Rebel XT and Win 7 compatability patch.

Has anyone come out with a patch so it will work with Win 7 or later? I have tried Virtual window and it fails to recognize the camera. I am looking for software, 3rd party or otherwise to fix the incompatability.

Norton Security Suite is compatibile with Win 10 after LiveUpdate upgrades your copy of NSS to version 22.5.2.15. You can verify the version via Help > About - although you will most likely notice the GUI change to the white/green in lieu of white/yellow Main Page.
Once your system has been upgraded to version 22.5.2.15, the install of WIN 10 will not remove/disable your NSS as it appears it has been doing for those who went ahead and installed Win 10 prior to the time the announcement was made that NSS was windows compatibile.

[Update on 29 July: Comcast Norton Security Suite 22.5.2.15 released]
This is just like the past Norton Toolbar add-ons releases, get the upgraded add-ons first via automatic or manual LiveUpdate and then upgrade Firefox to the next version. So in that respect, this upgrade was not any different in what Norton/Comcast has done in the past.
Bottom line is new version 22.5.2.15 will be downloaded via LiveUpdate, installed, activated and then WIN 10 can be installed without it uninstalling NSS.
I will make another post trying to assist those users who have already upgraded to WIN 10 prior to obtaining the version upgrade and receiving the official notification on NSS being Win 10 compatible.

Sorry, I wasn't precise in my terminology (necessary when dealing with Microsoft!).
Windows 7 provides two different facilities for compatibility:
1. Windows XP Mode runs an XP virtual machine inside Windows 7:

It requires WIndows 7 Pro or Ultimate.
2. As with Vista, you can set compatibility options for an individual program by right-clicking its icon or Start menu item, selecting Properties, and then the Compatibility tab. This option comes with every version of Windows 7:

Is fox 35 and win. 8.1 and theAMD A8 compatable ?

Have loaded and uninstalled fox 35 several times----no error warnings---set fox for default-----but the result is a Franken browser part Explorer 11 and part Fox 35 and not usable . On the 1st uninstall Explorer 11 vanished but it's still there---when I reload Fox it's the same Franken browser and I found Exp. 11 when I tried ''new internet connection'' it seems 11 is already running but not showing any longer on desktop or in programs but it is intact and not a franken browser. Is there conflict with using Fox 35 and Win. 8.1 and the AMD A8 ??

Has anyone loaded Windows 8 on a ThinkPad T61? Is so, were there any incompatibilities? I currently run Vista Business 32-bit on my T61 but am considering moving on to Windows 8.

Microsoft ditch DirectSound and DirectSound3D but developers still works on EAX through OpenAL.
Developers still use EAX as a de-facto standard and PC audio industry called this SoundBlaster compatibility. Creative has responsibility to ensure that all their SoundBlaster works and provide great EAX supports whenever. They should constantly review their drivers, their software release to provide greater supports. It's a responsibility which brings trust, quality and continue reliability.
This can win back their lost market share and win back confidence.
While Creative create the next generation EAX standard and sound blaster, they should explain what type of engineering was created which was so distinctly different from before?and be proud to explain these merits to all. Creative?can raise the bar of the industry with next generation EAX and audio solutions. It should be using?superior and specialise hardware to deli'ver that and not any software or processor based. (too bloated)
Creative marketing needs to be somehow?more technical to?market its products.

Hello, I actually have a question related to the following thread, so I posted there and was recommended to start a new thread:

Question is related to the following doc, specifically, is this patch still available for CR 2008 or not?:

A response from Don suggested this wasnt available for CR 2008 although this is confusing since the doc refers to CR 2008. My response was as follows and is essentially the question I still have (more so because we have another PeopleSoft/Oracle customer whos come across this doc and wants to know how to apply the fix for CR 2008). Hi Don, I know this is an old thread, but Im also running into the same issue and am confused by your statement since the referenced PDF doc says this patch is available for CR 2008. Did you mean that the patch is no longer available or supported for CR 2008 for some reason? If so, any idea why?
Im a developer for Oracle/PeopleSoft and our PeopleSoft suite includes OEM Crystal. We recently upgraded to CR 2008 for our latest release and we are getting the same complaint from a few customers about not being able to output the XLS in Excel 8.0 compatiibility mode like before (In Crystal 9, we used the \Export\Excel\CompatVersion=80 registry key to enable this). So if this patch is available, it would be a huge benefit for us to be able to point our customers to it. If not, please still let me know eitherway.

So the story is the Rubik's patch has been available from CR 9 up until CR XI R1 as a simple download. In R2 and above to get it you have to log a case, work with a Report Rep to try to design your reports so they use the new export dll. To get you by until you have time to do so, and after filling out a query for the PM to get info on how to possibly improve the updated export dll to meet your needs, he will then send you the patch on the agreement that this is the LAST time you ask for it.
Support no longer has access to the patch so all requests must go through the Program Manager who keeps tract of who received it.
Bottom line is you need to update the reports to use the new export model.
That old legacy dll was bugging and impossible to maintain.

