  • Rebate agreements / Rebate condition type

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone tell me how to process Rebate agreements/Rebate condition types in pricing procedure. Please help me by giving step to step description for rebate condition type and where to maintain condition records and how they function.
    Thanks in advance experts,
    Kanna Palle.

    Hi ,
    find some notes on rebates.
in the billing document, the rebates are calculated as per the the accrual rates in rebates condition records. My question if the invoice is for Rs 100 and accrual rebate amt in invoice is rs 2. will the customer pay Rs 98 against this invoice of full Rs 100.
Ans --> Customer need to pay Rs 100 only , rebate amount will paied to the customer after completion of the rebate duration in between there will be partial settlement.
    2) what happens during manual accruals. why a credit memo request is generated during manual accruals. what happens to accruals as per condition records.
    Ans--> Manual Accruals
    Use
Posting accruals manually can be useful in different situations such as:
    Lump sum payments
    Accruals correction
You can control at which time and for which amount the accruals should be posted.
You can build accruals for a particular condition record or reverse them in part or in full.
When you save the rebate agreement, the system will automatically create a credit memo request. The system uses this document to create a credit memo. When the credit memo is released, the accruals are posted to FI.
If you have posted accruals manually, but these have not been passed on to financial accounting, the manual accruals and manual payments in the rebate agreement are blocked.
    3) what happens during partial settlement. do the accruals already poested gets reduced to the extent of amount of partial settlement. do manaul accruals have any role to play during partial settlement
    Ans->Partial Settlement
    Use
You can also partially settle a rebate agreement during its validity period. The amount to be paid can be limited in Customizing for Sales. Payments can be:
limited to the cumulative accruals of the condition record
limited to the amount that would be paid if final settlement were presently carried out
    unlimited
You carry out partial settlement by using the manual payment screen within rebate agreement processing. On this screen you can specify the amount to be paid for each condition record.
The system will automatically create a credit memo request for the amounts specified.
It will also reverse the accruals with the credit memo if the rebate agreement type is configured accordingly. If the payment exceeds the recordu2019s accumulated accruals, the system will only reverse the accruals which are actually there.
The system gives you the opportunity to carry out additional partial settlements when previous partial settlements remain open in the form of credit memo requests or credit memos. The system always takes open documents into account when determining the maximum amount which you can pay.
When the system carries out final settlement for a rebate agreement, it takes all partial payments into account.
    4) what happens during final settlement. do manual accruals have any role to play during final settlement i.e. do they get reversed and what happens to accurals posted as per rebate condition records.
    Ans-->Final settlement
    Use
When you carry out final settlement of a rebate agreement, the system automatically
calculates the rebate based on the sales volume statistics or the lump sum
    deducts any previously paid rebates
It then creates a credit memo request, and proposes the end date of the agreement validity period as the billing date.
The system also reverses any accruals that have been posted.
Depending on Customizing, when the system creates a credit memo request, the document is automatically blocked for billing. After approving the credit memo request, the person responsible can remove the billing block. You can then create the final credit memo.
When you want to search for credit memo requests during sales order processing, you can use the match code F "Credit memo request for rebate".
You can carry out final settlement of rebate agreements
    automatically
    Manually
as a background task (in batch)
    Settling Single Rebate Agreements
You can carry out settlement directly from within a rebate agreement.
Before you save the rebate agreement you can still carry out changes to the credit memo request:
The credit memo request is only saved when you save the rebate agreement.
Carrying out Final Settlement as a Background Task
If the volume of your sales rebate processing is high, you can collectively process rebate settlements as a background task.
    The following reports are available:
    RV15C001
    RV15C002
Your system administrator can use these reports to generate a list of rebate agreements, based on various selection criteria, such as rebate recipient, status of the agreement, and so on.
Background processing can then be carried out later. I.e., after the regular posting periods.
After a list is generated, the rebate agreements can be analyzed or processed for payment.
For more information about settling rebates as a background task, see your system administrator.

  • Rebate agreement- Recalculation for previous scales

I have a requirement to recalculate rebates on already accomplished scales.
    Te requirement is as follows,
Say a customer has a scale for 0 to 1 million in a period for which he receives 1 %.  Now there is a second scale from 1 Million to 2 Million in the same period for which he receives 2 %.
Now since the customer has acheived both the scales, the company wants to give him 2 % on the entire 2 million instead of giving 1 % on the first million and 2 % on the second million. Some pointers on how this can be acheived would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    ES.

