
The CC has been activated twice, so please perform the steps as mentioned earlier, when you will launch & try to sign in after install, it will ask you to deactivate from previous machine.
There will be an option to deactivate it from there also, if your previous machine are un accessible then you can choose the option to deactivate from here & henceforth it will allow to sign in & activate.
Please let us know if it worked.

Authorizing my computer after Windows 7 update

Ok, so here we go.
I am a college student and just got a new laptop this year. So, I had to transfer all my iTunes files from my home computer to my new computer. I also created my own iTunes account to use instead of my parents account. This was done easily and I had no problems with transferring the files. (btw, I have iTunes 9)
However this weekend I just updated my laptop to Windows 7. My iTunes library showed up, with all my songs in it. I then bought some songs from the iTunes store, and plugged in my iPod to update it with the new songs. Then the following message box pops up:
"This computer is no longer authorized to play items that are on the iPod "Katie's iPod." Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store?"
When I click "Authorize" a second box pops up asking me to enter my Apple ID and password. The Apple ID is already filled in with the my parents' account ID, and I just have to fill in the password (otherwise all of my transferred files bought with my parents' account will be lost). So I do this, and then I get this bizarre message:
"You cannot authorize more than 5 computers. You have already authorized 5 computers with this account. To authorize this computer, you must first deauthorize one of the other computers."
This makes no sense to me, because this account is only authorized with one other computer, my home computer.
I have absolutely no idea how to solve this problem to keep my transferred songs and to sync my iPod with new ones. Please help!!!

Deauthorize your PC repeatedly, for both your parent's account and your account.
You are going to have to use itunes menu > store > sign
to switch between the 2 accounts.
Sounds like you didn't deauth your PC before going to Win 7.

I pulled the bookmarks html file off of my computer after it crashed, and am trying to get my old bookmarks into firefox. How does one do that?

When my computer crashed, we managed to recover a bunch of the files and information from it. One of the files we pulled was the bookmarks.html from the firefox folder. The computer was running on Vista when it crashed, and I now have it running 7 Professional. The file is recorded as a Chrome html file on the new computer, and when I click on it, it pulls up a basic html page within Chrome or firefox that has links to the firefox website (kind of like a webpage version of the bookmarks folder from the toolbar, but without any of the bookmark adding capabilities). I'd like to get my old bookmarks loaded into firefox. Help?

Firefox hasn't used the '''bookmarks.html''' file for storing bookmarks since the Firefox 2 versions, in 2008. Later versions use '''places.sqlite''' for bookmarks and history. What you have is the default file that Firefox uses on new installations and new Profiles, which has like 6 bookmarks.

Re-syncing a computer after a crash

I had synced my new computer with my old computer and had no problems. My new computer crashed and I had to clear my H on the new machine. When I tried to re-sync the new computer again, it will not work.
when I set up the sync on the new machine, it generates the sync code, I go to sync on the old machine and put in the sync code, it just goes back to the set up sync, pair devices screen and nothing is synced.
I tried to look up my recovery key, but when I go to the sync tab, I don't have a Manage Account tab to click on
I just can't get the new machine to re-sync

Both devices need to be online at the same time if you want to pair a device with the (3x4) 12-character code.<br />
Sync needs to be set up and working on at least one (desktop) computer, so you can enter the 12-character code that is provided by the device (computer) that you want to pair on the computer that has a working Sync setup.
Enter all details like the account name (email address) and password and the 26-character Sync key manually to connect to an existing sync account instead of using the 12-character code to pair a device if pairing isn't possible.

Save Firefox setting after windows crashes

My C:\ drive is the System Recovery partition. My D:\drive is my windows partition... I messed up on a HDD cloning... Windows will not start up and I believe a fresh install is in order, however I do not recall the last time I backup-ed up my saved passwords/bookmarks. If I connect my HDD to a different computer, is there a file from firefox I can copy over to have all my saved passwords and bookmarks? Or do you need to back it up while its running?

Getting music back onto my computer after it crashed. Using same computer.

My current computer caught a virus of some sort. It erased almost the entire memory. Needless to say, my Itunes library was erased. I still have all of my music on my ipod. I am simply trying to put that music back onto the same computer. I have downloaded Itunes 10 and I thought I was ready to simply sync and the music would appear on my computer. That isn't the case. I need help putting the music back into my Itunes on my rebuilt computer. Any suggestions?

I'm going to assume that you never backed up any of the music on your iTunes library to an external source and that you weren't running any current antivirus software.
Might I suggest you purchase a Mac Mini with an external hard drive? Then you could use Time Machine to back up and wouldn't need the antivirus software.
But in the meantime, also assuming the music on the iPod was not purchased from the iTunes Store, download and install YamiPod from here: http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ then follow the instructions.

Sure - just reload it from the backup you routinely keep updated on your external hard drive. Ummm...you do keep a backup, right?
Ok, I suppose not. But it's definitely something you'll start doing now, right? RIGHT???
In the meantime, get yourself the appropriate 3rd party software (TouchCopy, for example) to work around the iPhone's enforced one-way (computer to iPhone) sync. But remember - the iPhone is not a backup device!