Need Crystal Reports Excel Export Compatibility Patch

I seached the threads and found that the person that started this thread:
Crystal Reports.NET Export to Excel
has the same issue/needs that I do. We have over 1000 crystal reports all written in 8.5. We MUST have the ability to export them accurately to Excel in the clean manner in which they were exported back in version 8.5. Apparently (for whatever reason) you guys have gone away from the old methodology of exporting to Excel, however I read that there is a compatibility patch that can be provided that would allow me to be able to export the reports to excel the way it use to work. What do I need to do to aquire this patch? Thanks.

Thanks Don for you reply. I noticed you said this was low priority for him, but to us it's a major priority as I said, one of our biggest clients is very upset about it and we need it fixed asap.
I understand what you are saying when you say that we "had 10 years to update it." However, please understand from our vantage point. We didn't upgrade b/c you're user license agreements were so expensive for us until you recently reworked it so as to be affordable. So we couldn't upgrade until recently. So now we "upgraded" to a newer version of Crystal which usually means things are enhanced and work better. However, in this case the newer version is causing us major problems in an area that use to work great. So we're finding it hard to blame ourselves for this.
I guess I am ignorant as to why SAP would go to an entirely different exporting methodology when the old methodology was working so well.
Anyway, thanks again and anything you can do to speed up the process of getting us a patch would be greatly appreciated.

Skype and win 10 well done

Hello all,
I have just installed windows 10 technical preview on an old laptop drive and installed it in my pc.
Good news skype is back but this time its easier to use you can make it look how you wish like the old compressed view but with tiles.
in the top left there is a drop down menu for settings and preferences, EASY AS PEAS.
ALL calls,sound and camera worked first time without having to use in win 7 compatibility mode.
there is hope yet don`t go back to tablet looking apps.
p.s. win 10 looks good too the start menu is back and navigation to anywhere on your system is easy.

Maybe hearing from enough unhappy customers over the last weeks when they haven't been willing to deal with these same type of security issues has caused them to finally look at their policies regarding fraud. I wish they had done that from that get go, it would have saved me days of frustration and anger.

If you have trouble having the download dialog box open like I did, just right click on the Download File and save as.
I had over a dozen websites developed with ADDT and this patched fix all my PHP 5.3 issues.
I simply uploaded and replaced the 18 files that come in the patched zip.

The flavor of the Microsoft SQL Server Driver for PHP that you enabled in the php.ini file is the Thread Safe VC6 version. Therefore, you’ll need to install the appropriate version of PHP run-time (i.e. VC6 x86 Thread Safe) from http://windows.php.net/download/.
When installing PHP, you should select the IIS/FastCGI option, and then establish a mapping between IIS and php-cgi.exe. In other words, your IIS configuration should point to the PHP CGI executable and not php5.dll that happens to be the Non Thread-Safe PHP run-time.
Moreover, the library ntwdblib.dll is not needed anymore.
On final note: it might be worth upgrading your IIS to at least version 6.0 that was optimized for FastCGI usage.

I'm having trouble with Diablo 2 and wine

I'm running 64 bit Arch, but running bin32-wine-stable from the AUR so I don't think it's a 64 bit issue. Just thought I'd throw that in there in case there's something I've overlooked. I put the CD in and an autorun prompt pops up, when I click run it says "Cannot find the autorun program" so I say "okay" and try to run Install.exe and/or Setup.exe from /media/INSTALL (the cd) but I get a message in wine asking me to put the install cd in. I've tried autodetect in winecfg, but that didn't seem to work; I get the same errors. Thoughts and suggestions?

No offense but the last time I tried this it took me 14 hours to download diablo. It was frustrating to say the least, so I'd like to avoid it as much as possible. I also tried this again, and wine is completely unresponsive to the download program. I get the blue screen of my emulated desktop and nothing more.
Doing the fstab thing with /mnt/cdrom gets me the same error as before which leads me to believe that it's a wine problem and not a mounting problem, since I could access the cd before anyway, just not in wine.
Other ideas? I'm really desperate here, "I needs me some diablo 2" so to speak.

Using Terminal to compile Freetype, FontForge, and Wine (NOT DARWINE)

Hey there.. Im trying to build FreeType, FontForge, and Wine from source to install on my Mac. Ive downloaded the tar.bz2 files of each and unarchived them using archive manager. I have very little compiling experience.. I did alittle bit of it on Arch Linux using ABS, the Arch Build System, and compiled maybe one driver on Ubuntu 8.10.. how would I go about installing these packages?