    Hi
No it is not, it is accrued into the accruals account based on the accruals value you have defined in the condition record of the agreement.
    Example scale :
    scale value            Amount             Accruals
           0,00 EUR         5,000- %          7,000-
      100,00                   8,000-
    1.000,00                12,000-
If you create a real invoice for less than 100 Euro according to your current understanding the 5% rate would apply and if the invoice value was over 100 Euro the 8% rate would apply. In both cases the 7% accrual rate would apply with no consideration of the scale.
When you create rebate condition with scales, for the individual customer billing document, the system will take the first scale level / the accruals amount. Only during the final settlement, will the detailed scales condition be taken into consideration for the real customer payment.
Check this note: 392711 - Rebate conditions with scales
Most customer's would maintain their accruals amount as an average based on the business reality when using rebate scales.
    Hope it helps
    Kind regards

  • Scale values in Sales Rebate Agreements

    Hi All
We are trying to set up rebate agreement reporting for our client. They use both Purchase related rebates (MEB1) and Sales rebates(VBO1). In the purchase related rebate screen(MEB3) -> Business volume data allows a drill down into scale income. But the same is option is not visible in sales related rebates (VBO3)
-> Sales volume data i.e. I can't see the scale values in the sales volume data report even though I have defined scales for my condition type.
Is there another way of seeing the scale values or is there some config missing? Please help as we are at our wit's end about the difference in functionality.
    Regards
    Salil

Such functionality does not exist in VBO3, sorry!

  • Rebate agreement scales

    Hi,
We in our company has implemented rebate agreements. We have monthly offtake rebate as one of the rebate agreement type. The scales are as
    0-50 nil
    51-100                 Rs. 375/MT
    101-200                Rs.425/MT
    201-500                Rs. 500/MT
    > 500                     Rs. 600/MT
Total billed qty for a month is 250 MT.
Currently it is calculating as 250MT*Rs.500 = Rs. 125000 as the rebate amount.
But the system should calculate as below
    first      50MT -    50MT*0 =  0
    second 50MT          50*375 =  18750
    for 100 MT         100*425 =42500
    last 50 MT            50*500 = 25000
    total rebate amount = Rs.86250
I tried with scale type D - graduated to-interval but it is not accepting this scale type.
Please help me to solve this problem.

    Hi,
Scales are ignored when calculating accruals, but will be calculated at rebate settlement.
You can check the manual on rebate set up and management that rithvika posted in another thread:

  • Using scales in rebate agreements

    Hi Everyone,
I have created an Incremental Rebate Agreement for a customer. I want to accrue at 2 different rates using the scales. However, every combination I have tried, they only accrue at the 1st rate and ignore volume and rates change in the scales. Please can you have a look at my example and explain how I should have entered the scales. I put a rate of £0.01GBP/M3 up to 299,000L and from 300,000 litres up to 10 million litres a rate of £2GBP per M3. The customer has had over 500,000 litres delivered since starting with us on 30.06.10.  System is not proposing £2GBP as desired, please guide me to handle this issue.  System ideally should propose £2GBP but instead it is proposing £0.01GBP.  Please throw some inputs from your side.
    regards,
    US

    Hi,
    That is absolutely correct.
In Rebate Agreement, system takes the first rate all the time in the Billing document and accrual also will be posted for the first rate from the scale.
In your case, whatever may be the volume you bill, system will take 0.01 GBP per M3.
    You have billed, 500,000 litres.
System will take 0.01 GBP per M3 as it is first rate in the scale.
But, it will be updated in the Rebate Agreement Sales volume screen.
Now, go to your Rebate Agreement screen in VBO2, go to Sales volume screen.
On the left hand side, system will show the total Rebate discount the Customer is eligible for if you want him to get the higher rate as per the scale.
On the left hand side, the actual accrual posted is shown.
Suppose, the actual accrual posted with the first rate (0.01 GBP) is 10 GBP on the left hand side and on the right hand side 2000 GBP if you will give the higher rate.
In Rebate, it is upto you whether you want to give him the benefit of higher rate or not.
If as per the condition/caluse you specified, if the customer is eligible, then you may extend the higher rate of Rebate discount.
In that case, you need to post the difference amount (2000 GBP - 10 GBP = 1990 GBP) as Manual accrual.
So the total amount will now be as 2000 GBP (shown in the right side of the Sales volume screen of Rebate Agr).
There is also a t.code to see the difference amount to be posted as manual accrual but I do not remember as I am not infront of the system.
Possibly it is VB(7 or something like that, but you can calculate manually also.
The above is a standard functionality of Rebate as it is a special kind of discount which you may or may not give to the customer as Rebate is normally accompanied with some rules or conditions for which Customer must qualify.

