Rebel Warfare game starts to load but freezes/stops on "Sync" anyone else have this issue or know how to fix without uninstalling and starting over?

Having the exact same issue. Also, on right click, many apps freeze/beachball and must force close. Additionally, uTorrent and Transmission are not operating correctly-uTorrent constantly beachballing and unresponsive. Right-click freezes with everything from Word to iMovie. Takes way too much time to do anything, and lots of cursor freezing, here is a sys log excerpt:

That killed the hard drive, so I got a new hard drive and had the Apple Store install Lion on it, then used Migration Assistant to bring files over. Since then I've upgraded to Mountain Lion and have been experiencing lots of beach balls, freezes, etc. They're so bad that I've had to forcibly shut down 3 times, and each time can't restart. Each time I've erased and done a clean install of Mountain Lion from a USB, then used migration assistant and time machine to bring files back. Just did this last night and am still getting tons of beach balls and freezes. Help please! Here's what Etresoft says.

Safari, Quicken Essentials, other apps freezing after installing Maveric
Okay, I installed OS X 10.9 when it first came out. Then started having issues with apps freezing, like Safari, Quicken Essentials and other apps. I noticed this only after installing Maverick. The only time the freeze would go away, would be after re-starting. Then, it seemed the app would freeze again ONLY after I have been away from the computer for a while (maybe screen saver mode causes this issue?). After not being able to figure it out, I un-installed Maverick and went back with TimeMachine and stayed away from Maverick thinking the issue would get fixed and letting bugs go by. I just re-installed Maverick a few days ago and the issue is still there. So, before I un-intsall again, I figured I would check here for any fix or if anyone else was having the same issue.
Example would be, as soon as you try to open the app, it immediately freezes and you get the round twirling circle that goes on indefintely. The only time it will work, is after you re-start and then you can open it up. If I leave the computer un-attended for a few hours and then come back, freezing happens again. Not all apps act this way. FireFox seems to have no issues.
Anyone else having this issue and if so, have you found a resolution?

No. Using CleanMyMac2 can result in deleting required system components that must not be deleted, and cannot be deleted using normal means. Reports of misery resulting from using it or similar "cleaning" utilities are common on this site. You should demand your money back.
OS X maintains itself very well. Periodic "cleaning" is not required and can only result in degraded performance at best; a corrupted and useless Mac at worst. The perceived need for aftermarket utilities is probably attributable to many new Mac users who became inured to them after years of using Windows PCs.
Though Norton / Symantec's garbage has a different purpose, it is capable of doing nothing beneficial will also cause the same results.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Disable Java in Safari > Preferences > Security.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind. -
Music app freezes on my iphone4
The music app freezes when I play music on my iphone 4. It seems to want to skip songs and then locks up. Then only way to get it working again is to stop my playlist, close the app and then start again. This is annoying when working out. Anyone know of a fix? I am updated to the latest itunes and iphone OS.
Updating to iOS 5.1.1 may be, as it replaces a potentially corrupt iOS on your phone. If it doesn't, then something has become corrupt in your backup and you wlll have to save as much of your data as possible (import all photos, backup all contacts, write down your email settings, etc.) and restore the phone as new. Some safety tips prior to updating your iOS:
Back up your contacts, either to iCloud, Google or another cloud service; to a supported program such as Outlook, or using an app like My Contacts Backup
Import all photos and videos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
These are the two things the most commonly go missing when people update or restore their phone.
Edit: shutting down and restarting you phone probably won't help, resetting it might (which is like rebooting your computer when something isn't working)

Mail app freezes upon opening after Mavericks install
Following my installation of mavericks, apple mail app freezes upon opening. Windows do not open; program immediately begins "not responding." Having followed this with a force quit loop for a day, I installed airmail, a serviceable alternative, but not well integrated with address book. As such, I'm interested in finding a fix for mail app. Advice will be greatly appreciated.
I have same problem with my macbook pro 2009
Worked fine when first installed now mail app fails to open. Not the same issue as with macbook airs.

Music App Freezes After 4.1 Upgrade
I recently upgraded my 3GS to 4.1, and I am now experiencing an issue whereby the music app (the ipod?) would freeze if I do any other activity while playing music
For example: I'm listening to music, and a phone call arrives. After hanging up the call, the music starts to play again, but then stops and the music app freezes. Or, I am receiving and sending text messages while the music is playing, then the same thing will happen. Or, if I open another app while listening to music.
The phone itself won't freeze, but I can no longer play music, and selecting the music icon just displays a white screen. After a few seconds, the music app closes and I return to the home screen. To make the music app work again, I have to reboot the phone.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?
Thank you!I have the same situation here. The files in questions are the no-longer sold iTunes store file format of M4P. Most likely it will have to be addressed in a future upgrade.

HTML5 App freezing after stopping geocoordinatewatcher (sometimes)

I have a problem with my html5 app freezing when I stop monitoring geolocations. The strange thing is that the freeze only occurs if the phone has been unable to receive gps positions for some time. When this happens, the app never gets
to the “done” alert (see code below). The funny thing is that the app returns to idle detection mode (the screen gets black after a few minutes), so that must mean that coordinateWatcher.Stop() is called without any error.
If I am outside receiving gps positions and stop the geomonitoring, then everything works fine.
If I have been without gps positions for some time, and then take the phone outside until gps is ok, then things also work.
Is there anything I can do to handle this situation?

Ask for refund for upgrading to lion, since lion always freezes at start up.
I want to know if I can get a refund for upgrading to lion. I have been really frustrated with this upgrade. Ever since the upgrade, I have not been able to start up normally. It always freezes at start up. I don't want to waste my time on fixing this issue any more.
No refunds that I know of.
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.
After seeing what you have to do to return to Snow Leopard you might rethink your position of not wanting to fix the problem you have with Lion which probably arose from existing problems with your Snow Leopard system. The fix is pretty easy. Back up your data, erase the drive, reinstall Lion, restore your files.
Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.

Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer. -

So I got the iPad 2 last Wednesday and tried facetime. It seemed to work then froze, but I gave up as it was still new and I was still figuring things out. Anyway i'd use the camera a few times (maybe 3) and made maybe 2 quick videos, nothing big. I never use the camera much. Today I went to videotape my nephew and clicked the camera screen, but it wouldnt leave the shutter screen. If i restore it to default, it works. But as soon as I sync my iPad up so it restores all my settings, the camera freezes. Obviously facetime and photobooth don't load either.
I think a few people have this issue, what was the resolution? if i take it to apple will they give me a new one on the spot or send it in for repairs, and im without it for a while?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
If when you restore the iPad to the factory settings the camera works, then there is nothing wrong with the iPad, you have something corrupt in the backup that you are using to restore your previous settings. I would delete the backup and start fresh. Go to iTunes/Preferences/Devices and delete any and all backups there for the iPad.
Then configure and sync the iPad as if it were new from the box for the first time.

Mine Also i recieved my ipad last wednesday after strange delay in shipping in hong kong and my front camera does not work at all and i update ipad and reset many times without sucsess .
Camera application start on back camera and ok and then when i try to switch to front one it freeze with last image from back camera then after i close the application from multitask bar and open it again it show me shutter picture !!!!
I think apple has problem in this patch of production .

Try this reset. Press & Hold the Sleep/Wake and the Home buttons simultaneously for 10+ seconds. Ignore the red power off slider.

I try it without any success and i try even to restore the same result . as i see the first group of ipad 2 which ordered on 11 march and delivered on last wednesday is almost have issue in front camera between freeze and not working at all .

Deleting my backups and starting fresh kinda *****. I'd rather not have to re-do all my settings like email and my apps. Its not that i have a lot of apps, maybe 5 or so I use, but still, its a bit of a pain. I guess I can TRY it... can't hurt right...
I dont want to just delete my backups though, i'll store them somewhere else (i think i remember where apple stores them) and copy them over later if i need to.
Worth a shot, better this then my iPhone which has a ton of apps I use for work. Im still setting the iPad up for my work stuff. Will let you know how i make out.
BTW the home/power reset didnt work, ive obviously tried this many times, and just now while writing this. Same issues.

So heres an update. I just restored the iPad so its back to factory default... and the camera is locking up now. I didnt even sync it, its brand new now... same issue

Same problem here. I got my iPad 2 today in the mail and the front facing camera hasn't worked at all. I wouldn't even know how to go about getting it exchanged

I keep getting an error (app failed to start) message.
When I open Firefox I often (but not always) get the message:
This application has failed to start because xcom_core.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
So I've re-installed the app (Firefox) and there are no problems for a while - then, I start getting the message again. The app. freezes 'till I click the OK button - up to 5 times. What gives?Hi,
Try holding shift key whilst signing out of match then close iTunes. Reboot computer then launch iTunes. Now sign back into iTunes Store and activate iTunes Match. You will be asked to add this computer, do so.
You should add iCloud status to song view. Go to menu > view > view options and tick box. This will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, duplicate, inelligible or waiting. If match process is failing to complete, you should delete "waiting" tracks but do not move to trash. Those tracks may include some that match does not like and is preventing process from completing.
Once process has complete, try adding those tracks again, a small number at a time.

Installed OS X Maverick on Macs...having problems slower system and apps freezing
I installed and downloaded OS X Maverick last week and installed it in relatively new Macbook Pro and IMac...both purchased last year...have experienced applications freezing, slower start up time several times, once was unable to start my Macbook Pro...had to reboot..and slower system response...anyone else experiencing the same?
Checked to see how much space is available ??
Click your Apple menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage. Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
As for slow startup, delete all apps in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
Same for HD > Library > StartupItems
Anti virus software can slow your Macs down if installed. -

The edit "button" and other functions were not working on "Map" app that came with iPhone 3gs--(updated to 3.1) I could not clear the previous direction and start again. Now that I think about it this never happened prior to the 3.1 update...
What can I do to clear the search and directions?Just a follow up to the Map app freeze. The map app seems to be working well now. I am not sure what I did, but kept playing around with the app. Perhaps it just got tired

I have iPad 2, currently on 5.1.1 iOS. This problem that i have did not ever happened before. Did not install or change anything, but this started to happen.
So i have about 11 Gb of music in my ipod app. Whenever i select a song to play (from the whole songs list) it starts playing just fine. When i press on another song the app freezes and iPad stops responding too. After 2-5 mins it resprings itself. Also restarting manually seems to be working.
What are the options for me? Restoring/upgrading would be the last thing i want to do. Already tried resetting all settings.
Thank you.You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. -
Messages App freezes ocassionally and have to restart iPhone 6plus
At times i am reading a message received and the app freezes. I have to turn off iphone and start again. I have not bee able to replicate the feezing, it just happens.
I am having the same problem with my 3GS updated to 3.1. Today I had to restart my phone (turn it on, wait 15 secs - I was told to do that by the ATT rep, then turn phone back on) twice. The 3G signal was no where to be found. I could not make any phone calls. I tried calling myself using a land line and it sent me over to the voicemail. When I switched over to WiFi, I could go on the internet but not use the phone. When I rebooted/restarted the phone (in the same location where I was at), the phone worked. I called the ATT service rep and they said the signals / towers are working fine and that it was my phone. I need to restart it every couple of days. It's amazing that I had my Blackberry for 2.5 yrs (before my iPhone) and I only had to restart 3 times. Today, I had to restart the phone TWICE. Very frustrating. Please help!!!