  • Rebate agreement setup in SAP based on quantity purchased

    Hi Experts,
Question relating to rebates and commission.
I have requirement to create rebate agreement on quantity purchased. If customer buys 1KG of material then the unit of measurment i.e., KG should be conveted to Pound and accrue $2.54 per pound.
Please give some guidance on how to set this up in SAP.
    Thank you

    Hi Dayanand,
There is a Rebate Condition Type available in standard, BO02-Material Rebate use that rebate condition type in your pricing procedure and try to create the condition record or rebate agreement with customer and material and in unit of measure you can give "pounds" and if in material master in additional data conversion factor is maintained i.e., 1 KG is equal how many pounds, system will not ask you in rebate agreement and if not maintained system will prompt a message as below
mention the conversion factor how pounds equal to kg and request you to test the cycle throughly
    Hope this will help u

  • SD - Rebate Agreement configuration

We have been trying to configure rebate agreements for retroactive discounts to be given for a month - which is to be based on the total off take invoiced value for each customer.
In the Condition type we need to -
    1)  Use value scales - eg upto Rs.125000/- invoiced value
    2)  The margin is a %age of the invoiced amount e.g. 9.5%
    3) The Value scales are as under:
         upto 125000/-               9.5%
         125001 to 260000        11.5%
         AND SO ON..................
    4)  Till now we had used a condition type which would give volume based discounts as under:
         upto 10 units               nil
         11 to 20 units              125/- per unit
         21 to 30 units              275/- per unit
    5)  Now the scheme has changed and we need to configure a new condition type as per s.no. 3
    6)  In the current condition type - ZFVB which we were using for s.no.4, the values were as under:
    Access sequence = BO03
    a)  Condition Class = 'C'
    b)  Calcut type = 'C'
    c)  Scale basis = 'C'
    d)  Check Value = 'A'
    e)  Unit of measure = REB (this was assigned in the mat master)
    f)  Text Determination = '02'
    Thanks in advance
    anjali

    Hi
I tried working out with these changes suggested - it still does not work.  Actually - the earlier condition had used REB as the Unit of measure and this was also maintained in the material which were eligible for rebate through the reb agreement.
Now, with the current config as suggested by you - the UOM field in the condition type is not accepting any values.  So maybe there should be some link between the reb agreement with Payer and material that is being missed out by us.
    thanks

  • Rebate agreement setting for new customer

I have a scenario, where business has a customer who had some sales and now that the cusotmer has changed his name and new customer is created for that. old customer has been set for deletion. now business wants to transfer the old customer sales data to new customer inorder to create the rebate agreements. as i understand rebate agrements are created based on customer and cannot be created for old customer and accru another customers sales. did any one came across such scenario, please give your suggestion.

  • Rebate agreement-Difference coming for credit note value and drill down value .

    Hello Friends,
In 2013 we had created one rebate for which the validity period was 1st April 2013 to 31st March 2014 . At the end of each month, rebate amount was settled by raising credit note to the customer . Now at the end of March'14 during final settlement, a credit note was raised to the customer . The issue here is there is difference of 1.13 (Pounds) between credit note value and the drill down value for March'14 . Lets say our credit note value is-100 (Pounds)and Drill down value for the month March'14 is 101.13 Pounds. We are not able to find out why this difference is coming . Please let me know your inputs on this .
    Regards,
    Sandeep G.

    Sandeep -
During final settlement of a rebate agreement, it calculates rebate amout for the the entire time period less payments already made to a customer and then issues a credit memo request based on that. Please check all the the invoices created during entire period and check accrual calculation. It should match.
You can check VBOX table to get billing documents for the entire period.
Let us know if you still have an issue.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Settling Rebate Agreements with Validity Start Date not Start of the Month

    Hello Experts,
I am currently trying to settle a rebate agreement with validity dates November 20, 2011 to December 31, 2011. However, after the credit memo is created, I noticed that the Service rendered date is today's date, but I expected it to be the same as my Settlement Date = November 30, 2011 (a month-end). Please advise if this is normal. If not, please advise how to correct the automatic entry of dates.
    Thanks,
    M

    Hi
Kindly let us know what is the rebate agreement type that has been used for which you are facing problem and for which rebate agreement type you are getting the month end date.Check wheather scale basis is B(Value scale) has been maintained or not for the rebate agreement for which you are getting problem. So check the differences between the two rebate agreement types. As The service rendered date of the invoice line item is used to determine the validity of a rebate condition record

  • Rebates agreements (extremely urgent)

    Dear SAP experts,
I need your help in rebate agreements (RA).
I have setup the condition tables for RAs to accept Sales Area, ship-to, and EAN (MARA-EAN11) as combination. Together with material determination table, it does a mapping/substitution whenever I create a sales order which works like a charm to map to the access sequences and conditions I have created.
However, there is an issue with this setup. Each EAN can actually map to multiple MARA-MATNR (material numbers) depending on the MATNR lifecycle (i.e. 1 EAN to M MATNR).
For instance, EAN 123456 can have material abc assigned to it today, but due to a product being pulled out of market, business reuses that EAN 123456 and assigns it to another MATNR later on. To ensure that the right EAN-MATNR combination happens at a time, the material determination table (MDT) was used as an approach.
However, when I create RAs with condition type Sales Area, ship-to, and EAN (MARA-EAN11)  combination, the "material for settlements" field is required as input. As the "material for settlements" field is KONP-BOMAT with check table MARA, it is not possible for me to put in EAN for the material as it requires a MARA-MATNR field.
One of the options I was thinking was to do a conversion using MDT prior to creation of RA. Note however that when the MDT data changes, there will be inconsistencies with what's happening in real life versus what was mapped: the RA's take the conversion from EAN -> MATNR based on the contents of the MDT at the point of RA creation, and do not get updated automatically even when other MATNR get assigned to the same EAN.
    My questions as follows:
    1. What is really the materials for settlement field? How does this field impact the creation of credit memos? How does this impact the settlements process?
    2. I would need to create an output report based on the rebates generated on EAN level. My understanding is that SAP is working on the MATNR level. Is there any way to go about this given the situation described above?
    3. Given that the data in the MDT changes against the FPC, is there any way to ensure that the EAN is the "key field" used for data processing in place of the MATNR field in the RA "material for settlement" field?
    4. Any advice on how EAN will impact RA creation, order, delivery, shipping, invoicing?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

    hi
Rebates Processs in SAP is divided into three components
    1) Configuring Rebates
    2) Setting Up Rebates
    3) Managing rebate agreeeements and payments
    Pre-requsiistes- Check the following:
1.The payer partner needs toi have the rebate field checked in the customer master on the sales area-billing doc tab.
2.The Billing type must be marked as relevant for rebates.
3.The Sales Organisation must be marked as relevant for rebates.
    Condition Technique :
Rebates, use the condition technique, but distinguish themselves from pricing in applying to transactions over time, versus on a transaction basis. Rebates have their wn field catalog and their own condition table naming convention. So you could have two condition table "001" one for pricing and one for rebates, which could have different key fields. You need to use the technical names A001 For pricing and KOTe001 for rebates when you use the query type using transaction SE 16..
Use create access sequence (AS).  Enter 1 in field category for rebate specific.  AS after going thru the right path of maintaining access sequence for rebates.
The big difference between the rebate and the pricing access sequence is that there is no exclsuion flag available for rebate related AS. This means multiple tables for an access sequence can be aplied at the same time.
Rebate related condition types are identified by codnition class -C.
After defining and creating condition types for rebated include them in the pricing proceedure. The requirement should be 24 here which implies that the accruals are calculated on the basis of invoice/bill.
The other fields- alctyp and altcbv does not allow you to manipulate how a rebate is calculated. Also, remove the requiremnt 24, if u want to see reabtes at order time.
    Now payment of rebates:
Payments can be maunal or in full settlement. When you do manual payments, it defines how much can be paid out during a partial settlemetn.  You use partial settlement only when rebate agreement is defined for a full year but the paoyouts are supposed to happen on a monthly, quarterly or anyother specified period.
These accurals are based on sales volume and when they are posted billing is created int eh follwoing manner. Provision for accruals is debited and Sales revenue is credited. When rebate credit memo is created
       Customer account/ is debited and
       Accrual provision account is credited.
Also, please note that when rebates are created without dependent ona material but on customer/material you need to refer to a material for settlement.
    Rewards point it helps

  • Customer final rebate settlement based on respective delivering plant

    Dear Friends,
Can you please give your valuable suggestions.
Issue : Customer final rebate settlement based on respective delivering plant.
Let me explain: Customer has purcahsed some goods worth Rs. 200000.00 by 10 invoices. Different delivering plants are involved , lets say Plant 1000 & Plant 2000. Via plant 1000 - Material worth 50000 sold by 3 invoices & via Plant 2000- material worth 150000 sold by 7 invoices ). Customer is supposed to get 2% rebate means Rs. 4000.00.
Client needs how during the final settlement they can create two rebate credit memo request of Rs. 1000. 00 & Rs.3000.00 automatically with respect to the delivering plants involved in the process.
No partial rebate payment will be done. I think it will help in this process. So we can put accural same as rebate rate.
Any more clarification please let me know.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gyana Ranjan.

    Hi Anup,
if I get you right you want to give the customer the rebate when he reaches the sales volume of 25,000.
    Please use the scales (F2)
Scales type "A" (from-scale) is probably standard, so the rule is
from scale value: 25,000 Amount 3%
If you want to give the customer the rebate when he reaches the sales volume of 25,000 and then stop
Go to condition details (F6), change the scale type to B (To-scale), go to scales again and and fill the scales table as follows:
to scale value: 24,999 Amount: 0
to scale value: 25,000 Amount :3%
